Second Round: Back Up Arrives For Both Sides.

~6,521~

"Right, Thor I want you to take on Anole, Hawkeye, Black Widow, you two try to stop Quick Silver. I'll take on Arclight, Tony you stop Toad. Bruce, you wait on standby, I don't think we'll need Hulk for this one; just try to get any straggling civilians to safety."

"Got it Captain." Natasha responded.

"Roger Rogers-OW! Nat, why'd you hit-" Hawkeye replied before his Com was cut off.

"On it." Bruce replied from the ground, obviously having been dropped off before hand.

"Got it Cap." Tony replied and he could see the storm clouds rolling in.

Thor didn't have a Com because his lightening always fired them, but then again, Thor could hear Steve because he was standing right next to him on the roof where he had landed the Jet. Tony spotted his target, slightly disappointed that he got the weakest enemy of all, even Bruce could beat this guy. And Tony meant Bruce, not Hulk. Resigned to his fight, Tony sighed before taking off to wail on his opponent.

The battle was boring, well, for Tony it was boring. He stood there for a good ten minutes while Toad kept leaping around pretending like he was actually confusing Iron Man with his mediocre speed. Tony could have sworn he dozed off there for a second. He easily grabbed that 13ft long tongue and swung the slime ball in the air like a lasso and smashed him into the concrete, very reminiscent of how Hulk beat Loki. He easily knocked the frog mutant unconscious and when to help the others.

Thor was having trouble with Anole, the man was agile and Thor kept trying to hit him with either Mjölnir or lightening. He quickly realized he was causing far too much damage with no result, so he resulted to flying up and trying to knock the man off the sides of the building, but again, the man was agile and far too quick for Thor.

Tony, however; was faster. Coming in at not even half speed, he easily picked the man up off the building and dropped him a good four stories right into the grip of Thor, who bellowed a thank you and promptly knocked the mutant out while Tony continued on to help the others.

It seemed that everyone was having trouble battling their opponents. Black Widow and Hawkeye couldn't even hit Quicksilver with their bullets and arrows, for he easily dodged them with his speed. Again Tony was fast enough to catch him, mostly because he caught the teen off guard. Tony slammed into his back, sending him to the ground. It gave Hawkeye enough time to loose an arrow that hit the mutant right in the foot: he wouldn't be running anywhere for a few weeks at least. Once immobile, he was easy picking for the two spies. Hawkeye gave a quick 'thanks' though the Com, but Black Widow stayed silent. Not one for thanks anyway, Tony simply flew away to check on their fearless leader.

Cap was by far doing the best against his opponent. He was fighting Arclight and her shock waves. He was using his shield to block the waves and slowly inching his way closer to her. She was standing on a one story building, some shop that sold trinkets. Tony took a second to think that Pepper might like something like that, but he quickly focused on the battle. There was no way the Captain was going to be able to get passed and into the building, and even if he did, the she had an escape route and would be gone before he could get to the roof.

Flying in noisily, he distracted Arclight long enough for Captain America to throw his shield. Unfortunately she noticed and ducked the shield and jumped from the building, running though an alleyway to escape. Tony grabbed the shield, which had gotten stuck on the roof, and flew down to the ground, he was about to fly over to give it back to the Captain, but a sudden thought sprung into his mind.

"Hey Cap, I'm gonna borrow your shield here for a second." Tony said through the Coms as he followed the mutant from above.

"Just don't dent it." Captain America said in return, and Tony could hear his labored breathing, indicating he was taking chase of the runaway mutant.

When Arclight exited the alley, Tony landed in front of her. She threw a shock wave at him, hoping it would distract him long enough for her to make her escape. However, after a quick calculation, Tony held the shield up backwards, so the inside cave was facing away from him. The wave hit the shield and bounced back straight at its sender, causing her to shriek in pain as her ear drums burst. She fell to the ground as blood trickled out of her ears. The Captain arrived just as she fell, and Tony threw him his shield and he knocked her out.

"Well, that was boring." Tony said as his face mask lifted up. "And a huge waste of time."

"But why would they attack the city now?" Rogers asked. "What were they after?"

Tony was about to answer with his theory of them coming to check New York out for his leader when Black Widow called in over the Coms.

"Hey guys, we got more mutants incoming from the East." Her stoic voice alerted everyone. "Looks like reinforcements have arrived."

"Looks like break time is over." Tony said looking at the Captain as he lifted the unconscious mutant over his shoulder. "Need a lift?"

"Sure." Rogers said and grabbed one iron hand and they took off.

They landed next to the now formed group and he dropped his two charges. Bruce had joined them now, after having made sure the buildings had been evacuated. There hand't been many people in the to begin with, seeing as the area was mostly full of damaged office buildings and a few rundown shops. All the knocked out mutants were thrown into a pile for SHIELD To collect later.

"What are we looking at?" Rogers demanded as soon as his feet touched the ground.

"Fury said there's a jet coming in with hostiles." Black Widow reported. "They've already started attacking the buildings before even landing."

"Do we have a description of their powers or where they might land?" Rogers asked.

"Look like one has the ability to control fire and another that's sending out tornados the size of busses." Hawkeye said. "Though there's bound to be more inside the jet."

"That's Pyro and Riptide." Tony said, instantly recognizing the powers. "If they're here then this really is the back up, they're pretty powerful, I'll bet the ones inside are just as powerful."

"Right, do we know where they'll land?" Rogers asked again.

"Looks like they'll be land close by, if not on top of us." Hawkeye answered. "It seems like they want to bring the fight straight to us instead of waisting time."

"That's good, that last fight was a joke, at least now we'll have a challenge." Tony said. "ETA?"

"Fury says about five minutes before they land." Black Widow answered.

They tied up the caught mutants and moved them off into a building so they wouldn't get in the way and they waited for new fight to show up. It wasn't long before they could hear a jet, and even less time before they could see it. It landed a block away from them and ten people exited the jet, some huge and beast like, others small and agile looking, there was even a set of twins and a man with red skin.

"Well, they sure brought out the freak show for this one." Tony commented as he got ready for a fight. "Looks like the circus is in town."

"Hey, I resent that." Hawkeye said as he notched an arrow. "I was in the circus as a kid. Trust me, these guys have nothing on circus folk."

"I'm not sure if that's supposed to be comforting or what." Tony said.

"Guys, pay attention." Captain America said sternly. "Looks like they're getting ready to attack. If you can see who's the leader call it out. Iron Man, you got any information on these ones?"

Tony already JARVIS going though the database to locate all the mutants, their powers, and their weaknesses. He knew a few from his time at the mansion, and though battles over the years, but some he didn't know.

"The big guy with long messy hair is Sabertooth, he's like a beast; he's got claw-like nails, super strength, super senses, and he can heal like no one's business. You gotta go for a knockout or he'll just heal and wear you out, though he's not that bright. The teen in the hoodie is Pyro, he can manipulate fire, can't create it, so he'll be carrying matches or a lighter, if you can get him away from those, he's though." Tony told them explaining what he could about those he knew about, at the same time he had JARVIS send out a message to Charles about who had shown up. "The twins aren't actually twins, he's one guy, he can multiply himself. He's actually quite well know as Multiple Man: he use to be famous as James Madrox for robbing banks and getting away with it because he'd always have a solid alibi. I'm not sure who the giant with the big football helmet its, though I'm guessing he's super strong by the looks of him, and I'm not sure about the emo punk chick either, so watch out for her. But, the Asian dude is Quill, he's like a freaking porcupine, he can shoot porcupine-like spikes out of his skin. And I mean from everywhere too. So don't think you've won because you've snuck up behind him. The dude with the weird visor thing is Avalanche, he can create earthquakes. The guy on the end is Riptide, and like I said, he can create tornados. He can create small, medium and large ones. If you see him start to spin his body super fast, either get out of the way, run, or hold on for dear life. Then the red guy in front, if my info's correct, the only thing he can do is teleport, but you have to be careful, because he likes to grab a hold of people and teleport miles in the sky and leave you to free fall back to earth. I'll keep an eye out if starts doing that."

"Well, that's a hefty list of powers: fire control, creates tornados, earthquakes, teleports-when are these guys going to end?" Hawkeye asked exasperated. "Seriously, what could they be doing here, and they're just sitting there too!"

The group of mutants were indeed just standing there doing nothing, just looking around the city. The Avengers didn't want to engage them incase they were just there to collect their fallen, though they wouldn't let them have them, seeing as they were criminals. Suddenly another person walked off the jet. She has long brown hair pulled back into a perfect ponytail and tattoos, she was a bit short but held an air of authority that rivaled Director Fury's. She started barking out orders the other mutants who listened before they all started walking towards the Avengers, looking menacing and ready to attack. Pyro had balls of fire in his hands, Riptide had foot tall tornados in his, the goth emo girl had what looked like pure energy coming out of her hands in a bright purple color to shape blades, Quill's entire face seemed to spurt out spikes, the earth started to quiver, and the twins soon became triplets, then a quartet, then a quintet. The short woman lead them as they marched, looking ready for anything.

"I believe I found their leader." Thor said pointed with his hammer covered at the woman.

"Good for you, you win a Pop Tart when he get home." Hawkeye said sarcastically and rolled his eyes, though Thor looked excited at the mention of his favorite Earth food.

"I shall hold you to that Eye of the Hawk." Thor said back as he gripped his hammer tighter, the mutants coming closer.

"Hey, heads in the game everyone." Captain America ordered. "This fight wont be as easy as the first one."

"Second rounds are always harder than the first." Tony said simply. "That's the first rule to fighting."

"And video games." Hawkeye commented with a slight smirk, and everyone knew Tony was smirking under his Iron Man mask.

"All right, here they come." Bruce said nervously, the skin around his eyes and his finger tips where turning green.

The mutants were now half a block away and they could hear some of the orders the woman was giving out.

"Sabertooth, I want you and Avalanche to take the Captain, Avalanche, keep him off balance, Juggernaut, you and Madrox to take the Hulk, Madrox, keep him busy with your clones while Juggernaut slams him." She said.

"Of course Callisto." Juggernaut and Avalanche answered while the other two just nodded or grunted in understanding.

"Riptide, you take on the God with Psylocke." Callisto ordered. "Psylocke, try not to hit him, he's an idiot."

The emo goth girl, apparently named Psylocke simply nodded.

"Hey, I heard that. I am right here you know." Riptide said insulted.

"Shut up!" Callisto yelled. "Quill, you take Black Widow, no holding back."

"Never." Quill said, eyeing the Black Widow with a hungry look. "Her blood with rain from the heavens."

"Azazel, you take Hawkeye." She ordered and the mutant in question simply smirked. "Pyro, you and I'll take Iron Man."

"Gotcha." The teen said, throwing one fire ball up in the air eagerly. "Lets get this party... STARTED!"

As Pyro screamed the last word, he hurled a fire ball at the group of super heros, and though they were prepared to block it, it never made it to them. Just as Pyro leased the ball of flame, another Jet landed in between the two groups, causing them both to back away. The fire ball hit the new jet and died out. The Jet was long, slick and black, thinner than the jet the mutants had come in and taller than the Quinjet. The engines whirred to a stop as it shut off and the belly opened up letting a small group of people in yellow and back leather suits to exit.

They were obviously another group of mutants, though they didn't look nearly as dangerous as the first. Most were teenagers and seemed harmless, though there was one teen that was blue, had pointy ears, and a tail. There were two teenage girls who seemed the polar opposite: one with a large smile and ponytail talking animatedly to one of the boys, and the other walking beside a large man in a yellow suit that had a mask, she had a blank face but seemed to be brooding over something. The teen boy seemed to be interesting in whatever the girl was talking about but they were soon brought out of their conversation by one of the adults, one with snow white hair and dark chocolate colored skin. she had a cape attacked to her uniform and seemed strict. There was another woman who seemed to be in charge, though much younger than the white haired woman, she had long red-brown hair and a pretty face. She walked beside a young man who was glaring though some sort of odd visor-type classes that covered his eyes only at the man in yellow after the muscular man made some derogatory comment and flipped him off with what looked like butter knives that came out of his knuckles.

The Avengers didn't know what to do as the group walked towards them. Captain America didn't think they were going to attack them, but then again, they were obviously mutants and he hadn't met a mutant yet that didn't attack them.

Thor was prepared for battle, holding up Mjölnir at the ready, though he didn't attack, waiting for them to make the first move.

Bruce was trying to keep Hulk inside until otherwise ordered to let him out by Steve, though he was thinking similar thoughts as Steve, he wasn't sure they were going to attack.

Both Hawkeye and Black Widow had their weapons ready to fire, taking Thor's example of being ready to fight rather than wait for them to attack before getting prepared. Cling had his arrow notched and Natasha had the safety off and her finger on the trigger.

The only one who wasn't prepared for them to attack was Tony. Iron Man seemed relaxed now that the new mutants had arrived, though none of the other Avengers seemed to even notice, until he stepped up to meet them half way.

"Great! You're all here!" Tony called, lifting his face plate and walking toward the group. "I didn't think you'd make such a perfect entrance. Who was driving? Was it you Jean? Or was it Scott. It was Scott wasn't it? You're getting a flare for the dramatic aren't you?"

The group chuckled as the man with the visor, Scott, blushed and stuttered.

"O-of course not!" Scott stuttered. "It was just good timing!"

"Sure it was." Said the blue boy, his german accent coming though. "Don't believe him Tony, he's been watching too much TV."

Everyone laughed again as Scott blushed. Tony bellowed out a laugh, that would have made Thor's laugh sound like a five-year-olds giggle, as he slapped Scott on the back.

"Um Tony?" Bruce called out confused.

"Iron Man!" Captain America yelled. "What is going on? Who are these people?"

"These my good Cap-i-tan are the X-Men." Tony said, turning around. "And they're the good guys, just like us."

Bruce, Thor, and Captain America all relaxed, though Hawkeye and Black Widow didn't, not knowing if they should believe Tony or not.

"Seriously guys, they're okay." Tony sighed as he noticed that not all his team mates trusted his word. "They're not going to attack you, they're here to help."

"It's true, we were sent to help you guys out." said the red headed woman. "I'm Jean. And yes we are mutants. My power is telepathy and telekinesis. But I'll respect your privacy and stay out of your minds."

Jean demonstrated by picking up a rock with her mind and spinning it around her head.

"And I'm Shadowcat, but you can just call me Kitty!" said the happy teenage girl. "I can walk though walls and other solid objects! Hit me Jean!"

Jean, using her power tossed the rock at the young girl and it went right through her.

"Hello, I'm Bobby, but my mutant name is Iceman." Said the teenage boy, turning an icy blue until he looked like a human shaped ice cube. "I can turn to ice, I can also control ice and freeze anything."

"My name is Kurt, but please, call me Nightcrawler." Said the blue boy as he crouched down to a lower level and waving with a three fingered hand, he had a thick German accent. "The obvious, I'm blue and have a tail. But I can also teleport."

"I'm rogue, you shouldn't touch me." The brooding girl said as a way of introduction. "I'll suck your energy and knock you out."

"I am Ororo, or Storm." Said the black woman as she stepped forward with a nod of her head in a low bow. "My power allows me to control the weather."

"I can too fair maiden!" Thor bellowed with a bow of his own, causing several of the mutants to chuckle. "A pleasure to meet someone with similar strengths as myself."

"The pleasure is all mine I'm sure." Storm nodded back.

"I'm Scott, but you can call Cyclops." Said the young man with the visor. "I shoot laser beams out of my eyes, hence..." He trailed off as he waved toward the visor on his face.

"Wolverine." The gruff man in yellow grunted. "Healing, metal bones, permanent knives and increased sense." Wolverine lifted his fist and three long metal blades came from his hand, in between each knuckle.

"Right, this is Black widow with the gun, Hawkeye with the bow, Bruce Banner with the green tinged skin, he turns into Hulk." Tony said, beginning to introduce the Avengers. "The loud blond is Thor and the blond in the tight spandex is Captain America."

Kitty squealed as she jumped up and down and ran over to the Captain.

"Oh my god, oh my god! I can't believe it!" She squealed. "I'm a huge fan Mr. Rogers! After we defeat the Brotherhood, can I have your autograph?"

"Uh... sure?" The Captain said, a little confused at having a teenage girl suddenly so close to him, though he quickly snapped out of it when her words caught up with him. "Wait, Brotherhood?"

"Yeah, the Brotherhood." Kitty said turning to look at her fellow X-Men. "We've been fighting them for years, though they've never directly attacked New York before."

"Years? But you can't be older than 16." Bruce said shocked.

"Yeah, well, that's what happens when you're a mutant." She shrugged as if it were nothing. "We don't have much choice. It's either let them attack and let humans blame mutants as a whole, or try to stop him and show that not all mutants are bad."

"But surely there're others who can fight." Clint asked. "Other adult mutants and not teenagers."

"We don't have to fight, we choose too." Bobby said, looking at his fellow teenagers. "And to us the choice is pretty clear: we choose to fight for the future."

"Well said Ice Butt." Wolverine chuckled, earning himself a glare from Scott. "I hate to break up this little love-fest, but the enemy seems to be getting rather impatient with us."

He jammed his thumb over his shoulder and they could all see that he was right. The Brotherhood mutants were coming closer, looking eager to fight them.

"Right, so who's up for a good round of 'Eradicate the Evildoers?'" Tony asked as he shut his faceplate.

"You're getting weak at making up names Tony." Nightcrawler chuckled. "I prefer the name 'Beat the Brotherhood.'"

"Nice one Kurt." Tony commented back with a laugh.

"And how do you know these X-Men anyway Iron Man?" Captain America asked as he watched the interactions between his teammate and the mutants, it was obvious they had met before, they were calling each other by their first names after all.

"Some of them saved my life when I was younger." Tony answered, telling half truths. "We became friends. I support them a bit. It's all really fascinating and whatnot, but can I explain later? We are kind of in the middle of a battle."

"I will hold you to it Stark." Natasha said dangerously. "You will debrief us in SHIELD."

"Fine fine, whatever!" Tony said as the Brotherhood mutants started running at them. "Here we go!"

With that, they all sprung into action, splitting up into small groups and duos to fight the Brotherhood. They seemed to be sticking to their previous orders, attacking their intended Avengers, only having to deal with mutants as well. Riptide and Psylocke attacked Thor, whom had teamed up with Storm, seeing as they both could control the weather. Riptide threw tornados at them but Storm dispersed them easily with her powers, sending her own back at the man, while Psylocke attacked Thor with her psi-blades, dodging the Gods' attacks with her telepathic powers.

Azazel attacked Hawkeye, who, along with Cyclops, began shooting volleys of both arrow and laser blast at the red mutant, though he easily transported away to dodge them. He tried to keep them confused by methodically transporting to different spots around them.

Quill began shooting his spikes at Black Widow, who was about to dodge but Jean stepped in front of her with her hand held out, using her telekinesis to stop the spikes and send them back to their original sender. He dodged and threw more spikes at the women. Shadowcat grabbed them both and the spikes flew though them.

Captain America was attacked by Sabertooth and Avalanche. Avalanche shook the Earth enough for the Captain to loose his balance and Sabertooth tried to take him to the ground. But Wolverine tackled him before he could. They rolled around on the ground, old enemies who knew each other very well. Rogue stood next to the Captain watching.

"You should just let him fight Sabertooth, they're old friends." Rogue said sarcastically. "Lets just take Dominik down."

The Captain simply nodded and turned to the Mutant, noting her indifferent look, though he could see that she was at least slightly worried for Wolverine's safety as she stared at the two mutants rolling on the ground fighting before turning to ward Avalanche, Dominik and they both charged him.

Bruce wasn't sure what to do as he stood off to the side. The Captain hadn't given him the go ahead to Hulk-out, but he didn't really have a choice as the tall, nearly 9ft tall man ran towards him. Luckily for him the Furry blue teen named Kurt grabbed his arm teleported them out of the way and Juggernaut ran past them and smashed into a deserted and already half destroyed bus.

"Hey thanks." Bruce said, a little dazed at the transport.

"No problem." Kurt said, his German accent coming on thick. "You turn into the Hulk right?"

"Yeah, though I'm not sure if he'd be any good right now or if he'd attack everyone." Bruce said worriedly.

"I think I'd take the chance if I were you." Kurt told him as he eyed Juggernaut trying to climb out of the completely destroyed bus. "I can't keep teleporting you out of the way."

Just then Multiple Man-rather several of him-came charging toward them.

"I think you might want to let the Hulk out!" Kurt yelled, getting ready to teleport if absolutely necessary.

He was just about to grab Bruce's arm when he heard a deep growl from his right, he looked over and saw that Bruce's skin was turning a deep green color and he muscles were bulging, causing his shirt to rip at its seems.

"I-I'd suggest you-GAH!" Bruce tried to speak though his transformation, he still wasn't very used to doing it on purpose. "You m-move ou-out of th-Uh way!"

Kurt took a few steps back, but that was it. He didn't want to get in Bruce's way during his transformation into the Hulk. He watched fascinated by the change. Bruce's muscles expanded, not unlike some mutants who had the power to expand, and they were now a deep green that reminded him of overwatered grass: dark earthy green with a fluid motion. Though Kurt did notice that it looked, and sounded, very painful, he did not envy the doctor.

Luckily for them, Multiple Man had stopped charging them as soon as he saw Bruce start to transform, giving them a slight reprieve; sadly though, by that time Juggernaut had gotten himself untangled from the bus and was charging back at them. Hulk took one look at the mutant that almost made it to his shoulders and sniffed in irritation. He easily swatted the man back into the bus, essentially knocking him out, and turned toward the small group of identical men and growled.

All the Madrox's cowered and one, presumably the original, ran away, leaving his four clones to stay and fight, he was lucky that he didn't feel what they felt, because there was no way they were going to win. Seeing that the man was running, Kurt teleported straight into his path and grabbed him. He teleported them back to the group, dropping him on his ass right in front of Hulk.

Hulk was not impressed by the little man sitting in front of him and his copies behind him; they had tried to attack him. He didn't like that, but he knew that Banner didn't want him killing anyone, so instead of stepping on him, he took a threatening step forward and smashed his fists down into the cement, on either side of the scared man and roared. He stood up with a smug grunt as the man passed out and his copies faded. He then turned to the small blue creature that had started whooping with a fist in the air, saying something about 'smashing and intimidation.' He growled and turned toward him; he had never seen a creature like it before; it was blue with pointy ears and a long, pointed tail. It only had three fingers and toes but otherwise, it was shaped as a regular human.

However, what was most shocking to Hulk was that it was not scared of him. He nearly froze when it bounded closer and patted him on the shoulder before climbing up onto his shoulder. He wasn't sure what to do, it didn't seem to want to hurt him, but he was confused. He was used to thinking things like 'Will hurt Hulk' and 'Will hurt Banner', or 'Run' and 'Need escape', and recently when thinking of Metal Man(Tony Stark) it was 'Friend' and 'Must protect.' But now he wasn't sure what to think. Was this creature a threat? Was it a friend? He didn't know it, so it couldn't be a friend yet... could it? He didn't have any of those outside of Metal Man. But the furry blue creature wasn't afraid of him, touched him even without even being a bit wary. Hulk decided then it was a friend, but he still didn't know what it was.

"Blue creature." Hulk growled. "What want?"

"Creature?" Kurt asked, sounding confused. "I'm Kurt!"

Just then Iron Man flew over head, stopping for a second as he dodged a fireball.

"Hey Big Guy! Welcome to the party!" Iron Man said as he hovered in the air above them for a second. "Made friends with the Furry Elf I see. Have fun!"

He dodged another fireball and flew away. Hulk looked to Kurt and gave a sort of smile thinking that he had made another friend, Metal Man had even said so.

"Elf." Hulk grunted.

"Ugh." Kurt groaned at the nickname, but had a smile on his lips. "First Tony, then Logan, now you? I'm never going to live that nickname down." Hulk frowned for a second before he heard Kurt chuckle. "I guess it could be worse."

They turned around at a loud noise behind them. They saw Juggernaut getting up, rubbing his head still looking dazed. Hulk growled again.

"You wanna take him?" Kurt asked. "He resilient one of the strongest mutants out there. But for you, it'll be like-"

"Hulk smash." Hulk growled.

"Exactly!" Kurt said chipper. "I'll take Muliti-Man and move him out of your way."

Hulk grunted in appreciation, knowing Banner would be devastated if he killed anyone. The Elf popped away, leaving a small cloud of black smoke that smelled of volcanic ash, but Hulk ignored it as he charged the now standing mutant.

A few blocks away it looked like a completely different city. There was storm clouds and lightening and hail. Trees whipped in the wind created by tornados that tore at the road and vehicles on it. Thor smashed down, knocking Riptide off balance and punching him into a car. The man sure knew how to take a punch, because he got up again, though he could barely stand up straight. Thor knew the mutant was on his last leg. He had refrained from using Mjölnir because he didn't want to kill the man. But keeping his strength in check was getting hard. He had to hit with a quarter of his strength, because he was sure that if he hit with even half his full strength, he'd tear the mans head off. Though the man couldn't even call upon his abilities anymore, he was too busy trying to stand properly: one more punch would finish him.

A little ways away, Storm was floating in the air, wind whipping up around her as she shot small bolts of lightening at Psylocke. She was also pelting her with hail. Psylocke's visibility was nearly zero, but it didn't matter, she was still dodging the bolts easily. She was using her telepathic powers to predict her where the next bolt would hit and dodge, though a few times she had slipped on the icy ground and was nearly hit. It was only a matter of time before she was hit. Psylocke couldn't hit her from down on the ground, her psi blades couldn't extend nor could she throw them, she had to hold them or they would disappear, she had no chance of beating Storm.

Both Thor and Storm easily knocked their opponents unconscious, piling them on top of each other when they were done, not sure where to meet back up with everyone.

On the next street over, Rogue and Captain America were trying to Avalanche, though he kept using his powers to shake the Earth so much it created tranches that surrounded him, leaving him on an island of sorts, well out of reach of Captain America's shield as he heckled the two. Captain America could easily jump these with a small running start; however, Avalanche would shake the ground making it hard for him to get a running start and properly jump. Now this still wouldn't be much of a problem for him, except that he had to look after a teenage girl as well. He didn't feel like he could simply leave her to fend for herself; he didn't even really know what her powers were, she had simply said "you shouldn't touch me," and "I'll suck your energy and knock you out." Did she mean she would that for just mutants? Or humans too? And what would happen to him if he did touch her? Would she suck out his energy, or would she take his powers too? If so, would he get them back or would he return to that skinny, sick, and worthless Brooklyn boy?

He shook his head, glancing over at her he decided not to worry about it, she seemed to stay far enough away. And besides, the only skin that was showing was her face, he couldn't touch her if he wanted to.

"Hey Stars and Stripes!" A deep voice called and the Captain turned to see Wolverine standing by himself. "Haven't put a dent in that boy yet? Better get to it, I'm almost though with this Bozo."

He was confused for a second before he saw Sabertooth pulling himself off a crushed car, the Mutant looked haggard. The Captain looked back at the Mutant he was fighting and making a decision. He was going to make the jump, knock the man out and and jump back across with him. He'd have to hope that Rogue would be able to take care of herself.

Just as he was taking a step back, Sabertooth flew into their area, coming to a sliding halt in front of Rogue. The mutant groggily tried to get up, but then Rogue ran up, yanking her glove off her hand and thrusting her bare skin to touch the mutants face. After a few seconds the large mutant fell back to the ground, unconscious. Captain America stared in surprise before looking at Rogue, and getting the shock of his life. Rogue was transforming. Her hair grew a bit and she gained at least a foot in height, her build increased substantially: her shoulders became more broad and her muscles grew. Her finger nails turned claw-like and her teeth turned sharp. Though she didn't exactly look like Sabertooth, she definitely could have been mistaken for his daughter.

The Captain could only watch in shock as the newly transformed Rogue ran and easily jumped the ten foot gap. She punched Avalanche so hard that he flew across the gap and onto the other side. He hit a parked car and stayed down, until Rogue jumped across again and grabbed him, walking around the crater to dump the unconscious mutant on his teem mate. Wolverine walked up, looking a little angry.

"Did you really need to interfere?" Wolverine demanded. "I had him!"

"Yeah, but I was tired of listening to Dominik's taunts." Rogue said in a bored tone, though it wasn't in her normal voice but a thick, deep, gravely growl. "Doesn't matter know, they're both defeated and we can sit back and watch the others risk their lives."

Wolverine snorted and patter her on the back. She started to change back. Her larger form shrunk away and her hair receded, as did her nails and teeth.

"Yeah, whatever Squirt." Wolverine smiled fondly as he ruffled the girls hair for no more than a second. "But no breaks, lets go see if anyone needs help."

"I can help with that." Captain America spoke up, snapping out of his shock, he'd have time to ask about all of his questions later, after the fight. "It seems like your team has teamed up with at at least one of my team part of their group. And most of my team has communicators."

"So I noticed, but we can handle it Bub. We have communicators too." Wolverine said, barely keeping his sneer in check.

He didn't like the man in front of him, he was part of SHIELD. Tony had told them all about SHIELD, how they like to experiment on unknowns, and even though they didn't know SHIELD's stance on mutants, he automatically didn't like them, at least until they gave him a reason to. He pushed on his communicator in his ear, calling out for the rest of his team and giving a report.

"X-Men, Wolverine calling, me and Rogue are done. We've teamed up with Captain America and finished off Avalanche and Sabertooth." He said into his com ignoring the look of surprise on the Captain's face. "Anyone else done? Anyone need any help?"

"Thor and I took down Riptide and Psylocke, they're both knocked out." Storm said though the com. "What's your location? We'll bring them over to you."

"Hey, what street are we on?" Wolverine asked Rogue, but before she could answer, Captain America spoke up.

"If you're thinking of tying them up, we have a small group of Mutants from the first attack tied up in a building near here, on 7th street." The Captain said, trying to be of help. "We knocked them all out and put them in a closet."

Wolverine snorted before he gave the Captain a good once over, trying to detect a lie or a trap, and seeing none he nodded.

"Meet us over on 7th street, apparently the Avengers tied up the first wave and shoved them in a closet." Wolverine said, sounding slightly amused.

"Right, we'll bring them right over." Storm said, and there was a click, indicating she turned the link off.

"We'er nearly done over here." Kurt's voice filtered though. "Me and the Hulk took out Multiple Man. Hulk scared him so bad he passed out, and he's taking on Juggernaut right now. It's hilarious! Like he's playing with a child! We'll be done in a few minutes. You said 7th street right? I hope that closet is a walk in because it needs to be big to fit Juggernaut."

"Yeah 7th street." Wolverine answered, knowing to ignore the rambling of the teen.

"Right then, see you in a few!" Kurt said happily and disconnected the link.

Logan sighed and picked up the unconscious Sabertooth, then turned toward the Captain, who had already picked up Avalanche.

"Well, show us the way to this closet of evil mutants already." He huffed and followed the Spandex wearing man, Tony had been right, it was a very spangly outfit.
