Carlos' POV

I am currently in the passenger seat of James' forever sweet ride, but I couldn't enjoy it. The awkward silence was killing me, and judging by how James was gripping the wheel, it was bugging him too. Why is it awkwardly silent? Were we both nervous, or upset with each other? No, I will tell you why via flash back.

FLASH BACK

Me and Logan were still watching Torchwood when the alarm on my phone went off, signaling that I should go get dressed for my date with James.

With a sigh I sat up off the couch and stretched my arms out.

'I gotta go get ready for my date.' I said to Logan before heading to my room.

I only took about five minutes to get dressed, I had more confidence in my dressing now that it was my second date with a guy. I was wearing a red button up with the sleeves rolled up to my elbows, black jeans and red VANS, I accessorized with my dog tags.

DING DONG

'I'll get it!' I yelled remembering what happened last time.

I opened the door and saw James standing there in a white V- neck under a grey vest and black jeans, he was rock his own pair of black VANS.

'Coming a courting.' James said with a smile.

'Hi, let's leave like right now.' I said quickly.

'But I wanted to meet your parents.' James said with a slight frown.

'You really don't.' I said as I began to push him out the door.

'Hold it!'

'Dammit!' I said under my breath before turning around to see Papi standing there, arms crossed.

'State your name and intentions towards my son. You have ten seconds, go.'

'James Diamond, to take him out on a nice date.' James says quickly.

'You said it too fast, meaning you said the first thing on your mind. That means you're impulsive, and impulsive teens are usually not virgins. Are you a virgin? Do you have kids, if so how many, if not, any on the way. You have twenty seconds, go!' Papi said in one breath.

'Um...'

'You hesitated, that means you do have kids!' Papi exclaimed.

'Miguel! Leave him alone, I'm sure he doesn't have kids. You don't have kids do you?' Mami said as she came over to us.

'No kids.' James said with a smile.

'But you're no virgin.'

We all look over to the couch where Logan was still watching TV.

'I knew it! Go pee in this cup!' Papi said while pulling out one of those small plastic cups they have for urine samples at the hospital.

'Mami!' I yelled in desperation.

'Miguel! What are you doing?' she asked after hitting Papi in the back of his head.

'He might have something, I can't tell Carlos not to have sex, but I am allowed to make sure he doesn't end up with herpes or something! Now Go pee in the cup bathroom in first door on the right.' Papi instructed before handing James the cup.

'Urine isn't the only way to check for STD's.' Mami said.

'You don't think I had a doctor go over his medical records, they checked the blood he donated, he's clean as for as they can tell.'

'You checked my...' James said in shock.

'I'm a detective, now go.' Papi said.

With a confused face James disappeared down the hall, his disappearance followed by the sound of the bathroom door closing.

END FLASH BACK

That is why it is so awkward right now.

'I told you didn't want to meet them.' I said softly.

'No, no they were...intense, but I'm still glad I met them. I highly doubt I will forget it.' James said softly.

'So...where are we going?' I ask, trying to get back to our date.

'To the lake, I love it there. You're gonna be the first person I've ever taken there.' James said.

'Why haven't you taken anyone there?' I ask.

'Because I love that place, I don't take people I only want to fuck to a place I love.' James explained.

'So you don't want to fuck me?' I joked.

'Oh I want to, but it's not the only thing I want with you. I want to thank you Carlos.' James says, keeping his eyes on the road.

'For what?' I ask.

'For telling me to stop being such a slut, for making me talk to Kendall.' James said.

'Speaking of Kendall...'

'I'm won't tell you anything until after the date.' James said flatly.

'Dammit! What is with you and Kendall and making me wait for answers?' I grumbled.

Eventually we pulled up to a absolutely beautiful lake, the full moon making the entire scene painfully romantic.

'This is amazing.' I gasped as I looked around.

'I know, I like to come here when I need to relax, about a mile or so away there is a park and on the other side lake a lot of people like to fish. So over here I can see the kids playing and watch families fish and have barbeques.' James said fondly.

'It sounds nice.' I said truthfully.

'It is, wanna know how I found this great spot?' James asked.

'How?'

'I ran here after I got 'turned down' by Kendall, you know, in a non dramatic way.' James said with a small smile.

'And again, speaking of Kendall, what did you two talk about on Thursday?' I asked hopefully.

'Not telling you.'
