Chapter 24

Yume P.O.V.

How can I be lost!? And why am I slow? If I don't hurry then I won't get to be forgiven!

"SOMEONE HELP!" Huh? Where have I heard this voice before? I run to the screaming. This girl looked like Fine except she had long blue hair and aquamarine eyes, must be Rein. I also see an older woman with Fine's genes, Queen Elsa. Between them was...MY BROTHER! "HELP!" Rein yelled.

They were surrounded by Queen Spring's soldiers. I have to help. My brother would do it but his energy is being sucked away. I have to step in!

I unleash my sword and charge at the guards. Before they can turn, I attacked them. These guys are too easy.

"Yu...me?" I turn to the three. My brother was looking at me weakly.

"Brother!" I dash to him. When I try to reach out of him, I froze. Instead I stayed back and turn my head away.

"Yume? What's with the change of heart?" Rein asked.

Before I could answer there was an explosion. "That's probably where Fine and the others are at!"

"EH!?"

"We have to go there, but we can't leave Akumu!" Elsa said.

"I'll stay with my brother. You two go." I said. They didn't have a choice but to trust me. They hand Akumu to me and they run for it. I walk him near the wall. He slides down, taking deep breaths. If this keeps up then he'll...

"Yume." Brother said.

"Yes?"

He looks at me and smiles. "I'm glad."

"For what?"

"That you came back."

"Brother..." So he believed in me? I smile and bow. "Of course. Remember? I want to protect my older brother." He chuckles.

"I know. Even though I should be the one saying that." I chuckle too.

That's right...my wish was to protect my brother from harm because he gave me the courage to be happy!

"Huh? Am I late?" We look up. A girl, Fine's age, was standing before us.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"Emily. I'm looking for Elsa and Rein." She answered.

"They left a couple of minutes ago. Why? Were you planning to save them?"

She crosses her arms. "What does it look like?"

"A yes." She sits next to me. "Aren't you going after them?"

"Nah. I'm not needed anymore. I'll stick around you guys for a while."

What a weird girl. I felt my brother elbowing me. I look at him and he was grinning at me. W-Why?

Normal P.O.V.

Rein and Elsa run down the hall. "Which way was the explosion?!" Elsa said.

"This way! I know it!" Rein answered. Elsa's eyes widened. 'Don't tell me...' She runs ahead. "Mother!?" Rein picks up her pace so she can catch up to her mother.

They make it to their destination. Truth was right there with Bright and Xavier. "Truth!" He turns back. Elsa runs to him and hugs him from behind.

"Elsa? What's wrong?!" He said. She turns to Xavier and see he's wounded.

"W-What happened to Xavier!?"

Xavier covers his wound and smiles. "Don't worry, mom. Its not that bad."

Bright turns back to Rein. She was looking at him worriedly. He walks up to her and pats her head. She blushes and looks up at him. "I'm alright." He said. She looks down.

"I know. It's just..." Bright raises an eyebrow. He sees a teardrop fall. His eyes soften. "I was afraid!" She sobbed. Bright wraps his arms around her and hugs her closely. Her eyes widened.

"There is no need to be afraid." Rein blushes and closes her eyes.

Truth makes a face of annoyance. 'Now my other daughter is going to leave me soon.' He thought. Elsa smiles at the two. 'Bright's gonna be my son-in-law!' She thought.

Xavier makes a gentle smile and turns away. Another explosion happens. They all try to keep their balance.

"It's finally going to get this bad. I never knew your daughter was this strong." Ruth said weakly.

"What do you mean?" Truth said.

"We've been doing research on you guys. Since Truth's family can inherit twins, then Elsa would get twins. It was a 50/50 chance. When we finished our research, we decided to kill the baby with the family gene, but Akumu beat us to it. He managed to learn this information and played the bad guy."

"So he did all this to protect Fine?"

"Of course." He sits up. Xavier scoots back. "I won't fight you anymore. I'm finish with me role. You should hurry up and go to your daughter. She's probably half-beaten by now."

Rein takes a step forward. "I doubt that! Fine would never lose that easily!" She said.

"Why do you think mother would invent something to make those with the gift weak."

Elsa walks up to Ruth. "We have to stop mother, Ruth! She's making a huge mistake!" She said.

"I-"

"PLEASE!"

He stares at Elsa in shock. He sits there, not knowing what to do. Finally, he said something. "We can't do anything. All we have to do is wait."

"No way..." Truth looks at the two and thinks. 'Looks like the plan will have to proceed without us. We'll just have to let Fine handle it from here.' He thought.

Rein looks at the entry way to the battle. 'Shade. We're counting on you to take care of Fine!' She prayed. Bright puts his hand on her should. She looks up at him.

"Don't worry. Everything will be alright!" He said with a smile. She agrees.

"I hope you're right." Xavier mumbled and looked up. He closes his eyes. 'Kyle, Paco, Chris, Charlotte. Please be safe and protect my little sister!' He prayed in his mind.

Where the others are at~

Charlotte looks back.

"Did you guys feel that?" She asks.

"Yeah. Its like Xavier is telling us something." Chris said. Charlotte touches her heart. 'Xavier...' Was the name in her mind.

Paco side-glances her. "Worried about Xavier?" He said. She blushes and shakes her head furiously. "Don't worry. I knew Xavier first so I know more about him. He'll be fine."

"R-Right!" She said.

"Now... lets focus on those two. They've been fighting for a while. With all this destruction, none of them are injured." Kyle said.

The four look down at Fine and Spring.

Shade was still where he was standing. He had a serious look on his face.

Suddenly, Fine coughed. "Oh? Could it be you used too much stamina?" Spring said. Fine wipes her mouth.

"Yeah right! Like I'd ever-" Fine got cut off because of her coughing.

"You know you if you keep this up, you'll weaken terribly that you won't stand anymore."

"Don't underestimate me!" Fine charges at Spring. She dodges her attack. Spring attacks Fine, but she dodges. "At this rate we'll never get anywhere!"

"You're right. All we're doing is destroying this place."

"YOU THINK!?" Yelled Shade and the travel buddies.

"S-Sorry." Fine said. Spring looks around.

She said, "Something isn't right here. The atmosphere changed, didn't it?"

"Well they did just yell at us."

"That's not it. Can't you feel it?"

"Hmm..." Fine closes her eyes. "It's like...something or someone is coming, right? No, never mind, scratch that. Hmm..." Her eyes open immediately. "Its like a massive of energy is being aimed here." She narrows her eyes at Spring. "Isn't that your doing?"

"I thought so at first, but I was wrong."

Shade slides down to Fine and stands next to her. "What's going on?" He asks. She turns to him.

"Shade. I know I promised to not leave your side, but I'm going to leave your side a little longer, okay?" She said.

"W-Why!?" She places her hand on his cheek. He holds that hand and relaxes.

"Do you trust me?"

"Yes."

"Then you don't have a choice but to let me do this. I promise I'll make it up!"

He squeezes her hand, but finally lets go. "Okay. You better keep that promise!"

Fine kisses his cheek and turns to Spring. "We'll only check together for while, but if it's nothing then we continue where we left off."

"Agree." She said. They run up the stairs.
