One Year Ago...

Newly resurrected Sam Winchester stood on the side of his black Dodge Charger staring down at the newspaper in his hand. 'Man and woman found dead in their vacation home on the shore of Lake Erie, daughter still missing', the headline read on the front page of the paper. Sam was currently waiting for Samuel to arrive so they could hurry up and work this case before the daughter ended up with the same fate as her parents.

Just then, Samuel's van pulled up beside the Charger and the older hunter stepped out. "Sam," He acknowledged his grandson.

"Hey, what took you so long?" Sam asked as he set the newspaper aside and stood off from his car.

"Sorry, I was just back from a hunt. A nest of shapeshifters in Alabama." Samuel explained. "Actually, the only reason I came here was to tell you I have to leave to Jersey. Christian think they got a lead on some nasty witches up North."

"You're leaving me to work on this case alone?" Sam asked.

"Not alone." Samuel replied. "I called in a friend." He looked over to the empty parking spot on the other side of the Charger where a red 1969 Camaro pulled in.

Sam shifted to get a better look the moment a slim brunette woman climbed out in jeans, a olive green tee, a black leather jacket, black steel-toed boots, and pitch black shades. She gave the pair a friendly smile as she approached. "Samuel," She greeted before being pulled into a small half-hug.

Samuel chuckled after releasing her and turning to his grandson. "Sam, meet Blink Jackson, best hunter in the Northeast Region."

The woman held a hand out that Sam took to shake. "'Blink'?" He raised an eyebrow.

"A nickname." She stated simply.

"Why do they call you that?" Sam asked, releasing her hand.

"Girl finishes hunts in the blink of an eye." Samuel explained. "Like I said, best hunter in the Northeast Region. She'll be the one helping you on this case. Now, if you don't mind, I gotta nest of witches to catch in Jersey." Samuel then turned to Blink. "It was nice good to see you again."

"You too, Samuel." She replied before the older hunter climbed back into his van and drove away.

Blink then turned back to Sam. "So, you wanna go hit up the morgue, check out the bodies?" She asked.

Sam nodded. "Sure, I'll go get us a motel room."

"'Us'?" Blink repeated. "Didn't realize we were already in the sharing-motel-rooms stage of our new partnership."

Sam chuckled and shrugged. "Just trying to be conservative."

"Sure you are." Blink replied with a small smile to which Sam responded to with a wink. Blink shook her head and chuckled. "Meet you at the motel." She said before walking back to her car. She could feel Sam's eyes on her as she opened the door and climbed inside.

Half an hour later, Blink pulled up at the motel to find Sam standing beside his own car, keys in hand. "Hey," She greeted. "You get the keys to our rooms–plural?"

Sam chuckled. "I got the keys to our room–singular." Sam answered as he dangled them in her face before moving to open the door.

Inside, there was only one bed, once couch, a TV, fridge, kitchenette, bathroom, and table. "There's only one bed." Blink pointed out as she set her duffel bag at the edge of it. "Guess I'm taking the couch."

"No, you go ahead and take the bed. I don't sleep much anyway." Sam shrugged nonchalantly before walking in to set his own bag on the table. "I'm gonna grab my suit from the car. We can change before heading to the morgue."

"Got it." She said, pulling her own suit from her bag. She walked to the restroom, shutting the door and locking it behind her. The last thing she needed was for Sam to 'accidentally' coming in while she was half-naked like he 'accidentally' got a room with one bed. Not that she minded. Sam was a pretty good looking guy, tall, built, muscular, long hair, nice cheek bones, beautiful hazel eyes, and a flirty and cute personality. But Blink knew she had to keep her distance when it came to hunters.

There were rules when it came to life, according to her life-long mentor. Number one, trust no one but yourself. Number two, don't be a hero. Number three, play dirty and don't go easy in any fight. Number four, be careful with hunters, some could be smart. She could sleep with whatever mutton-head she found with his head laid against a bar counter, but she just had to make sure they would catch on to what she really was...

After getting changed, Blink and Sam both headed out to the morgue where the two bodies of Blake and Rosaline Carter were laid out on two autopsy tables. Sam was going through the medical reports after Blink interviewed the Doctor in charge at the morgue. "Talked to Dr. Terry." She exclaimed as she entered the lab. "Find the cause of death?"

Sam set the clipboard he held in his hand down and turned back to face her. "Yeah, apparently their hearts were both torn out."

"You thinking werewolf?" Blink asked as she walked over to where Mrs. Carter's body lie. She pulled the sheet up to see the large, gaping hole where her heart was.

"Most likely, yeah."

Blink frowned at the corpses in front of her before pulling the sheet back to cover Mrs. Carter. "Well, this can't be the first time this wolf's killed. Let's head back to the motel to figure out his last victims. Maybe there's a pattern that might lead us back to the daughter he took."

"Right."

The pair got back to the motel half an hour later. Sam had gone out for food and beer while Blink changed into her more comfortable attire of leggings, a royal blue low-hanging shirt, and a ponytail holding her long brown locks out of her face.

When Sam came back, he found her sitting at the table with her eyes glued to her laptop. He caught a glimpse of her crossed legs underneath the table as he made his way to the kitchen to set the beers in the kitchen and serve up the portions of Chinese food he'd gotten, and he had to admit, he liked what he saw.

Ever since his return from Hell, all Sam could think about was hunting and finding things to distract him. He knew he probably should've gone to Dean and Jamie, but they were live their normal life and Sam had his hunting life. A life away from responsibilities and liabilities. No drama, no attachments, no emotion.

Blink seemed like the kind of girl who understood that sort of unattached, drifter life. Not to mention, she was drop dead gorgeous. Now the only remaining question was how was he going to get her in bed?

"Find anything?" Sam asked her as he moved to sit across from her at the table. Setting down her own carton of lo mein noodles and a bottle of beer.

"Thanks." She said before pushing the laptop aside for the moment. "Nothing yet. I've only just started looking through homicides. If nothing turns up here in the city's database, I may have to try Missing Persons."

"Hmm, maybe." Sam hummed in agreement as the pair dug into their food.

"This is great, thank you." She said in between bites.

"No problem." He replied. "So, Blink, tell me about yourself."

"Like?" She promoted, a mischieviously glint in her eye.

"How about your name for starters?"

Blink laughed. "Woah, buddy, we're not on that level of partnership yet."

"You know my first name." Sam pointed out.

"And you know my nickname." She countered. "Let's leave at that."

Sam smiled, amused at her sassiness. It was cute. "Alright..." He dropped the subject and moved on. "How'd you start hunting?"

Blink shrugged as she dug her fork into her carton of noodles. "Can't really remember." She admit. "Feels like centuries ago. I just remember my first kill was a vampire."

"Nice." Sam nodded.

"Yours?"

"Ghost." He explained.

Blink pursed her lips and nodded. "Simple. Basic."

"Something wrong with that?"

"No, just not what I expected from you."

"And what did you expect from me?" He prompted with a smug smile.

"I don't know." She shrugged. "When Samuel told me about his grandson, didn't think you'd be that much to look at, but maybe I was just biased because Samuel was practically my own grandpa back when I first met him."

"And what do you think now?"

Blink chuckled. "I'm thinking...maybe if you weren't Samuel's grandson, I'd offer to share the bed."

"Like I said, don't sleep that much anyway. I don't mind the couch." Sam shrugged nonchalantly, knowing he was getting under her skin. He just had to hit the right button.

"Really? That's it?" Blink smiled, her eyes twinkling with curiousity. "Huh. Didn't think you'd give up without a fight. I'm impressed."

"Well, I said I didn't mind the couch. Wouldn't mind the bed either."

"Thought you said you didn't sleep much." Blink pointed out.

"I don't." Sam said as he set aside his carton of Chinese food and stood up from the table. "But I'm prepared to lose a few hours of sleep with you." He then took her hand and pulled her to her feet, their chests pressed together as Sam slid his hand around her waist to pull her closer. He leaned his head down and captured her lips, hesitantly at first– he didn't need to get punched.

Luckily, Sam had hit the right button in Blink and she immediately began kissing back, her hand moving to intertwine her fingers in his long locks as his free hand cupped her cheek. Their kiss became filled with more passion and hunger as Sam dropped both his hands down to Blink's thighs. She caught onto what he was doing and quickly wrapped her hands around his neck before being lifted up off the ground, her legs immediately hitching around Sam's waist as he carried her over to the single bed the room.

They broke their kiss when Sam moved to pull his shirt off from over his head, revealing to Blink his muscular chest and abs with the anti-possession tattoo over the left side of his chest. "You've seduced a lot of women, haven't you?" Blink quipped slightly as she began to tear her jeans off.

"What makes you think that?" Sam asked casually before ducking back down to plant kisses down Blink's neck.

"You picking me up and dropping me over here on this bed effortlessly?" She chuckled as he pulled away again to undo his jeans. "Don't get me wrong, it was hot. But I know experience when I see it."

"That a problem?"

"Not unless you're looking for a real relationship."

"Not a chance, you?"

She laughed slightly when Sam pulled her by her hips to lay down directly under him on the bed. "Nope." She said, popping the 'p'. "But, since we are partners and professionals, let's not make this a habit."

"One time thing only, got it." He said in a haste before returning his lips to hers in a more pressing matter.

Blink and Sam spent the rest of the night screwing like rabbits. Did they wake up the neighbors in the next room over more than once? Possibly. Was it the best Sam had ever felt since Ruby? Yes. Did Blink really want this to be a one time thing? No.

The next morning, Sam woke up to an empty bed. That was a first, he thought to himself as he began to look around the motel room. His eyes finally landed on Blink standing in the kitchen eating what looked like Chinese food, her hair was a tangled mess on top of her head and her neck was exposed, leaving an easy viewing for Sam to see all the red marks he'd left from that night. He was sure he had some matching marks–in more places than his neck–but the marks on her neck wasn't what really caught his attention. "Is that my shirt?" He asked, propping himself on his elbows to get a better view.

Blink turned around then and chuckled. "Yeah. You left it on the floor, figured it was a waste of good shirt if I just left it there. Plus, I was lazy and didn't feel like digging through my own bag to find my own clothes."

Sam smiled as he dropped his arm over the side of the bed to hold up her black lace bra discarded on the floor. "Found some of your clothes."

She rolled her eyes. "Very funny." She quipped as she set aside her Chinese food and began to walk over, unbuttoning the shirt as she did so.

"Round five already?" Sam asked, perking up a bit.

"You wish." She replied, throwing his shirt at his face so she could pick up her bra and put it back on. "Now, get dressed. We have a missing girl to find and some werewolves to kill."

"You get any leads with that while I was asleep?" He asked, buttoning his shirt off before locating his briefs and pulling them on as well.

"Yup." Blink answered. "There's an abandoned cabin not far from the Carters' cabin. A few decades ago, another family living there before them had been killed. Their hearts were ripped out and their nine year old son went missing. Almost twelve years later, the son comes back a changed man and apparently buys the property next to the cabin's, where– get this–the abandoned cabin is."

"You think that's where our monsters are?" Sam asked, having just finished buttoning up his pants as Blink finished pulling on her own regular clothes.

"My best guess. And I'm usually right on this sort of thing." She said with a smug smile. "We should probably shower, we both smell like sex."

"No kidding." Sam chuckled.

"Wanna flip a coin?" She suggested.

Sam pretended to think it over for a minute before shrugging. "Nah," He then bent down to lift Blink up by the back's of her thighs again, carrying her into the restroom.

"I thought this was a one time thing." Blink gasped in between kisses.

"Let's make it a two time thing." Sam said in a husky tone as he attire her shirt off and began trailing kisses from her jaw to places that made her cry out for more.

After the pair finished up the werewolf case, they ran into each other again on a Poltergeist case in West Virginia and a two time thing turned into a three time thing, a three time thing turned into a four time thing, and a four time thing turned into a too-many-times-to-count time thing. They set up a no-strings-attached relationship over their many months of screwing and hunting.

They would meet each other between hunts and sometimes during hunts. Some days he'd meet her at her hotel, some days she'd meet him at his motel, and some days they'd just pull over underneath an overpass.

Samuel knew what they were up to and wasn't sure how to feel about it. His practically daughter screwing his grandson. A bit odd and awkward. But Samuel made Sam promise to keep it drama-free and separate from work and to make sure it didn't effect his hunting abilities.

Blink, on the other hand, had other problems. She knew she shouldn't be doing this with a hunter of all people. But when it came to Sam, it was hard to say 'no'. Like he'd done before, he knew which buttons to press to get what he wanted and give her what she wanted. It was all good until a few months after their relationship initially started.

It was a simple meet-up outside of Atlanta. Samuel was sending Sam out to Colorado hunting a Rugaru while Blink was heading out to Orlando hunting what seemed to be a Tulpa. Blink had just crawled out of bed half-naked to go take a quick shower before heading out, calling over her shoulder at Sam, "Stop checking out my ass, Winchester.", as she walked to the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.

Sam chuckled and shook his head, settling back down under the covers. He didn't sleep much, but Blink had tired him out so much that night, he may have just been able to pass out. That was until he turned his head towards where her duffel bag was seated on a chair nearby. He thought his eyes deceived him at first, but the more he narrowed his eyes to gr a closer look, he realized it really was hex bag poking out from her pocket.

"Shit," He cursed before jumping up and grabbing his lighter from his discarded pants on the floor. He held it up before lighting it up. Tossing the burning bag into the trash can. What witch would have planted that and not have killed them by now? Sam was sure it was want to activate at any given moment... Unless it already had and they just hadn't noticed.

Sam was about to go check on Blink the restroom when he noticed something else poking out of her duffel bag. A book with ancient symbols on it. He pulled it and noticed a dark purple bookmark poking out of a page. He flipped towards it and saw the name on the bookmark was in Arabic. He knew enough to know what each letter spelt out, 'Blink'. This book was hers, and from the looks of it, this book was a keltic magic witchcraft book. Blink was a witch. How had Sam missed it?

A few moments later, Blink came out of the shower dressed in her casual clothes with a towel spun on top of her head. "Hey," She greeted, not seeing the book Sam had quickly shoved back into her bag before pulling his clothes on and grabbing his gun. "You okay? You look spooked or something." She remarked as she watched him somewhat hunched ovr his duffel bag. "Sam?"

Sam took that chance to spin around and aim the gun at her. He wore a grim lok on his face as he turned the safety off. "A witch? Really?"

Blink held her hands up slowly in surrender, her eyes full of fear and caution. "Look, I know what you're thinking-"

"You're a monster!" Sam growled.

"I'm not a bad witch! I don't kill people!" She explained.

"Then explain the hex bag I found hanging out of your duffel!"

"It's a tracking bag I use to plant on people I suspect of being a monster so I can track them if they turn out to be." She stated. "I promise, I use my abilities for good."

"But you're still a witch."

"You gonna shoot me, Sam?" She prompted in a calm voice.

Sam didn't answer, he only readied the gun before pointing it straight forward at her. "I'm sorry."

Blink took a deep breath before whispering, "Me too." Sam was about to ask what she was talking about when her eyes began to glow a dark green color as she chanted, "Rigescunt!"

Sam tried to move to pull the trigger, but his entire body froze in place. He tried to jerk his knee out from under him, but it didn't budge. He tried to move his finger to fir the gun, but his finger wouldn't even move. He was able to turn his head back to her and move his lips to demand, "What did you do to me?!"

"You're not thinking straight. Take a few weeks, think this over. Maybe help realize you're wrong about me." Blink said in a calm voice as she moved out of the way of the gun barrel to grab her duffel bag of things and remove the wet towel on top her head. "Believe me, Sam, there are worse things out there than me. I'm really just a hunter with a few tricks up my sleeve."

"I'm gonna kill you..." He growled in response.

"Just calm down and think rationally before you do. For both of our sakes." She replied. "But in the mean time, that little spell will wear off in an hour or two." She explained as she grabbed the keys to her Camaro waiting outside.

"No, no, no, no, no. Break me out right now, or so help me God-"

"Bye, Sam!" She called over her shoulder before rushing out of the door.

Sam stood in silence as he listened to the faint sounds of Blink climbing into her car, starting the engine, and driving away. "Bitch!" He shouted out to no one as he continued to try and move to no avail.

Sam thought he was officially done going on goose chases after girls when he'd left Jamie with Dean, but apparently he just had the best of luck when it came to things like this. He'd tracked Blink far and wide, trying to find any leads he could on the witch-hunter.

Samuel began to grow worried for Sam, he'd stopped hunting, stopped visiting, he'd basically devoted all his time not finding this girl. Then after the boy told his grandfather what she really is, he replied with, "I know."

Sam had stared at his grandfather in shock. "You know?" He repeated.

Samuel nodded. "I met the girl when I was thirty. A wraith with a vengeance had came n into town around the time Deanna and I had your mother. We hadn't seen it coming, but Blink had. That girl busted into our house a few minutes before he arrived and killed him in thirty seconds flat. She then tipped her hat and wished us a good life before heading out." Samuel explained.

"After Mary and her siblings went off hunting, we ran into her again. I recognized her immediately and we teamed up. She looked after your Mom on hunts in exchange that I kept her scent off of other hunter's radars." He continues. "Blink has done an awful lot for this family, Sam. It's best if you leave her be."

Sam clenched his jaw, unable to accept just letting her go. There was something about her that just drew him in. Maybe he liked the challenge, the rush it gave him being around her. Maybe it was because it was a girl he couldn't have. Ever way, Sam wasn't giving up that easily. "No." Sam replied to his grandfather before continuing on his hunt.

It had been a month and a half since Sam had last seen Blink. But he had finally caught a lead. According to a hunter friend she ran into during a ghoul case in Wyhoming, Blink was headed to California to track down some angel. Sam decided to follow up her same leads that led him to a extravagant party at a beautiful mansion.

Sam managed to steal himself an invitation in from a party guest who would be making it that night, coincedentally. He'd entered under the alias of some famous artist dressed in a black and white tuxedo to the event to match the formal event attire. Once inside, he grabbed a flute of champagne before scanning the room for the witch.

He didn't need to look far, he had found in ten seconds standing at the edge of the dance floor in a long, silk white floor-length gown. Her brown hair pulled up into a nice bun with curly strands hanging along side diamond earrings. Her eyes were trained on a blonde man dressed in an all-white tux. Sam assumed that was the angel she was tracking down.

The angel in white began to walk off the dance floor to a hallway away from the party and Blink began to cross the dancefloor to get to where he was. She was abruptly stopped in her tracks, however, when a hand yanked her wrist back, pulling her into a dancing position. She gasped before looking up to see Sam swaying her back and forth along the dance floor. She clenched her jaw and darted her eyes back and forth, trying to find the angel she was tracking. "What are you doing here?" She demanded.

"I should be asking you that." Sam retorted.

The angel in white begatn to walk out of eyesight, and out of the room. Blink struggled against Sam's grip. "My target is getting away." She growled.

"Good." Sam replied, nonchalantly. "Consider it payback for freezing me in a motel room for two hours."

"You were going to kill me, do you really blame me?" She shot back. Sam didn't blame her, she didn't seem like the type to give up so easily. "Now, can you please let me go so I can finish my job?"

Sam scoffed. "Yeah, right." He released one of her hands, but kept his hold around her waist as he began to pull her off the dance floor. "Keep walking." He growled into her ear as they pushed past the crowds of people, going in the opposite direction of the angel Blink was tracking. Sam led her all the way out of the mansion to his black Charger parked outside. "Get in." He ordered, opening the passenger door for her.

She hesitated, giving him a weary look before reluctantly climbing in. The moment she took a seat, Sam reach in and cuffed her wrists in iron chains. "What?!" She gasped incredulously. "Seriously?"

"Like hell I'm letting you freeze me again." Sam replied casually before shutting the passenger door, rounding the car, and climbing into the driver's seat.

"You can't just kidnap me off a hunt, I haven't killed anyone!" Blink shouted at him as he started the car.

"That I know of."

Blink let out a frustrated huff of air. "I want a phone call." She demanded.

Sam raised an eyebrow as he began to drive out of the mansion parking lot in the front. "What?"

"I want to talk to Samuel. He knows who I am, what I've done. Maybe he can talk some sense into you." She explained.

"He's already tried."

"Then why the hell are you doing this?"

Sam didn't answer, only keeping his eyes trained on the road in front of him. After half an hour of driving, Sam pulled the Charger underneath a highway overpass. He climbed out and walked around the other side to pull her out as well. "Come on." He said, walking her in front of the car, his gun in hand.

Blink eyed the gun cautiously as he pushed her a few yards in front of the car. "What? You gonna kill me, Sam? Finish what you started?" She prompted after he stopped walking her and began walking back a few yards behind her. She could feel his eyes trained on the back of her skull as he raised the barrel of the gun to point at her. "Do it." Blink continued talking. "Kill an innocent witch just trying to use her powers for good. Shoot the best lay you've probably had in years. Do it." She repeated. "DO IT!"

Sam grit his teeth, holding the gun to her head still. Why did he track her down? Because she was a monster or because she ran? She was right. If he killed her, he'd be killing his best lay and an innocent witch that could be pretty useful in hunts. So why was he pointing a gun at her?

Sam let out an exasperating sigh before putting the gun into it's holster and walking towards Blink.

Blink was completely and utterly confused when a shot was fired at her. Then she began to think that maybe he was going to decapitate her before burning her corpse just to make sure. She jumped slightly when Sam's hands rested on her shoulders and spun her around to face him. "You still gonna kill me?" She wondered, studying his blank expression. Without a moment to react or get an answer, Sam ducked down to her height and pressed a demanding kiss to her lips. When they parted after a few moments, Blink breathed in response, "I'll take that as a 'no'."

Sam chuckled before ripping the chains off her wrists and dropping them to the gravel at their feet. "Get in the car." He growled playfully.

"Overpass two-point-O?" Blink asked with a mischieviously grin.

"Definitely." Sam responded before the pair walked back to the car. But instead of climbing in the front seats, the two climbed into the back, where they stayed all night and into late morning.

Little did they know, this was only the beginning of a wild ride for the both of them.

Meanwhile, up in Heaven, Haniel watched silently as Sam Winchester had many meet-ups with The Witch. She'd been questioning his actions a lot since she ordered Castiel to raise him from Perdition like he had Dean a few years ago. Sam seemed different now; he began having a relationship with a witch despite having just lost a previous lover Haniel was currently possessing the meat-suit of, he didn't return to Dean or Jamie like she'd assumed he would, and he hunted nonstop and hardly did much anything else– but she always just assumed it was from his brief trip to Hell.

A few months ago, Haniel had ordered Castiel to raise the man after seeing what had happened to Jamie. Seeing her former vessel and long-time friend of sorts try to bring pain to herself to the point she wanted to die, brought immense hurt to the archangel. She wondered that if she somehow brought Sam back then maybe it would help Jamie feel better. But, Sam never went back to Jamie when she moved to Indiana with Dean and his new family. Instead, he stood outside their house for a few minutes before wondering off to go hunt with his recently resurrected grandfather and second cousins. It all seemed off. Wrong.

But what was she to do? She'd messed with enough life altering choices and events, she had no choice but to let Sam make wrong choices and watch as Jamie slowly build up walls and push aside her mental problems to cope without him there. It was all so...troublesome, and Haniel knew it would come back to bite her one day.

But until then...her and Castiel had a Civil War to win in Heaven against her brother, Raphael.

A/N: So, an entire chapter dedicated to the relationship development between Sam and the new character Blink. The reason for that is because she is going to play a vital role for a LONG time. She seems kind of rough around the edges now, but she will slowly mature to better fit with Sam With A Soul rather Souless Sam. And did I really name her after one of my fav Marvel superheroes? Absolutely. Also, her face claim is Pheobe Tonkin.

Chapter song is, She Loves Control by Camila Cabello as Blink Jackson's theme song.

Incorrect Quote of the Chapter:

[That 70's Show quote for you, kinda]

Blink: I don't love people.

Blink: I love Camaros, Zeppelin, and French fries, in that order.

Sam: ...

Sam: Marry me.
