Hope you enjoy the chapter! I'm starting to get used to writing again...ish :P

The sound of wood scraping across sand awoke Kuldr, opening his eyes he looked up at his surroundings, it had taken them over six hours to reach the edge of the lake the island was centred in. Lush green grass lay ahead of a small beach of white sand. He could make out structures in the distance and a small mountain range in the distance, snow-capped peaks with a torrid and dangerous rocky face. His eyes adjusted to the bright sunlight and he saw himself now making out the figures of Vanir, Blodhgarm and Liotha climbing out of the sides of the boat. Kuldr stretched and rose out of the boat, letting his feet sink into the soft sand. "What is our plan for now?" he called out, rubbing his eyes as he said so.

"There appears to be smoke to the north of here… perhaps we should see what it is, I feel that it may be a village" Blodhgarm replied, walking over to the grass, Blodhgarm turned his head back to the others "This feels like good farming land… when our city begins to grow we may have need of setting up villages here, either that or finding an agreement with surrounding villages in exchange for aid or other services".

"Look at you cousin, not been ten minutes since we came ashore and you're already thinking about our mission… it's true what they say about you, give you a task and you'll see it done with minimal hindrances" Liotha sighed, running over to him, Kuldr and Vanir trailing after her.

"Is anybody else in the mood to stretch our legs? If that is indeed a village, we may as well go look" Kuldr suggested

"We should exercise caution here, we don't know anybody or if they are a threat to us… still, we could go closer to get a better look!" Vanir added, suddenly setting off towards the origin of the smoke.

"That boy… one minute he chastises us for not being caution and then sets off recklessly, I suppose we should follow him" Liotha commented, as the three of them started running to catch up with him.

"I can no longer feel the Elves Eragon"

"Thank you Umaroth-elda" Eragon replied "I wish them the best of luck; I hope they encounter no dangers on their journey"

"As do I Eragon, they are strong enough to handle any that they do"

"Aye, they most definitely are… Umaroth, what is your opinion of how the school is running?"

"Eragon, if you were not doing something correctly, I would have told you! It is true that it is not perfect, nothing can be but anything that we do is difficult, such is the weohnata of nature… but you are making the most out of this situation that we are in"

"Thank you Umaroth-elda, your words are comforting, please do not hesitate to ask anything of me!" Eragon said, turning his attention away from the grand eldunari. He had no lessons to teach today and the sun was beginning to lower, a sombre light was emanating between the clouds, causing the sapphire dragon to glisten, sending speckles of light flashing across the grass, the Gaena hall itself was radiating with blue light due to implementations of a new way to work words that Arya had taught him. Eragon began walking towards the dragon tower, a sudden urge to fly befalling him; he climbed the stairs to where Saphira lay.

"What can I do for you little one?" she asked, a calmness in her voice

"Do you want to go flying Saphira?"

"Of course, I have not had reason to stretch my wings in a long time, it helps that I could go hunting… where do you want to go little one"

"I have not yet seen the other side of the mountains?" Eragon suggested

"Then that is where our destination is" Saphira replied, lowering her wing to allow Eragon to clamber onto her, dragging the riding saddle that lay in the corner of her cave with him. Making quick work of the straps he settled into his rightful place and Saphira took flight, the sun catching her in a very similar way to her counterpart above Gaena Hall. They began to rise quickly, almost immediately they were above Doru Anora and rose to the height of the Eldrvarya Mountains in mere seconds; she turned to head towards the mountains, reaching the peak of the tallest in minutes.

"Saphira, have you been to this side of the mountains before?" Eragon asked

"I have little one"

"And you never thought to mention how different it was?" Eragon asked, a hint of frustration in his voice, soon melting away as he began to fully realise the beauty of what he witnessed. Where one side of the mountain was a green, lush forest, teeming with wildlife and full of rivers and small lakes, the side that lay before him was clear, hills rolling in front of him, stretching for miles until they reached a steep drop into the lake that encompassed the island. Flowers of unique and wonderful colours lay in his stead, many that he had never seen in his life! Blues clashed with pinks and oranges, he could see flowers that changed colour as they neared the ground and flowers that had no colour, letting him see straight through them!

'When we arrived, Saphira explored the entire island! She told me that there was nothing special… I suppose there are many, many differences in our personalities then' Eragon thought to himself

"It never seemed too special to me little one" Saphira replied.

As soon as Saphira touched ground he leapt off of her back, letting himself fall into flowers smoother than velvet, a smile began to grow on his face, he'd never felt happier than he did at this moment, he felt as if he were in a painting.

Eragon bolted upright, his mind closing quickly as a presence began pushing towards him, slowly he began to recognise the mind and opened his "What is it Thorn?" he asked

"Murtagh and I would like to speak to you about something, it is not urgent but when you have spare time we would like to discuss with you" came the response from the red dragon

"Very well, whatever your concern is I'd be happy to talk to you about it! We could talk tomorrow if that is acceptable?"

"Yes, that would be ideal, thank you Eragon" Thorn ended, removing his presence from Eragon's mind

Eragon returned to his peace and quiet amongst the flowers 'I wonder what that could be about'.
