In a very dark cave, towards the underground center of the Pokemon world, was a place called the Darkness Core.
Daniel Darkrai, the leader, was perched on a cliff, watching his miserable minions kill and attack each other. Their cries and yowls were music to his ears.
He watched as Kissy, one of the newest residents of Darkness Core, slash her claws across her daughter's throat for what seemed to be the fifth time that day. Icicle fell still and did't get back up
She'll get up in a minute or so
Daniel Darkrai's eyes adverted to Shark and Toad, a Garchomp and a Toxicroak that have been residents of the Darkness Core for a very long time, it has even been considered an honor to be killed by one of them. Shark snapped his jaws at two Lillipup that were playing with the pebbles.
Newborns and children killed too early end up here too, some of the newbies start out with killing them and work their way up
"Scraps!" Toad snarled, he jabbed one of the Lillipup in the chest, it instantly fell and went limp.
Bramble watched as his sister struggled up after being killed by Kissy.
"I hate it here" Icicle muttered, "It's so dark, and full of death".
"I know" Bramble replied, "Crow doesn't know how lucky she is to be alive up there".
"Reincarnation Day's coming in a few months" a Furfrou that knew the two siblings very well said, "One will be chosen a opportunity to relive again".
"Only one, Riffin" Icicle growled at the huge Furfrou, "Not more than that".
"Well, Daniel should be planning another attack soon on the Kalos Hero and his friends" a Spring Sawsbuck said, walking to Riffin's side.
"That's true, Maple" Riffin replied, "But the question is, when?".
"Soon, so I can kill that Smeargle!" Icicle snarled, "He's the reason why I'm here!".
"Crow deserves to know how we feel as well" Bramble growled, "She's the only one of us that's still enjoying life!".
"She won't cozy up to that Espeon anytime soon either" Riffin growled, "We'll kill both of them".
"Got something against Orion? You knew him when you were alive at all?" Maple asked with curiosity.
"Maybe" Riffin muttered. Shark and Toad walked in on their conversation.
"Daniel better start a battle soon" Shark growled in a raspy voice, "Or I'll just have to kill every one of you".
"Not if I kill you first" Riffin growled, he leaped onto Shark and they engaged in a violent battle. All sorts of Pokemon just minding their own business ran to watch Shark and Riffin fight.
"FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" the crowd of Pokemon chanted. A Vaporeon watched in his burrow as Shark's claws sank into Riffin's long dirty fur. Riffin threw his blood in Shark's face to blind him.
"Oh no..." the Vaporeon moaned as Riffin fell limp, making the crow go wild, "Too much violence".
"All because of you" Daniel Darkrai sneered at the Vaporeon, "The Curse of Riptide".
The Vaporeon named Riptide looked down and cried. He saw Kissy's mother, Autumn, get killed by a member in the crowd.
"DAUGHTER!" Albatross, Autumn's father, cried. He ran to the dead Leafeon. Riptide watched the scene in pure horror. Daniel Darkrai chuckled evilly as the cheering crowd turned into a massacre free-for-all.
"STOP!" Riptide cried, he saw Albatross's son, Creek, get killed by Maple when she trampled over him to face Kissy.
Kissy used Moonblast, sending Maple running into the cave wall. Bramble turned from fighting two Snivy to rip his claws across Kissy's neck, she fell limp. Maple turned to Riffin, whom was just getting back up, and killed him with a hoof to the skull.
"STOP! PLEASE!" Riptide yelled again. He ran between Icicle and the Herdier she was fighting and pushed her to the cave wall.
"HEY!" Icicle snarled, "WAIT FOR YOUR OWN TURN TO BE KILLED!".
"I'm not trying to kill anybody!" Riptide protested, "This needs to stop!".
"And who started it...you" with that, Icicle broke Riptide's neck with her paws and ran back to the battle.
"Pain..." Riptide muttered before he died.
"MY MINIONS!" Daniel Darkrai roared, "COME HERE!".
They all stopped killing and fighting each other to gather under Daniel Darkrai, whom took his place on his cliff.
"I can see you all feel emptiness in your claws" Daniel Darkrai announced, "You feel the need to sink your teeth into flesh, break necks and tear apart the dreams of the living! Well, a week from now, at full moon, WE. WILL. FIGHT!".
The crowd lost it in excitement and started killing each other again.
"WAIT, STOP!" Daniel Darkrai shouted, the crowd settled once more, "We will attack the Kalos Hero! Then that Umbreon and her 'precious friends'! THEY WILL DIE!".
The crowd went crazy and Riptide, whom just came back to life minutes ago, jaws dropped in alarm.
NO! This can't happen! The Kalos Hero is supposed to save the Pokemon world and break the curse that I started!...that I started...
Daniel Dakrai went through the cave wall and into a dark chamber full of bones and skulls. A blue mist surrounded the far end of the chamber.
"My lady" Daniel Darkrai cried out, "I told them".
"Good" a voice said from the blue mist.
"Death is the only way to keep you from disappearing from us" Daniel Darkrai said, "I promised your father that will never happen".
"I know" a huge legendary Giratina appeared from the mist, "But I'm dying, Danny".
Daniel Darkrai's eyes glowed at her nickname for him. But he knew that his mate, Gloria Giratina, was very ill, and on the brink of disappearing. The deaths that Rita Rayquaza and Yilmaz Yveltal brought upon Kalos were barely enough to keep Gloria Giratina alive.
"I'll keep you alive, even if that means every Pokemon dies" Daniel Darkrai promised, and with that, he left the chamber.
