Peeks head out slowly, then darts back as a volley of weapons fly by I'm so sorry... I said I would update, but I didn't, and now school has started up again... Good news though! I'm not as busy at my new school as I was at my old one, so hopefully updates will come at least once a month.

Thank you to Daughter of Death for reviewing a lot of the chapters.

July 25, 2023; 09:40:34; Mount Olympus - Poseidon's Palace:

"You know where my son is?!" Poseidon yelled. The coral walls vibrated with the sound, and Artemis was eternally thankful that all the palaces were soundproof.

"Of course I know where he is," the goddess snapped. "I took him there!"

At that, Poseidon froze. "You what?"

"I. Took. Him. There." Honestly, Artemis wondered, was Poseidon being a dunce today just to annoy her?

"You convinced him to run away?!"

"It didn't take much convincing," Artemis growled.

"How could you?! And you've known where he is this entire time, and you didn't tell me?!" The sea god paused, then pleaded, "At least tell me that he's safe."

"He's safe," Artemis reassured him. She would grant him that, especially as Poseidon was one of the more fatherly gods. He genuinely cared about his children's safety. Then, Poseidon's eyes narrowed. Artemis swore her blood froze. Zeus' underwear, did Percy inherit that protective glare from his father?

"Please tell me you've been checking up on him. Because if you haven't, they will never find your body."

"Of course I have," Artemis snapped. "He's only thirteen!" Did Poseidon think she didn't know how to raise a kid? After she claimed to have raised Hailey? Yes, Hailey was a girl and Dylan was a boy, but her hatred didn't run that deep.

Poseidon's eyes widened. "WHAT?! What do you mean he's only thirteen?!"

"You can't even keep track of your kids' ages?" Artemis cried in disbelief. Never mind, she took back her earlier thought!

"What are you talking about?" the sea god questioned. "Percy is in his twenties! He's way over thirteen!" At this, Artemis' jaw dropped. Now the conversation made sense. She had been talking about Dylan, but Poseidon had been talking about Percy. No wonder they had gotten all mixed up.

"Oops," Artemis giggled, then slapped a hand over her own mouth, eyes wide in horror. Poseidon eyed her in shock. Great. Percy and his family was affecting her too much.

"Did you just... Giggle?" the sea god questioned.

"Of course not!" She cried, shaking her head vehemently. "I do not giggle, Poseidon." If only it was true...

"Uh-huh..." Poseidon looked at her, then sighed and asked, "What was the 'oops' about?"

Well, at least he's leaving that alone and going back to the main subject, she thought. "We've been talking about different sons," she explained. "I was talking about Dylan, and you were talking about Percy."

The sea god stared at her, and then raised a hand to his face, dragging it down slowly as he turned away. "So you don't know?"

"Where Percy is?" Artemis hesitated for a split second, then continued, "I'm afraid not."

Poseidon nodded, a sad expression on his face that nearly broke the moon goddess. Maybe she could...? "Could you at least take me to Dylan?" Artemis opened her mouth to speak, the word sorry on the tip of her tongue, and Poseidon hurried on. "I won't take him anywhere, I won't even try to convince him to come with me. As long as he's happy, that's all that matters. I just want to see him, and maybe get to know to him."

Artemis regarded her uncle for a few seconds, nodded decisively, and then hurried to speak before he got the wrong idea. "I'll talk to him, ask if that's ok, and I'll contact you tomorrow. Goodbye, Poseidon." She was gone in a flash of light, leaving behind a sad but hopeful sea god.

July 25, 2023; 10:05:23; Lost Creek:

Percy and Nico looked up from their cards, startled, when a flash of light from outside the tent was greeted by a chorus of hellos. "I have to speak to you," Artemis said as she pushed her way into the tent, leaving the teens outside.

"About what?" Nico frowned. The goddess looked harried.

"Poseidon found out that I know where Dylan is, and thought I knew where Percy is," she explained. "I managed to deny knowing where Percy is, but now he wants to know where Dylan is. He just wants to see and talk to him. I would have told him an outright no, but the look on his face... I just couldn't."

Nico's jaw dropped. "Wha- did you inherit the puppy dog eyes from Poseidon?" he directed at his husband.

Percy shrugged, then inquired of Artemis, "You think you should take him here? Have him see Dylan and me?"

The goddess nodded slowly. "Poseidon is one of the few fatherly gods, and the loss of you two is breaking him."

Percy frowned in thought, looked at Nico who nodded, then called, "Dylan!"

July 25, 2023; 12:00:01; Mount Olympus - Poseidon's Palace:

There was a bright light, and when it was gone a teenager with long auburn hair and silver eyes stood in the foyer. "Poseidon!" she called.

A man with messy black hair, sea green eyes, and a hopeful expression on his face walked out of a side door. "Artemis? I thought you said you wouldn't be here till tomorrow?"

She shrugged. "It went faster than I expected."

"And?"

Artemis smiled softly, "That's a good thing. They've agreed to see you."

Poseidon blinked. "They?"

The moon goddess shifted slightly, a somewhat guilty expression on her face, before saying, "You know when I said that I didn't know where Percy is? I might've been lying."

Sorry to leave you all like this, but I'll hopefully get more out soon, and I wanted to publish this now. Please review!
