Alright, once more down the revision hole! And that sounded dirty, okay, so after Knives has been released he will rest right? Hahahahahahahaha have you met Knives? Oh right, fictional character, anyway I fixed up the grammar and the "..." issue that certain people had with my work because they were right. ... is a pain in the ass. Except in author notes...yeah...
Season 2-Prologue 2
Devil May Care
The worst enemy is the one Within Ourselves
Knives was in the gym at Beacon for the fifth day in a row since his release from the hospital. The room stank of sweat and desperation and he wouldn't have it any other way as he hung from that bar by his legs and did curls again and again. "You know normally when someone is released from the hospital they don't spend their recovery time in a gym doing rigorous exercise, they're in physical therapy making sure they are okay." Luxus said as he walked up with his hair drawn back in a ponytail, wearing a T-shirt and track pants, "Even if your wounds healed in the hospital, there is no way that they didn't leave damage; you should be taking it easy instead of pushing yourself to the brink of exhaustion."
"Well I'm not normal people, I fell because I was weak, so I'm making sure that doesn't happen again by pushing my body to the limit, and then a little further." He said as he flipped off the bar and did a handstand. Slowly he began to lower himself to the floor until his chin was an inch away and then rose up. He continued to do this, his body and muscles shaking from the exertion of physical ability and the patience of going slow to maintain balance, rather than trying to belt them out and falling over.
"Well we knew that!" Caradin said as he finished his 300th rep with his weights. "We all have to do that, I'm honestly surprised Deverou isn't here wasting away with the rest of us!" He finished lifting the bar and setting it on the prongs before sitting up and wiping his forehead with a towel. "I mean it's not like this is way too rigorous."
"You just did 300 reps of 400 pounds!" Luxus screamed, "You think that's enough?"
"Not even," he replied, "You should train too, until you can take Red King's recoil without taking damage from it."
"I guess I should," he replied, "but I'm not really a heavy-weight like you two."
"What's the matter ruffles? I thought you were tougher than that?" The blonde said as she walked up, her fists taped over for training.
"Hello, Yang. You have perfect timing." Knives said as he finished his regimen and flipped back onto his feet before removing weights from Caradin's bench-press bar and propping the bar on his shoulders and began squats. "I guess you could help train him?"
Luxus looked at Knives, "You planned this didn't you?"
"So what if I did? We all need to be stronger for the upcoming tournament." He replied, "And Yang just happens to be powerful enough to harden your body to the blows as you also strengthen your close quarters."
"It sounds a lot like you're letting her beat me up." He replied.
"Aw, come on Luxus, now I'm feeling like you don't love me." She replied with a smile.
"Last time I checked, I was your girlfriend Luxus," Newt said walking in, "Something you want to tell me?" She finished cracking her knuckles.
Luxus looked to Knives, "Did I ever tell you how much I hate you?"
He pressed hard to stand up before going down again, "You may have mentioned it."
Yang looked at him, "Come on lover-boy, it's time to teach you to dodge and how to take a hit."
"Uh, don't you find that statement a bit contradicting?" He asked.
"No." Newt replied before punching him into the ring, "Now get up. And remember, I'm doing this because I love you, so think of it as a game!"
"Oh joy." He said standing and grabbing the ropes and pulled himself up. "Let's get started then.
In order to Rise, you must first be Broken.
Deverou stood with Xich in the woods near a waterfall, the crashing water deafening and blocking out all noise around them. "Are you sure you want this cousin?" Xich asked. "You are already strong, and to undergo the Trial of Hell…"
"I said I would do it, cousin. Use your semblance, I must fight you this way to overcome fear. You said that I must put my team before Weiss so that is what we will do, use your Dominance of Fear and make it so I can fight without fear."
Xich's golden eye developed black lines that intersected his pupil making an X and his silver eye grew an extra ring. "You will undergo absolute Hell, it will break you or it will make you stronger."
"To get stronger you must first be put to your limit; be broken down. I am ready Xichmael."
Even if the Devil May Care, Man will not
Dreyer Rayfor sat there in contempt as the mercenary before him continued to eat the strawberry sundae with zeal. He wore a white shirt and belt, with blue sheaths for his blades. Blue pants with black diamonds at the bottom, and a long blue trench coat with a white headband wrapped around his arm with a black Ouroboros. He set the weapons on the desk, a K-bar knife with a revolver barrel in the middle of the blade, the handle of the knife being the grip of the gun. A long-sword, that he'd seen shift from an SMG at the beginning. He set the glass dish down and looked at the butler who went to fix another. "So you want me to protect your dumbass son?"
"No, I want you to kill this Bloody Knives. I believe he is in a team with my son; the LEADER even!" He rubbed his temples, "I refuse to have my son teamed with some criminal! I want you to kill him as the Frost, then as Romeo you will join the Academy and work with my son to make his team the best at Beacon."
"Yeah, to be honest I couldn't give a rat's ass about you or your son. The Devil may care, but I don't. So if we're done here." He began to stand until he saw the Lien and the contract. "Does, does this say free strawberry sundaes at Heyman Sweets?"
"It does indeed, all you need to do is sign." Dreyer replied.
"Mister." He scrawled his name on the paper, "You got yourself a deal."
Well that was fun, Romeo the "Sweet Tooth Killer" I think it has a nice ring to it don't yo...what do you mean it's been taken? The fuck is Twisted Metal? A racing combat game? They make those? No Tyler I don't think it's dumb, get my money we're buying it! Later y'all review and read more please!
