Hermione woke up the next morning groggy and dazed. She looked around and realized that she was in the hospital wing. Hermione turned her head to face Remus sitting there reading a book. She smiled at him and said,
"Hello Remus, how long have you been here?"
Remus looked up and said,
"Not that long. I did not have a class this block and I told the others that I would sit here with you so that you would not be alone."
"Thank you Remus. How long have I been asleep?" She asked looking around the room.
"For a few hours. It is almost lunch time. But that's alright. You need your sleep. How are you feeling?" Remus asked.
"I am better." Hermione said sitting up.
"Do you remember anything?" He asked.
"Not really, it's all foggy. Like I told you yesterday, the only thing I can remember is dragging myself to the Gryffindor common room. Everything else is foggy after and before that." Hermione told truthfully.
Remus just nodded and did not bring it up again. Hermione and Remus just sat there quietly reading their own books. Hermione enjoyed the peace and quiet but of course everything perfect must come to an end sooner or later. They heard the doors of the hospital wings swing open and Sirius screaming,
"Honey were here!"
Hermione looked up at him and just rolled her eyes at him. He was one of the most loud and obnoxious person but that is what made him, him. Hermione just smiled as he walked over to Remus and her. He sat down in the other chair beside her bed. The others came in and Lily said,
"Black can you be any louder? I don't think the other half of the school heard you."
"I could be louder. Do you want to hear?" Sirius said about to scream even louder.
Hermione covered his mouth before he could yell.
"Let's not try. I don't feel like having my ear drums blown out. Thank you very much." Hermione said smirking.
"Awwe Mione. I would never do that to you." Sirius said flirty.
Hermione paused for a second. She had not heard anyone call her Mione since they were in the future. The only people that called her that were her closest friends from the future. It brought back a lot of memories.
"Hermione, earth to Hermione." James said waving his hand in front of her face.
"What?" Hermione asked confused.
"Lily asked how you are feeling. But I guess we caught you in lala land." James said smirking.
"I am better. Before any of you ask if I remember anything. Like I told Remus, everything is foggy and the only thing I can remember is coming to Gryffindor common room and waking up here. That is all. I do not remember the attack at all." Hermione sated with a sigh.
"That's alright Hermione. It's normal for people to not remember the attack. They just block it out." Lily said giving her a reassuring smile.
"But that's the thing. I don't forget that stuff. I remember everything that has happened to me in the past. I wish I didn't but I do." Hermione started to rant.
The Marauders looked from each other to Ginny. They did not know what to say or do about it. Hermione huffed and said,
"I know that Ginny told you that I was attacked before I got here. Don't look at me like I am a fragile china doll." Hermione said looked toward the Marauders.
"We just did not want to bring anything up that is hard for you to talk about." James said quietly.
"I appreciate it but I know that it's good to talk about it. Even if I don't have my two guy best friends here anymore I have to trust someone and you are the friends that remind me of my two best friends. I need to know that I can trust you." Hermione explained.
"Of course you can trust us. If you can't trust us then who can you trust?" Remus said.
Hermione smiled and looked at her new friends that she has made since she has been here. It has been a change but Hermione had Ginny there with her and they know that they go through this together. Hermione realized that she had not have had a moment alone with Ginny to talk to her about everything that has been happening. Once she gets out of this hospital wing she is going to have to talk to her and Lily. She needs to know what Lily knows and what she does not know.
"So when do you get out of here?" Sirius asked changing the subject.
"I have no idea. Madam Pomfrey have not told me. I guess I am stuck here a little bit longer. I feel just fine and I just want to get out of here soon." Hermione said truthfully.
She has been through enough to know what her body can handle and when she needs to take things easy. Hermione knew that she is alright to leave but Madam Pomfrey thought otherwise. Hermione would argue with her but Madam Pomfrey would not listen.
"I know that I am fine! Why can't I just leave?" Hermione asked Madam Pomfrey.
"No, you need to rest. Your body have been through a lot and you are just going to make things worse if you do not rest." Madam Pomfrey said.
"I am fine." Hermione said with a huff.
They head a door open and there walked in Headmaster Dumbledore.
"Albus, would you please tell Miss Reeves that she needs to stay here and rest." Madam Pomfrey said trying to get Headmaster Dumbledore on her side.
"Headmaster Dumbledore I am just fine. See." Hermione said getting out of bed and standing up. Her body was screaming at her but she just ignored it. She wanted out of the hospital wing. It brought back to much memories that were painful to her.
"Well, Madam Pomfery it looks like Miss Reeves is looking well. I think that she can leave but she has to come back in between classes to take her potions." Dumbledore said trying to find a mutual ground.
"I think that is fine." Hermione agreed.
Madam Pomfrey nodded and walked back to her desk to get Hermione her potions before she left. Hermione took them and walked out of the hospital wing. Dumbledore followed right behind her and said,
"Miss Reeves,"
Hermione turned to face the headmaster. She stayed quiet to heard what he wanted.
"I want you to know that we are trying to figure out who did this to you. All of the Professors are on the watch to make sure that this does not happen again." Dumbledore said. "My door is open if you need to talk about anything. Any time you need to come I will be there. Do not hesitate to come and talk to me."
"Thank you Headmaster. I will keep that in consideration." Hermione said with a smile.
She watched as the headmaster left. She started to walk back to Gryffindor common room when a memory hit her. Hermione crouch down the wall and sat there.
"Run Harry! This way." Hermione screamed running down the halls of Hogwarts.
Harry and Ron were following Hermione. They were fighting Death Eaters. Hermione hit one of them with the stunning curse. They turned the corner and saw Fred, George, and Percy fighting some death eaters. Hermione and Harry joined them.
"Take that Minister, oh yeah. By the way I resign." Percy screamed hitting the Minister with a spell.
"You got to be kidding me. If I would have not been here I would have not believed it with my own eyes." George said laughing.
They all turned around to see a wall falling down.
"FRED!" George screamed.
But it was too late. Fred was crushed by the wall. Hermione gasped and could not speak. She watched Harry and George move his body. Hermione fought off the Death Eaters that were coming. She was determined to make sure they came nowhere near Fred.
"Hermione, are you alright?" A voice asked.
Hermione looked up to seeā¦
(A/N This chapter almost got me in tears when I wrote Fred's death scene. It killed me reading it in the book but I just reopened the wound by typing it. It was hard typing his death scene because I love Fred so much and it killed me knowing that he was killed. I hope everyone like this chapter and please review and favorite and follow. Love you all.)
