The Floo Powder Accident

Chapter 25

Okay, let me start from the beginning of what's been happening and why I haven't updated for a while again... Sorry! I had camp last week as you know but then again, I had a five-day thing that took up all of my day hours. I only had so little hours of free time and I couldn't use them for writing sadly. :( But at last the chapter has came! I'm so sorry for leaving you there, with no update. I hope you enjoy this one. (Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or the Hunger Games.)

Katniss had woken up in a horrible mood. She was tired, like the sun had already gotten to her. Like the games had begun, but there weren't anymore for her. She would live a simple life here in the Wizarding world or the muggle world. As she stepped out into the hall, after she had gotten ready, Prim was about to knock on the door. Katniss' little sister smiled broadly.

"Katniss, guess what!" Prim yelled like the young girl she was, at least she didn't have to live in "fear" for the rest of her life.

"Huh?" Katniss replied, leading Prim down the halls to the living room.

"So, Professor Dumbledore - the headmaster of Hogwarts, the Wizarding school - said that I could come if a wand chose me! You could even get a wand I bet," Prim squealed triumphantly. Her sister had something to be happy about finally. It was good, that she could just be happy now, free of worries.

"Great," Katniss forced a smile on her face. She was in no mood to talk much still, she was however excited for her sister. Peeta seemed to already know as he began diving in on how this great wizard came and talked to Prim. It made Katniss seem slightly freaked out, that they were all excited.

This is going to be a normal life after all, Katniss complained in her head. What if Peeta got a wand and I didn't? Or the opposite, wouldn't that just make us feel left out almost? Or if Prim didn't even and her hopes gave up...

Katniss swirled away from her thoughts as she stabbed a pancake with her fork. "So when and how are we going to get these wands?"

"Can we go today?" Prim asked Katniss, trying to put on a serious face.

"Uh, sure," Katniss replied. "We'll need directions or something." Prim and Peeta nodded at the same time, it was as though they were thinking the same thing.

Katniss finished her breakfast and headed outside the tent. The sun instantly blasted on her, making her go slightly blinded by the light. Being cooped up in the tent you'd think there was a lot of light then. With her hands above her eyes, sheltering from the sun, she led her way into the Burrow. Katniss saw Mrs. Weasley cast a spell on the dishes, doing themselves.

"Mrs. Weasley?" Katniss spoke, unsure if she should ask her. After all, they had never talked before.

"Yes, um," Mrs. Weasley tried to think of the girl's name.

"Katniss," she sighed to herself. "Do you know how to get wands? My sister... Prim said that Professor Dumbledore, I think it was, said that if a wand "chose" her that she could go to Hogwarts..." Katniss bit her lip as she tried to get the facts straight I her head.

"Oh, yes!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed to herself. "We can drive you there if you like, it'd be a bit of a long drive but it's worth it. I'm not going to use the Floo Powder for quite some time by the... incident." Katniss nodded as Mrs. Weasley finished her sentence.

"We can go whenever," Mrs. Weasley shuffled back to the dishes, looking at a recipe book.

Before any of the three, Prim, Peeta, and Katniss, knew they had arrived to Diagon Alley. Wizards and witches of all ages were there, running into shops and buying items. It was soon to start the Hogwarts year anyways. Katniss looked around, staring at all the shopping windows. She finally caught sight of "Ollivander's" that Mrs. Weasley had told them about.

"There it is," Katniss mumbled to the other two. She led the way towards the little shop. The old shop's door opened as she pushed with little force. The light was dim with shelves of wand containers. A wooden counters, almost in the middle of the room. Beside the counter was a fancy staircase.

They all strolled into the shop, all of them falling silent. A ladder slid, revealing a man who had grey hair. He stepped off the ladder and stood at the desk. "I wonder..." He spoke to himself. "Come," he waved his hand mysteriously. Prim pointed to herself with question until he nodded. "Lets see..."

He went back into the room filled with million of boxes. Ollivanders chose one box and brought it back to Prim. The old man handed her the wand within the box, she held it. "Wave," he said with a soft voice.

Prim waved. "That does perfectly," Ollivanders whispered, almost not audible to hear. Prim hadn't noticed anything that happened. "That's Elder wood, dragon core, unyielding, and twelve and a half inches." Prim handed the wand over, boxing the wand again. Prim reached into her pocket, Mrs. Weasley had given her money to pay for the wands.

"Thank you," she murmured as she walked back to Katniss.

The three returned to the Burrow. All of them held boxes, a wand in each one. Each of them were unique and different. Prim's was a light brown, that curved like Bellatrix Lestrange's. Peeta's resembled Neville Longbottom's, while Katniss' looked like Luna Lovegood's. They were all somehow different though. They all fit perfectly in each hand, a perfect grasp.

The small trio headed into the giant tent, only to have Peeta leave quickly. He still had to work. Peeta would have to work almost everyday for the next month... Katniss could only imagine how wiped out he would be afterwards.

Katniss began hunting down jobs for herself while Prim had headed back to Diagon Alley with Mrs. Weasley and the Weasley's. Prim had received a Hogwarts' letter, telling her she'd attend her first year there. As she was a bit older, she'd be having Professors give her extra homework and textbooks to study to catch up with her age group. Ron and Harry were only one year ahead so Ginny would in her year once she caught up. All of them had some catching up to do.

Peeta had given her money to transfer into the Wizarding world's currency to use, not wanting to spend Mrs. Weasley. They were already helping them too much. Once Prim had walked into Gringotts, Ron had led her to a counter and was helping her get money. Ginny had tagged along with them, talking to Prim about things. She was helping her know some spells already, teaching her how to swish and flick.

They were soon exiting the Wizarding banks filled with goblins, a small sack of galleons. Ron and Ginny were going to help her find all the shops and books she needed as Mrs. Weasley and the twins got their things, as well as Ron's and Ginny's. The day had gone pretty smooth as they entered Flourish and Blotts last. Ron groaned as he saw all the books, the last she had too. It was the longest list he had ever seen, especially since they were all bringing them home. The room seemed to pile up on them as they grasped each old and new book that Prim needed.

As they exited the book shop, they had more than ten books piled up on each other in a new cauldron. Everything was packed inside the large cauldron, making all three of them help carry it slightly. It felt like a thousand kilograms! At least they found Mrs. Weasley and the twins quickly.

"Alright, let's go pack it all back in the car... If it'll fit!" Mrs. Weasley beamed slightly. They all strolled to the car, Prim needing guidance because the books didn't allow her to see. Passerby's, that were muggles, looked at them all strangely, as though they had done something very odd. It was only normal in the Wizarding world to have piles of books apparently, or no one has seen it before.

"Great, it fits," Mrs. Weasley slammed the boot shut and rushed everyone into the vehicle. She luckily knew how to drive a muggle car and had gotten her license. Her parents did know that it would come in use one day and it sure did.

They all drove home for an hour until they reached their destination. Ron helped Prim carry all the books into the tent, where they saw Peeta zoned out on the couch and Katniss' eyes scanning a newspaper for jobs. "I'm back," Prim said as Ron and her dropped the books.

"How was it?" Katniss asked, not letting her eyes of the papers.

"It was good, I just probably have a lot of catching up to do... All of these books, I'll probably start reading them today," Prim explained.

Ron nodded, "I'm going to find Harry, bye Prim." Ron waved goodbye.

"Bye," she smiled happily and took the first book on the stack. A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch (J.K. Rowling's books from the Harry Potter series, not mine.) Prim led her way to an armchair, sitting down and opening the first page.

So it's a medium-sized chapter. I was originally going to have it shorter but I'm glad it's longer for all of you guys. I'll hopefully post again this week. If I don't my apologies, I'm sorry for any grammar mistakes too.

Review, thanks! :)
