Ch. 25- Meeting Elva
As Jin promised he returned several times over the next two years. He and Regina grew closer and he had an amazing bond with Isobel, but every time he brought up taking Isobel and Regina to demon world, Regina would make excuses on why it wasn't a good time. On one particular fall afternoon after lunch, Jin helped Regina clean up to have the chance to talk to her some more on the matter.
"I don't understand why we can't just go." said Jin annoyed by her reluctance.
"Because I can't just leave the girls here alone." Regina replied.
"You keep saying that, but they are grown up from what my eyes can see." he stated. "Why can't they just come along? If I plan to be marrying you They ought to meet my Mum too!" he snapped.
"Why can't she come here?" asked Regina.
"She's alone!" he replied.
"You or your pallies can't escort her here?" asked Regina.
"Why must it be so hard for you to just come to demon world with me?!" snapped Jin again. "Meet my Mum, my family, my old friends! All I wants to be doing is sharing my life with you! My life! Not just be existing in yours!" he yelled breaking a dish as he threw in in the sink. "I love you, Regina, but you are a selfish bitch sometimes and I hate that bout you!" Regina stood there in shock as he stormed out into the dinning room and stomped up the stairs. She heard the door of their bedroom slam shut. Tears began to roll down her cheeks, but she didn't dare sob. When she heard foot fall coming towards the kitchen she turned back to the sink and wiped her tears away quickly. She went back to work. She began to clean up the glass carefully.
"I'll get it." came the voice of Arwen behind her. She came to her side and put an arm around her sister. "You have to stop worrying about everyone all the time. You have to stop being afraid to live your life."
"You stopped living your life when Mials was born." replied Regina sadly. "When's the last time you've been to demon world?" she said refusing to look at her sister's face.
"My life didn't stop when I had Mials." said Arwen helping clean up the glass. "I mean, it slowed down compared to what it was on some level, but you never really lived for you, Regina. You need to take this chance and go with Jin." Now she looked at her sister.
"What if she doesn't like me?" she asked sincerely scared. Arwen let the glass go in the sink and gently grabbed Regina's wrist reassuringly.
"If she doesn't like you, she's crazy!" said Arwen. "She will be the luckiest woman in all the worlds to have you as a daughter-in-law." Regina dropped the glass now and hugged her sister.
"You will all be fine, right?" she asked as she hugged Arwen tight.
"Ceala and Aleira will be fine without us." she stated. Regina pulled back and looked Arwen in the face perplexed. "Probably better than fine since you, me, and the kids are the mess makers."
"You're coming with us?" Regina asked surprised.
"Part of the way." said Arwen. "I already talked to Jin. He agreed to escort me to the forest. Not that I think I need the protection, but better safe than sorry. We both really hoped you'd finally agree to go this time."
"Has Kurama invited you to come?" she asked.
"No." replied Arwen. "I'm just tired of this. Mials needs his father, even if Kurama doesn't need us." Regina nodded. "Now go tell your man you will go. I will handle this mess here." Regina smiled a bit.
"If you insist." she said. She walked out of the room heading upstairs. When she opened the bedroom door she saw Jin packing his things up. Her breath hitched and she rushed over. He didn't even looked at her. She could tell he was really upset. She grabbed his hands from his bag. He turned to her fuming. "We'll go." she stated. "You are right and I'm sorry I've been so unrelenting about this. I will work harder to think more of you and your feelings because I don't want to lose you. I want us to be a family, which means me being a part of your family as much as you're a part of mine." Jin's face softened as she spoke.
"Well, better late than never I be thinking right now." he replied. "I'm sorry I got all crazy."
"I think I needed you to." she stated. "I needed to be scared of losing you for a moment so all my other fears would fade away. Just don't make a habit of it, please. I couldn't take it." He grabbed her and pulled her in for a kiss. She kissed him back passionately. He pulled his lips from hers after a long moment and buried his face in her neck and hairs. "You know, the best part of arguing, is the making up." she whispered in his ear. They twitched in response. He looked her in the face with a grin.
"Well, let's hop to it then." he stated. She kissed his lips fiercely and pushed him against the bed. He fell onto his back and she crawled over top. "Mercy!" he exclaimed at the view of her cleavage and the determination in her eyes. He untied the top of her dress releasing her breasts. He began to suck on them as she began to grind against him. She could feel him getting harder. She moaned in pleasure. One of his hands went to the back of her neck and his fingers tangled into her long, curly hair He began to kiss up her chest and neck until he met her lips. His other hand pulled her dress up and he slipped it between her legs. She pulled her lips away.
"Don't be in a hurry, Jin." she whispered sensing his impatience. "Let's make love all afternoon. We can just sleep tonight because tomorrow we should leave." Jin was excited over her willingness now.
"What about Isobel?" he asked suddenly thinking of her again.
"The girls will take care of her." she said softly. "The three of us will have plenty of time together at your home." Jin smiled.
"Just want an afternoon of bliss, you are." he joked. She smiled mischievously.
"You want that too, my dear." she whispered knowingly. He agreed by kissing her passionately again. For the whole afternoon they stayed up in the room barely making it down in time for dinner. When they did, they were hand in hand and very happy.
The next day after breakfast, Jin, Regina, Arwen and the children left waving goodbye to Aleira and Ceala. The kids were excited to be going on a big adventure to demon world and felt safe and sound despite all the things they knew of it. By evening, they were at the tavern where Jin and Regina met. They rented two rooms and put their belongings in them before going down to eat. The children were becoming fussy as they began to finish their meals so Jin took them up. Suddenly two voices sounded at the bar that Arwen recognized immediately. She turned to see Senju and Maha with a small group of men. She got up and went over.
"What and unexpected surprise!" she stated. They all looked to her. Senju and Maha looked shocked.
"Arwen?!" exclaimed Senju. "What are you doing in demon world?!"
"I'm on my way home." she stated.
"To human world?" asked Maha.
"No." she replied with a smile. "Surely no one's taken over my room." There was an uncomfortable silence.
"Is Master Kurama expecting you?" asked Senju. Arwen's smile faded.
"What does it matter if he is or isn't, Senju?" she retorted. Maha and Senju pulled Arwen aside away from the group.
"I didn't want to say anything before, Arwen," began Maha, "but Kurama gave away your room and as far as I know all of your old belongings."
"He doesn't take about you." added Senju.
"The only member who know about you are me, Senju and Gryphon." said Maha.
"What about Sangan and Dr. Melchid?" she asked.
"They passed away." said Senju. "Kurama ordered us not to speak of you to any new members." Arwen nodded sadly.
"So basically going back now would just make a big mess, huh?" she asked really hurt.
"Probably so." replied Maha. "You know Kurama. Best to let him bring you back on his time scale."
"When's that going to be?" she asked. "When Mials is all grown up?" There was another long silence. "Is there someone else?" she suddenly asked. Senju and Maha looked between each other.
"As far as we know, no." answered Senju.
"But he gave your room to a female that joined about three years ago." said Maha honestly. "She seems rather taken with him. How he may feel about her is a complete mystery. He doesn't talk to anyone about his personal things anymore." Arwen absorbed this. At first she wanted to cry, then she was just filled with anger.
"I'm going to give you a note." she stated. "Please take it to him."
"If you insist." said Senju. She went upstairs and quickly wrote a note. When she came back down she gave it to them without further discussion. She sat back down with Regina who looked worried.
"What was with all that?" she asked.
"I really don't want to talk about it right now." she replied before gulping down her wine.
The next day Jin, Regina and Isobel left. Arwen decided to stay behind at the tavern. Later that night after the men left, Arwen confessed to Regina what they told her and what she wrote. She hoped the best for her sister as she walked with Jin who carried Isobel.
"So about a two day walk from here right?" she asked as they had just started out.
"Yes, my love." Jin said with a smile.
At the end of the journey they reached a small village nestled in some hills close to a mountain range. Streams gently flowed from several different points going all directions. The closer they got the more bridges they seemed to cross. As they went through the town in the evening light, Regina prayed each hut that come up was Jin's home. Finally on the out skirts of the town they came to a nice little dwelling. Smoke came from the chimney with a strong and delicious smell. As they neared, the door flew open. A beautiful she demon came flying out. She had long maroon colored hair. She had the same blue eyes and pointy ears as Jin. She was about Regina's height and in fair shape. She embraced Jin overjoyed.
"Mum, I brought two very special girlies with me." he stated. She looked to Regina who was carrying Isobel. She squealed and threw up her hands ecstatically. She dashed the few more steps to them and hugged them.
"Been waiting forever, I have!" she exclaimed. Regina could tell where Jin got his accent from. "Regina and Isobel!" She kissed Regina on the cheek and turned her full attention onto her grand daughter. "Oh, look at you, precious!" she put her hands on Isobel's cheeks lovingly. "I'm your grand mum, my dear!" Isobel smiled. And stressed her arms out to her.
"Granma!" she exclaimed.
"It's great to finally meet you, Elva." said Regina. "Jin's told me all about you. Thank you for all your letters."
"Oh, please, Regina," said Elva grabbing her wrist gently and pulling her towards the house, "stop with the pleasantries. I am certain you're a might hungry and exhausted. Come now, I will feed you, my deary." Regina followed willingly. She was glad for this reception. Jin took up the rear amused. Once in the house, Jin took the bags to the room he had been carrying. Elva sat Regina and Isobel down at her old wooden table. She went to the kitchen and came back with food. It was a stew. It looked and smelled great. She set a bowl down for each of the girls. "Let me run get the bread and water." she stated. She came back quickly with a pitcher and a loaf of bread. She poured water into the glasses on the table.
"Thank you, Elva." said Regina.
"Call me Mum." she said happily. "We've be making you my daughter-in-law soon enough, if Jin and I have our way." Regina smiled. She could tell Elva was sincere.
"I look forward to it, Mum." she replied.
