Chapter 25: Somethings Don't Last Forever
...
"Hey guys!" Natsu said happily as he held Lucy's hand. Gray raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Nice."
Natsu stuck out his tongue, "At least I can do better then you!" Gray rolled his eyes and went back to what he was doing. Juvia burst in through the door and looked at Gray sadly.
"Gray-sama! When are we going to go on our second date?!" she asked. Gray rolled his eyes again and tried to act busy, "Juvia...I don't have time for dates."
Juvia pouted and stomped her foot. "But Gray-sama!"
"Juvia please!" Juvia looked down and nodded as she sat down on one of the chairs. Mira shook her head. "Gray! Be nice!"
"She expects me to take her on a date twenty-four seven! I'm wasting too much money!"
"Is money all you care about?!" Erza asked him. Gray looked at her, "No! Money isn't all I care about! I'm saving it for a good reason but if I have Juvia asking me to go out on dates how am I suppose to save some then?!"
Erza stood in front of him, "Well then care to tell us where you're going after you've saved all that money?" Gray got up and left. Erza rolled her eyes and went after him.
"This is all Juvia's fault..."
"Juvia don't blame yourself. It's Gray we're talking about. He has reasons..."
...
There was a cold breeze. But that didn't stop Gray from stomping away. It looked like it was going to rain. Great. Just great. "Gray wait up!"
He ignored her. "Gray! I said wait up!"
Gray turned around to look at Erza, "What!?"
"Why did you just leave?! Why can't you just take Juvia on a simple date?!"
"I can't keep doing this anymore!" Erza looked at him, "What do you mean?"
"The kiss and stuff! I just can't!"
"I thought we said to forget about the kiss!"
"I know we did! I can't keep doing this anymore! I have to know!"
Erza stood there silently. She knew what he meant. She herself needed to know as well, but it would pain her to hear the answer. So she kept quiet. And know she's standing in front of the man who was saving money for a reason that scared her. "Why...why are you saving money?"
"Erza...please. Not now. I'll tell you when the time is right. But...I need to know. Did that kiss mean anything to you?" Gray asked. When Erza kept quiet, Gray shook his head and started walking away. "Tsk...so it meant nothing..."
...Six Hours Later...
Erza continued looking at the ceiling. She lay there on her bed as Lucy and Juvia slept. She sighed, "I don't know..."
"Erza..." Erza looked to her side to see Juvia staring at her. She patted a small space on her bed motioning Juvia to lie down. "What is it Juvia?"
"Juvia thinks Gray-sama has changed..." Erza nodded in agreement, "Oh yes he has..."
"And Juvia also thinks her feelings have changed as well..." Erza raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean change?"
Juvia stopped looking at ceiling and looked at Erza. She could hear the rain falling. "Juvia has always dreamt about marrying Gray-sama and having thirty babies with hi—"
"Thirty babies?!" Juvia blushed. "Don't judge Juvia! Anyway...now that Juvia got what she wanted...she doesn't want it anymore..."
"So...you realized that you didn't love him as much as you thought?" Juvia nodded. She then hesitated on saying the next words, "And Juvia thinks she..."
"You think what?"
"Juvia thinks she's in love with Lyon..."
...Silence...
"Erza?"
"Tell him how you feel."
"Bu-but he's with Sherry."
"I don't care. Just tell him how you feel."
"But Erza!"
"Juvia! Somethings don't last forever! You have to tell Lyon how you feel!" Juvia nodded and went back to her bed.
...
It was midnight and Erza's words continued echoing through Juvia's head.
"Somethings don't last forever!"
Juvia continued thinking about it over and over again. It frightened her. She wanted to tell Lyon and she wanted to tell him before she lost him. She wanted to go to sleep. But she couldn't. "Somethings don't last forever!"
Juvia let her tears fall. The tears she had been holding in ever since Erza told her that. She wanted everything to last. She wanted happiness, love, friendship, and family to last forever.
"Somethings don't last forever!"

Gray continued looking for a suitcase. He had been up all night trying to find one and he still hadn't. He didn't want to go buy one. If one of his friends noticed then his secret would be blown. He sighed in frustration. "I don't have enough money! I can't find a suitcase! And where am I going to go!" he whispered. He didn't want to wake Natsu and Lyon up. Those idiots would most defiantly blow his secret.
He stopped as he came across a necklace. "It's a late birthday present!" echoedthroughhis head.It was a sword or cross. Who knows. But it had silver designs in the center. It made it look beautiful under the moonlight.
He placed it around his neck and covered his face with his hands before muttering the name of the person who had given him the necklace, "Erza..."
Done! Short chapter and I feel like this is a sad chapter. So now you know what Gray is planning. But trust me. It'll be a happy ending! Please follow/review/favorite.
