Chapter 25

Jason POV

Jason sat quietly at his new cell, well more like room, he didn't know why but Luke decided to give him a room instead a cell blocked. Jason stared at the Ham sandwiches that sat in the small table, there's two of them and a can of diet coke right next to it. His brain told him not to touch the food, but his instinct told him to eat it since he didn't eat anything yesterday. Jason sighed and let his instinct won, he walked to the small table, pulled a chair and sat on it; he reached out his hand and took a sandwich. He took a big first bite and chewed it slowly, it's delicious than he thought, he smiled a bit and continued to chew it slowly. Then when he wanted to take second bite the door opened and Rex came in, it hard to miss him, with his silver-white hair and that bloody red eyes, also his super pale skin. Rex's head inclined to the side as if he invited someone to come in. Jason almost dropped his sandwiches when he saw Pearl came in, she wore light blue T-shirt, black jeans, dark blue sneakers and a navy blue jacket, what's with Pearl and blue? Jason thought when he saw Pearl clothes. Pearl held a plate on her right hand and a glass of chocolate milk on her left hand, and she put her scowling expression towards Rex, Rex laughed hard and he patted Pearl head before headed outside. Pearl just stood there and grumbling towards herself. Jason smiled at this sight, and he put his sandwich, he stood up and walked towards Pearl.

"Hey morning coral head" he said.

Pearl jumped from her positioned and almost spilled her chocolate milk, she spun around and glared at Jason.

"Geez sparky, way to greet someone" she grumbled and still glared at him.

Jason saw some cheese sandwich on the plate that she held "You want to eat while stand up like that? Or you want to join me?"

Pearl expression soften a bit "Good idea"

She followed Jason towards the small table and Jason created some room for Pearl breakfast. Pearl put her breakfast and she sat right in front of Jason.

"So, how's your night?" Jason asked and he stared at Pearl neck, he could swore he saw a bite mark, it a faint one but Jason noticed it right away.

Pearl hand moved quickly to her neck and she covered it, but she's blushing till her ear. Jason sighed and he played with his sandwich.

"Fun night?" he asked without looked at Pearl.

Pearl blushed even deeper "Well, um…I…um…kinda?" it more like a question than an answer.

"You don't have to hide it from me Pearl" Jason said bitterly "I know"

Pearl hand moved down and she bit her lower lips "How about you?" she asked carefully, not wanting to hurt Jason feeling anymore.

Jason opened his diet coke and drank from it a little "Quiet" he answered "I didn't expect to be that quiet, since we stayed at the monster base"

Pearl looked at her own sandwich "Looks like we got the penthouse huh?"

Jason grip tightened a bit on his coke can "Yeah, Luke help us"

Pearl didn't say anything after that, Luke subject is pretty touchy subject for Jason, it almost like Jason didn't like it when Pearl brought Luke's name in their conversation.

"Uh, Jason" Pearl called carefully "Why are you here?"

"What do you mean?" Jason asked.

"I mean, when you are in the arena you already there fighting" Pearl explained "You must be here before Kelly brought me in"

Jason shoulder tensed "Uh, I got captured before you"

Pearl stared at Jason and Jason could feel that Pearl studied him. Jason couldn't let Pearl know about his deal with Luke, she will be really mad at him and Luke if she knew. Jason could hear Pearl sighed and she looked elsewhere. Jason let out a small sighed of relief, he looked up and found Pearl looked at the door with frustrated looks.

"What's wrong?" Jason decided to ask.

"I got this feeling. I don't know but something not right in here. The atmosphere is so tense but yet the monster they so calm and confident, like they are excepting something big" Pearl answered with unease.

"Saturn" Jason said suddenly.

"Saturn?" Pearl cocked her head "Oh, you mean Kronos"

Jason cursed under his breath in Latin, he's forgot that Pearl is Greek not Roman "Yeah, I mean him. Maybe there's something about him"

Pearl let out a small laugh "He's still in pieces right?"

Jason avoided Pearl hopeful eyes, he didn't want to answer that question; only thought about it sent the biggest chill down on his spine. Jason shook his head quickly and turned to face Pearl, her expression changed completely, from hopeful to horror.

"No" she said and her hand shook violently "No way"

Jason put his hand on Pearl hand, tried to calm the girl down. Pearl still shaking and now she shook her head again.

"I hate him" Pearl said quickly and her hand automatically rubbed her neck "He tortured me once, till now is still gave me the chill, even sometimes I have nightmare about it"

Jason quickly stood up, he walked up to Pearl and hugged her. Jason stored her back gently, Pearl still shaking but not like before. Eventually Pearl calmed down a little, Jason pulled himself and looked at Pearl sea blue eyes.

"Its okay" he said tried to be confident "I'll protect you"

Pearl nodded and she forced a smile on her lips "Thank you"

Jason patted Pearl head "Don't worry okay"

Pearl took a deep breath and she exhaled slowly, eventually her body stopped trembling and she became calmer. Jason pulled his chair and he sat in near Pearl, he took Pearl right hand and squeezed it gently. Even though Jason wanted to do more, Jason wanted Pearl rested her head on his shoulder, he wanted Pearl on her arm, but he knew, for now it's impossible since Pearl heart is for Luke only. Jason admitted Pearl is very loyal towards Luke, no matter what happened she never leaved Luke or betrayed him, Jason wondered will be the same thing happened if Pearl was his girlfriend. Right now Jason had to be satisfied with his friendship with Pearl.

"I guess I never had the chance huh?" Jason muttered to himself and he looked at Pearl with corner of his eyes.

Pearl POV

Pearl enjoyed Jason companion, being with Jason always calm her heart down. Pearl knew sometimes her action only torment Jason further, especially when Luke is involved. Pearl admitted Jason is handsome, strong, funny, kind and loyal, but her heart is already for Luke. Maybe if they met under different circumstances, Pearl will fall for Jason. Right now Jason held her hand and that action alone already swept all her fears away from her mind. Pearl looked at Jason carefully, when first time they met Jason height almost the same as her, now he's taller than her, Pearl height only reached his shoulder now.

"You taller now" Pearl said.

Jason laughed at Pearl word "Really? I didn't notice that"

Pearl giggled "My height around your shoulder now"

Jason let go of Pearl hand and he stood up "Come on I want to see"

Pearl rolled her eyes and she stood up, and true enough Pearl height barely reached Jason shoulder.

"See?" Pearl crossed her arms.

Suddenly Jason hugged her "Yeah, it's more easy to hug you now" Jason laughed and she ruffled Pearl hair.

Pearl hit Jason chest "Quit it sparky!" and she laughed too.

"I wished I could hold you like this forever" Jason muttered to himself.

Pearl blushed when she heard that, she didn't know why Jason said that, was it intentional or unintentional? Pearl thought.

"Forget what I said" Jason said quickly.

Pearl looked up and found Jason face already turned bright red and he avoiding Pearl eyes. Pearl could felt Jason heartbeat increased, Pearl mentally cursed Aphrodite for all of this.

'If only she doesn't intervened with my, Luke and Jason loved life' Pear thought 'none of this would happened'

Suddenly the door burst opened and Rex stood there, he looks paler than usual. His eyes looked uneasy and nervous, and he's sweating bullets. Pearl and Jason quickly pulled themselves and cleared their throat awkwardly. But, Pearl sensed something was off, Rex never looked afraid or nervous before and now Rex is clearly looked afraid and nervous, something big must be happened that causes Rex afraid like this. Rex's eyes darted quickly from Jason and Pearl, he breathed heavily and looked straight at Jason.

"Come with me both of you" he said quickly and turned around.

Jason and Pearl looked at each other and they followed Rex, suddenly Rex stopped and turned around to face them. Pearl now could see Rex face clearly, he looked stressed and depressed, his eyes looked tired and a bit dull, and there's bag under his eyes, his short hair is a mess.

"Whatever happened after this" he began to speak "Just believe in Luke okay, and…." Rex's eyes trailed to Jason "It's up to us to keep her alive during all of this"

Pearl turned to Jason and saw his face paled, his hand trembling. Jason nodded slowly and he gulped.

"Did you guys make some kind of deal behind my back?" Peal accused both boys.

Rex and Jason flinched when they heard that, they exchanged quick looks and nodded at the same time. Pearl growled at this, she hated when someone made a deal about her wellbeing behind her back. Rex shot a glare towards Jason, to keep his mouth shut. Pearl huffed and she crossed her arms, she glared at Rex and Jason, demanding whatever they kept from her.

"Sorry sweetie" Rex grinned at her "Your glare didn't work on me"

"Don't call me that" Pearl growled.

Rex laughed "Sorry, but it's for your own good" and he continued to walk.

Pearl howled in frustration and she glared at Jason, who clearly avoid her eyes. Jason clear his throat and he followed Rex. Pearl huffed and she walked behind Jason, silently cursed both boys in front of her. Then they arrived at a big room, in front of them there's a golden coffin and even though there's a heart of fire in the middle room, the room temperature was so cold. Pearl eyes went wide when she saw the coffin.

"Kronos" she said.

Jason quickly turned to Pearl "What?"

Pearl stopped on her track, she fell on her knee and covered her mouth. Kronos is her biggest fear, when she still twelve years old Kronos kidnapped her and tortured her near Tartarus. And now Pearl could fell power emanating from the coffin, she couldn't stop the trembling and she wanted to run away as far as her leg could take her from this place. Then she could feel someone hand took her hand, Pearl looked up and she saw Jason stood in front of her, he pulled Pearl up and hugged her. Jason didn't said anything, he just stroke Pearl back and said 'its okay, I'm here' again and again, it's like a chanting and it's succeed in calm Pearl a bit. Pearl hand moved slowly and she hug Jason back and tightly.

"I'm afraid" Pearl admitted.

Jason let out a small laughed "Me too Pearl, after all Kronos in front of us, well still in pieces, but what happened to you in natural" Jason stroked Pearl back "It's okay to be afraid"

Pearl buried her face on Jason chest "I hate him"

Then another hand held Pearl shoulder, Pearl turned and saw Rex stood there. He opened his mouth and closed it again, Rex took a deep breath and he tried to look serious.

"Sorry guys, but I had to tied you up" Rex said slowly "Order"

After that Rex tied Jason and Pearl together in a near pillar, after he finished Rex looked guilty and he shook his head quickly.

"Don't worry, I won't let happened anything happen to you guys" Rex said quietly.

After that he stood up and walked to the coffin, he just stood there and he sighed heavily.

"They are here, like you asked" he said.

And then he leaned towards the coffin and said something Pearl couldn't hear. After that Rex walked out from the room leaved Jason and Pearl alone.

"Well, this is awkward" Jason spoke "We together, tied up in an empty room with a creepy coffin which happened to contain the leader of the Titan. Just my regular day"

Pearl forced a smiled when she heard that "I wonder what happened next"

"Well, let just hope the coffin didn't open suddenly and a creepy mummy or zombie come out." Jason said.

"Let just hope when Kronos wake up he lost his limb or eyes" Pearl said "Well, I hope his brain still in Tartarus"

"And he yelled 'Brains!'" Jason added.

"Are you just compare him to Zombie vs Plant game?" Pearl asked.

"And then we just need all the Ceres kid to beat him" Jason said.

"Demeter kid loved to play that game" Pearl said "Usually when they wins, they yelled, 'Plant rules!'"

Jason laughed "Really?"

Pearl rolled her eyes "You should see it for yourself"

Jason laughed again and he shook his head "I wish I can, but…." He stopped and let out a sigh "I can't"

Pearl just looked at her feet, she knew why, Jason is a Roman demigod, there for he cannot enter her camp. Suddenly a couple of Telekhines came in and brought something like a scythe, they put it near the coffin. Pearl tensed when she saw the blade, in made from Luke sword, normal iron and celestial bronze. After the telekhines put the scythe, they leaved the room while gave Pearl and Jason nasty looks. And then the coffin opened, Pearl froze when she saw that.

"Err, Jason" Pearl said "Did the coffin just opened, or it just my imagination?"

"Pearl please, don't creep me out further" Jason protested "Of course it won't opened, Kronos still in pieces right?"

"It just opened by itself" Pearl said quickly "I swore it just open"

The door opened again and the telekhines entered again and with a boy with eye patch, the telekhines shoved the boy and made him kneeled in front of the coffin, but they stopped when saw the coffin opened.

"It's opened" one of them said "He wanted to raise"

"Just closed it again" the other said.

One of them closed the coffin again, and they turned to the boy. Then Pearl felt a breeze right next to her, Pearl gulped and nudged Jason quickly. But Jason just froze there and looked at the coffin, did he saw something? Pearl thought. And then the boy said something and suddenly a figure appeared near Pearl, Pearl yelled in surprise when she saw Percy there, his left hand clutched Annabeth invisible cap.

"Percy?" Pearl looked at Percy with questioning looks "How did you get here?"

"Ethan, stopped it please" Percy begged, ignoring Pearl question "Don't do that"

The boy, Ethan shook his head "Sorry, but this is the only way"

Then Ethan continued to swear that he will serve Kronos and then a bright light came from the coffin. The coffin opened and a figure that Pearl knew well rose from the coffin. Pearl blood stopped when she saw it, it can't be she said mentally. She saw Luke stood up from the coffin and walked over it easily, and when he opened his eyes, it's not icy blue eyes but gold.

"Master" the telekhines bowed down, including Ethan.

Kronos ignored them and looked straight to Pearl who looked at him with horror and disbelieved. Even Jason put the same expression.

"What do you think Pearls?" Kronos spoke.

Pearl eyes started to wet and she shook her head "No, no. It's must be a dream, I don't believe it"

Kronos laughed hard and sent a chill down to her spine "What? I'm still Luke you know. Well, more like his body"

"NO!" Pearl screamed "Stop it!"

Percy growled and he charged at Kronos, but the time itself slowed down. Kronos used his power and smirked when he saw Percy movement became slow, he walked casually and tossed Percy a crossed the room easily, Kronos kept walked towards Pearl. When he already near Pearl he stopped and the time became normal again. Pearl already crying when she saw Kronos used Luke body, Kronos laughed and he wiped Pearl tear, Pearl shivered when Kronos touched her cheek, even though it's Luke hand but it's felt different, it's not warm and gentle like usual, it's cold and harsh.

"Don't touch her!" Jason yelled.

Kronos clicked his tongue "Jupiter son huh? I have no use for you"

Kronos focused on Pearl again "Well, what do you think of my new body?"

"Get out from him!" Pearl yelled.

"Sorry can't do that Pearls" Kronos smirked.

"Don't called me that!" Pearl barked.

"Why, Luke always called you that right?" Kronos cocked his head.

"You are not him!" Pearl yelled again.

"He is in here" Kronos tapped his head "Inside my mind and he is screaming right now. He is trying to stop me from hurting you"

"You jerk!" Pearl yelled again and tears started to spill again from her again "I hate you!"

Kronos growled "I'm done playing nice!".

Kronos snapped his finger and his scythe appeared on his hand, Kronos examined the blade and he smirked at it. Then he cut Pearl rope, Pearl slumped on the floor and she glared at Kronos harshly. The suddenly Kronos felt something behind him, he turned and blocked Percy sword with his scythe.

"Stay away from her you freak!" Percy growled "Stop hurting her any further"

The something hit Kronos back, but it bounced back quickly. Jason stumbled a bit and he glared at Kronos harshly.

"You cannot hurt me boy" Kronos said without looking at Jason "And I think Jupiter son smarter than this"

"I won't let you hurt Pearl" Jason hissed.

Kronos laughed and he quickly spun around and threw Jason a crossed the room, after that he faced Percy with delight. Percy growled and he kept attacking Kronos, but the time slowed down again and Kronos casually threw Percy towards Jason direction. After that he walked towards Pearl again and grabbed her arms, forced her to stand up. Pearl tried her best to free her arm but Kronos had iron grip, Kronos pinned her to the pillar behind her and he smirked at Pearl.

"Luke right" Kronos said "You are irresistible"

Kronos stroke her cheek and Pearl turned away from Kronos "I knew why you are very dear to him"

Pearl held back a sob but her whole body is trembling with fear, suddenly a huge force shoved Kronos and made him stumbled back. Pearl eyes went wide when she saw Rex stood in front of her, Rex panted hard and he got a little cut on his arm.

"You! How dare you betray me?" Kronos yelled in anger.

"Sorry, you cannot have her" Rex smirked at him "She's not belong to you"

Suddenly something flew and hit Kronos right in the eye, Kronos yelled in pain and shook his head. But when he opened his eyes, Pearl saw icy blue again, not gold.

"Luke!" Pearl yelled, calling him.

Luke turned and he faced Pearl "Pearl?" he said weakly.

Then suddenly he screamed in pain and clutched his head "Rex! Quickly take get her away from here, I cannot hold him any longer"

Rex nodded and he grabbed Pearl arm "Come on!"

"But Luke! We have to save him!" Pearl protested.

"Is no use!" Rex argued "Kronos is too strong!"

"But, can't you see what happened just now!" Pearl yelled "Luke able to take his own body!"

"Not for long! Quick, before Kronos take over Luke body anymore" Rex yelled and began to drag Pearl.

"I'm not going anywhere, until I save him!" Pearl said stubbornly.

"Pearl please!" Luke pledged "Please come with Rex! I…I don't know how long I can hold Kronos"

"But, I cannot leave you alone" Pearl insisted and her eyes started to get watery.

"Please" Luke said sadly "I don't want him hurt you using this body, please leave for my sake"

Pearl cried and she shook her head "Luke, why?"

Luke screamed in pain again and he clutched his head tightly "Quickly, I beg you leave this place"

Pearl shook her head "I'm not leaving you!"

Rex sighed "Sorry Princes"

Rex wrapped his arm around Pearl waist and carried her, Pearl screamed in anger and hit Rex back.

"Put me down!" Pearl said quickly.

Rex kept ran towards the entrance of the labyrinth, behind him Percy and Jason followed Rex lead. When they entered the labyrinth, Nico quickly sealed the entrance with black rock and he turned towards Percy and Jason.

"Is that real?" Nico asked.

"Unfortunately yes" Rex answered and put Pearl down "But we have to keep running, it's not safe here"

"And why we have to trust you?" Annabeth demand.

"Because I'm your only chance to beat Kronos and his army" Rex said "And I already saved your friend"

"Fine, but I don't trust you" Percy said.

"It's good enough for me" Rex said.

"Percy! He's working with Kronos!" Annabeth protested.

"He just save Pearl" Percy said "It's good enough for me, beside if he acted suspicious, I'm the one who will kill him"

"Whatever" Rex said "Come one, we have to keep moving"

"But how about Pearl?" the red hair girl said.

Percy turned to faced Pearl who now leaned on Jason shoulder, her eyes looked dull and her energy leave her.

"I'll be with her" Jason said "Don't worry"

Pearl just looked at the ground with empty look, her energy leave her body and after everything she saw. Kronos used her boyfriend body, that sight enough to shatter her heart into million pieces. Her minds went blank and she lost her will to continue her life.

"Pearl please be strong" Jason murmured.

Pearl didn't answer, she just stood still there. Jason sighed and he shook his head "It's no use, she isn't budging"

Percy crouched down and face Pearl "Pearl please. We have to go"

"Luke…" she said weakly "We have to save him…"

"Pearl, Kronos already take over his body" Percy tried to argue "It's no use"

"But can't you see" Pearl said loudly "He can his body back just now and give us enough time to run away, there must be a way!"

"Pearl please" Percy pleaded "Luke…he is gone!"

"You don't understand" Pearl said and she started to cry "You don't understand my feeling"

Pearl dropped to the ground and crying hard "You don't understand how it felt!" Pearl said again "You don't understand"

"We have to carry her" Rex spoke "She still shaken up"

"Okay" Jason said and he crouched down in front of Pearl "Pearl we have to move okay, I will carry you now"

Pearl didn't respond and Jason took that as a 'yes', he carried Pearl on his back and he nodded towards Rex.

"Now, Percy" Rex said "Lead the way, and we have a lot of thing to discuss, about Kronos and his plans"

Sorry if it a bit rush, but I have to rush it so it can continue to HOO

And I need review so I can make this story better
