- Epilogue -
A man dressed in regular muggle clothing walked up to the only house upon a hill in Ottery St. Catchpole. He looked around as he walked up to the door and noticed the occupants were inside the house. He took a deep breath before raising his hand and knocking on the door as he waited for an answer.
"Sweetheart, can you see who is at the door?" asked a man with long white hair and unconventional attire.
"Sure daddy." A girl replied as she skipped to answer the door.
As she opened the door she smiled up at the individual knocking at the door as he smiled back at her.
"Hello Professor Scamander." The young girl said, "Are you here to see my dad?"
"Why yes Luna I am here to see -." Isaac said before he trailed off as he saw the man he came to see appear in the room. He stood up straight before addressing him. "Good day Xenophilius, it has been quite some time."
"W-why yes it has Isaac." Xenophilius responded as he set down a cup he had on his hand. "Well, please take a seat." He offered Isaac as Luna walked back up to her room.
"This is about the Order of Merlin isn't it?" Xenophilius asked as he offered Isaac a cup. "Sirius has already asked if you want to know… why did you return?"
Isaac took the cup and drank as he sat back on a chair. He knew Xenophilius well enough he isn't one to play games and dance around a sore subject. Putting the cup down he looked around trying to remember the last time he was there.
"We don't hear much about anything going on here in the mainland." Isaac said "Once I heard about Sirius Black escaping and then the incident with the Tri-Wizard Tournament I made the decision right then and there to prepare for a return. I knew it was simply a matter of time before Sirius contacted me about the Order."
"So I take it your boy is coming?" Xenophilius said as he put down his cup.
"Yes, though he is quite upset about being uprooted." Isaac answered with a slight chuckle.
"Well he is a teenager."
"That he is. You know your daughter was one of the few who joined this underground club that the four made at Hogwarts?" Isaac said as Xenophilius looked at the ground.
"I know you are scared for your daughters life. After what happened to the Diggory boy and the youngest son of the Weasley's. I have that same fear as well. But unless you are truly planning on running away or shipping your kid away there is no denying that dark times are coming and they will be facing it. It seems your daughter by joining the group has come to that realization."
The two were shocked as Luna appeared from the staircase and sat in a chair by her dad. She looked up at him smiling as she drew her hand to held his.
"I want to help daddy." Luna said as Xenophilius smiled down at her daughter and giving her a hug as Isaac watched on.
"You know it's been a while since I dueled. Not since -." Xenophilius said as he trailed off as he and Isaac stood up.
"I know it took me a while myself. I'm sure they are watching over us and our kids." Isaac said smiling.
"So what happens next?" Xenophilius asked as he held her daughter close to his side.
Pulling a mirror out of his cloak Isaac smiled over at Xenophilius...
- Epilogue -
I had intended to reveal who the two were in the beginning of the sequel. But I figured some here have already figured it out so why delay it and just come out and confirm it.
Now I could do some Author Notes here as to not spoil anyone if they were to go to the profile page.
- This is not a dark or gray Harry story.
- The original draft was different in many ways... just to name a few:
Harry never gets rescued from Privet Drive (the prologue plays out similar to Canon)
The Order of Merlin make themselves known after his trial (Sirius, Isaac and Xenophilous)
The teenagers (Neville, Susan, Daphne, Luna, Rolf) are kept out until the climax of the story
Harry stayed close with Hermione, Ron and company throughout the story (there was no friction between the 'Golden Trio')
Hogsmeade trips instead of Quidditch (Harry would not only date Cho but be his girlfriend until they broke up at...)
Hermione dies instead of Ron (Harry breaks it off with Cho... due to her parents forcing her too. At Hermione's Funeral)
Now unto some what to expect
- Darkness Ascending which will be the titled sequel, first chapter will be up the week of April 13, 2015 (I will update this story one more time which will be the release of the sequel).
- Some were a bit confused regarding the Order of Merlin and it's secrecy. I will delve deeper into it in the sequel.
- While the two sequels may still share some parallels to the books (i.e. Umbridge, The DA, Blood Quill etc...). The sequels won't do it as much.
- I handicapped myself by putting a cap on my word count per chapter. It caused some things to get cut and I read some reviews where people actually caught it. So I will state there is no word count cap in the sequels but it will at least have a minimum of 5,000.
- Draco! I got some big plans for him. Its going to be a long wait until you see the whole picture but I hope everyone will get to appreciate and enjoy it once it comes.
- Last update before I go full steam ahead. The finishing touches of the outline should be done in the next couple of days. Now why the long break between the two it's simply because while I have had most of the story planned out. There are a number of things that were not decided on including original characters and key pieces of the plot. for example I didn't come across Mafalda's name until a week or so before I began writing the chapter that revealed her. So I'll actually be putting together some of those names before instead of while I am in the middle of writing it.
And another thing to consider is I will be away for two weeks on vacation.
