Author's Note: Hey everyone ! So glad you're still hanging in there with me. I appreciate all the reviews. I needed a minute to figure out just where in the past I wanted to drop Carlise and Evan. Hope you enjoy.
The sun was near blinding when I finally opened my eyes. Sitting up I noticed Evan starting to wake next to me. Looking around it seems like we were in the woods.
"Did you get the plates on the truck that hit me," my brother mumbled. I chuckled.
"Stop being a baby. Looks like we made it but we just have to figure out what's going on."
We got to our feet and looked at each other.
"We can't fail them Evan. I already let mom and Siren down. I won't lose the others."
Evan patted my shoulder. His eyes stern.
"It's my fault just as much as it is yours. I'm the oldest if anyone should have done it should have been me."
I went to argue when the sound of fighting reached us. Evan took off in the direction of the sound and I followed.
I arrived just in time to see my brother reach through the back of a dark haired woman's back and rip her heart out. As the woman collapsed and I saw her face she reminded me of Aunt Elena. Evan dropped to his knees next to a figure on the ground with a stake in his chest.
Oh no.
"Uncle Stefan!"
Dropping to my knees beside them I looked into his desicating body.
"No! I promised Uncle Damon!"
My uncle stared into my eyes his slowly losing the life in them.
Biting into my palm I did my best to keep the little pool of blood in my hand from spilling. I met my brother's eyes. He nodded already knowing what I needed. A second later he pulled the stake out and punched my blood hand into his chest. Gripping his heart, I sent a silent prayer to whoever would listen that my blood would be strong enough to jumpstart his heart again.
I gently removed my now healed hand from his chest and watched as the wound closed.
I looked to his face. Nothing.
Panic began to set in.
"Car! Listen we did all we could."
Tears began to fill my eyes my visioning becoming blurry.
"Uncle Stef" his name got stuck in my throat as a sob came out. Everyone I loved was dying.
A slight breeze hit me and a second later Evan was pulling me into his arms.
"It's not fair!"
Evan rubbed my back as he let me wet his jacket with my tears.
Just as another round of tears began to fall, a gasp reached my ears. I pulled away from my brother and felt like crying again.
"Uncle Stefan!" Evan moved back to his other side and helped him sit up.
Our uncle looked at us in confusion. "What happened? Who are you?"
Wiping my eyes I gave him a smile. "It's a long story but you're alive. That's all that matters."
He looked to Evan then back at me and nodded.
"We have to go, Rayna, the hunter she's after me."
"If you mean the dark haired corpse over there I wouldn't worry. She's dead," Evan said smirking.
Uncle Stefan's eyes widen as he looked at her corpse.
"She's not dead. She'll come back. She marked me and won't stop till I'm dead."
I touched his shoulder calming him. "That's the thing Stefan. You did die. Even if she comes back to life she has no reason to be after you anymore."
I walked over to the corpse of the creepy Aunt Elena looking woman and touched her forehead. A second later her body dissolved into nothing.
"Are you a witch?" I heard Uncle Stefan ask. I looked to him as Evan helped him to his feet.
"Something like that. Look did she have anyone helping her?"
Uncle Stefan nodded. "Yeah these two warlocks it was almost as if they were out to get me."
I looked at Evan. So Aunt Bonnie had dropped us in the right timeline. That was a relief.
"Ok Stefan. Let's get back to the boarding house and we'll explain everything."
Stefan looks from me then my brother. "How do I know I can trust you?"
Evan snorted. "Well we did just save your life. If we wanted you dead we could have just left you here."
He nodded. "Good point. You know my name but I have no clue who you are."
I smirked. This never got old.
"I'm Carlise Mikaelson and this is my older brother Evan Mikaelson."
Stefan's face showed an reaction I would remember for the rest of my life. He almost looked like a cartoon character. I'd never seen his face so animated.
"Mikaelson as in Klaus?"
I nodded. "That's our father."
Stefan's jaw dropped before he whispered. "Holy shit."
Then he fainted.
I looked at Evan and chuckled. "Well. That went well."
