Chapter 25
Holly's P.O.V
I woke up to the sunlight streaming in through the window, I roll over to be greeted by hands on my face and a loud squeal. Smiling, I reach out for the source and roll her over with me until we were wrapped up in the furs of my bed. "Good morning my little witch." I whisper once we have made a little air pocket under the furs, she giggles.
"Mama." I kiss her forehead and she squeals again loudly, clapping her small hands. We hear footsteps making there way to my side of the bed and I gasp looking at Sophie. "Huh, what could that be? Is it the giant from your story?" She looks scared as the footsteps stop and a laugh is let out. I put my finger to my lips and she does the same, I try to contain my smile as she copies my action.
"Fee fi Fo Fum I smell the blood of an Englishman" The gruff voice sang, the little girl in my arms begins to giggle as she recognises the voice. All of a sudden the furs are pulled away from us and we are greeted by the cheeky face of Kol. "How are my two favourite girls this fine morn?" He asks doing what we call his 'lord' voice.
"Why we are swell Lord Mikaelson, how might you be?" I ask equally as posh, he sets down the tray and a parcel on the bedside table and joins us in bed.
"Why I am fine, My Lady." He kisses my cheek. "And might I say Happy Birthday My Love!" He leans down to capture my lips, Sophie smacks his face. "Cant Papa have Mama for just one kiss?" He asks and laughs at the look she gives him, her adorable pout. "Well You'll have to ask Mama if she's ok with only having Sophie time since it is her Birthday. You can Mama all to yourself during yours, its only a week until yours." She only frowns at him. He turns and passes me the parcel. "I found this outside, why don't you open it and find out what and who sent it." I nod and tear open the gift, inside lay the most beautiful dress. It was a dark forest green with a small amount of detail at the top, the embroidery wasn't from around here so it was ordered and imported from over the sea. It was clearly expensive. I throw the parchment paper onto the floor, stand up and pull the dress with me, I hold it up against my body.
"What do you think?" I ask Kol.
"Its beautiful, who sent such an extravagant gift?" He asks and I shrug.
"Was there a note?" I carefully fold the dress and lay it in the chest at the bottom of the bed. I then turn and kneel on the floor as I rummage around the parchment, I stand up and sit on the corner of the bed when I find what I'm looking for.
Happy Birthday My daughter, Its hard to believe 18 years ago today I was birthing you. You were worth every second of that time. I hope today brings you the joy I cant and I hope you're smiling right now, that smile will compliment the dress even more my sweet. I love you. - Your Mother
Tears sting my eyes as I read the note with a smile on my face. Kol notices this and sits on the behind me on the bed and hold me as he reads the note. "She clearly cares about you Love, she must have spent over 10 gold coins on this and she risked your father finding out." He kisses behind my ear. "She is right that smile fo yours would kill a man in that dress. But you know what?" I look at him. "I would much rather see you taking that dress off." I chuckle at him.
"You are right, thank you." I take a deep breath and turn around, get back into bed with Kol and smile at Sophie. "Well, why don't we start on our beautifully served breakfast?" Kol smiles at me, "Thank you by the way, it looks delicious." I kiss his cheek and move over so he can sit comfortably, I place Sophie on my lap as Kol places the food on his. "Has she been fed?" I ask him and he nods. I reach across and eat some of the fruits on his lap, and he occasionally feeds Sophie a bit of soft banana. She seemed to enjoy it as at the end of the meal she had banana all around her mouth and all over her little fingers. Kol leaves and brings me in a damp cloth to clean Sophie off with, once she is banana free Kol stands up. and kisses my forehead.
"How about we go and drop her off to Rebekah and spend the whole day together?" He asks, I nod. He makes his way over to the door picking up the small girl from my lap along with the empty tray. "I will see you in a short while then Love." I smile as he leaves our home.
I get up out of the bed and gaze out of the window, it cant be later than 11 o'clock because of the way the sun is sitting over the village. I sit back onto the bed and think about what my family was doing. This was my first birthday without them and I hated it, I was sat all alone and I wanted nothing more than to argue with Aria about the present our parents got me. I wanted Cate and Robb to be the little loud balls of fun in the room and I want my Father to secretly be upset about the fact I was another year older. And most of all I missed my Mother trying to make the day the best ever, she would always make sure we were enjoying it and at the end of the day she would bring out the cake she had been working on all day and it would be perfect. Its not that I don't appreciate Kol's effort it just that I miss my family, and I certainty don't regret giving up my family for him. I get dressed and make my through to the living room and sit on one of the chair waiting for Kol to return, I lean back and smile wondering what he has planned for us. As the day goes on I notice Kol still hasn't returned so I make my way through to the kitchen area to make myself something to eat. As I walk past the table placed neatly in the middle of the room I notice a small piece of parchment,
Meet me at the lake when you finally notice this -Kol.
I smile, he knows me too well; He knew I would get bored and come looking for something. I move over towards the mirror, run a brush through my hair and leave the house. I make my way down the small winding path besides my house, avoiding the village, careful not to see anyone. I just wanted to see Kol right now, everyone else could wait until later. I wouldn't put it past Sage to have feast tonight. Its a little bit past midday, almost twilight. I make my way down the winding path besides our hut and follow it down to the lake. The lake where it all began. I met Kol here when I was 14 and the great sin that everyone says we committed here, we both knew it was wrong but we also both knew we had a couple of years before either of us were to be married and how else were we supposed to pleasure our other halves without practice? If you ask me I think the whole sex before marriage thing has always been too stigmatised, you should do it when you are ready, not when your union is blessed by God. Although my family encouraged religion, we were also taught to be comfortable with the things we did. Personally I wasn't big on religion, as a witch I knew there was nothing after death, only the other side and from what my mother always told me, it one place you don't want to be. I smile as I find myself looking over the great lake, the gentle waterfall trickled down the side of the greying rock, the sound made the lake peaceful and the light breeze of the wind caressed the trees making them rustle lightly. I look around confused slightly, Kol was nowhere to be seen. I frown. The next gush of wind brings fire, lighting the candles behind the waterfall. Smiling I follow the line of candles and delicately make my way behind the waterfall- careful not to get wet. The cave behind the waterfall is lit up in a warm light but that wasn't what caught my attention. My attention was turned to the man who sat in the middle of the cave on a blanket with a basket sat beside him. He stares at me waiting for my reaction, he stands up, his eyes never leaving mine. I make my way towards him and wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist, I kiss his lips and lean back softly to stare at his face.
"Happy Birthday Love!" He whisper softly to me. He kisses me again slowly, but pulls away before it can go any further. I whine at the loss of his lips. "I did well I take it?" He asks, typical always wanting things to be perfect and I love him for it. I chuckle and nod. "Good because it took an awful lot of planning, but it was worth it to see you speechless. It hardly ever happens so I have to grasp the moments when they happen."
"Thank you, I love it." I tell him. I pull him closer and hug him, burying my face in his neck and kissing it softly. "I couldn't have asked for anything better." I whisper into his ear.
"You were worth it and I couldn't think of a better way to spend your birthday than setting this up." He tells me, I smile in appreciation.
"I see you learnt how to light candles, I'm impressed." I say lightly.
"It was difficult but if you have strong intentions it works." He whispers, "You were my strongest intention so I made it work Love."
"How are your lesson from Esther, clearly they are working but are they ok?" I ask.
"They are fine my Love you don't have to worry about me, it all about making sure I'm in control around you and Sophie. Making sure I don't set fire to anything else or while you are both asleep, its important because I have to make sure I don't kill you." He looks down at the ground. "How do you do it so easily? Why do I find it so hard?" He asks me. "I'm sorry I'm ruining things, this is supposed to be about you." I take his face in my hands and make him look at me.
"I find it easy because I learnt when I was younger, I was brought up to control it. Its not your fault and it will get easier, I promise you. And as for ruing my night you made it better, you are finally opening up after months of been closed off." I kiss him, "I love you Kol Mikaelson."
"I love you too Holly Mikaelson." He pulls me closer, "Forever and Always?" He whispers into my hair and I smile against him.
"Forever and always." I confirm, he pulls away and looks down at me. "Now lets celebrate you turning 18." He pulls me tot he ground and leans against the wall positioning me in between his legs so my back is against his chest.
"Before we really celebrate you need to get your strength up, you have a long night ahead of you tonight my Love." He pulls the basket closer to us and inside I see muffins, bread, meat, rabbit I think, and some more exotic food that you would find across the narrow sea.
"And how exactly you do plan on keeping me entertained all night Lord Mikaelson?" I ask seductively whilst stroking his upper thigh.
"Well, Love, I plan on taking you." He takes a deep breath and I close my eyes in pleasure as he releases it down the back of my neck. "To the feast Sage has planned." My eyes shoot open, that was not what I was expecting him to say. He kisses my neck, "Is that ok Love? we spend the rest of the night with our family? Me and Sage managed to convince your family to attend, Toby and Aria will be there and so will your parents and I know a little boy and girl who cant wait to give you their gift."
"Really? You really managed to convince my father? Kol this is the best thing anyone has ever done for me, thank you." I turn in his lap and grip the back of his neck, kissing his lips roughly. I feel something hard press into my centre and I grind against it.
" I can think of one way to really get my thanks across to you." I reach down and untie his breeches, my dress munches at my hips and pleasure begins to fill all of my senses. And moan bounce off of the wall as I really thank him.

A little more than an hour later Kol and I leave the cave content. There is a chill in the air, so Kol throws the blanket over my shoulders and grabs my hand whilst swinging the basket in the other. I chuckle. "You don't understand how cliché this would look, its in half of the songs girls are told. The secret lovers making love and protecting one another from the dangers of the night. You would think those songs are the reasons of our discretion but it seems the women in those songs are seen as strong and powerful. What a shock they would get if they were in our world." He swings his arm around my neck and kisses the side of my head.
"I think the couple who followed those songs are strong and wonderful, I think they gained something so precious from this apparent shame that neither of them cared because she was beautiful and special and her parents love her so much that they don't care that they are seen as a disgrace because she was worth it." He smiles down at me as we make our way through the forest, back to our home. "I don't think they care either and I certainly think we were the lucky ones." I say as I snuggle closer to him.
"Come Love, lets go home, you can put on your new dress and open the gift I got you and then we can go over to your parent home and celebrate." Kol then drags me back to the hut and pushes me inside. "Go and get changed before I tell Sage you have come down with the flu and need my full attention." I smile lightly and enter our room. I pull my new dress out of the chest at the bottom of our bed, and quickly change into it. I walk back out and twirl for Kol. "Don't you look stunning? What makes you even more desirable is knowing that no other man can touch you, only me. Here." he pulls a box out from behind him, its small and compact, he places it into my hand. "18 is a special year my Love, you deserve this." I open the lid and stare in awe. Inside the box was a small silver bracelet, on the bracelet was a couple of charms. There was a tiny silver rattle, a pair of entwined rings and oak ash tree. "It symbolizes the things that are special to us, a baby" He points at the rattle, "Our home." He points at the oak ash tree. "And our marriage." He points at the rings. He pulls me to him and dances with me.
"Thank you, its beautiful." I kiss him softly but full of love.
"Beautiful gift for my beautiful bride." He smiles, "Now come, we must leave." He pulls me into Sages hut next.
"Happy Birthday's" are shouted about as I enter. I'm showered with gifts but the best gift of all was Kol's, my family stood in the far corner with Sophie sat in my fathers arms. He sees me and passes Sophie to my Mother and opens his arms, Kol pushes me forwards and I leap into them. But not before Mikael pushes past me muttering a string of abuse with Esther following close behind, I see Kol give them a dirty look and the rest of his siblings give me a sympathetic look. I ignore it all and fall into my Fathers arms.
"Happy Birthday my child." He kisses my head, "Sage was right," I look over at her and mouth 'thank you' He continues. "I shouldn't punish you for being happy you deserve it." I burst into tears and he wipes them away. "You cant cry on your birthday. Hush now." He holds me arms length. "You were right about your daughter by the way, she is too precious for me to ignore, your Mother never stopped talking about her and I can see why." I look over at her. "You look amazing, I knew you would." My mother says and she strokes my cheek.
"Happy Birthday" Aria and Toby both say as they embrace me.
"Holly." I hear two children squeal, I reach down and grab them both. They laugh in delight. "Happy Birthday!" They shout in sync, I smile. "Here is your present." Robb shouts and pulls put a little pouch, its for your bracelet.
"What bracelet?" I act dumb for a moment and see his eyes open wide, "Oh this bracelet." He seems to calm down and gives me the charm, a small mirror.
"Mama says its because you are beautiful." Cate says, I smile.
"Thank you, all of you." I say.
"Go and celebrate we can catch up another time my child." My Father says. And that's how we spent the rest of the night, dancing and celebrating the best birthday I ever had.
