Whenever they are out in public, Takeru notices that Kotoha always walks two steps behind him. He doesn't know if Kotoha's aware of it, herself.
One day, they strolling down a street in Ginza, perusing over gifts for Jii's birthday, when Takeru suddenly pauses his steps, and Kotoha nearly runs into him. He ignores her stammering apologies, and grabs her hand, ordering her in a gruff tone to walk beside him, not behind him.
After all, she is no longer just a vassal to him.
