A/N: Sorry for the typo. The train rides were all supposed to be six hours, but I mistyped and said some two hours. Don't hate me!

I don't own Fairy Tail.

-With Wendy-

As Wendy walked into the town, she had to cover her nose with her sleeve. "Why did this village have to be built in a swamp?" she sighed in misery from the stench of the swamp. The houses were all small huts with holes in them for windows. The village men wore nothing but leaf green trousers and each had his hair braided down his back. The women wore shorter pants that ended at the knee, and wore leaf-patterned bra tops. They had their hair in two braids that hung over the front of their shoulders.

"The original reasoning was probably something incredibly mundane," muttered Carla. She had pulled the top of her dress over her nose to try and ease the stench. "What I'm wondering is how can these people tolerate it?" The two girls looked around the darkening town and saw people walking around without a care about the smell.

"Maybe they've all just gotten used to it?" suggested the young Dragon Slayer.

"Actually, the people in here don't actually have senses of smell," came a young boy's response. The two gasped and saw a little boy that looked about eight years old. Like the men of the village, he was wearing a pair of leaf-pattern trousers and nothing else. His black hair was braided down his back and a small metal stud was in his right ear. His forest green eyes looked at the two in curiosity. "Who are you people?" he asked. "We don't get that many visitors here."

Wendy smiled sweetly at him. "I'm Wendy, and this is Carla. We're from the Fairy Tail Guild and are here to stop the creature that's been terrorizing your village." She bent down at the waist to make eye contact. "Can you show us to whoever is in charge?"

The little boy's eyes brightened up. "You're here to save the village?!" he asked eagerly. "That's great! I'll take you to the chief right away!" Grabbing Wendy by the hand, he started pulling her through the village to the large hut in the middle. Inside, they found an older man in similar garb, but sporting a large forest green cape and with graying hair. A hand carved pipe hung form his mouth. "Chief!" cried the little boy. "These strange ladies of come to kill the monster!"

He took the end of the pipe from his mouth. "Is that so?" He looked at the girl and cat. "Welcome, friends," he said while standing up. After standing, he bowed at the waist. "I can't thank you enough for taking the request. You don't know how much it means to us that you came to help us."

"It's nothing, really," she replied in embarrassment with her eyes closed. "I'm simply glad to help." She opened her eyes and looked at him. "So, what exactly am I after?"

"We're not entirely sure what it is," he replied gravely. "All we know is that the creature is capable of attacking with noxious gasses that can have any number of effects on the target." He looked down in sadness. "The creature attacks us every night, and we simply can't fight it. We've tried, but we can't seem to stop it."

"You'll defeat it, right Miss Wendy?" asked the little boy.

Wendy looked down at him and saw all the hope in his eyes. She nodded. "Yes. I give my word as a member of Fairy Tail!"

The boy smiled and hugged her waist. "Thank you, so much!"

"Indeed, young lady. It means so much to me that you would do something like this," added the older man.

-Gajeel-

After the incident with the three idiots, the Iron Dragon's ride went on in relative peace. After the six hour train ride, he arrived at the mountain station as the sun began setting. He walked out into the town, and saw that a lot of people there had an awful lot of piercings and shaggy dark hair, like him. Huh, wonder if there's some connection to me here, he thought to himself. Looking towards a mountain in the distance, he raised an eyebrow. Wait a minute, this is near where Metallicana found and raised me. Weird that I'm sent on a job here.

He walked around with his bag over his shoulder as he looked around for lodgings. After a while, he grabbed a woman by the arm. She had brown eyes and dark brown hair. Both eyebrows were pierced with bright silver rings. She was wearing a black tank-top and cargo pants with leather boots. "What do you want, you ass?" she demanded. "I'm not a tramp, so I'm not going with you."

"Look chick, I don't want and trouble," he growled. "I just want to know where I can stay for the night while I'm in town."

"My name isn't 'chick', ass," she growled back while pulling her arm out of his grip. "The name's Christa. Don't forget it."

"Well my name isn't ass!" snapped Gajeel. "I'm Gajeel Redfox, from Fairy Tail! Now tell me where I can find a hotel!"

She glared at him but pointed to a two story building on a corner away from them. "You can stay there for the evening for 3,000 Jewel a night."

"Gihi, it's about damn time." He turned towards the building and started walking towards it. He waved over his shoulder as he left. "See ya," he called.

"Good luck getting killed by the monster!" she called as he walked away from her.

He turned when he heard that, but she was long gone when he looked for her. Shrugging, he kept moving towards the small inn. Walking in, he took note of how empty the place was. "What the hell?" he said to himself. "What is this, a ghost inn?"

"Nah, we just haven't gotten that many guests lately," came a gruff voice. A man sat up from behind the counter. He was rubbing the sleep from his dark green eyes and ran a hand through his shaggy black hair. He was wearing a horribly done up tie and a wrinkled dress shirt. "With that damn beast hanging around here, people haven't bothered coming up here." He eyed Gajeel with a raised eyebrow. "I take it you're here about that creature?"

The Iron Dragon Slayer nodded. "Yeah. Know who I can talk to about it?"

The manager shrugged. "The mayor, I guess. Dunno if he's around at this time, though."

"Damn," muttered wizard. "Guess I gotta wait 'till tomorrow."

"'Fraid so," replied the innkeeper with a shrug. "It's 3,000 Jewel a night, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem."

"Fine," muttered Gajeel. "I'll take a room for the night." He put the bills on the counter and took the room key from the man. "Don't bother me, got it?" He practically stormed up the stairs to the next floor. Finding the room matching the number on is key, he walked in to the small room. There was a simple bed against the back wall, a small window, and a small table with a lamp next to the bed. In total, the room couldn't have been bigger than the average bedroom. "Well, guess anyone who stays here isn't planning on being here too long." With that, he threw his bag on the floor.

-With Natsu and Happy-

After the wheeled death tra- I mean train pulled into the station, the Fire Dragon, blue cat and their traveling companion got off on to the crowded platform with Natsu laughing as he did so. "This feels amazing!" he boasted to the world. "I feel invincible compared to those damn trains now!"

Jikan chuckled at Natsu's antics. "Well, that's one way to describe the feeling of not being motion sick. My friend often says it feels like escaping a stranglehold."

"Either way, I feel untouchable!" yelled Natsu. "I feel like I could kill that monster with one hand tied behind my back!" He looked at the town in front of him. There were trees everywhere, especially since the town was practically built in a forest. Some houses even looked like they were built around the trees.

Happy pulled a rope out of his bag. "That can be arranged," he said excitedly while holding up the rope.

"Let's try it!" encouraged Natsu as he held his left arm behind his back.

"I'd be careful, if I were you," Jikan said seriously. The two looked at him and saw a very serious look on his face. "I've heard that this thing leaves its victims barely alive and supposedly sucks out their souls." He started walking past them and looked Natsu in the eyes as he walked by. "If I were you, I'd do everything in my power to never see it."

"Hey, wait-!" Natsu tried to grab the mysterious teen, but he had already vanished into the crowd. "Where did he go?!" He couldn't find Jikan's scent in the crowd. It was as if he had literally vanished into thin air. "Damn it," he muttered. How could I lose that guy like that?

"How did he do that?" asked Happy. He flew into the air to try and spot the blonde teen. "I can't see him anywhere." The little cat flew down to Natsu's level. "Why do you think he said that to you?" he asked in slight fear.

"He was probably trying to chase us off so he could take all the credit," bragged the pink-haired boy. "WELL IT'S NOT GONNA WORK!" he yelled loudly, earning him some strange looks from people walking by. Natsu smiled at his best friend with his usual excitement. "C'mon," he said excitedly. "Let's go find a place to stay and then go after that monster!"

"Aye, sir!"

-Alex-

Alex was sleeping somewhat peaceful, before a loud crash woke him up. He bolted upright as Kaoru fell off the bed in fright. "What the hell was that?!" he yelled.

"I don't know," whimpered the little cat as he climbed back onto the bed.

The duo heard a loud roar before the wall to Alex's right came crashing down. Alex and Kaoru jumped onto the left side of the bed and saw what was attacking them. The culprit was series of large vines with a claw at the end. Outside the hole was a large mass of vines connecting to the woven vines.

"I think we're dealing with the target," muttered Alex. He coated his right hand in ruby as he slammed it down on the large appendage. "So we're going to eliminate it!"

"Why do these things happen at night lately?" whined the little purple cat.

There was a loud shriek as the makeshift arm was withdrawn from Alex's attack. "Don't know, don't care," he muttered. "Right now, we've got to kill this asshole!"

"Okay," agreed Kaoru, now awake. He flew to his Dragon Slayer and wrapped his tail around Alex's waist. The human ran and jumped through the hole in the wall. As they hit the open air, Kaoru's wings took over and flew them high enough to get a decent view of what they were against. The monster itself was about twice as big as Alex was and was hanging on the side of the large building. Its body was made out of woven vines that gave it a human-like form. Its hands and feet were ended with large claws that gleamed in the moon light. Its head looked reptilian and with a series of large fangs lining its mouth. The eyes that now followed them were glowing red.

"Oh shit," muttered Alex as the monster climbed off the hotel and charged along the ground towards them. It raised a large claw and swung at them, but Kaoru flew to the right to avoid getting hit. "Something tells me we're going to have a tough time not destroying anything else."

-Wendy-

As the young girl set up a small sleeping bag for herself to sleep in, there was a loud primal roar from outside with screams following shortly afterwards. The little boy came in with terror stricken eyes. "Miss Wendy! The monster is attacking us!"

"Let's go Wendy," ordered Carla. She started moving towards the doorway.

"Right," nodded the blue-haired girl. She looked at the little boy as she moved towards the door. "Stay here," she ordered. "It'll be much safer here than out there."

He nodded as she ran out. The two girls ran outside and gasped when they saw what they had to fight. The monster was large and definitely reptilian in nature. It resembled a long lizard, but had a large bulb like a frog's under its chin. The moonlight showed it to be dark blue in coloration with dark green shelling around its claws. The tail had a dangerous looking spiked barb at the end. Its glowing eyes were a terrifying green as it stared hungrily into the hole it had made in the roof of one of the huts while its long tongue hung out of its fanged mouth.

"Sky Dragon's… ROAR!" Wendy's tornado-like breath attack knocked the large beast off of the building and rolling on the ground. She ran towards the house as it tried to right itself. She pulled aside the curtain over the doorway, and saw a woman frozen in place but sobbing without moving.

The woman's eyes looked at Wendy. She tried to say something, but her mouth wouldn't even budge. Instead, she only whined pitifully. "What's wrong with her?" asked Wendy in fear.

"This is probably what we were warned abut with the creature," muttered Carla. "We were told that it uses gasses to trap its prey, so this is probably what happens to that monster's victims."

"Then hopefully I can heal her," replied Wendy. Unfortunately, as she went to heal the woman, the creature's tail came through the hole in the ceiling. It stabbed the paralyzed woman through her stomach and carried her out of the little hut. Screaming, Wendy fell on her backside. They heard a louder whine from the woman that sounded like a scream before a very wet crunch. A minute later, the creature looked over the edge of the hole and glared at her hungrily. Blood dripped from its chin while that long tongue licked at what was on its face.

It pulled its lips back before lunging at her. She started screaming, but felt something pull her out rather than fangs. When she opened her eyes, she saw the lizard growling at her from the ground. Carla's tail was wrapped around her waist and holding her in the air. "Child, now is not the time for you to shut down like that!" snapped Carla.

"Sorry, Carla," she apologized shamefully. "I just was so scared that it ate someone like that."

"Well focus!" yelled the white cat. "It's coming after us!"

Sure enough, the lizard was crawling along the ground towards them. Bending its legs, the large lizard launched itself towards the flying girl and cat. It opened its mouth wide as it prepared to bite down on them. "Sky Dragon's Roar!" yelled Wendy. The twister slammed the large beast back into the ground. It twisted around and glared at them again. The sac on its chin inflated as it raised its head towards them. Exhaling, it launched a cloud of green gas at them.

"Carla, move!" ordered Wendy. "That's probably the toxin it used on that woman!"

"You don't need to tell me!" snapped Carla as she pulled the two out of the way of the cloud. "I'm going in close, take a hit on it!"

"Right!" Carla dive-bombed towards the reptile while Wendy wrapped air around her hands. "Sky Dragon's Wing Attack!" Swinging her arms in an X pattern, Wendy sent the creature flying into a couple of trees with two waves of concentrated wind. Placing the young girl on the ground, Carla let go of her waist. The monster shrieked before flipping itself over. Once back on its feet, it let out a loud roar. "Something tells me we're going to have a bit of a fight in store for us," she said worriedly.

-Gajeel-

The Iron Dragon, not feeling that tired, was laying on top of the bed's covers with his arms behind his head as he tried sleeping. That was, until he heard a loud shriek and a loud roar. He sat upright and smirked in anticipation. "Gihi… Sounds like my target is here." Getting up off the bed, he opened the one window and jumped out of it and to the street below. Looking around, he saw a large flying shape chasing down the girl from earlier.

"Piss off you damn bird!" she yelled murderously as it chased her.

Gajeel looked at the monster he had to kill and raised an eyebrow. It did certainly resemble a large bat, but was more wyvern-like. Its feet were large, black scaled talons while its wings had claws on top of them. Its face was very bat-like, but the ears were covered in black scales and its mouth had large fangs that reached below its jaw. Its body had dark red-almost black fur and scales on its neck and stomach. It roared again and Gajeel grinned as it tried to attack the girl again.

"Time to get to work," he chuckled as he ran towards it. He jumped up as he charged up his magic. "Iron Dragon's Club!" His right forearm became a large metal pole that slammed into the wyvern's head. He landed next to the girl. "Get outta here, chick. I'm here to kill this thing."

"I told you asshole, my name isn't chick!" she yelled at him.

"You think I care, woman?!" he yelled back at her. "Unless you want to get killed, I'd advise clearing out!" He glared at her over his shoulder. "Understand?"

She stared at him before chuckling. She turned and started running off. "Good luck, asshole," she called.

"The name's… GAJEEL!" he yelled as he ran at the large bat. "Iron Dragon's Sword!" He swung at the beast, but barely grazed its scales. The monster landed on the roof of another building and roared to the skies in challenge. "Gihi… Looks like you're really gonna make me work for my pay, huh?" It growled in response and got ready to fly at him. "Then let's play! Iron Dragon's Roar!"

-Natsu-

"Boy, that was a good meal," sighed Natsu as he and Happy walked out of the restaurant and on to the moonlit dirt streets. The lights from the trees weren't lit, but there were plenty hanging from the many trees. What had begun as a search for an inn had transformed into the two getting a large meal and spending a lot of the money that was supposed to go towards their hotel room.

"Aye," replied Happy as he walked alongside his partner. "For a forest based town, they have some good fish."

"You can say that again!" chuckled Natsu. As the two knuckleheads walked along while talking loudly, they failed to notice a large serpent-like shape trailing them from the roof tops. As a cloud overhead moved by and covered the moon, Natsu froze. "Happy. I think something's following us."

"You think so?" asked the blue cat.

"And it's right over… THERE!" Turning around, he pointed at what was following them from behind. Sitting there, on its haunches, was a raccoon staring at them with its big eyes. "Oh… guess it wasn't so big a deal."

"Aye," muttered Happy as he chuckled at Natsu's behavior.

A loud roar was heard as a shadowed shape flew off the roof and grabbed the small animal off the street. The two watched in shock as the large shadowy form sucked the raccoon into an aged, shriveled up shell of itself. "What is that?!" screamed Happy in terror.

The cloud passed, and showed that the shadowed beast resembled a large snake. The main difference was that the 'snake' had two large claws on the front half of its body. Its head, in place of a mouth, resembled a leech's sucker but could close like a jaw. A pair of yellow eyes gleamed in the moonlight. The soft light showed its body to be a dark brownish red. It had to be at least nine feet in length. It roared again, but the sound was hollow, and sounded like a ghost's or something.

"I think that's what we were hired to get rid of," Natsu said excitedly. "And it looks like it might be a bit of a challenge!"

"I'm worried about how it did that to that poor raccoon," whined Happy.

"Who cares?" asked Natsu. "I'm looking forward to killin' it!"

With another howl, the serpent beast charged the two with blinding speed; the two friends barely dodged it in time. "Wow, it's fast!" cried Happy as he grabbed Natsu and pulled him away.

"All the more reason to go all out!" Natsu took a deep inhale. "Fire Dragon's Roar!" The flames billowed towards the snake, which quickly slithered out of the way with its blinding speed. After the flames dispersed, it barreled towards Natsu at breakneck speeds. When it was close to Natsu, he smirked. "Gotcha!" He pulled back a flaming fist. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" The attack collided with its face and sent the monster reeling. "That's what you get for attacking me like that in the open!" The only response he got was a growl.

-Wendy-

The young girl panted as she and Carla dodged another gas cloud. That was how their battle was going. They'd get in an attack, then either get beaten around by the monster's claws or have to keep dodging its toxin clouds. Fortunately, it seemed as if the monster was getting weaker and tired. "Carla, we need to end this," she panted.

"Obviously," muttered the white cat. "But are you sure we can get in that attack?"

"I have to." Wendy took a deep inhale, taking in as much of the air as she could to charge up her magic. Swamp air tastes so nasty, she thought sadly. "Sky Dragon's… ROAR!" This roar was stronger than the ones she used before, and the effects on the creature showed such. The large reptile was launched into a series of tree branches.

The beast screamed in pain as it flew through the trees. When the screeching stopped, there was no sign of the creature, but the coppery scent of blood drifted through the branches. Hesitantly, Wendy walked along the trail of destroyed branches and found a truly sickening sight. The body of the creature had several branches from the trees piercing its body in various places and had clearly bled out rather quickly.

"Oh my…" gasped Wendy from the sight. "I… killed it…"

Carla pat her partner on the leg. "Don't let it eat at you, Wendy. You did what you were hired to do," comforted the white cat.

"But, Carla… I killed it…" she whispered.

"Chief! Miss Wendy did it!" came a familiar voice. "She killed the monster!" A series of cheers broke out from the direction of the village and caused Wendy's eyes to open.

"You see, child?" asked the female cat. "Even though you ended that monster's life, you brought all these people happiness."

"Yeah, I guess you're right Carla," answered the little Dragon Slayer. The two walked back towards the village, smiling now that they heard the sounds of celebration.

-Alex-

Alex was being flown around by Kaoru as the large plant monster kept trying to hit them out of the air. Roaring, it reached towards them with its right claw. Alex took an inhale as the appendage approached them. "Crystal Dragon's Roar!" The crystal vortex shredded the surface of its arm, but didn't obliterate the limb. The monster screeched as the vines reformed and repaired all the damage he had done.

"Aw dammit," muttered the human. "This thing can freakin' regenerate."

"Then how do we beat it?" asked Kaoru. He was genuinely scared they'd be unable to kill the monster.

Alex formed a red magic circle in front of him. "We burn it to a crisp!" The magic circle glowed bright orange. "Fire Avatar: Eagle Storm!" Four eagles made of bright flames that slammed into the plant monsters. One collided with the right shoulder, one on the side of its head, and the last two slammed into the chest of the plant beast. When the smoke cleared, the vines were singed, and not regenerating right away.

"Alex, look!" yelled Kaoru. "Its chest!"

Alex looked at its chest and gasped. Wrapped in several other vines was a large red egg shape. It glowed like the beast's eyes, and was clearly what kept the beast alive. "Looks like it's more of a construct than a monster," noted the Wizard.

"Then that large stone is how we beat it?" asked the little cat.

"Yup," replied the teen with a nod. "But looks like it's healing again." He pointed at how the vines had regrown. This time, however, there was a layer of bark over its chest. "And with new defenses." He thought for a minute as the beast healed the rest of its burn wounds. "Kaoru, put me down."

"What?!" yelled the purple and black cat. "It'll kill you!"

"It won't kill me," Alex replied off-handedly. "It might hurt me, but I'm not gonna die."

"But Alex-"

"Trust me, alright?" he asked playfully. "I can keep my neck safe." Monster interrupted their commentary as it roared and started moving towards them quickly. "Now!" he yelled.

Kaoru hesitated, but sighed. "How are you not dead?" He got ready to launch Alex by pulling back his tail.

"Because I'm from Fairy Tail!" yelled the teen as his cat launched him towards the monster. He pulled back a crystalline fist. "Crystal Dragon's Ruby Wrecker!" Swinging the Morningstar like a fist, he slammed the attack right into its face.

The beast screeched savagely as it was sent reeling from the blow directly to its face. It fell backwards and landed on another building and caused it to collapse from the weight. Strangely, there was no movement or screams.

Wait, thought Kaoru. How come the people here aren't freaking out or screaming in terror? He looked at his Dragon Slayer and saw him too wrapped up to notice, so went towards the hotel again to check something out.

Meanwhile, Alex pulled one of his Gate Keys out. "Open- Gate of the Fire Bird: Phoenix!" The female spirit materialized in a plume of fire and lit the area faintly with her magical power alone.

"Hey Boss," she said happily. "Nice to see you haven't forgot about me. How was your date with Lucy?"

He rolled his eyes. "It was great, Phoenix. Now if you don't mind, can you help me take care of this thing?" he asked while pointing at the large plant monster.

"Gladly," she said all too happily while igniting her red wings. She took to the air and started raining fire down on the creature to distract it. Fortunately, she was doing exactly that and pissing it off as she burned away at its vines. Alex began focusing magic into his fist as he charged one of his strongest fire spells.

He looked at the fire bird spirit as he finished putting most of his power into the attack. "Phoenix!" he yelled. "Hit the bark in the middle of its chest with everything you've got!"

"Right!" she called with a thumbs-up. Flying up higher, she charged downwards and covered herself in flames. "Phoenix Comet!"

Alex jumped up with everything he had and pulled back his fist. "Fire Avatar: LION EMPEROR!" By throwing the punch, he launched a blazing lion head at the spot Phoenix was aiming for. His attack shattered the bark and vines, leaving the red core exposed. Phoenix's attack pierced the core like a bolt of fire that launched her right through it, where she skidded to a top on the ground that tore up the dirt road.

The creature was dead still for a moment, before it roared in agony and fell backwards (just barely missing Phoenix). It writhed on the ground in pain while roaring in pain. The core dissolved and made the vines connected to it start wilting. The vines that made up its body shriveled up as its claws turned to dust. Soon, the only sign that it had existed was the imprint on the ground, and the shriveled up plant life.

"WOOHOO!" cheered Phoenix. "I killed it!"

"It was a group effort, Phoenix," muttered Alex as he shook his head.

"Yeah, but I delivered the killing blow," she replied cheerfully. She then looked at him curiously. "Hey Boss, when are you gonna learn to summon two Spirits?" she asked him seriously.

"I can summon two Celestial Spirits?" he asked with wide eyes.

"Only if you're strong enough," she replied. She then brightened up with a big smile. "So can you summon Hydra for me?"

He face palmed. "First of all, I'm not gonna try right now. Second, you know I can't summon Hydra without water."

"Please~?" she begged with a pout.

"No!" he snapped.

"Alex!" yelled Kaoru as he flew over.

"Oh, hey little buddy." He gestured to the large pile of withered vegetation. "Killed the monster."

"Alex, you've gotta come see this!" he exclaimed. Grabbing Alex's hand he started flying off with his Dragon Slayer being dragged along. Phoenix, knowing a lost cause, faded back into the Spirit World.

"Kaoru, what's so important that you drag me to…" he looked up at the building his partner was dragging him to, "the hotel we're staying at?"

The little cat landed and let go of his partner. "It's because of this!" He ran into the small lobby and stopped. "Look." Sitting on the counter was a small bag. Alex opened it and saw a bunch of folded 100 Jewel notes. It looked like the 300,000 his reward promised.

"Okay?" he said uncertainly. "I see the money bag, and it's really sketchy that the money was just waiting here, but why does this matter?"

"Because it's more than the money!" snapped the cat. "Ring the bell."

Still uncertain, he rang the little bell and waited for a little while. The manager never came. Rather than wait, Kaoru walked around the counter. "Come see this."

Alex followed the feline's lead in confusion as he led him to the manager's office. When they got there, they found a room that looked ancient and overgrown with moss, as if nobody had lived there for years. All they did see was the set of clothing worn by the manager and a brown wig. His eyes widened. "He wasn't even a real manager?" he asked in confusion.

"That's right," replied the little cat. "Someone set you up!"

Alex realized something. "Wait, if I was set up… who's to say all four of us weren't set up?" Kaoru's eyes widened in a similar realization. Alex started running back to their room. "C'mon, Wendy's not far from here. We've gotta make sure she's alright!"

-Gajeel-

The Iron Dragon Slayer charged the large bat creature with his sword arm spinning. "Eat this!" He swung with the chainsaw like blade, but missed and grunted when it bit him on the other shoulder. His eyes widened when he felt it sucking his blood through the fangs. "Get the hell off me!" he yelled. He turned the sword into a club and whacked it on the head to get it away from him. "What the hell?!" he yelled at the slightly bleeding wounds on his shoulder. Guess it really does drink blood.

The bat wyvern roared at him and flew up into the air. Swinging his club arm, he launched knives made of sharp iron at the beast. Unfortunately, most of the blades bounced off of the scaly stomach. One managed to nick the creature on the underside of its wing. It fell down from the shock and shrieked furiously at the Fairy Tail wizard who only smirked at it.

"It gets much worse, trust me. 'Cuz I'm here to kill you!" He ran forwards with a club arm. "Now DIE!" Anticipating his attack, the wyvern opened its mouth and bit down on his arm. "Gihihi, I figured you'd try something like that." It looked at him weirdly before its eyes widened as its bottom jaw was blown off by a pillar of iron coming off from his club arm. Another pillar pushed its upper jaw off of his arm. "Don't think you're gonna be able to pull that shit on me again."

It gurgled pathetically and made a weird whining noise as it glared at him. "That's right, you're dead now!" He took a deep breath. "Iron Dragon's Roar!" He sent a spiraling twister of shredding metal at the large bat.

The creature jumped out of the way and landed on the side of a building. It hung from it on the wall glaring at him, with both of its claws and its talons holding it there. Covering his arm in iron spikes he sent a series of large spikes that pinned the monsters wings to the wall and a couple blades through its legs.

"There's nowhere to go, buddy," he taunted as his right forearm became his spiked sword. "Now this time, DIE!" With a primal roar, he drove the blade directly into the wyvern's skull. With another gurgle, and a groan, the creature became limp in its prison. The now dead weight tore the skin on its wings and the claws came loose as it fell from the wall.

"Gihihi," chuckled the Iron Dragon. "Way too easy." He looked around the city, noting the lack of sound. "Hey people!" he yelled. "I killed your monster!"

When nobody came, he went to the nearest house and kicked open the door. "Hey assholes! I-" He cut himself short when he realized that the house was just a hollow set of walls and a ceiling. "What the hell?!"

He ran out and over to another house, and had the same result with every house he went to. When he ran back to the hotel, he found the desk worker gone and a bag of money left on the front desk with his name on it. "What the hell is going on here?! Where the hell is everyone?!"

-Natsu-

Natsu and Happy were running as the snake monster chased them. As they ran, house lights began turning on as the two ran screaming from the too fast monster. "Why are we running?!" asked Happy.

"Because," yelled Natsu, "we can't risk leveling the town!"

"Forget that!" yelled the blue cat. "We gotta fight and kill it!"

Natsu thought for a moment before getting his usual grin. "You're right!" He stopped and turned on his heel. "Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" His fist connected head on with the charging serpent's face. It shrieked and twisted around was it recoiled from the attack. It reared up and stared Natsu down before bolting and wrapping around his body.

"Natsu!" screamed Happy. He tried going to his partner, but the serpent smacked him aside with its tail.

Satisfied that there would be no further interruptions, the serpent turned its attention to the struggling Dragon Slayer. It made a purring noise before opening its gaping maw wide as it loomed over him. Natsu gagged from the smell of its breath as it put the toothless maw over his head and shoulders. Happy opened his eyes and screamed at the sight of his best friend getting eaten by the monster. "NATSU!"

As the large beast stood stock still, it began glowing as it started bloating up. With a loud screech, it released Natsu and pulled away from him in terror. He was laughing with flames coming from his mouth. "What's wrong?" he asked with a laugh. "Too hot for ya?"

It growled as it glared at him in anger, and turned and tried to flee. It knew a lost cause when it saw one. "You're not going anywhere!" yelled Natsu as he jumped into the air. "Flames in my right hand, and flames in my left hand. Put 'em together…" He brought the two handfuls of fire together over his head as they formed a giant fireball. "Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame!" Swinging his now separate hands, he launched the massive fireball at the fleeing serpent and laughed as it collided and killed the monster… taking part of several buildings with the attack. "Now that's how you get it done!" boasted Natsu as he laughed maniacally.

The two then heard the familiar march of soldier's boots. "Aw crap…" he muttered. He started running with Happy grabbing onto him as he ran by him. "We gotta get it out of here!" he yelled frantically.

"Run for it, Natsu!"

As the two ran from the city guards, Jikan watched them from a nearby rooftop. "Congratulations, Fairy Tail Dragon Slayers," he said as his hair turned black after he took off his ring. "You have all surpassed my expectations."

"Indeed they have," came Ken'ichi's voice as he jumped on to the roof top. "Alexander has destroyed the plant golem I worked so hard to construct."

"And little Wendy-chan killed my pet," added Daisuke as he faded out of a cloud of smoke. "It kinda sucks," he whined. "I really wanted to keep it."

"Unfortunately, we're not in this for pets," chuckled Ken'ichi. "We're here to watch the Dragon Slayers kill monsters we pick out for them."

"No," replied the black haired leader. "This was simply a test. A test to make sure those Dragon Slayers were the right candidates for what is next."

"I thought we only needed two Dragon Slayers," Ken'ichi said as he picked at his nails.

"Two is necessary, but if we have a couple more, it wouldn't be any trouble for our cause." He pulled out his pocket watch and stared at the dragon embossed on the front. "We'll be able to exact vengeance on those who hurt us; all of us."

Author's Notes: Okay, it sure has been a while, hasn't it? Sorry, but it's harder writing a custom chapter than you'd think. But I like how I managed to make a fight for the four Dragon Slayers. Until I can manage to finish another chapter. Which is probably gonna be a while since school is back full time.
