He had never been very close to Sheriff Andy in fact the only time he had spoken to him was the night Sookie called him about Alcide's murder. He was desperate and terrified that something bad had happened and the fact that they had never found Bills body made things worse he needed someone who knew so Eric flipped his phone open and made the call.

"Andy she's gone" his voice was panicked

"when" Andy knew something like this was going to happen and with all the strange things going on around town lately he was growing more and more suspicious.

"While I was taking Earl to school" Eric felt nauseous as he spoke,

"we were at the hospital last night and someone came into her room and took her things and then when I got back this morning she was gone and the nursery was empty, it has to be him."

Andy paused this was not the first time a woman's thing had disappeared from the hospital in fact it had been happening a lot lately. Andy had already been looking into the odd thefts but when Tara called him before work and told him what had happened to Sookie in her hospital room he really started to put things together.

The things stolen up until that point had been mostly medical supplies and small personal items but everything of Sookie's was gone down to the magazine she had been reading and that screamed danger to him.

"Eric I have to ask you something important"

"yeah ok"

"are you sure Alcide was dead when you got rid of the body?"

Eric froze his heart sinking to his feet he and Sookie hadn't moved the body they both assumed that when it was gone that night that Sheriff Andy had gotten rid of it.

"Yes Andy he was dead you saw that for your self right?"

Andy had seen his corpse lying there with his head almost separated from his body but he had to ask because every corner he turned every witnessed he questioned about the thefts, all of them gave a description that fit only one man he had ever known and that was Alcide.

"Well I know he appeared to be but you know stranger things can happen, when you moved him he didn't show any signs of still being alive did he?"

"Andy we didn't move him you did so why are you asking me?'

"Mr. Northman I may have looked the other way because I knew and had known for many years what he had put Sookie through but am still a state official and I wouldn't be caught dead moving a body from a crime scene."

"Bill, he was here that night them he had to have been, it has to be Bill Andy."

They both knew they couldn't report Sookie's disappearance; if they did they would have to explain the details and that meant both of them were in big trouble an what good would they be doing Sookie then. The men agreed that they needed a plan with all thefts in the area and the hospital equipment that had been taken Bill had to be staying close by and that meant the two of them would have to search every inch of Bon Temp.

"I'm on my way, don't touch anything"

Eric hung up the phone looking around the empty kitchen he didn't see any signs of blood or a major struggle so maybe he wasn't going to hurt her, maybe they could find her before anything went wrong. The walls felt like they were closing in; it was his job to protect her and he had failed.

A few minutes later there was a knock at the back door; Eric pulled it open quickly making the small woman on the other side jump in her skin. He had assumed it was Andy knocking and felt like an ass when he realized he had startled the woman,

"I'm sorry I thought you were someone else." He tried to smile but it didn't do much good the woman only seemed more nervous,

"Mrs. Stackhouse?" Eric noticed an orange envelope in her hand,

"she's not here right now, can I help you?"

The woman looked Eric up and down she wasn't sure if she trusted the man standing in front of her he seemed odd; his eyes were wild and frantic. He seemed to be panting as if there were danger near by and his body language was hostile, she knew she could get in trouble for giving him the envelope but the truth was she really wanted to be far away from him.

"I can sign for that" Eric held his hand out for the envelope she was holding

The woman cautiously handed the envelope over and waited for him to sign before rushing off the porch and jumping back into her car.

Eric watched as the girl left before tearing the envelope open; it was the results to the paternity test Sookie had taken Eric read the results over and over panicking more each time. He had told Sookie every day that it didn't matter if Alcide was the father of their baby that he would love it and her either way each time wondering deep down inside if he was telling the truth.

It took a minute to sink in but he realized as he looked down at the piece of paper it really didn't matter; all that was important was finding her and the baby and keeping them safe.

Sookie opened her eyes; her whole body felt heavy like she had just worked all night at merlots like in the old days. The room was dark but warm and she could feel that she was in a bed but that was all she could feel her body was numb she couldn't move a thing not even a finger to help herself.

"B.. Alcide" she instantly remembered everything that had happened earlier that day.

Sookie struggled to get away from Bill but he had over powered her and finally hit her over her head with his gun causing her to loose consciousness. Bill tossed her body over his shoulder rushing out of the house and heading into the woods; It didn't take long for Sookie to wake from the knock on her head the sharp pain in her stomach jolted her into the moment.

She groaned in pain her body tensing up around the contractions that were ripping through her body.

"Sookie?" Bill laid her body on the cool ground and caressed her stomach "is everything ok?"

"No" she panted through another contraction

"I am having contractions B.. Alcide"

The look in his eyes wasn't concern his face was not tender; her was angry and tense "are you fucking kidding me, I knew I should have came back sooner, stupid bitch you can't even do this right."

Sookie was shocked she didn't bother responding to his words but she needed to think quick somehow she needed to get him back to being nice so he wouldn't do anything stupid.

" Maybe it's not maybe I just need to rest a minute, can we rest a minute?" she tried to sound as sweet as possible,

"No, the car is just up there, we need to get you home." Sookie cringed as Bill pulled her to her feet and shoved her forward,

Another pain tore across her back as she trudged through the cold mud and brush with her bare feet, Sookie had no idea what Bill was planning to do with her for all she knew he was planning to kill her once the baby came but she had no other choice but to go along with him. Sookie looked around the woods for any signs that would tell her where they was or might be headed and for a moment she wondered if she should leave a trail of some sort.

She tried dragging her feet deeper into the mud but the cold and pain that was trembling through her was to much and if Bill saw that she was still having contractions there was no telling what he might do. Finally she could see the truck Bill was talking about and panic started to set in where was he going to take her Alcide owned property all over the place; he had bought a home in just about every town she had ran to trying to hide from him.

Sookie steadied herself determined to run she could face getting into that truck and being lost to Eric and Earl forever. Bill had been walking behind her but once they saw the truck he hurried toward it reaching in the back for what looked like a blanket; that was it her only chance Sookie clutched her cuffed hands around her belly and headed back into the thick brush.

The branches crunched under the weight of her feet tearing into the soft skin between her toes in was painful but she push through running harder and harder until another kind of pain knocked her of her feet. Sookie screamed as a pain shot through her shoulder and across her chest;

"You fucking shot me!" she screamed kicking her feet up at him as she flailed on the ground.

The thick blood ran from her shoulder and down her arm "Sookie I told you not to run"

Bill screamed at her dragging her by her foot back through the woods toward the truck, Sookie kicked and fought trying to ignore the pain that was pulsing in her shoulder.

"Ugh" she yelled out grabbing her stomach and rolling to her side; Bill stopped dropping her foot and kneeling next to her; he pushed her onto her back and caressed her stomach.

"I told you not to run, look what you did you bleeding all over and now the baby is in danger"

"I'm bleeding because you shot me Bill and my baby is in danger because of you."

His eyes turned fiery red and his teeth cracked under the pressure of his jaw; Sookie knew immediately what she had done, he was pissed and tired of playing games with her. She tried to dodge and duck as her struck her face but it was no use another contraction pierced through her and she froze with the pain.

"Alcide stop" she managed

He looked at her his hand still raised ready to slam into her head again "why do you make me do this?" he started to sob resting his head on her stomach,

"I just want to love you"

Sookie felt the vomit building in her throat; she couldn't take it anymore the pain the felling of him touching her the cold it was all to much she rolled away from him her body shivering as she heaved uncontrollable. Bill rubbed her back and held her hair from her face playing his role as concerned father and husband and Sookie realized the only way she would get through this was to play her part too.

"Alcide I'm cold" she panted

Bill picked her up cradling her to him and carried her to the truck she didn't fight him even though their closeness was making her sick; Bill pushed her into the back seat of the truck wrapping a blanket around her and loosening the cuffs. She smiled at him trying her best to play the loving wife and she thought Bill was buying it until her pulled a syringe out of his pocket and stuck it in her leg; Sookie went numb her eyes fluttered as her head dropped back in the seat.

She could feel Bill stroke her hair and hum what sounded like her and Alcide's wedding song to her just before everything went black.

"B…Alcide?" The room was warm and dark but Sookie could tell she was not alone; his breathing was heavy and ragged letting her know he was asleep somewhere close. She tried to lift her arm wanting so badly to touch her stomach and make sure her baby was still safe inside but it was no use nothing would move no matter how hard she tried.

The warm tears rolled down her face as she cried silently to herself; this was her fault she had gotten to comfortable. Sookie knew she should have taken Eric and Earl and gotten far away from Bon Temp in the beginning but she wanted stability and most of all she wanted to raise her baby in her childhood home.

Sookie didn't realize until then how much she had missed her life in Bon Temp while she was running; she regretted marrying Alcide from the begging and wished she could go back to that day she met him and just walk away. Her heart ached when she thought about Eric and Earl and how upset they would be when they couldn't find her and she sobbed harder unable to control herself.

"You 're awake" his voice made her angry as he tried to deepen it to sound more like Alcide.

"I can't feel anything" she tried to see him in the dark room;

"It's ok I numbed you so I could fix your boo boo" he made it sound like she had fallen and scrapped her knee.

"The baby?"

"It's fine" he lifted her hand and laying on her stomach,

Sookie couldn't feel anything no movement and bubbles inside and she prayed it was just because she was numb and something hadn't gone terrible wrong.

"Alcide I need to go the hospital, I think something is wrong with the baby"

Bill laughed at her as he walked around the room turning on the lights and monitors; Sookie was shocked when she saw what surrounded her in the room. There were heart monitors for her and the baby and a small machine sitting on a night stand next to her was reading her contractions that had thankfully stopped, an IV bag hung from a pole that stuck out of the hospital bed she was laying in and she was sure the liquid inside was more than water.

Across the room there were different sets of monitors smaller ones that surrounded a tiny plastic bassinet filled with blankets and other baby items. Sookie could only assume this was where she would be staying until the baby came unless she could figure out a way to get out of this mess.

"I told you I have everything we need" Bill waved his hand over a tray of surgical instruments.
