Acting Out

The sun was a hazy spear of luminescence when Nami found them.

Zoro, used to the presence of his swords, wrapped his arm around the form at his side. Which happened to be their endearing reindeer-doctor. Not that the slumbering teen seemed to mind. There was a trail of wet down his cheeks –sea water or tears, she couldn't tell- but his face was peaceful, sporting the softest of smiles.

Nami hid her smiles, stifling her giggles. Relief made her giddy, a pit of worry filled with hope.

She had a part to play, after all.

She kicked Zoro's shin.
