Chapter 25: Manic's Demise
The war was on, and very wolf was fighting trying to kill the other pack. Manic and Shade were facing off against Sonic and Shadow, and the rest of the wolves were facing off against each other.
Manic jumped on Sonic and opened his jaws and aimed for Sonic's back. Sonic, however, turned around just in time and countered by clawing at Manic's muzzle. The werewolf howled as blood dripped down his face, stinging his eyes. Sonic took this opportunity to pin his brother on the ground, growling at him ferociously.
How did you ever become an evil good for nothing monster? Sonic roared.
Years of practice! Manic said, shoving the Alpha off and forcing him down.
Soon you'll all suffer the same fate as your friend Tails! Shade said to Shadow.
Why do you two want to be gods, anyway? Shadow asked.
We want power! Shade said. Once we're gods this planet will be ours! Why do you insist on protecting these wretched humans when you can get rid of them! what good have humans ever done to you?
We protect them because we have to, Shadow yelled at him. Your prophecy will never come to pass; we will see to that! He pushed Shade off him and knocked the Alpha to the ground then clawed at his chest. Shade howled in pain.
As Sonic and Manic continued fighting, the two werewolf packs attacked each other. The Chaotix, Knuckles, and Silver were battling Manic and Shade's werewolf pack. Fur and blood flew through the air as the werewolves on both sides were wounded. Some of the werewolves on Manic's side were even killed by Sonic and Shadow's pack. Silver and Knuckles had forced some of the werewolves on the ground and were violently killing them by clawing at their chests until blood flowed from the wounds. Shade saw this and kicked Shadow off of him then rushed over to face them but Espio tackled him to the ground. Shade got up and looked at him.
The two wolves attacked each other viciously. Shade snarled viciously and pounced on Espio, pinning him to the ground. Espio tried to get up but Shade dug his fangs into Espio's chest and tore away his flesh. The wolf howled in pain as Shade then clamped his jaws around Espio's neck and closed. A loud crack was heard as Espio's neck broke. Shade growled and looked at the dead werewolf, then turned away to focus on Shadow and Sonic again.
The fight went on for a long time. Both sides were evenly matched and determined to kill each other but then something happened to change that. Suddenly the blood moon shone down on Sonic and Shadow, causing them to howl in pain. Then, suddenly, they began to grow as did Manic and Shade
Manic and Shade stared in horror as Sonic and Shadow grew bigger and bigger until they surpassed the trees. The two werewolf kings looked down at their enemies with a grin.
You're finished, Sonic said, looking at his brother with a grin.
Manic growled and attacked but it was no use. The two Alphas grabbed Manic and Shade and pounced, pinning them down on the ground. The rest of the wolves in Sonic and Shadow's pack were overtaking Manic's pack. Manic and Shade exchanged looks and growled, knowing that they had lost but that didn't stop them from trying. They roared in anger and tried to get up but Sonic and Shadow were now too strong. The Alpha werewolf kings lowered their snouts to their enemies and growled menacingly.
Sonic...Shadow...please, we're sorry! Manic yipped in fear. We could make an alliance with you!
Sonic looked at his brother and laughed. You're lying, Manic. I think you know by now that there is no way you can defeat us now.
Please have mercy on your only brother! Manic pleaded.
You are not my brother anymore, you are my enemy, Sonic said. I'm curious, though, why I should form an alliance with you and what would we do?
Manic said nothing and stayed silent.
Sonic laughed. That's what I thought, he said, and closed his jaws around Manic's neck, killing him instantly. He and Shadow looked at Shade, who was afraid that he would be next.
You can't get rid of me! Shade pleaded.
Chip walked up and glared at Shade. You have made an alliance with Manic, and have tried to kill us. I am sorry, Dark Gaia, but I must kill you.
He nodded to Shadow. The Alpha wolf king growled and advanced on Shade then pounced on him and ripped the evil wolf's throat out, decapitating him instantly. Sonic and Shadow feasted on their enemies' remains and threw their heads back howling in victory. They had won.
