Chapter Twenty-Five (I dont own Inuyasha)

Kagome left the two demons in the front. 'I can't wait to see Kikyo,' was her main thought as she entered the room. 'But even though it was a misunderstanding could I forgive the hurt Sesshomaru caused me?'

'I wouldn't,' her inner demon replied with a huff.

'Of course you wouldn't,' Kagome replied as her smile widen. Her crimson eye looked around her closet for something to wear.

'Maybe you should wear that dress Sess picked out for you,' her inner demon commented quietly this time. Her eyes moved to the short black dress with the crimson spiders around the waist. Would it be too much? It wasn't like she forgave him yet. She hadn't had a chance to wear it either. Kagome's fang gently bit the tip of her lips as she thought about it. 'Come on it's not that hard,' her demon complained. 'And it will look killer with you knee high platforms.'

"You might have a point there," Kagome replied out loud as she looked to the boots her demon brought up.

'Then get ready!" It exclaimed and a smile appeared on her lips as she grabbed the dress and went around the room looking to make the best outfit she could come up with.

Sesshomaru thought long and hard as he drove back into the city. He wanted some special something to show he truly cared for her. She didn't seem to be one for jewels, or money. She loved to help her friend and that fox demon. There also was…

That was it! He knew what he could do! His foot hit the gas petal a little harder as he sped off into the city. Only one thought rang in his head.

Kagome seemed to dance down the stairs toward the main entrance with her black dress that stopped at the middle of her thighs, the crimson spiders shown from the waist. Her legs stood out with her black knee high platforms that were around 5 inches. Her hair was pulled up in a high ponytail with a few strand of hair left out to frame her pale face. A beautiful deep purple shadowed her eyes with glittery eyeliner, and her fangs poked out from crimson lips. Her ruby eyes seemed to just glow with life.

"What are you wearing?" Her father's voice rang from behind her. She stop on a random step and spun around to see his shocked face. He had his usual black dress pants, but wore a royal purple dress shirt.

"Clothes," she replied with a laugh. "Honestly father I thought you could see that."

"Kagome," he exclaimed as crossed his arms.

"Yes father," she spoke as she sent him an Innocence look. "Are you still coming with me to the party?" He groaned as his pale hand lightly touched his forehead. How did he end up here with her like this?

'Well she might have been different if you stayed and raised her,' his beast told him.

"Yes I'm still going," he replied. Her mouth opened but he cut her off. "I don't want you wearing that dress out though."

"Why not?" She asked trying to hide a smirk. She knew fully well he had hoped Sesshomaru picked out the other dress for her. But she also love how the dress seemed to scream the inner her. All that was heard was a slight growl. "Aren't I allowed to dress in what I see fit? I'm old enough right?"

"I didn't say any of that," he told her as his eyes narrowed at her to see the fake innocence look she had.

"Then why?"

"Let's just get going," he spoke changing the topic. "The sooner we get there the sooner we could get this over with."

"Alrighty Papa," She gave him a bright smile. He just hoped nothing else would happen today.

Kikyo moved around with a smile. The ballroom within the Lord of the Western Lands was filled with golds and crimson ribbons. There on one side was a snack table filled with food and drinks. Another corner was a band playing music. The curtains were open to overlook the huge garden. Kikyo even was happy she found a place that made beautiful webbed table cloths. All her hard work shone as the guest started to arrive. The only thing was there was no Sesshomaru or Kagome.

"Everything looks wonderful Kikyo," Inuyasha said as he wrapped his arm around her waist pulling her to him just to give her a light kiss on the nose.

"You think so?" She giggled before her brown orbs darted around the room.

"I know so," he smiled just as his golden orbs looked up to see two people walk into the ballroom. The girl's crimson orbs looked around the room in amazement as her hand left her father's arm. "And I think the guest of honor agrees," he pointed to the birthday girl who seemed to snap out of her amazement to be greeted by people.

"She looks amazing," Kikyo smile as she looked at the black dress.

"Now I wonder where my ass of a brother disappeared too," Inuyasha commented with a roll of his eyes. Kikyo ignored it and pulled him along toward the girl she wanted to see. "Hey!" Inuyasha grumble as he released that he was being dragged around people.

"Kagome," Kikyo exclaimed as she let go of her mate and hugged the younger girl.

"Kikyo," Kagome gasped as she hugged the woman tightly like she needed the woman's support more than ever. "I've missed you," Kagome's voice spoke in the other's ear.

"I've missed you to," Kikyo told her as she moved back a bit. "Let me get a good look at you." Kagome stepped back and did a little spin and a slightly bow at the end. "You look so beautiful."

"I will agree with that," Inuyasha spoke with a smirk as he eyed his friends outfit too.

"Inu," her childish voice exclaimed as she threw herself into his arms. A toothy grin came across his face as he caught her and spun her around in the air. Once she was placed on her feet he hugged her tightly. One of his clawed hands lightly touched her head as he looked down at her with such emotion.

"Happy Birthday Kags," he whispered to her causing her heart to skip a beat. Her crimson eyes looked up to stare at the golden ones that almost reminded her of her boyfriend yet were not. They still held that brotherly love that she craved for.

"Thank You," she said as she looked between Kikyo and Inuyasha with her arms still around him. "This is all amazing."

"Sesshomaru helped a lot too," Kikyo piped up.

"Well he would have done more if that surprise meeting wasn't at lunch," Inuyasha comment with a roll of his eyes. Kagome looked at them with wide eyes. She moved to look but her father had been dragged across the hall talking with a few business people.

"What do you mean at lunch?" Kagome asked quietly as she pulled away by stayed near them.

"Well he was help with getting this set up," Kikyo looked at her in confusion. "He was with us most of the time until he got a phone call about a meeting he had to be at which was around lunch."

"And he came back growling," Inuyasha pointed out.

"Oh that reminds me," Kikyo's eyes looked over her friend in concern. "What happened between the two of you? Sesshomaru made it seem like you were so angry with him."

"Oh," Kagome looked to the floor with a cherry like blush appearing on her face. "It's nothing."

"Don't say it was nothing Kags," Inuyasha scolded her. "My brother may not show much emotion but he never shows that much emotion over nothing."

"I just misunderstood what had happened," she murmured but the other two was just able to understand.

"What would you misunderstand?" Kikyo and Inuyasha asked at the same time sounding equally confused.

"That is a long story I rather not tell at my birthday party," Kagome gave them a small smile. Kikyo frowned as Inuyasha's jaw dropped.

"You seriously aren't going to tell us?" Inuyasha exclaimed as his yellow orbs widened in disbelief.

"Inu," Kikyo hissed causing the sliver ears to fall flat on Inuyasha's head. "We are here to listen when you are ready," Kikyo told Kagome as she gently touched Kagome's arm.

"Thanks Kikyo," Kagome's told the woman gratefully. Her crimson orbs scanned the huge room with all the guest. "Where is Sesshomaru?"

Kikyo looked around just as puzzled. "He hasn't come back since Kikyo kick us out with orders," Inuyasha commented as he too looked around.

"I only told him to talk to Kags, he should be back by now," Kikyo said more to herself than anyone else. Kagome looked to the front door in concern. That looked didn't get past Inuyasha.

"I wouldn't worry about it Kags," Inuyasha waved his hand. "Enjoy your party. I bet some of the guest can't wait to talk to you." He point over all around. She sighed but nodded.

"Hi Kagome," a voice spoke from behind her as she grabbed herself a drink. She turned around to face a tall male with reddish orange hair. His bright green eyes catch hers and she gasped.

"Shippo," she placed her glass down on the table and moved closer to look at him.

"Yup, I'm all grown up," He laughed before he threw his arms around her.

"Shippo," she squealed as she jumped wrapping her arms around him. He laughed as his arms wrapped around her waist holding her off the ground. "Oh, I missed you so much."

"I missed you too mama," he whispered in her ear.

"How are you here?" She whispered as her head lay on his shoulder.

"Inuyasha finally tracked me down to tell me to come home for your birthday," he told her. "Your boyfriend helped since he was the only one to stay in touch with me."

"My boyfriend," she said confused as she moved to look back in his eyes.

"Yea, you know Lord Sesshomaru," he teased and a light pink appeared on her pale face.

"How did you know?" She asked as he finally placed her onto her feet once more.

"A little dog told me," he gave her a wink.

She was about to comment back when there was a bark and clicking of nail running right toward them. She didn't get to see what was happening when a white puff of fur attacked her feet playfully. Her crimson eyes looked down to see the white wolf with a pink collar. "Asami," she gasped with tears in her eyes.
