We've got a about 4 chapters left in this story and believe it...its not going to be easy for our lovely couple
Rachel looks at him and he wipes her tears and she nods Finn smiles slightly and kisses her forehead "Im going to make it up to you Rach..no more promises...just actions."Finn says Rachel lays her head on his chest and Finn kisses her hair.
During that night they fall asleep on her bed but Rachel is woken up by movement next to her she sits up and sees Finn sweating and tossing and turning
~In Finn's dream~
"Come On Corporal HUDSON!"The man yells who is holding a small box cutter knife sliding it down his leg Finn grunts in pain as they stop and pull the cloth off of his face
"I'm not saying shit to you.."Finn says weakly Two other men get out the electrical wiring it and place it together and sparks begin to spark out.
"Still dont want to talk? It's simple...Why did you guys come to Iraq? Where is your Base?"He asked
"SCREW..You."Finn says The Man sighs and nods at the other two men they place the cloth back on Finn's face and begin to shock him.
"Ahh! AhhH!"Finn cries in pain
"Finn...Finn wake up.."Rachel says shaking him Finn takes a deep breath Rachel runs her fingers through his hair "Whats going bad dream?"Rachel asked Finn looks at her and clenches his jaw.
"Uhm..Im fine..I just excuse me okay."Finn says and goes into the bathroom he splashes water on his face and runs his hands through his hair in his dream he was back in Iraq..in a cell..being tortured that's the only thing he never told anyone..during his time in Iraq.
Finn's unit got ambushed and was held hostage for about 2 weeks. Two weeks of beatings, hungry, interrogation everything about those two weeks were pure hell since he was the Squat Leader he took the most torture..and every day after since then he's had the same dreams.
"Finn Are you okay?"Rachel says Finn opens the door and kisses her on the head. "Go back to sleep I'll be right here."Finn says Rachel nods and lays back on the bed Finn wraps his arms around her waist and kisses her cheek. As Rachel drifts back to sleep Finn can't manage to get any rest that night.
Rachel wakes up and looks around not seeing Finn in her room anymore she puts on her robe and heads down to the living room she sighs and then hears a lot of clutter in the kitchen She walks inside and sees Finn flipping a pancake Rachel smiles and walks over to him Finn looks up and slightly smiles.
"Morning Beautiful."Finn says Rachel walks over to him and he kisses her forehead Rachel takes a seat and looks around at the pancakes, juice and fruit laid out on the table.
"What is the special occasion?"Rachel asked picking up a piece of melon. Finn walks over to her. "I told you I was going to make the past Four years up to you."Finn says
"By making me fat?"Rachel chuckles Finn scoffs
"Please you haven't even gained a pound in 4 years and if you did it definitely makes you sexier."Finn winks at her Rachel blushes and pulls him. "No more cooking sit and eat with me."She says Finn nods and sits down next to her she kisses his cheek and he strokes her face.
"You look tired you okay?"She asked Finn decides to lie and not say anything about him barely sleeping at all.
"Im alright..come on eat before your food gets cold."Finn says Rachel nods and begins eating.
"So what are your plans today?"Finn asked
"IM gonna visit Daddy Mom says he has physical therapy to get his body back to normal and stuff I want to support him, you should come by too he'd love to see you."Rachel says
"I will some other day but i have to do something important."Finn says
"Which would be."Rachel asked
"Getting you to fall in love with me again."Finn smiles slightly Rachel smiles at him and she sips her coffee Finn kisses the back of her hand and Rachel shakes her head. Little did Finn know he didn't have to do much for her to love him again...she was still in love with him after all these years.
As Rachel is in the hospital visiting her Dad Finn is at the McKinley High Auditorium setting up rose peddles on the ground then Puck storms him and crosses his arms.
"Hey you minding helping me with these candles?.."Finn asked
"When were you going to mention it Finn."Puck asked Finn looks at him confused "Mention what?"Finn asked
"Why the hell am I just now finding out that you've been captured and tortured when you were in Iraq? How do you even keep that a secret for Four years."Puck asked
"Who Told you.."Finn asked
"Your war buddy couldn't reach you for a month while you were in Haiti...He asked if we were tight I said yes...and then he asked if you were still doing therapy for your PTSD...I asked him why you would even need therapy for that...then he spilled the beans..Now What the hell."Puck says
"It was for 2 weeks okay..I was just captured for 2 weeks."Finn says
"Finn Ive seen those war movies and they aren't pretty..what the hell happened in Iraq.."Puck says
"I survived...okay it wasn't easy..and it was a like hell but with sharp tools and electric wires...but I don't want to think about it got it. So let's drop it. Im alive. Thats the important thing."Finn says and continues to finish his decorating for Rachel.
Rachel is smiling as she watches her father do small exercises she looks over at her Mother and she hugs her daughter "You've been so amazing these past few days thank you so much."Emma says Rachel smiles.
"You're my parent's where else would I be other then making sure you are both taken care of...its time Blaine and I take care of you both."Rachel says Emma smiles and Rachel lays her head on her moms shoulder.
After visiting hours Rachel gets a text from Finn to meet her at the High school in the auditorium she gets into her car and follows his directions once into the school she sees the old janitor Davis he nods at her and points through the auditorium doors she gasps and sees candles on the stage and flowers She smiles and looks around the stage it was beautifully decorated but there was no sign of Finn anywhere...she looked around and then a single spotlight turned on the stage Rachel covered her eyes and looked up to see a tall figure standing in front of it.
"You're going to blind me."Rachel says Finn dims the light and she smiles at him. "What are you going all the way up there."Rachel says Finn leans over the balcony and smiles.
"8 years ago...I was 19 dragged to one of your last Musical shows while you were a senior in high school you were Maria in West Side Story and you were singing like you were meant to play that role...during that night I hardly cared about even going..the only reason I went was because your brother made me go...but something happened that night that I kept a secret from you even while we were dating...because well you were still with Puck."Finn says
"What was that?"Rachel asked
"I was standing in this spot watching you during that musical watching you shine...and in this exact spot is where I fell in love with you Rachel...this is where I felt love for someone for the first time in my whole life...I may have not said it before...but you're the only person I have ever truly loved...and who's ever really loved me back.."Finn says
"Why are you telling me all of this now.."Rachel says nearly in tears. Finn begins to walk down until he is in front of the stage and offer her a red rose.
"Im telling you because...now that you know the exact place where I first began to love you...I will start loving you better...and treating you like my whole world...I admit I was lost 4 years ago..and im not saying Im perfect now...but..I know what you mean to me...and I know that when I hurt you I was only hurting myself more because you make me happier than I ever thought I could be Rachel...what Im trying to say is...Im done looking for excuses for us not to be together...I just want you. If you'll have me again."Finn says while still holding the rose. Rachel shakes her head and runs towards the stage and jumps into Finn's arms.
"Oof.."Finn grunts and catches her Rachel has a tight kung fu grip around his neck with her arms and his waist where her legs are wrapped tight around him.
"I just needed you to realize that Finn...I waited four years for you to make up your damn mind."Rachel says Finn chuckles and she places her forehead against his.
"I love you Finn I always have...I just dont want to get my heart broken again.."Rachel says Finn pulls her closer to him and nods. "Baby girl Im not ever going to let you go again...I love you I love you I love you..Im so sorry for ever letting you go.'Finn says Rachel smiles and nuzzles their noses together.
"I love you too...God Ive waited to say that for four years."Rachel says
"I've waited four years for this."Finn says and lifts her chin up so she can kiss her passionately Rachel smiles into the kiss and pulls him in closer.
As they get back to the house Finn kisses Rachel and says he has to get Kurt from his Dad's store then they will all have dinner Rachel smiles to herself and sits down in the basement smiling for the first time in four years she was actually happy...Puck then walks inside and sits down on the vacant chair next to Rachel..
"Hey whats wrong?"Rachel asked
"I just found out some fucked up shit today.."Puck says shaking his head still thinking about how Finn never told anyone he was a prisoner during his Service in Iraq.
"Well I have good news...Finn and I are back together..well...non-exclusively but that will change soon enough...we both love each other."Rachel says
"So that means he told you then..."Puck says Rachel gives him a confused look.
"Told me he loved me? Yeah he told me."Rachel says
"Not that...he told you about what happened to him in Iraq.."Puck says Rachel sit sup and looks at him.
"What happened to Finn in Iraq?"Rachel asked Puck closes his eyes. "Never mind Rachie forget i said anything."Puck says
"NOAH PUCKERMAN YOU TELL ME RIGHT NOW. What did Finn do in Iraq?"Rachel says
"It's not what he did...it's what was done to him there."Puck says
"Tell me everything you know. NOW PUCK."Rachel says Puck sighs and runs his hands through his hair and nods.
