Turning Point

When I reached the cages where they kept the wolf pack I felt sick. They were being kept like animals, it was beyond cruel; A filthy smelly basement with a concrete cold floor. There were several cages lined up, Jacobs cage was the first cage I reached. He was laying on his side with his back to me.

"Jake are you okay?"

Jake quickly turned to face me.

"Actually this is better than before, I haven't been beaten yet." Jake tried to attempt a half smile but I saw past it, he was miserable.

"Jake there is hope were working on a plan. Seth delivers the food trays upstairs and he is in constant contact with everyone. Were trying to get the newbie vampires on our side before we attempt an escape."

"That's smart; I mean we need an army."

"I have to pretend to still love him. That is the hard part."

"Do you love him?"

"I don't know. Love is complicated because it's unconditional and you can't turn it on or off but I am going to fight it and him. I owe you all that, you put your lives on the line for me."

"Is it at all possible he did this to gain back their trust so he could destroy the volturi?"

"Jacob I don't have time to wonder anymore. I have to base my decisions on his actions not his words."

"Have you seen the others, I mean Leah?"

"No but Seth has seen her."

"How is she?"

"She is strong."

"Just give it to me straight she is a woman and they are men and she is a slave now. What are they doing to her?" Jakes voice trembled in a vulnerable way I had never heard before from him.

When Jakes eyes met mine I could see that he was in pain. I knew the truth could kill him even if he tried to play strong.

"Jake are you in love?"

"I care for her deeply were lovers, please Bella just say it."

"The guard Felix has claimed her, he wasn't rough but he has raped her."

"No."

I heard a large cry and realized it came from another cage. Sam's eyes were on fire as he held the bars to his cage. It was like he wanted to tear them apart, I watched him tremble. Fury and rage caused his body to shiver.

"I will kill Felix; you have to do something to get us out of here so I can help her." Sam said to me, pleading.

"Since when do you care about Leah your sleeping with her cousin Emily?"

"You have no clue about that Jake so keep your mouth shut."

"You're so noble Sam." Jake said sarcastically.

"We can't fight with each other right now, not when were slaves and need each other the most." Embry said.

"Fine but after we leave here this will get dealt with." Jake said.

"Stay away from Leah Jake she's still mine." Sam Spoke then I heard an animalistic growl leave his lips.

"Look guys I need to feed you and spray you down let's get through that and this situation, together."

When I left they had agreed to be peaceful with each other but I could tell the situation with Leah, Sam and Jake was going to be an issue. The last thing we needed was to fight each other I had to resolve that before we could get anywhere. I wrote myself a mental note to work on that. After tending to my chores I searched for one of the Cullen's I needed to follow up and make sure we were making progress with the newbies. I saw Alice sitting in the hallway I grabbed her shoulder and as soon as she turned to face me I noticed she was crying.

"What happened?"

"That damn Caius happened."

"What did he do to you?"

"This morning he walked in and just punched me than walked out my room. He hates me and I'm scared I can see venom in his eyes and I don't know what he's going to do to me. His feelings are strange when it comes to me. My ability is useless here; he controls it so I don't have my visions to rely on. I forgot what the fear of the unknown feels like. He spent so much time and energy on trying to be complete without me and I think he blames me for the position he's currently in."

"So now you cry to Bella when you caused all this. Why don't you tell her what you did Alice?""

Caius was standing behind us and Aro stood beside him.

"Punish her if you hate her so." Aro spoke in a somewhat demanding way. Caius stared at him; I could tell he was making a choice. I could see the wheels turning; he grabbed Alice and tossed her into the wall. He looked at me there was a hint of shame.

"Leave Bella you don't need to see this."

"What are you doing Caius?"

"Leave at once." Now he seemed angry. He turned to Alice and ripped her dress off with one sharp movement.

"Caius don't you dare do this, I could never forgive you for that. If you rape her my love for you will change."

Aro began to pace he seemed thrilled he was waiting for this moment. His eyes stalked us as he waited to see what Caius would do. Caius looked back at him than me.

"Bella I love and hate her, what's happening right now is something you just can't understand." Caius stared at me his eyes begging for me to understand yet again. The way I understood why I had to come here and allow myself to be his concubine. The way I understood as he told me lies and left me in the dark. I hated him for expecting me to trust in him when all of his actions had been so cruel. When would he understand, understand that using me was not something I could continue to tolerate.

"We do what we have to do." The voice was familiar I looked up to see Coulier. I knew his comment was for me.

"Ah yes you must come join us, watch this thrilling show." Aro said.

"No thanks." Coulier said, he looked as if nothing ever happened and he was never beaten. Caius turned back to Alice.

"I hate you." He said.

"I hate you too." They were face to face noses touching. I needed to see what he would do next would he take her right there in front of me. My stomach turned, I realized I still loved him because the thought of him doing this was killing me. If he loved me how could he. Caius looked back at Aro searching his face. But Aro just smiled.

"Now he must prove himself to me or to you, where does he stand Bella?"
