HUGE THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE REVIEWS!

Here is a short chapter to show my appreciation!

Chapter 25: Boomerang

"Why couldn't I stay at home?"

"Because it's your sister's graduation," Dad said as we scanned the room for a seat.

"And your point is?"

"She will be going to Alaska soon," My Dad said, budging past everyone.

"I'm still not getting this point you are trying to make," I sighed. He rolled his eyes.

"Hello Chief Swan, Mara." A voice came from behind us, we both turned to see Carlisle and Esme; looking like one of those catalogue couples. Esme shot me a warm, motherly smile before hugging me, it felt like hugging an ice cube but it was Esme, she was too nice to be afraid of.

"Hello," My dad said, queue the awkwardness. I shot Carlisle a weary look and he caught on.

"We better go and get our seats but we will see you soon, you are coming tonight?" He looked at me.

"Yeah, sure." I nodded. The perfect couple smiled and practically glided to their seats.

"Couldn't have been more awkward huh Dad?" I smirked.

He flicked my nose, "Shut up you." I laughed.

"Hey Charlie!" I heard a familiar voice call. I turned to see the smiling and joyful face of Billy Black, waving us to the seats he had obviously saved. However, Billy wasn't the only one there.

"What are they doing here?" I said lowly.

"Mara, it's Bella's graduation," he said.

"If I knew they were coming I would have stayed at home," I hissed.

"Come on you two," Billy called.

"I'll sit at the back," I growled.

"Mara, don't be stupid. Mar-"he was already lost in the crowd. It had been a painfully empty week, the only person I had been in contact with was Quil and I hadn't breathed a word to Bella since that day.

There was no way in hell I was sitting there. Instead, I sat a few rows back but I still had direct view of Billy's face; he looked crushed. There was a seat on either side of me; I wasn't sitting next to some creeper. The ceremony started and I was already desperate to leave, it was so dull. I sighed and clapped as they all went up to collect their diplomas, not really listening to a word anyone was saying.

"I can finally get you alone," a voice said into my ear. I was about to let out a scream when a hand covered my mouth.

"Don't scream," he said. "I'm not going to hurt you if you do what I say." I whimpered against his cold hand.

"Do we have an agreement?" He hissed. I let out a shaky nod.

"When I let go, you are going to get up and leave I'll meet you at the doors, if you aren't there in two minutes I will drag you out by your hair."

"Do you understand?" he yanked my hair back, exposing my neck. I let out a muffles shriek, the people around us turned around but of course, he was gone without them seeing him.

I looked and saw Charlie, Billy and Jacob staring at me with worried expressions. I let out a ragged breath and started making my way out of the sea of people as best as I could in five inch heels, my body was working on its own.

I just got out the door when a hand grabbed me and pulled me behind a pillar. I was face to face with my hooded stalker; my heels allowing me a very good view of his lower face. He had a lovely jaw line.

"What do you want?" I said.

He assessed me for a minute. "Who are you?" I pressed.

"Why are you here?"

"Are you going to kill me?" I choked.

"Will you shut up for two seconds," my mouth closed instantly.

"I'm not going to kill you," he said slowly.

I snorted, "That's what they all say right before they chop their victims into tiny little pieces and hide them in the walls."

"If I wanted you dead you would be dead," he said bluntly.

"Why can't the Cullen's or the wolves sense you?" I said challengingly.

"Because they can't," he said.

"But WHY?" I asked.

"Because they can't okay, god you are annoying." He said. I frowned then pouted, "That's mean."

"Sorry to break it to you babe but I'm not exactly a church boy," he smirked.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Kane," he said lowly.

"That's a pretty name."

"I know," he smirked. "Now you're going to come with me and be a good girl." he demanded.

Go with the vampire and risk death or run and risk death again. My options were pretty limited; why not make it interesting. I sprinted.

You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!

Hands grabbed me, one covering my mouth. Kane dragged me backwards, "You make this so difficult for yourself."

Cullen! Edward, h-

Darkness clouded my vision

Quil's POV

Jacob was an asshole; I can't believe he had the balls to drag me here so he could see Bella's graduation. I refused to go inside so I waited outside in his car. I knew Mara would be in there, freaking out and probably ready to cut off Jacobs head.

The door's opened and the crowds of proud parents emerged, all congratulating their children. I immediately spotted Jacob and Billy, closely followed by Cullen. I jumped out of the Rabbit and made my way over, for safety of course.

"What do you want, Cullen?" Jacob growled venomously.

"Mr Black," Cullen turned to Billy. "I have something to discuss with you it's about Mara." He looked pained.

"What happened?" I demanded.

"Shouldn't you be telling Charlie?" Jacob bit out.

"Son, drop it. Please go on," Billy said.

"Mara's been taken," he said. "I heard her call out to me in her mind but I couldn't get out there without being seen. I couldn't find a scent either, it's the hooded vampire."

My hands started to shake, "He was here!?"

"Don't make a scene," Billy said. "What can we do?"

Edward grimaced, "We aren't used to Mara's scent. We were hoping you wolves would be able to track her."

"Right, we'll take over." I growled. I looked to Jacob, who seemed to have paled. "Jacob, let's go." Edward nodded and left to find Bella.

"I'll call Sam and get them to come find you," Billy called out behind us, digging out a phone.

We walked into the school. "Right, we just need to concentrate on her scent."

Jacob said nothing but continued to search. It had been twenty minutes and I still couldn't smell anything, not even the leech scent. Suddenly, Jacob stopped striding towards a pillar.

"Her scent is here," he said. "Can't you smell it?"

I sniffed, "I can't smell anything. Are you sure you're not mixing it up with Bella's?"

Jacob glared at me, "I think I'd know her scent, Quil."

"Really, I'd think you would love your imprint but I was wrong." Jacob froze.

"Don't start," he growled. "I'll follow her scent, you follow behind."

I rolled my eyes. It was strange, I couldn't smell her anywhere but Jacob could. Maybe it was the imprint. We walked for five minutes through the surrounding woods until the rest of the pack joined us. Most of the guys were a bit annoyed at Jake about the whole Mara thing; they all were very protective of her. Emily refused to cook for him.

"We couldn't pick up a scent on the way here," Sam said. "Could you?"

"No, but Jake could." I said, glancing at him.

He sighed, "I've got a lead. Maybe we should all shift, I'll run ahead."

The pack agreed and we all shifted.

Right, let's go. Sam said. We all followed Jacob as he ran.

So why are we doing this? Paul said

I thought Jacob had told Mara that he loved the leech lover. Jared added, knowing Jacob could hear him. An image of Mara's broken expression filled my mind and I had to restrain from ripping Jake's tail off.

I love Bella, he said, more to himself than any of us.

Don't come crying when Bella turns into one of them and you're left on your own because Mar found someone else, Embry growled.

Jacob skidded to a halt, making us all ram into each other

Get your face out of my ass, Quil. Paul growled.

Sorry, I laughed.

Jake, what the hell man? Jared said

Something's wrong, he said worriedly.
