Much to L's surprise.. Beyond's idea had actually worked.

The plan was both well thought out and even a little genius, one that L himself might have come up with. Light and Misa were to be brought in the back of a car driven by Soichiro to where they thought they would be executed, but would pull off to the side of the road instead. After realizing that Soichiro was intending to kill both Light and himself, either Light or Misa would have the chance to kill him in order to save their own lives, if they were Kira. If Soichiro ended up dying before pulling the trigger, the task force would immediately take action and arrest the both of them for being Kira and the second Kira. If not, L would end their confinement. That was what he agreed to. That was the plan.

It ended up working out the way everyone believed it would, all three of them in the car remaining alive. As L and Beyond continued to watch from a camera placed inside the car, they couldn't deny how genuine their reactions were. Almost as if they couldn't be Kira, and fell for their little act completely. And to think, L had doubted his plan after first hearing of it. The younger raven smirked and nudged his knee, as if to silently say, 'I told you so'.

L sighed. "As we discussed, I will end their confinement immediately.. We will be keeping Misa Amane under surveillance until Kira is apprehended. Although she insists the tapes we found were just occult videos, the videos we have plus a confession suggest otherwise." "Hey! No fair! You still suspect me?" Misa argued. "If I were you, I wouldn't complain. You get to go back to your normal life. If you're innocent, the surveillance shouldn't be a threat to you. Think of it as.. Complimentary police protection." Beyond spoke up, shrugging his shoulders and removing his hand from L's knee to continue eating from the jar of jam on the table.

"As for your part in this agreement, Light.. You and I will be together 24/7. And that's how we'll remain until we've brought Kira to justice." L decided, though his voice wasn't all that confident. He glanced over at Beyond briefly, biting his thumb nail. He knew for the time being Beyond had no idea what he was talking about, figuring they would just be in the same room every day until going to sleep, but he knew the younger male would not like this at all after finding out.

"Fine by me. We'll catch Kira.. Together." Light smiled.

"You cannot be serious.." Beyond's eyes widened as the metal handcuffs were held up, revealing the two males whose wrists they were now attached to: Light and L. The task force was hardly surprised to see how upset Misa was by this, but Ichigo? Why? "Are you sure this is necessary, Ryuzaki?" Light questioned. "This is as difficult for me as it is for you." L stated calmly.

"So this is what you meant by being together twenty four hours a day with him? Looking at you I never would've guessed. Are you on that side of the fence, Ryuzaki?" Beyond had to snicker at Misa's joke, despite the mood he was currently in. But then, remembering the joke would imply L had feelings for Light, a frown returned to his face. L was his! He didn't want to share him any more than Misa wanted to share Light!

"I told you, I'm not doing this because I want to." L sighed. "But Light belongs to me. I don't want to share him with you! If you're with him 24/7, then how are we supposed to go on dates together?" Misa asked. "Oddly enough, I agree with her for once. I don't think this is a good idea. At all." Beyond glared at the detective. He didn't care how obvious he was being now. Who knew how long L and Light would be chained together?! Beyond couldn't even go a few hours without sneaking some form of physical contact with L.

L completely disregarded Beyond, knowing he'd have to talk to him later while Light was busy or asleep. "Oh, you can still go on dates, but it'll have to be the three of us." L answered simply. "No way! Are you telling me we have to kiss in front of you and stuff?" Misa frowned. "I'm not telling you to do anything, but yes, I suppose I would be watching."

"That's so gross! You really are a pervert, aren't you?" Misa accused. "Light, please make Misa stop talking now." L sighed. "Listen, Misa, that's enough. The police have already established that it was you who sent those tapes, so you're lucky to even be here right now. They have every right to imprison you." Said Light.

"Huh? How could you even say that, Light? In case you forgot, I'm your girlfriend! Don't you trust your own soul mate?" Misa cried. Light's eyes widened a bit, leaning back further away from her. "Uh, what do you mean, soul mate? You're the one who said you fell in love with me at first sight, Misa." Light pointed out. "Huh? S-So why would you kiss me if you didn't have feelings for me? You'd take advantage of me?" She gasped, barely hitting Light in the chest repeatedly. "Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid-" Beyond grunted and rolled his eyes, sitting back on the armrest of the couch with his arms folded across his chest, while still mumbling about how 'Fucking ridiculous' this was.

"About this 'love at first sight'... It happened in Aoyama on May 22nd, didn't it?" L questioned. "So what?" Misa frowned. "Why did you chose that date did you go to Aoyama? And do you remember what you wore?" "It's like I told you! I just happened to go there. I don't know why, I don't remember how I felt, and I don't even know what I was wearing. Anyway, since when do I need a reason to hang out in Aoyama, huh?" Her eyes narrowed, stepping closer to L and forgetting all about Light.

"And somehow, when you came back from Aoyama, you knew that you were in love with some guy, and that is name was Light." L smiled slightly. "Yes." Misa confirmed. "And yet, you yourself have no idea how you came to know his name." L continued. "Yeah, so what?" Misa was obviously upset, but also a little too close for Beyond's liking. Not that he was paying attention, still ranting in his head about what he couldn't do with Light around. "And, if Light was Kira, how would it make you feel?" L asked. "Huh..? That'd be wonderful.." Misa smiled, stepping back and hugging Light's arm. "I mean, I've always been grateful to Kira for punishing the man who murdered my parents. So if I found out that Light was actually Kira, that would be like a bonus for me! If anything, it would make me love him even more!"

"It's Kira, though. You'd love him even more for that? Wouldn't you be afraid? What if he tried to kill you?" L's eyes narrowed. "But he wouldn't be scary at all! I'm a supporter of Kira, so if I found out my Light was actually him, I'd think of how I could be helpful." She smiled. "Hm.. Well, Misa, based on what you just told me, there could be no mistake that you are the second Kira. Though you've made it so painfully obvious, I don't really want to believe it."

"Anyway, for the time being, you'll remain under surveillance. When you do go out, you'll be able to contact us using this room's extention. For the most part, your life will return to normal. But from now on, for all private and work related affairs, Mr. Matsuda will be occumpanying you as your new manager. Matsui. Your agency has been paid to keep quiet, and the police don't know. Don't blow his cover." L explained. "Aw, this old guy's my new manager?" Misa pouted. "Aw, c'mon, what's wrong with me Misa Misa? Is it the tie, cause I can-"

After Aizawa's outburst about how the Kira investigation wasn't being taken seriously enough, Beyond decided he'd had enough tonight as well. He hopped up from his seat and shook his head, stuffing both hands in his pockets as he walked right out the door without being shoved, unlike Misa. L watched the other leave with a saddened expression, wishing he could follow Beyond out. The young detective knew that Light wasn't exactly fond of the handcuffs idea, but he also knew he himself hated the idea more. It'd be extremely risky to have conversations with or even kiss Beyond while Light was asleep or in the bathroom. But they'd have to grow accustomed to it, wouldn't they? Unless.. Light found out about them..

No, that couldn't happen.

Both L and Beyond were anything but comfortable with that.
