Chapter 25: Always.
Yamato's POV
When I walked into the Moon Dormitory with Akane in my arms, all of the aristocrat vampires stood up and glared at me.
"What happened to her," asked a vampire with blonde hair and blue eyes.
I continued walking forward and said, "She's just asleep. I'd expect even someone as dense as you to be able to tell that by first glance, but I guess I was wrong."
He grunted and sat back down as a sign of defeat.
Heh, idiot.
On the way to Akane's room, I ran into Kaname Kuran.
He look down at her then slowly up at me, "Who are you?"
"I'm Yamato," I huffed, "Now get out of the way."
He stepped aside, but followed me into Akane's room.
I laid her down on the bed then turned around to face him, "What do you want?"
He looked at me directly and asked, "How do you know Akane?"
I sighed and began explaining everything to him.
There was no point in hiding it, it's not that big of a deal anyways. Besides, if I tell him the truth, I won't have to worry about him getting in my way.
After I finished explaining, he simply looked away and said, "Is that so?"
I nodded, "Yep. So if you don't mind, leave. There's something important that I have to tell Akane when she wakes up."
He arched his brow, "And what's that?"
I grinned slightly, "Not that it concerns you, but I guess there's no harm in telling you... I'm going to return her the memories she had of Zero."
A glint of anger was shown in his eyes for a split second until he composed himself, "If you do that, she'll just be upset again."
I sighed and looked directly into his crimson eyes, "You care about Akane, right? If you honestly love her, you'll let her be. Trust me, I know Akane better than anyone, so I know that even if she were to fall in love with you, she could never love you as much as she loved Zero. Just let her go."
He turned around and started walking, but paused at the door, "I'm only allowing this because I truly do love her," with that, he left the room.
I guess I'm lucky this guy wasn't as stubborn as Zero.
Akane sat up from the bed and stretched out her arms, "I thought I was outside," she mumbled.
I looked down at her and grinned, "You were, but you fell asleep and started snoring so loud that I had to bring you back here."
A blush spread across her face out of embarrassment, "R-Really?"
I chuckled, "Yeah, really."
She narrowed her eyes at me, "Quit lying."
"Fine," I sighed as I sat beside her on the bed, "But there's something that I have to tell you."
"What is it," she asked.
Here goes nothing...
"Close your eyes," I said quietly.
Akane's POV
"Close your eyes," he whispered.
I did as he said and closed my eyes, not knowing what to expect.
He grabbed onto both of my shoulders and I could feel him leaning closer to me. His fangs lightly grazed my neck before they slowly pierced my skin.
Memories of Zero flowed into my mind as a single tear slid down my face.
Yamato pulled away and wiped his mouth, "I'm sorry that I had to do that..."
Tears began welling in my eyes as I looked at him, "W-Why did you give me back my memories?"
He looked away, "Believe it or not, I actually want you to be happy..."
I smiled and hugged him tightly, "Thank you..."
He wrapped his arms around me and sighed, "You're welcome, idiot."
I pulled away and stood up.
"Where are you going," he asked.
"I'm going to go find Zero," I said as I walked out of the room.
He followed me into the hallway, "Wait!"
"What is it," I asked.
He narrowed his eyes at me, "We can't be too far apart, remember?"
"Stay close to me then," I said.
"Fine," he mumbled.
After we got outside, I started looking for Zero. When I found him, he was standing on the bridge, and Yamato was out of sight.
I sighed and started walking towards the bridge, "Zero."
He glanced at me and instantly looked away, "What do you want?"
"I remember everything," I said quietly.
He sighed, "So?"
I was desperately holding back tears as I spoke, "I just wanted you to know that my feelings haven't changed... I still love you..."
He remained silent and continued to avoid my gaze.
The tears that had welled up in my eyes caused my vision to go blurry, so I looked at the ground, "That's all that I wanted to say... I'll leave you alone now," I said as I turned around.
I started walking away, but Zero grabbed my shoulder and spun me around, causing me to look at him. He grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled me into a kiss.
Tears began to freely stream down my face as I melted into his warm kiss.
He broke the kiss and looked down at the ground, "Why do you do this to me?"
