Normal P.O.V
As the night grew darker the Head of Knights and the Consilier were running vampire speed into the city, keeping themselves from being seen. Both of them were stealthily roaming the dark streets of New Townsville waiting to come across a Rauvian vampling to feed on a human. Of course it wasn't going to happen right away,but Tanoshi isn't patient.
"Is that one?" Tanoshi asked.
"No"
"How about that one?"
"Uh...nope"
"Damn. Oh! How about that guy?"
"Tanoshi.."
"Yeah?"
"That's a woman" Katashi said holding back laugh so the lady wouldn't look their way.
"You're kidding!" Tanoshi exclaimed,not even bothering to stay quiet.
"Dude-"
"How can that man be a lady!?" Tanoshi continued and by this point the mannish lady turned to them. Katashi's eyes widened but Tanoshi didn't even notice.
"What female has a figure like that!?" The Head Knight said waving his arms around for emphasis.
"Are you talking about me?!" The mannish woman said defensively to Tanoshi and Katashi.
"No,no my friend is just-" The Duke,who tried to take control of the situation, was cut off by the Head Knight who only made things worse.
"Yeah I am" Tanoshi said and Katashi slapped his forehead.
"And what is so wrong with my figure?" she said with a tick mark.
"You're lumpy" Tanoshi said simply and Katashi snickered at his choice of words,but quietly.
"What the fuck does that mean!?"
"You know buff...like you take steroids"
"Oh so women can't have muscles!?" the mannish lady said getting defensive.
"No its not that. Its just your chest starts looking like pecks isn't that where you call it quits?" Tanoshi asked regularly.
'This must be where Takeshi gets he speech skills from' Katashi thought keeping his chuckles back. Like Tanoshi, Takeshi would openly speak rude to complete strangers. At first Tanoshi was just shocked to learn of the person's gender,but since she yelled at him he continued talking that way on purpose. Takeshi would spend a lot of time with Tanoshi and Zoku in their younger days,which would explain why Zoku shares the more qualities with Takeshi out of all his male cousins. Despite Tanoshi, Zoku, and Takeshi talking rudely without realizing it,around those they care about they speak regularly as if its a second nature. Setsuna calls it "Tanoshi Tongue".
"Where do see pecks!?"
"Below your Adam's apple" Tanoshi said resting an elbow on Katashi's shoulder. Truth be told he could do this all night,but there's no time for that.
"Why I oughta-!"
"You don't intimidate us" Tanoshi said with a bored face. On normal circumstances Tanoshi would've walked away but there was something about the mannish lady that made him stay. And the 'thing' was how funny her reactions where. Katashi,trying to be the mature one, bit his tongue to hold back any laughter and hoped they could leave soon so he can finally laugh.
Just then the lady swung her bag and hit Tanoshi's head with it,but he dodged easily.
"Ha!"
"We can't fight mortals" Katashi whispered in his ear.
With that reminder Tanoshi let the mannish lady 'beat him up' with her surprisingly heavy purse. For a finish move she gave him a good smack across the face before stomping off like bigfoot.
"Fee-fi-fo-fum" Tanoshi said impersonating a giant and the two of them staring at each other before laughing boisterously at what just happened. This is why Richard says its best for them not to interact with mortals without him being there.
"Is this what happened when you first met Setsuna?" Katashi asked laughing.
"No Setsuna isn't mannish and after all these centuries her Adam's apple still doesn't show"
Katashi nodded while chuckling.
"Hers bobbed up and down while she yelled"
Katashi laughed loudly again remembering and then cleared his throat.
"Its time to get serious again" he said and Tanoshi nodded,couldn't be agreeing more.
"Well this area seems clear" The Head Knight said looking around.
"Yeah. We've been here for almost forty-five minutes and nothing even happened yet-"
"AAAAHHH!" A woman was heard screaming from the distance,but due to their enhanced hearing it sounded close. A short-haired girl ran past the two vampire men without even saying sorry or turning to look at them.
"That can't be good" Tanoshi said.
"Maybe it can" Katashi said nodding to his left and Tanoshi saw a man running and looking around. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it was the man that was chasing the woman. Katashi and Tanoshi hid from sight as the man came their way.
"We have to be one hundred percent sure that he's a vampling before we do anything" Katashi whispered.
"Aw dammit. My meal got away. Who am I going to eat now?"
"Sounds one hundred percent to me" Tanoshi said to Katashi.
He nodded agreeing before blinking about something. "Did he just say eat?"
"Yeah. This guy's a weirdo" Tanoshi said. "But I be bad good cop and you can be good cop."
"No time. We're doing this the old fashioned way." Katashi said.
As the two vampires revealed themselves they slowly approached the suspected vampling. The man didn't hear or sense them due to him not being fully used to his vampire physiology. Taking advantage of this fact, Katashi pulled out a burlap sack and Tanoshi pulled out a long piece of duct tape. Just as the vampling was about to turn around Tanoshi quickly advanced behind him and put the duct tape over his mouth. Katashi followed suit and put the sack over him and carried the vampling on his shoulder.
"We still got it" Tanoshi said grinning at his accomplishment.
"Alright we got the vampling now let's get home so my wife can torture him" Katashi said causally. The burlap sack started to thrash about at the word 'torture'.
"Oi!" Tanoshi yelled bonking the vampling's head. "Struggling won't help you"
With their mission complete the Duke and Head Knight ran vampire speed back to the castle. Along the way the only things that were on their minds are Fiona's position, the Rauvians, Richard's current mental state, and their children. no matter what was going on their kids were always on their mind.
"How do you think Fiona's holding up?" Katashi asked.
"With Xander most likely punishing her? She'll be fine" Tanoshi said easily.
"Is he really that brutal?"
"He can and will cause pain to any part of your body he chooses and he knows how to make sure you stay alive so you can suffer" Tanoshi answered honestly.
"Well since Fiona has her special way of dealing with pain..." Katashi said drifting off,but Tanoshi smirked knowing the rest of the unsaid sentence.
"That's our Queen for ya" Tanoshi said with some pride in his tone was they came out of the forest and the castle started to come into view.
Unknown
Normal P.O.V
Xander paused for a second to admire his work. He takes great pride in his tortures and his techniques. So far he successfully got Fiona to jerk, grit her teeth, and even give a small yelp. Truth be told he was hoping for screams, whimpers, and begging,but he knew it wouldn't be easy since this was his "Queen".
Not many people have seen Fiona fight or even witnessed her power but those who have like Nar, Richard, and Setsuna, know that its a spectacular sight. Xander never met Fiona face-to-face,but as soon as he saw her he knew Fiona had some kind of unexplained strength. Strong or not he was still the Punisher and his goal is to break Fiona. Little did he know that trying to break Fiona is like trying to break adamantine.
So far Fiona has had various knives cut her arms, strangled by the hanging rope that lies right above her head for 20 minutes, had a blade thrust into her chest and stay there, the chains bounding her have been tightened three times, and the left side her jaw was swollen. Her hair still elegant wavy hair stuck to her face due to her sweating. She had to choose carefully when to breathe because since the chains have been tightened if she was to inhale or exhale too much it would trigger a vervain-filled dart. Xander wasn't going to catch it for her a second time. Xander cut her arms yet avoided her veins at the same time so she wouldn't bleed, allowing Fiona to feel the full affect.
"So, your highness" Xander said almost mockingly.
"Yes Xander?" Fiona said in a low voice. She tried to keep a cross expression but the pain was too distracting.
"Anything you feel like you should say?"
"Actually yes"
"I'm listening"
"I picked at bad day to wear white" Fiona said looking at her white frilly top.
Pit stains were now visible and due to the knife currently in her chest it was ripped and blood is starting to stain it at that moment. The only thing Fiona was worried about was her blood being revealed to Rauvian eyes. If Xander noticed the color then the game would be over, and Fiona is enjoying it at the moment. She was lucky Xander avoided the veins when he stabbed and cut her arms,but luck alone wasn't going to get the scarlet-haired Queen through this torture.
"Are you really in a position to joke?" Xander asked raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not joking. This knife cut the fabric and its already getting dirty" Fiona said.
"That knife doesn't prickle you?"
"Of course it does" Fiona said to make sure he wouldn't come closer to readjust it. "I am a Queen. I refuse to show discomfort in front of you"
Xander had to chuckle. "You looked uncomfortable when you were strangled."
The hanging rope did the least damage to Fiona because she didn't have to breathe. All she had to do was bear the pain around her neck. While being tortured Fiona was able to find out how much Xander knew about the modern vampire physiology. It changed drastically throughout the centuries.
In Fiona's days vampires had to stay away from sun, can turn into bats easily, and had regenerative healing factors. In the modern world very few vampires can turn into bats(even Fiona herself can only turn halfway while the rest of the adults can change fully), they can be in the sun freely, but they still heal fast from psychical injuries. Fiona slowed down her own healing process on purpose for the appearance. It was part of how she played the game.
"Did I? Probably because I was thinking about real torture.." Fiona said trailing off her sentence.
"Oh? And what do you see as 'real torture'?"
"Have you ever had dinner with Richard's mother?" Fiona asked.
Richard and Setsuna's mother is a kind elder lady named Claire. Claire is a blue-haired English woman who also happens to be one the best assassins in the world,but only the Supernatural world is aware of her status. In her younger years, she served as a private assassin for Queen Elizabeth I. Now she is retired but would go on a mission or two if the Royal English Family require her services. She and Fiona share the typical daughter-in-law and mother-in-law relationship. Whenever she comes over for dinner they make snide remarks, play tug-of-war with Richard, and usually end up fist fighting before dessert.
"Having dinner with your mother-in-law is torture?" Xander asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yes and not the good kind" Fiona said scowling at the memory of Claire's last visit.
Xander was getting back tracked and Richard hasn't arrived yet. He went over to a table with had a ball on chain weapon and a branding iron. Fiona moved her eyeballs so that she can see the new torturing instruments that are about to be used on her. The branding iron made her feel uneasy. Not because of the intense burning pain it will bring but the fact that it will brand the Rauvian symbol on her flesh. Just the thought of it made her sick.
"Ladies choice" Xander said gesturing to the new tools.
"The ball on chain" Fiona said in a low voice once again. She wasn't scared at all. She's merely stalling and waiting for Richard's arrival. Little did she know he isn't coming alone.
Vampire Castle
Setsuna stayed in Richard's chamber staring at the dagger for what was nearly an hour before she got up with the sheathed heirloom and left. The master sorceress walked upstairs to the sixth floor,knowing Ririka would be there. She can sense Tanoshi, Katashi, and the vampling about a mile away from the castle. They should arrive in a few minutes. When the indigo-eyed vampira entered the room the first thing she noticed was how dim the room is and it gave an air of danger.
"Ririka you always knew how to set the suspenseful mood"
"Well I am torturing the bastard after all" Ririka said putting a whip on her hip.
Ririka is a master with whips, and has twenty-five of them all together. Her favorite is a razor sharp predator whip that she named Agonia. She taught Aoki how he can use his nature powers to make whips,such as using vines or flexible tree branches. As a result he grew a liking to whips as well and hopes he can be a whip specialist like his mother someday.
"Very true" Setsuna said having a seat. Ririka gave her a cup of herbal tea that she had prepared,which Setsuna took greatly.
"Its to calm your nerves" the Duchess said smiling.
"My nerves are always calm"
"I know" Ririka said sticking her tongue out at her "But Richard's request is a lot of weight on your shoulders,and must bring back a lot of hard memories"
"Some" Setsuna said simply as she drank the tea. Ririka put a chair in the middle of a room, directly under the light bulb. The Duchess has set it up the room to give of a torture/interrogation vibe. When it came to torturing Ririka was serious, pristine, and merciless.
"By the way,nice outfit" Setsuna said with a calm and light smile. The Vampire Duchess is wearing a knee-high dark dress which is adorned with four, vertically placed, light-colored buttons on the chest, a bronze belt on her slim waist, and brown boots. Agonia is,obviously, on her left hip waiting to be used.
"Thanks" Ririka said smiling. "I just wish Tanoshi and Katashi would hurry up and get here with the vampling.
Just then Setsuna snapped her fingers and Tanoshi and Katashi came through the doors with the burlap sack containing the vampling.
"We're back!" they said in unison before taking the vampling out and put him in the chair. Katashi put his arms behind him and the chair so he can tie his wrists together while Tanoshi tired his wrists and calves together.
"Wish granted" Setsuna said taking another sip.
Ririka blinked before saying "I get two more wishes",and Setsuna smirked.
"Do what you do best" Katashi said as he and Tanoshi sat with Setsuna. Getting serious Ririka yanked the tape of the vampling's mouth and he jumped at bit in shock rather than pain.
"What the fuck!?" the vampling yelled.
"What's your name?" Ririka asked ignoring his yelling.
"Bora" the man answered highly confused.
"Well listen." Ririka said with her eyes getting somewhat darker "You are going to answer all my questions honestly or else"
Bora scoffed "Or else what?"
Ririka was hoping he'd say that. Her pupils glowed white while her irises remained normal and she spoke in a low voice, a simple word.
"Pain.." Ririka said and as soon as those words escaped her lips Bora felt overwhelming pain and he cried out and thrashed around. At this rate he would fall to the side,which would only cause him more pain. A few seconds later Ririka's eyes stopped glowing and Bora was sweating and breathing heavily.
"There's more where that came from" Ririka said.
"Alright what do you want!?"
"Are you a Rauvian?"
"Yes"
"They're after Richard, you know that?"
"Of course I know that."
"And to capture him they took Fiona as bait correct?"
"Yeah how do you know all-"
"Just answer!"
"Yeah.."
"Where are the Rauvians right now?"
"That's classified" Bora said with a blank face. "My master told me not to saything"
"Master? You mean Damphir?"
"He's the leader but he isn't the one that turned me"
"Then who did,vampling?" Ririka said interested.
"Don't worry about it"
Ririka was getting irritated. the longer Bora kept quiet the more Rauvians gain an advantage. A swirl on Ririka's chest glowed in a yellowish light,her element has been activated.
"I will make you confess everything piece of information you have" Ririka said in a dark tone and Bora's eyes started to flash in white. He didn't see Ririka glaring at him, or Setsuna, Tanoshi, and Katashi sitting behind her keeping a close eye on him. He didn't even see the dim lit room with the light-bulb shining light down on him. There wasn't any light at all. He somehow got transported to a dark tunnel. There was a dead end behind him so he can only move forward.
As he was walking he heard a scream that make ears bleed and hairs stand straight up. The scariest part it it sounded familiar. Bora rushed in through tunnel to find the source, and after many twists and turns he found a pretty lady with a inverted triangle figure. She has short brown hair, eyes widend in fear and pain, and her whole body was on fire.
"CATHERINE!" Bora yelled and reached out for her but his hands just went through her. It was like she wasn't here,but yet she was right before his eyes. He can hear her screams. He can see the flames engulfing her body, her flesh darkening, and steam arising from the tips of the fire. He can smell the scent of burning flesh that forever haunted him. The only thing he couldn't do, the only thing he wanted to do was touch her. Soon the screaming stopped and Catherine was nothing but a pile of ash. The flames disappeared and in that mountain of ash a wedding ring was seen. Bora was trembling in fear, grabbing his hair, and yelled with his eyes closed.
"Open your eyes..." he heard Ririka's voice say. Breathing heavily, his eyes slowly opened. He was back in the room with the four adults staring at him, the light-bulb, and he was sitting tied up once more. His head was spinning, his eyes weren't glowing anymore, and he couldn't comprehend what just happened. The adults were staring at him regularly.
"Welcome back" Ririka said,even though he never left the room. Unbeknownst to Bora Ririka is an elemental vampire. Her element is illusion and what he just experienced was his phobia being exploited. When it comes to Ririka's torture she uses the three S's: Seriousness, Serpentine, and Sly. Bora's worst fear was the sight of his burning wife,which occurred a year before he had an encounter with his vampire 'master'.
"Wha...Wha?" Bora said looking around the room. He took a whiff but didn't smell burning flesh.
"I don't give warnings" Ririka said,not fully explaining to him what just happened. "So I ask again. Who is your master"
"There's this blonde named Brat. She turned me into a vampire in...the fall" Bora said thinking a little at the end.
"Who's Brat?" Ririka asked.
"She and her three older sisters are the Rauvians helpers. They were told to gather information on the modern vampire life and Royals. Then in Spring they came to Japan to put their plan in action." Bora explained.
"Rauvian helpers?" Katashi whispered. Tanoshi shrugged while refilling the teacup for his wife and Setsuna kept watching.
"Where are the Rauvians?" Ririka asked with her arms crossed.
"They are in an abandoned building. Those four sisters I told you about...they own it."
"Are the Rauvians planning an uprising?" Ririka asked.
"The Uprisers are going overthrow the Vampire Castle so after they take the Original Element from Richard they'll be in charge of the Vampire Kingdom" Bora said shakily, still recovering from the illusion. He was very careful what he revealed. If he slipped up Ririka would send him back to that horrid place,but she never uses the same illusion twice.
"That's all?"
Bora nodded.
"Ririka." Tanoshi said and the Duchess turned to look at him.
"Yes Tanoshi?"
"He isn't saying the whole story" he said.
Bora's eyes widened. 'How did he know that!?' he thought. He knew that leaving out information was risky but he already told them so much. He thought if he stuck to the main points and didn't reveal the details then he'll be in the clear,but Tanoshi saw right threw him. Ririka's pupils flashed once more and Bora prepared himself,but all the preparation in the world wouldn't make a difference.
"Misery..." Ririka said in a low voice. Bora remembered how depressed he was after his wide's passing. He couldn't even bare the thought of fire since it reminded him of the horrid image. The question "what if" constantly ran through his mind. He considered suicide a few times,but never had the guts to do it. He was in a slump for about 6 months until his therapist finally made a breakthrough. The part of his brain that controls emotion seemed to activate misery as the only emotion for him to feel. Ririka wasn't controlling his emotions, that was Setsuna's domain, she just sent mental illusions of himself at his darkest hour. the feeling of drowning in a thick pond and the weight is so unbearable he can't get up.
"That's enough" Katashi said and Ririka nodded and dropped the illusion.
"Feel like telling me everything now?"
"Alright alright. The Uprisers are in three groups. The first group is coming here, the second is going to the S.N.C building, and the third is in the forest. They are guarding where the Resurrected Twelve are".
"And where exactly are they?" Ririka asked.
"The building I told you about, in Vacant Corners, there's a secret bunker under it. It leads to a cave in the forest not too far from here." Bora said in a panicky voice. The illusions were making him go crazy.
Ririka looked at her friends and husband and they nodded in response. What he said was more than enough. They know where the Rauvians are going and they can put the uprising to an end. Bora felt guilty that he betrayed his clan and he had a strange paranoia that any minute he'll start to experience Ririka's horrible illusions once more. He was right to feel paranoid,but it was almost over. He just has to go through one more.
"Thank you" Ririka said in a non-sympathic tone.
"Can I leave now!?" Bora asked anxiously. He wanted nothing more than to leave. To stop experiencing all the horrid events.
"I'll tell you want" Ririka smirked. "If you are still breathing in the next five minutes I'll untie you"
Bora assumed Ririka was talking about the fact that he was hyperventilating and he nodded.
Ririka's elemental glowed once more and Bora was laying on a floor. He flinched with the illusion happening to him once more and all can smell was smoke. As soon as he got up his hands her tied on a wooden pole and wood was at his feet. He heard this sinister voice that said:
Go join Catherine...
Suddenly the wood at his feet was on fire and the blistering pain spread throughout the balls of his feet. The intense burning sensation then went up to his calves,singeing his leg hair. The fire grew up to his pelvis, abdomen, arms, collarbone, and neck. It didn't take long for the fire to swallow his body whole. His eyes were wide like Catherine's and the burns grew more and more severe. The pain quickly became to intense and his chest stopped rising. Ririka's last illusion was powerful enough to literally convince Bora's brain that everything that happened within the illusion was true, thus killing him in reality.
Of course in reality his was in the room with the adults, the light-bulb over his head, and still tied up. His mouth is partly open from all the screaming he did and his eyes were already closed.
"How long has it been?" The Duchess asked her husband, her tattoo fading.
"Two and a half minutes" Katashi answered smirking.
"Is he breathing?" Tanoshi asked tilting his head,unsure.
"Nope" Setsuna said placing her teacup down.
"Xander's got nothing on her!" Tanoshi said chuckling.
"Oh well" Ririka said,her serious tone being replaced her normal one.
"You serpent" Katashi said narrowing his eyes at her with a smirk.
"I'm a vampira of my word" Ririka said flipping a lock of her glossy black hair.
Since Bora was a Rauvian Ririka didn't value his life,but what she did value was his information. Once he told her everything she wanted to know there was nothing else keeping him alive in her eyes. She remembered when Richard gave her the first person to torture. When Richard heard what he wanted asked Ririka if she should kill the victim or should he do it himself. Ririka told Richard he should do it and he killed him in one punch. I guess you can see Richard's way of thinking has rubbed off on her to a certain degree. When it comes to torturing Ririka's modus operandi is:Use illusions that are personal to the victim, drive them insane, and kill them afterwards if they are evil or if Richard commands it.
"Regardless we have our information." Setsuna said getting up.
"Now we just have to make a defense plan" Katashi said standing up as well.
"I got one" Tanoshi said.
"Of course you do" Ririka smiling expecting nothing less from the Head of Knights. The four of them left the room,leaving the fresh cadaver. If they had only looked out the window they would've seen Yuichi, Raiden, Takeshi, Satoshi, and Tsuki peeking at the interrogation-torture.
Outside the Castle...
"Did you guys see that!?" Takeshi said to his siblings
"Yeah that guy is crazy" Raiden said. "He screamed for no reason"
"You idiot" Yuichi said slapping the back of his head "he was seeing Ririka-sama's illusions"
"Who's Catherine?" Takeshi asked randomly.
"Who cares!?" Yuichi said to his spiky-haired brother.
"The point is Ririka is torturous, serpentine, and downright evil!" Satoshi said and his siblings nodding twice agreeing with how Ririka handled Bora.
"Her torturing techniques are awesome though" Satoshi said grinning happily, making his brothers stare at him warily.
"It makes complete sense where Hikari gets her evilness from" the empath said and her brothers sweat-dropped at her.
"Can we stay on the topic at hand?" Yuichi asked.
"Oh right..." his siblings said.
"The Rauvians have Ka-san!" Raiden said dramatically.
"Our castle is going to be invaded!" Satoshi yelled.
"The PowerPunks are Rauvian helpers!" Takeshi yelled after.
"Otto-san is their target..." Yuichi said putting a hand on his head to ease his raging nerves.
"And they are planning to overthrow us!" Tsuki exclaimed.
"WE GOTTA TELL THE OTHERS!" the five siblings yelled to each other before zooming off into the night.
