At lunch time JJ headed out of her office to catch up with her best friend. Coming into the bullpen she took a seat on Emily's desk. "Lunch?" She asked as the profiler looked up.

Emily looked down at her wrist, and was pleasantly surprised to see the time. "Sure," she said standing up and wiping her hands on the side of her pants. JJ slid off the desk and they started walking to the elevator together. "Has this week been going slow or what?"

"I know, I want a case just so I can stop doing paperwork. Does that make me a horrible person for wanting a case?" JJ asked looking over to her friend.

"Only a little," Emily joked as they walked into the elevator. "But I would be lying if I wasn't thinking the same thing."

"Plus Henry's on break, so that's making me want to be home even more than usual." Henry's summer holidays had started the week before.

"Summer vacation…my favourite part of school," Emily said as the elevator doors opened.

"Yes, well Henry wants both me and Will home, and doesn't see why we have to work through summer."

"Ah, wouldn't it be great if we did get that sort of time off?"

"We'd go stir crazy," she said remembering back to maternity leave.

"Mmm," Emily agreed, three months sounded good in theory, but after a month she be dying to be back at the Bureau. "So how is everything going with you and Will? You've been together for a couple of weeks now?"

"I made a huge mistake."

JJ hadn't stopped thinking about her and Emily's conversation all day and night, and she barely got any sleep because of it playing over and over. Will could tell something was up, but knew she would tell him in her own time, though he had no idea what it could be, he just hoped it wasn't something bad.

"What's up?" Will asked after opening his eyes and seeing JJ sitting crossed legged and staring at him. He wondered how long she had been doing that, all he knew was it was a weird way to wake up.

JJ took a deep breath, she knew it was time. "Have you been back to your apartment recently?"

"Once or twice maybe…Why?"

"I think you should go back there tonight."

"What? Why?" Will asked, still not sure where this was going, but he wasn't liking it.

"And I would like the keys I gave you back as well."

"Okay, what is this about?" He asked, this was certainly not the conversation he wanted to have or thought they would be. But when JJ didn't answer, Will bent over the side of the bed and picked up the pair of jeans he was wearing last night and felt around the pockets until he found them.

"I was talking to Emily yesterday," JJ started as she saw Will begin to take the house key off the key ring. "And we were talking about you and me and it made me see things more clearly," she said and Will slipped the key into her hand. He should have fought to keep it, but he was still not 100% certain on how this would play out, it could still turn around, he was holding out hope, though everything she said and did made more slip away. "And I haven't been able to stop thinking about it, and I know what I want".

"Which is?" he asked timidly.

"I want you to permanently move in with us," she announced as she smiled at him while turning the key over and over in her hand nervously.

"I am very confused right now," Will said, which weren't the words he wanted to say, but that dramatic change of emotions made things a little harder to process.

"So?"

"Yes," he smiled. He could have pulled out his answer and tortured her like she had him, but he didn't want to play games he just wanted to say 'yes'. "Now can I have my key back?"

"Absolutely," she said giving it back to him.

"Why did you take it from me in the first place?" Will asked and he tried to put it back on the key ring.

"I gave you that key when you were just Henry's father. But now you're so much more than that," she smiled happily before leaning over to give Will a quick peck on the lips. "It's symbolic," she said not going completely back to her sitting position.

"It's the same key."

"But it has a different meaning."

"But it's same key," he grinned cockily.

"Shut up," she grinned before moving her mouth back to his.

When their lips parted, JJ rested her head on his chest like a pillow. She didn't know why she had been scared to ask him, she was certain she had known his answer, but the fear of rejection was hard to let go. "Why do I have to go back to my place tonight then?" Will asked after some silence.

"To pack up your things, and to bring whatever you can here," she answered as Will rubbed her upper arm with his thumb. "Though only if you want to," she said tilting her head up.

"Why tonight? You and I both have the weekend off, so far, why don't we go then and you and Henry can help," Will suggested, but JJ scrunched her face up a bit, she didn't like packing, she still had nightmares over when she moved to this apartment.

"I guess. Though I don't know how much help Henry will be," she joked.

"I'll work out some arrangements today," he said kissing her on the forehead. "If you don't mind me asking what was your conversation with Emily about?"

"I made a huge mistake."

"What do you mean? What mistake?" Emily asked worried, what could possibly be a mistake? From as much as she heard everything had been going great, and JJ hadn't been happier than she had been in the past few weeks.

"Not calling him when I found out I was pregnant, or really just breaking up with him."

"Oh," Emily let out a breath of relief. "Yeah, you did," she laughed. "But you're making it work now, and that's all that matters."

"I know, but I just can't help thinking 'what if'. We could have been like this for years. Henry could have had his father his entire life."

"All true, but you can't live in the 'could have beens', you just have to enjoy the now."

"I do, I really do, but it's just hard not to think about it."

"I know," Emily said knowing full well what she meant. "So how serious is it between you guys?"

"Very, I guess," JJ answered.

"No, I mean are you going to get engaged, married or really live together anytime soon?"

"I don't know. We don't really talk about it, but we're taking it slow."

"Slow? It's been about seven years….how much slower can you guys get?"

JJ paraphrased most of it, she didn't even want to bring up engagement or marriage, because that would be way too soon for them. "You know I love lying in bed with you, but we should probably start getting ready for the day," JJ said as she glanced over at the clock on the bedside table.
