Gray stood frozen as he stared at Master Makarov with wide eyes, while Natsu quickly stepped forward.

"What the hell do you mean?" He shouted at Makarov,

Erza tried to place a calming hand on his shoulder, but he quickly shook it off. "How could she have forgotten everything... everyone?"

Makarov slowly shook his head, "I don't know, I have already sent jet to fetch Porlyusica, she should be able to help enlighten us."

Natsu gritted his teeth and let out a loud roar as he turned away from Makarov and quickly punched the wall, making a small crater. Makarov didn't even flinch as he watch Natsu let out another roar of frustration before clutching his face in his hands.

Gray stared hard at the floor with wide eyes, he reached a hand out to steadying himself but stumbled back a little before finding the wall and leaning his back against it.

"Now now boys, don't be too discouraged." Makarov said in a slow calm voice, "It is terrible what has happened but we must keep in mind that she is still alive and she is unharmed, she can still live a happy life here among us. Make new memories…"

Loki turned and looked at him with a sad frown, "Master," he said in a small voice, "She had come so far…"

"It is true, during her short time here with us, Valkyrie was able to face and overcome many of her demons, but if we are correct in assuming she has forgotten everything from the last few months, then she will have to fight those same battles once again."

Gray let out an unamused chuckle, drawing everyone's gaze. "Gray?" Loki asked stepping toward his friend slowly.

"You don't know the demons she has had to face." Gray's voice was cold and the air filled with frigid snowflakes, "Facing them nearly destroyed her."

Gray pushed away from the wall and faced the others with an angry glare, "How can you just except her to do it all over again?" his body rippled with his icy magic, freezing the walls and floor of the hallway and covering everyone near him in a thin layer of frost.

"You think we don't know!?" Natsu grabbed Gray by his shirt collar, "You think we don't understand… That 'I' don't understand?"

Gray roughly shook Natsu off, "You don't!"

Natsu froze letting his eyes go wide, "What do you mean?"

Gray shook his head in frustration rubbing a hand over his face, "I'm sorry Natsu… but you don't understand everything."

"What the hell don't I understand about my own sister?" Natsu shouted his anger instantly returning, "What do you know that I don't?"

"It's not my place to say," Gray shouted back, "I shouldn't of said anything, just forget it." He shoved his hands in to his pockets with a heavy sigh as he turned to leave.

"Gray?" Erza shouted suddenly, causing him to stop but not look back. "Are you not even going to see her?"

"What's the point?" Gray whispered quietly, "She won't even know me."

"You're just going to turn your back on her?" Natsu shouted at Gray's retreating back, "Now when she needs you the most?"

Gray continued walking not saying a word, as he walked through the guild and out into the dark storm.

Leaving an icy trail in his wake and a small blizzard swirling around him.

I was sitting back in the infirmary of the guild called Fairy Tail, the young women Juvia sat in a chair beside me and the young girl called Wendy was slowly moving her glowing blue hands over my still chilled body.

"I'm glad we were able to find you before you got pneumonia." Wendy said with a big smile,

I didn't say anything in response, I was still unclear on how I knew these people and how I had gotten here… heck I was unclear about basically everything.

"Ok she should be alright, now." Wendy said letting out a big sigh as she dropped her arms, just as a young woman with long white hair came into the room holding a bundle of clothes.

"Why don't you go rest, Wendy." She said kindly to the small girl, "You have been here for days."

"I will in a moment, Mira. Let me just clean up the medical supplies and then I'll go." The young women named Mira, gave Wendy's shoulder a gentle squeeze before turning to look at me.

"Here Valkyrie," she placed the small bundle of clothes on the night stand beside me, "I brought you some of your clothes."

"My clothes?" I asked in confusion,

Mira's smile faltered for as second before brightening up again, "Yes, you have been with us for a while now so I just went over and grabbed you some of your essential items, for while you are staying in the infirmary."

I scrunched my eye brows as I looked at the clothes, "There must be some mistake." I said in confusion.

Mira frowned slightly, "What's the matter?"

"Do you not like them?" Juvia cocked her head in question,

"It's not that, but I would never have bought these for myself. They are way to… beautiful and… funky." I stuttered as I lifted the bright pink skinny jeans up and looked at them, "I have never had any style other than plain white or black t-shirts, jeans and sneakers."

Wendy giggled from the other side of the room, "Gray was with you when you went shopping, since you were…"

"NOTHING!" Mira suddenly cut Wendy off and smiled widely at me, causing me to blink in confusion. I looked at Wendy as a look of realization flashed on her face and her eyes grew wide as she looked at me in horror.

"O –oh, umm… forgive me. I just remembered I have something I have to do. Please excuse me." Wendy gave a small polite bow before bolting from the room.

As she rushed out the door, a small old man and a women with long red hair who was wearing a heavy armor breast plate walked in. "What is the matter with Wendy?" the redhead asked in concern.

"I will go see." Juvia stood up and placed a gentle hand on my forearm, "I will return, try to rest."

I gave her a small nod and watched her leave the room shutting the door behind her. I tensed up slightly, obviously there was something they were keeping from me, something that Wendy had started to say but Mira had stopped her, if they were really my friends why would they do that. 'I still have to be carefully.'

The little old man hopped up onto the chair Juvia had been sitting it and cleared his throat. "Hello, my dear." He said in a kind voice, "How are you feeling?"

"Other than not knowing who you are or basically anything else…" I shrugged, "I'm good."

The red head chuckled slightly as she folded her arms over her breast plate. "Humor is still intact, I see."

"Yes, that is fortunate." The old man also smiled, "Valkyrie, I'm Master Makarov. The guild master of the Fairy Tail guild and this is Erza Scarlet; could you please tell us what the last thing you remember is?"

I placed a hand on my forehead as I focused, "I remember being on the run… I was looking for…" I stopped and blinked at them, 'how much should I tell them?'

"You were searching for Natasha," Master Makarov said gently, "She was the Fairy dragon who trained you in the use of the ancient dragon slayer magic."

I stared at him in shock, feeling panic rise in my chest. I started to move away from him in the bed, getting ready to bolt for the door. "How… how do you know all that?"

"Do not be afraid, Valkyrie," he said still being gentle, "You were the one to share that information with me."

"But I don't-" I stopped in midsentence as the pain shot threw my head as I tried to remember ever talking with him before. I grunted as I clutched my head, a series of images flashed through my head.

Standing in front of the Fairy Tail guild for the first time, sitting in Master Makarov's office, finally looking backwards into a mirror seeing the new guild mark on my lower back. I was smiling widely with tear streaked cheeks, and master Makarov was also in the refection smiling at me.

"Valkyrie?" Mira asked as she placed a hand on my shoulder, I quickly jerked away from her touch, still unsure if I could trust her, when she was clearly trying to keep something from me.

The look of hurt on her face surprised me, "I- I'm sorry." She said as she pulled her hand back and held it to her chest with a small frown.

I looked back at Master Makarov, "I –I saw flashes."

Master rubbed his chin in thought, "Flashes of what?"

"I think, memories." I looked at him again, "When I first arrived here and you gave me the guild mark."

Masters eyes light up, "That's is extremely good news, my dear it means that your memories are coming back."

"But they are silent," I rubbed my forehead as I played the broken pieces over in my head again of both Juvia and the master. "Why can't I hear anything in my memories? They are like still photos."

Master shook his head gently, "It will take time I'm sure." He patted my forearm gently, "For now let's focus on getting you better physically shall we?"

Erza stepped forward and notice me tense up at her approach. "You need not be afraid," she said in a firm voice, "We are all your friends and we are here to help you."

"Friends, hu?" I smirked, glancing at Mira again.

""Why do you find that hard to believe?" Master Makarov asked me,

I let my eyes fall on Mira and search her face for a second, "What was Wendy about to say?"

Mira face paled slightly, but she tried to wave me off with an awkward smile, "Oh she was just…"

"I wonder…" I cut her off, "What could you possibly have to hide if you truly are my friends?"

Mira flinched back in surprise before hanging her head, "I was just trying to protect you."

"I don't need you to protect me." I snapped, I knew how harsh I sounded but I had to be sure I was really safe here and if they were hiding something from me then something wasn't right about this guild after all.

"What happened, Mira?" Erza asked,

"Wendy was about to talk about..." she said flashing her eyes back and forth between me and the master, as if trying to relay a secret message. "A -and I just felt that she might not be ready to deal with that yet, not after… everything."

Both the master and Erza shared a look of understanding before turning back to face me. "So you do have something to hide." I shouted as I blasted a cloud of my fairy dust out under the sheet and then quickly jumped out of bed and bolting for the door.

"Valkyrie wait!" Mira shouted after me, but I ignored her and quickly swung open the door only to come face to face with… "Natsu?"

I stared at him in a mixture of horror and joy, he was taller than me now wearing a large bright orange and red hoodie with light blue worn out jeans. His face flashed with surprised as he stared back at me with his fist raised high to knock on the door.

He looked so much older since the last time I had seen him. He had been so young when I left him with Igneel, but I knew instantly it was him. His hair still matched mine, messy and bright pink. His face was so lean and mature, he looked just like our dad; except for his eyes; they were moms, bright and beautiful and full of innocents.

I felt hot painful tears fill my eyes as I stared at him unmoving, 'How was he here? He can't be here? I can't be near him it's too dangerous.'

My mind was spinning out of control with my worries, but my heart… my heart that had been broken for so long… broken, burned, and left abandon. It was starting to feel…

I slowly reached out my hand hesitantly as first, he let his arm slowly fall to his side as he watched me quietly. He watched as my hand inched forward and gently touched his cheek.

I choked back a sob as I felt his skin, confirming that he was really standing in fount of me, "Natsu?" I sobbed, "Natsu? Is it really?"

I placed both my hands on either side of his face holding it tight in my hands as I memorized is face, he had a heart wrenching look on his face but he gave me a small crooked smile and covered my hands with both of his.

"Yes, Valkyrie. It's really me." His bright eyes glimmered slightly, with a few unshed tears.

I surprised myself by laughing and sobbing at the same time as I clutched him tightly to me in a crushing hug. He didn't hesitate to hug me back gently rubbing my back in a comforting way as I cried.

"How?" I finally pulled back to ask, "How are you here?"

"I am a guild member." he had both his hands on my shoulders and looked like he wanted to say more but held himself back and squeezed my shoulder instead, "You really have lost your memories?"

I blinked at him finally filling in the pieces, "I've been staying with you, haven't I?" I stated it more like a fact than a question, as I quickly turned to face the Master, Erza and Mira who had been quietly watching us. "That's what you were keeping me from? You didn't want me to know my brother was here?"

"No Valkyrie please let me explain." Master Makarov started to say,

"You haven't been staying with me." Natsu answered, confused.

"Natsu!" Erza snapped loudly causing me to jump and Natsu looked at her with an annoyed look.

"I won't keep things from her." Natsu snapped, "She is freaking out enough as it is. She needs to know she can trust us to help her get better."

"Enough." Master Makarov said firmly causing Natsu to stop, "Listen to me, both of you." He gestured to both me and Natsu,

"You need to understand that Valkyrie has gone through a terrible experience and will need time and rest, we need to share things with her gently and in small douses so she won't be overwhelmed and relapse into a worse state of mind. Do you both understand?"

I stepped closer to Natsu feeling unsure and tugged on the hem of his sweater. Natsu looked down at me in confusion but then he gave a tight nod, "Yes, we understand."

"Good now please get back into bed," Master gestured to the bed, "You need to be resting and Natsu please sit next to her. We can't have her always trying to run away in her condition."

I clutched to Natsu's hem tighter as he lead me back to the bed, He turned and looked back at me over his shoulder scrunching his eyes brows, "Its ok, I'll be right here."

I hesitated slightly but finally decided that if he was here than it should be safe, maybe Igneel was also here. Maybe even Natasha.

I crawled back into bed and then reached for Natsu again, he looked at me seeming still confused before scooting the chair closer and holding my outstretched hand. His face was stern and serious as he gave me a tight nod of enragement and I nodded back before facing the master again.

It has been a whole week since I woke up in the Fairy tail guild, I had been staying in the infirmary but today I would finally leave and be moving in with Natsu. Over the past week Natsu had been with me almost constantly, at first he seemed unsure of how to act and what to say.

But over time we started to find a rhythm all our own and thou it was still weird to be here with him after so long, I found myself feeling happy.

I was sitting on the already made bed, wearing plain jeans, a plain black t-shirt and I had my hair pulled up into a high pony tail. I was just finishing tying my sneakers as the door opened and Natsu walked in with a small smile.

"Hey how you feel'in?" He asked as he pushed his hand up to my forehead checking my temperature.

I shrugged slightly, "Still can't remember much of anything, but I am remembering each new day. So that's a pulse, right?"

Natsu nodded as he shoved his hands into his pockets and looked around, his gaze landing on the clothes Mira had brought me on my first day. "Still not ready to wear color?" he smirked at me,

I followed his gaze before quickly picking up the bright clothes and shoving them into my bag, "I can't believe I ever wore something so loud, I bet I looked ridiculous."

Natsu laughing lightly and moved to look at the stuff on the shelves, "I donno I thought it all matched your personality very well."

I stopped packing stuff away and looked up at the mirror in fount of me, I studied my reflection with a sad face. "I guess I'm not that girl anymore."

Natsu looked back at me his face falling slightly, before he cleared his throat. "Sooo, anyone come by to see you while I was gone." He asked casually changing the subject.

I shook my head to clear away the depressing thoughts before turning to fully face him, "You have asked me that every single time you have come to see me, I thought you said I was safe here."

Natsu shook his head, "It's nothing like that. It is safe here, I told you we hit the dark guild pretty hard, they will leave us alone for a while and you will be safer here than anywhere else."

"Mmmhmm… and this all happened in the time that I don't remember." I sighed and Natsu nodded with a serious face.

"Well, if it's not my safety… then it must be," I blinked in surprise with a small smile, "Natsu?"

"Hu?" he mumbled as he tapped at a medical bottle full of glowing blue liquid absentmindedly,

"Who are you hoping will come see me?" Natsu's head quickly jerked up in surprise,

"Ah ha!" I said in victory as I pointed my finger at him, "There is someone you want to come see me."

"What? N- No there isn't." he stuttered holding his hands up in surrendered.

"Aw, come on." I whined slightly, "Who is it?

Natsu smirked at me and lit one of his fists on fire, "You beat me in a fight and maybe I'll tell you."

"That's another thing, you have been trying to get me to agree to fight you since the day I woke up, why?" I crossed my arms over my chest, "I don't much like fighting unless I have no other choice."

Natsu's face went serious again and his fire went out, "Never mind, it's nothing."

"What's nothing?" a women's voice floated into the room just before Natsu's blonde girlfriend, Lucy walked in.

Natsu let out a heavy sigh again as he shook his head, "Nothing, Luc. Let's just go." He walked over to the night stand and picked up my bag, "You ready?"

I nodded and watched as Natsu extended his hand to Lucy and she quickly took it. It was weird to see them together, this girl I didn't know and my brother. I sighed and looked around the room that had served as my temporary home and was the only thing familiar to me. I scanned it one last time before taking a deep breath and then slowly followed them out of the infirmary and into the rest of the guild letting my thoughts take over as I walked.

I knew Natsu was taking my memory loss hard, heck I wasn't talking it too well either, but I could see it on his face every time we talked. He would seem like he wanted to talk to me about something, but before he go the words out he would always stop with his mouth wide open then quickly snap it shut and sigh heavily.

I was thankful he was trying to be patient with me, but seeing how it affected him was making it harder for me to figure things out.

I hadn't be allowed to leave the infirmary at all since I woke up. The master would come in and talk with me every few hours having me go back over what I could remember and if anything new had happened.

So far the only flash backs I had gotten were Juvia, the master and one of Natsu sleeping on the floor with Lucy laying snuggled up next to him. It was a sweet moment and it made my heart happy to know he had found someone like her, she seemed nice.

Master Makarov had also had a very harsh old lady with faded pink hair, named Porlyusica, come and evaluate me. She had told them that some of my memory should return, but it was impossible to know when or whether only pieces or all of it would come back.

She had put me on a plan that I was supposed to follow, take this douse of magic restore and healing potion daily and have an hour or so set aside for meditating, to strengthen my mind and help it to heal.

I had been filled in on mostly everything that had happened while I was with the guild; I was a new guild member and Master had filled me in on the way that had all happened with me seeking out Natsu through the guild and then joining in secret.

Natsu had taking it upon himself to fill me in on our first meeting which was weird to me and sad to think about, but it didn't trigger any memories or flash backs. Lucy had been allowed to come with Natsu and every now and then she would touch his hand and he would stop talking and look at her, as if she was there to keep him from telling me too much. I knew they were trying to do it to help me get better but it was really making me irritated with Lucy.

Other than that they had told me there were other dragon slayers in the guild and they were some of my closest friends. They way that talked about them had me knowing there was more to it but whenever I asked Master Makarov would just pat my hand and say, "In time my Dear, in time."

I had gotten many flowers, cards and sweets while I had been in the infirmary. Countless 'get well' notes signed with names I didn't recognize and it frustrated me to have all these people care for me so much yet feel so alone.

I asked about why all these people wouldn't come see me in person but would send flowers or cards and both the Master and Porlyusica insisted that people stay away till I was out of the infirmary so as to not overwhelm my fragile mind.

They said they didn't want to overload my mind until I was physically better, to give me a better chance at facing it all and not making my mental state worse.

I stared at the floor contemplating all this as I followed Natsu and Lucy down the stairs and was nearly scared out of my skin when a loud explosion happened causing my head to snap up and my jaw to fall to the floor in shock.

"SURPRIZE!" everyone jumped up and shouted, there where tons of people all smiling and waving as I stood frozen in confusion.

The guild hall was decorated in bright colorful streamers and there were large tables set up with an amazing display of all kinds of colorful food. I felt my stomach growl as the smells attacked my nose.

I grabbed Natsu's sleeve quickly in a panic and tried to hide behind him. "What is all this?"

Natsu smiled gently at me and placed a hand on my shoulder, pulling me forward. "They all wanted to surprise you."

"Bu -but I-" I stuttered as a young petite girl ran up to me and hugged me tight,

"Oh, I'm so glad to see you up and about, we were all so worried."

"Levy…" Lucy whispered quietly,

"Oh gosh." The blue hair girl said, quickly pulling back. "I know you have no idea who I am but we became fast friends, I'm Levy." She extended her hand and I hesitantly took it.

After Levy it was a blur of people and faces and names, I didn't say much other than 'Hi' or 'Thanks for the flowers.'

Only a few people had stood out in my mind as familiar but I couldn't place it or remember, a very handsome young man named Loki, was the first to really smile at me without any sign of pity. He was flirtatious and funny and I felt less tense when he was near.

Another was a Creepy tall guy named Liam, who was covered in a heavy large trench coat and he bowed on one knee in fount of me with his right fist over his heart, "My lady. I am glad to see you are well."

I was so shocked I couldn't answer him but he didn't seem to mind, and instead took to always being a few feet away from me. When I finally asked why he insisted on following me like a shadow, he simply said it was his job to protect me. He wouldn't say anything else so I finally just decided to ignore him, also feeling a weird comfort in his presence.

I finally had met, or re-met I guess, everyone and I grabbed a cup of punch and sat at the far end of the bar to watch everyone enjoy themselves.

Everyone seemed so happy here; I watched as people danced or played pranks on each other and there were others laughing loudly over their meals and some who cuddled in the corners talking quietly with big smiles and large doe eyes.

I let my gaze fall to my glass on the bar, 'Did I really fit in here before?' Hard to believe I was friends with all these people with the memories I have now, knowing I tried to stay alone and not to endanger anyone. And yet it seemed I had started to form a life in this guild and as I looked at all the happy faces it seemed like a happy life, too. My sad blurry reflection stared back at me from the pink liquid in my glass and I let out a small sigh closing my eyes.

I suddenly felt the temperature drop around me and I wrapped my arms around myself in an attempt to warm my bare arms. I jerked slightly and opened my eyes at hearing the sound of a cup being set down in front of me. A cup of coffee with whipped cream was resting right in front of me on the bar top.

I blinked up at the young man standing beside me, he was wearing a black and blue hoodie with dark blue jeans, his hair seemed like it had just been wet but also had a little glitter in it like it was covered in snow or frost, 'He must have been outside in the rain a moment ago.'

He had jet black hair and pale creamy skin and his eyes were dark as he started at me. My eyes fell to his lips which he held tightly together in a thin line but even with such a stern looking expression I couldn't help myself from thinking… 'He is gorgeous.'

As I stared at his lips I noticed they were moving and I realized he had said something, but I hadn't heard him because I had been ogling the poor guy, I quickly turned away blushing.

"Um, I'm sorry what did you say?" I asked quietly still not looking at him, afraid he would see my red cheeks.

"I asked if you were still a fan of coffee." I slowly turned and looked up at him from under my bangs, he was staring hard at me still with a blank face.

I couldn't answer afraid my voice would crack so I just nodded, He gave me a small nod and then motioned to the stool next to me. "Mind if I join you?"

I quickly shook my head and watched as he lowered himself to sit beside me, causing the bar top to get a thin layer of frost on it and the temperature to drop a little more around me, at his closeness.

My hands were resting on the bar and the instant his frost hit my skin my mind flashed with a single image. I was standing on a bridge looking at this young man as he smiled widely at me. A large carefree smile that went to his eyes and make them sparkle with joy.

I clutched my head and let out a gasp as the sudden stabbing pain hit, "You okay?" he asked quickly,

I waved him off and waited for the pain to leave, when it faded I opened my eyes and gently shook my head, before looking at him.

He looked concerned and had his hands out as if he wanted to touch me but was unsure if he should. I cocked my head and squinted, going back over the new memory I found.

"I know you." I said slowly,

I watched as his eyes widened slightly, "You remember?"

I looked back down at the bar top, "Just an image of you smiling on a bridge." his face fall slightly as he turned to lend on the counter too.

We stayed quite for a few minutes before I decided to ask, "Do I… I mean, do we?" He turned to look at me slightly as I struggled to ask my question. "Do we know each other well?"

He studied me for a long time, I figured deciding on what he wanted to tell me. He finally let out a heavily sigh and roughly rubbed his face before answering. "We are good friends, yes."

I let a small smile form on my lips, "I'm glad to hear that."

He blinked at me surprised, I shrugged in response. "You have a very nice smile. I hope I'm not the reason that it's missing this party?"

I watched the gears turning in his head as he let my words sink in, his dark eyes searching my face almost desperately, before he suddenly stood up and turned away from me. "I'm sorry… I don't think can do this."

Before I could stop him he had moved quickly through the crowd and stopped by the large guild doors, he turned back to look at me and the sadness on his face made my heart ache. We locked eyes for only a moment before he turned and disappeared out the doors.

Natsu and Lucy suddenly appeared next to me making me jump in surprise, "Are you ok?" Lucy asked quietly,

I looked back at the guild doors but he, of course, was gone. "Um ya, I think so."

Lucy placed her hand on my shoulder and gave it a small squeeze. "Do you happen to know who that guy was?" I asked pointing to the doors the young man had left through.

Lucy's face contorted into one of pity and deep sadness but she nodded, "Yes that was Gray Fulbuster."

"He seems really sad." I said more to myself then her, "He isn't normally like that, is he?" It was a question but after going over my flash back of him again I found I already knew the answer.

Lucy shook her head, but Natsu was the one to answer. "No he used to be like that a lot more but not to long ago he had started to change… he became happy."

"What changed him?" I asked curiously,

Lucy and Natsu shared a quick look, "That's a good question, I think you should ask him." Lucy said with a small smile.

I looked back down at the coffee he had brought me and felt a small smile form as I took a sip and realized it was my favorite, a peppermint mocha. "I think I will."

Natsu smiled the first real smile I think I had seen from him, "Not today though, we have to get you settled in still." Natsu picked up my bag again and threw it easily over his shoulder, "You done partying?"

I nodded, "Yes, I'm ready to go home."

Lucy and Natsu turned to leave and I was about to follow them when I quickly turned back and decided I would bring the coffee with me. 'I mean it would be a shame to waste it, right?'
