Authors note: Hey there Road Trip so this new chapter is a little longer than the last one but I hope you like it. I want to thank everyone for their kind words in regards to Bump. Road Trip is the sequel to Bump and will focus on Paige and Mike as a couple as they get to know each other will as they cruise up the California coastline. There will be comedy, action, suspense and of course romance. So I hope you all enjoy. I'm sorry for the typos and bad grammar I will work on and Paige as they continue their road trip up north. Now they have a new friend in Roadie. Like the previous chapter this one will be Mike getting to know more about Paige's family. What adventures are in store for Graceland's best couple let's find out.

Paige sprinted up the sandy hill to Mike who had his arms out with a towel waiting for her. Paige dropped her board and nestled into Mike's chest as he wrapped her up in the towel. The two stood there for a few minutes just enjoying the peace and quiet. "Good Morning" Paige said her face buried in the towel.

"Good morning to you to how was it out there."

"Absolutely perfect there is no better way to start the day."

"Really? There is no better way to start the day?"

Paige smacked his arm "You pervert" she said with devilish grin

Mike just laughed, "I was talking about a morning run get your mind out of the gutter Arkin."Paige raised her arms as she wrapped them around Mike's neck pulling his head down. "Why don't you join me?" Mike brought his lips to hers as they shared as passionate kiss.

"Hey love birds" Both looked up to see Amy near the back door, "Steve's making coffee you want some?" They both nodded, "Ok well come inside when you're ready we have a fire started." Paige and Mike looked at each other before they sprinted inside. The warmth from the fire filled the house quickly as everyone gathered on the kitchen. "So now that I have you two here do you care to explain why you both came stumbling into bed near 4am this morning." Katie asked pointing at both Steve and Mike.

"Oh we were just getting to know each other honey no big deal." Katie rolled her eyes at her husband's answer. "And getting to know one another involved an entire bottle of scotch and all the pizza?" Mike shrugged his shoulder, "We had a lot to celebrate?" Katie looked at Mike giving him that same look his mom gives him when he's in trouble. "Oh Katie leave the boy alone. Ok we laughed, we drank, we ate and we bonded is that really so bad?" Seeing the look on Katie's face that wasn't the response she was looking for.

"Wait how come I wasn't invited to this bro bonding time?" Bill asked. "Seriously these two are in the dog house and you want to join them?" Allie asked her husband. Bill knew the best answer was no answer so he just kept his mouth shut. "Katie we were having a good time talking and then Sorcerer came on and…."

"AHHHHHHH" all the girls said at once in annoyance.

"You and that movie seriously dad" Paige said

"Hey that movie is a classic" Mike said

"Wait you like that stupid movie to?" Paige asked

"It's not stupid" Mike, Steve and Bill said in union son. "Since when do you like that movie?" Allie asked. "Ever since I saw it with your dad when we first started dating. That movie is bad ass. I'm pissed you didn't wake me up Steve and I know Allie I'm in the dog house." Allie smacked Bill's arm, "Could you not swear in front of our daughter."

"Okay look Katie, Paige we're sorry about last night. I couldn't sleep Steve offered me the scotch I took it then we had a few more glasses. I'm sorry for the mess we made we weren't at our best after finishing off the bottle. Paige I'm sorry if I woke you up last night coming back to bed." Paige walked over and hugged Mike. "Mike I'm not mad about last night. I think it's pretty awesome you got shit faced with my dad."

"Seriously! People there is a two year old right here!" Allie screamed pointing down at Lindsey who was too focused on Roadie to care what the grown-ups were talking about. "Anyway the person you should be apologizing to is my mom which you have so mom can we drop this." Everyone looked at Katie who just shrugged, "Okay Mike, Steve apology accepted."

"But I didn't…"Steve tried to say before being cut off by Amy "let it go Steve" patting him on the chest. He tried to say something else but Amy gave him a look and after that he smiled.

"Okay people what is the game plan for today?"Katie asked

"Bill and Dad are golfing Del Monte today. Mom you and I have a spa day at Casa Palmero. Kelly and Amy are taking Lindsey to the aquarium so that leaves you two." Allie said pointing at Paige and Mike.

"I would like to I tag along with you Kelly and Amy and take Lindsay to the aquarium. It would be nice to spend some quality time with Lindsay. " Just then Lindsay came running to Paige. She picked her up and gave her a big kiss. "Want me to come with you, Auntie Kelly and Amy to the aquarium?'Lindsay nodded her head in excitement then looked at Mike pointed and yelled, "quarim quarim". Mike looked at her with a puzzled look.

"She's trying to say aquarium and she pointing at you to come to" Allie said

"Now how can I say no to a face like that? Ok Lindsay I'll come to the quarim too." Lindsay reached over towards Mike and hugged him.

"Great then we all have plans so next is who's cooking breakfast?" Katie asked

"I'll cook as long as I don't have to wash any dishes." Mike said

"Deal" said everyone else

"How did I still get stuck doing dishes again?" Mike asked as they parked the car.

"It's an Arkin rule whoever is the last at the table has to do the dishes for family breakfast." Amy answered. "Didn't Paige give you the 411 on the Arkin law?" Mike looked over at Paige who could only smile, "No I wasn't given that information." Paige and Kelly laughed as they got Lindsay ready. Amy gave Mike a gentle hug and playful slap on the arm, "Don't worry they did the same thing to me and Bill when we were newbie's. It's their way of welcoming you to the family." Mike smiled at the thought that he had only met Paige's family less than 24 hours ago and they considered him family. Once they got her coat on Lindsay tried to run off Paige quickly grabbed her and picked her up. Lindsay fidgeted trying to break free, "quarim quarim" she screamed. "Lindsay calm down or we will go back home you got it." Lindsay stared down her aunt seeing who would break first. What Mike found more amusing than Paige was having a staring contest with a 2 year old was her tone of voice just then. It was very motherly like how she talked to her CI's when they were in trouble. Finally the little one realized she was no match, "sorry" she said quietly. "Now I'm going to let you down and you're going to hold my hand and we're going to walk to the aquarium ok?' Lindsay nodded and did as instructed.

Once they got inside Mike could understand Lindsay's excitement. "No wonder this is one of the best aquarium's on the world it's amazing."

"Mike this is just the entrance and lobby." Kelly said

"I know and it's amazing I can't wait to see more where do we start." Then the intercom came on and announced that the penguin feeding was going to start in 5 minutes. Lindsay smiled wide jumped up and down letting everyone know where she wanted to go. "Babe why don't you and Paige take Lindsay to the Penguins I want to show Mike the Sharks."Hearing the word Sharks got Mike's attention. Kelly grabbed Mike's hand, "Will meet around the Sea otters in 30 ok?" Paige could only nod and mouth to Mike have fun before Lindsay dragged her towards the Penguins. Amy gave Kelly a quick kiss, "Have fun you two" then she ran up to catch Paige. Mike had no time to think before Kelly was dragging him to the Sharks.

The first shark they saw was the Broadnose sevengill shark. Mike and Kelly stood there as they watched the creature move about.

"I love sharks" Mike finally said not even looking at Kelly

"I know Paige told me"

"When was that?"

"A few months ago it was shark week when I talked to her. Paige told me that her cute new roommate loves sharks."

"So you know Paige and I live together?"

"Yeah and I know that you and Paige don't have desk jobs with the FBI and DEA." Mike's face went white and turned to Kelly, "What did Paige tell you?" He said with concern for not only he and Paige but her family as well.

"Nothing Mike I swear but I know my sister pretty well to know that a desk job is not she style and from I can tell about you it's not yours either. Whatever you and Paige do for the government its hush hush but you're both smart and obviously good at it so I don't ask questions or raise my concern for her safety and neither does the rest of the family. We know she is safe and with you around they are even more assured of her well being" "What about you?"

"I like you Mike but I'm not convinced just yet. That's what this little chat is about. I want to see if you're worthy of my sister. We had a good talk while surfing yesterday and she has opened up to you more than anyone even in her own family. She thinks the world of you. "

"And I think the world of her to Kelly."

"I know you do Mike but this isn't about you and Paige. This is about you and me."

"What do you mean?"

"From where I standing we are going to be in each others lives for a very long time and I want to make sure you're not going to drive my sister back into another state where closes herself off the world." Kelly looked at Mike and sighed, "If I tell you something but you promised never to tell Paige?"

"Paige and I have so secrets I can't promise you that."

"Fair enough it will be up to you to tell her or not. I never liked Aaron. Well not ever I liked him at first but not for that long."

"Really from what I heard everyone loved him?"

" Like I said I liked him at first but then I met Tommy and I knew this was trouble. Yes Aaron did not use drugs and get into trouble but Tommy was his drug .No matter what he said or did Aaron always helped him and made excuses for him. Aaron even brought Tommy up here a few times. I was always making sure things weren't stolen. I heard Paige and Aaron argue over Tommy and it drove me nuts how he made excuse after excuse for the guy. Tommy was bad news and Aaron allowed him to be part of his life and now my sisters and I didn't like it. Aaron always said he wanted to help Tommy and sadly that got him killed. The day he died I lost my sister she withdrew from everything and everyone. She kept to herself and only let us in when she felt like it. Mike you have helped bring my sister back to what she was before and I'm grateful for that but I promise you I won't let history repeat itself."

"Kelly I can't tell you what I do for the bureau but I can tell you that people in my personal life are not like Tommy at all and after what she told me yesterday I don't intend to have people like that around me." Kelly looked at mike and she knew he was telling the truth. "I believe you Mike I do but there are other ways you can break my sister's heart."

"I'm going to cheat on her Kelly." Kelly laughed at that. "Mike trust me if you cheated on Paige there wouldn't be any of you left for me to beat down. Knowing my sister she would kill you."

"You're right finding my body would be as impossible as Jimmy Hoffa's." Kelly smiled she liked that Mike ha d a good sense of humor even when having a serious conversation.

"What I mean is you and your job. The rest of the family feels better now that your there with her but what if something happened to you? I don't want to think how she would take it. Look I'm not saying I want you to quit or anything just think before you act. Can you do that for me?"

Mike placed both hands on Kelly's shoulders and looked her right in the eye,"Yeah Kelly I can do that and this conversation will stay between us."Kelly wrapped Mike in a tight hug, "Thanks Mike". He returned the hug. "So does this mean you like me?" Kelly looked up and smiled, "not yet but you're getting there." Mike smiled it wasn't the answer he was looking for but it was a good start.

The two walked around seeing all the other sharks from the great white to leopard shark. They soon found their way to the reptile area. "These are Amy's favorites she seriously wants one for a pet" Pointing at the Green Sea Turtle. "So how did you two meet?" Mike asked "We met our freshman year she was dating my asshole of a neighbor God he was such a tool."

"He?"

"Yeah she dated guys before me then she finally saw the light. At first we hated each other she is the exact opposite of me. Unlike me who is brunette, I played soccer, I didn't party and I didn't care what people thought about me . Amy on the other hand was blonde, a cheerleader, sorority girl, major partier and superficial."

"Kelly you are talking about the same Amy right? I mean beside the blond hair I don't know who you're talking about."

"Trust me Mike I'm talking about the same girl you're never the same person when you graduate then when you go into college I'm not are you." "I guess you're right so it was that bad between you two." "Ah yeah she teamed up with the asshole to make my life miserable she would blast movies, music all the time even when they weren't there. She would scream loud when having sex with him and would bang on my wall during it. It pissed me off to no end. We almost went to blows a few times."

"Damn so what changed?"

"We had the same English lit class in the spring and our professor assigned us as partners for the practical midterm exam. I was so pissed I begged my professor to let us switch partners but he said no. the report was worth 20% of our final grade and I wasn't going to let miss blonde bimbo ruin things for me so I decided to work on by myself. Later that day she came to my room and asked when we wanted to get together and work on the project I told not to bother I will work on it and it will be an A project all she has to do is write her name. Well that set her off she went nuts on me saying I had no right and this was as important to her as it was to me. I laughed at her telling her what I thought she was I mean I really went off on her."

"What did you say?" Kelly sighed, "I told her she's a superficial bitch who has the I.Q. of a 5 year old who should just save her rich daddy the trouble of paying for school and just drop out marry some sugar daddy and pop out some kids. I know it's not my proudest moment"

"Hey there is no judgment here"

"Thanks Mike"

"So what happened?"

"Well after my verbal assault I saw her eyes were full of tears and she ran off. I instantly felt like shit and ran after her but I couldn't find her. I didn't know where she lived so I figured I see her at class. When she didn't show up I went to talk to the asshole but he was no help surprise surprise. Then I checked her sorority house and sure enough she was there. I apologized for what I said. I told her she was right it was her project and she should contribute and if she wanted to I would be at the library later the next day at 3pm."

"So I'm taking she showed up." "Wow nothing gets past you Mike." "Hahaha so what happened?" "Well she showed up and she impressed me. She had a lot to say about the project and had some amazing points that I never thought of. Combined we produced a kick ass project and aced the class. We developed a respect for each other after that. Whenever she came over to see the asshole the loud music and TV stopped. When he was rude to me she would apologize. Soon we started to hangout and a friendship blossomed."

"So how did you two go from friends to girlfriends?"

"We just hung out a lot and then one night she came by upset because the asshole was being well an asshole. We decided to have a girls night in ate pizza drank wine after a couple of bottles of Cabernet we decide to play truth or dare. It was playful at first nothing too crazy but then I dared her to kiss me. I knew she was straight so I thought she would back out but she didn't. When she kissed me it was nothing I ever felt before and I never wanted it to end. Soon we were making out on my couch then my bedroom yada yada yada she's making me pancakes the next morning."

Mike laughed, "Seinfeld reference love it. So were you two exclusive after that?"

"Not exactly we snuck around for a few months she wasn't sure what we had so I didn't push her. She wasn't sure if she was gay or was just having fun but the more time we spent together the more real it was becoming. When the asshole caught us he thought it was a present for him but after she told him that wasn't the case he was not a happy camper. She told him she loved me and that was it for him. He went to strike her but I kicked his ass. I am a black belt in Taekwondo. Things were rough for her many of her friends were there for her but some were not which was tough but the worst was her parents. When she told them they didn't take it well they haven't spoken in 3 years."

"Wow poor Amy?"

"She was devastated she has tried to contact them but they don't ever answer. She talks to her sister and two brothers but that's not often since they're all underage and her parents don't want them talking to her. She misses them like crazy but luckily she found a surrogate family with awesome parents."

"Steve and Katie are pretty cool"

"They're the best aren't they"

"Well I like to think my parents are really cool"

"I bet they are but not as cool as mine"

"Agree to disagree. So what was it like when you told Steve and Katie?"

"Well my mom, Allie and Paige all knew before I did. I told them when I was 16. They laughed at me. Paige said well it's about damn time you admitted it. They were great about it."

"And your dad?" "I told him a few days after. I was so scared to tell him he and I were are so close and I was afraid I would destroy our relationship. When I did tell him he grounded me and didn't talk to me for a day."

"He what? That doesn't sound like Steve" "He wasn't mad that I was a lesbian he was mad that I didn't tell him. He had been bugging me for weeks because he knew something was wrong and I wouldn't tell him. He was hurt that I didn't trust him and thought so little of him thinking he would shun his daughter. I tried to reason with him but he wasn't having it. I cried when he walked away as I tried to explain. Later I heard him and my mom arguing about it man was she pissed. I kind of understood his point of view we were thick as thieves I told him everything and for the first time in my life I lied and kept something from him and it hurt him. The next day he finally talked to me and we hugged it out but I was still grounded for a week."

"You can't be serious? For what?"

"For lying to him." Mike just laughed, "God your family is crazy but I love them."

"Well they love you two Mike"

"Still not sure Kelly?"

"Not yet but I'm getting there" Kelly smiled as she hugged Mike. The buzzing of their phones got their attention. Kelly looked at her screen, "Its Paige wondering where we are they have been waiting by the sea otters for close to 10 minutes."

"Mine says the same thing. We should probably head over there"

"Yeah let's go besides there is a lot more to see."

As they walked down the hallway Mike asked, "So can you tell me why you all call Paige Frumpy?"
