I hope you guys liked my last chapter.
Also, the title of this drabble is not mine. It's actually the title of a book I read called, as you know, 'Deeper Than The Dead' by Tami Hoag. It's a really good murder mystery book, but it has very strong language and kind of graphic. But the plot line is amazing, and the way the author writes her characters are almost flawless. So if you read those types of books about murder crimes and stuff like that, I recommend it, it's amazing.

22.) Deeper Than The Dead(Tori is 10 years old in this one)
Tori POV
"Why are we doing all this?" I asked, looking up at the giant Christmas tree in our living room.
"Because it's Christmas, Tori. Janet let you celebrate Christmas, right?" Dick asked as he helped Alfred carry in boxes of ornaments.
"Mom always made me come back home this time of year, and there isn't much Christianity in Saudi Arabia. Most of the people there are Muslim, and if they aren't, their tourist." I said, picking up an ornament out of a box. It was a red ornament, one of those giant ones that was as big as an adults hand. In my case, two hands.
"Well, that's kind of great. You can celebrate your first Christmas with us!" Dick said, smiling widely, though it didn't reach his eyes all the way.
"I still don't get it, what's the tree for? And, why are we putting ornaments on it? Does putting bright lights and weird ornaments on a fake Evergreen tree symbolize something?" I asked, looking up at Dick confused.
Alfred smiled at me sadly, shaking his head. "Evergreen trees are an old tradition, Mistress Christina. The Romans and Europeans used to use them in early times, though not many did. Most trees are fake now because no one wanted the tree's pine needles everywhere, and I have to admit, the fake trees are less of a hassle to clean up after." Alfred explained.
"Okay, I guess that makes some sense." I said, nodding slowly. Traditions were very important to people, even in the Al Ghul family. So, I guess that did make sense. "But why are we putting lights and ornaments on them?"
"Because, they make the tree more exciting. Come on, you can help put some on." Dick said, tugging me towards the tree with a box of ornaments in his other hand.
I sighed, putting the ornament that I had in my hand on the tree. Dick wouldn't let me go until I at least put a box of ornaments on the tree, that much I was sure of. But, I still didn't understand the big deal about Christmas.
At the most, it sounded like some greedy holiday where people just bought gifts. And some of the other things to do with Christmas didn't make sense either.
Like, why would you kiss someone if you were under a mistletoe? Or go singing everywhere when all you would probably do is annoy people? And why would you put up a wreath? It just didn't make sense.
"Don't worry, you'll get the hang of Christmas eventually." Dick said, breaking me from my thoughts.
I looked up at him, blinking, then shrugging. "I guess. When will Dad be back from patrol?" I asked, reaching onto the tips of my toes so I could put an ornament up higher.
That by far was the most annoying thing about Christmas. Dad said it was tradition that, once we got closer to Christmas time, everyone but him got to skip patrol. Jason, Dick, and Alfred seemed happy about this, but I didn't see what was so great about it.
Fighting people was something I've done my entire life, even around this time of year. I just... didn't understand why would stop that all of a sudden for a stupid holiday.
"Master Bruce will be back, after you are asleep, Mistress Christina. In fact, you should be in bed now." Alfred said, giving me a look.
"It's only 10 o'clock, Alfred." I said, looking up at him with a pout.
"And most 10-year-olds are asleep a lot sooner, Mistress Christina. If you want, we can make your bed time earlier." Alfred said, making me shake my head frantically.
"No, no need for that. I'll go to bed." I said, my shoulders slumping.
"Good. And do not forget to take your medicine, Mistress Christina." Alfred said as I started towards my room.
"I know." I mumbled, hanging my head as I started walking up the stairs.
"Tt. What are you doing here?" Damian asked when I opened the bathroom door, a tooth brush in his hand.
I stepped inside the bathroom, grabbing my own tooth brush before answering, "Alfred's making me go to bed early again. I don't understand how it being close to Christmas is a reason for me to have to go to bed so early."
Damian shrugged, sliding the tooth paste across the counter to me. "Tt. I don't understand either. Todd seems to think it is a good reason though, since he threatened to tell Pennyworth if I didn't go to bed." Damian said, a sneer starting to form on his face as he brushed his teeth. His sneer would have been more impressive, if toothpaste wasn't slipping past his lips, making him look like a rabid dog.
I shook my head as I brushed my teeth, spitting the toothpaste out into the sink when I was finished. Every single person in the house seemed to have some secret plan against us, working together to get us twins into bed at a good time for some reason. Usually it was just me, since I stayed up till 1 to 3 o'clock in the morning. But for some reason, they wanted Damian asleep too.
Before I could ask Damian about it, barking echoed down the halls, Titus running past the bathroom with Ace doing his best to keep up. "Tt. Why are they acting so stupid?" Damian asked, scowling.
"Dad must be here." I said, following the dogs as they ran towards an entrance.
"Father will not be happy that we didn't listen to Pennyworth." Damian said, though he was probably thinking more about what Alfred would do to him when he found out we didn't go to bed.
"We only wanted to see our dad before we went to bed. Is that really so bad?" I said innocently, noticing Damian's smirk out of the corner of my eye.
"Then lets go." Damian said, following me down to the Batcave.
When we got to the clock that opened to the Cave, Ace and Titus were pawing at the clock, whining. "Tt. What is wrong with you two?" Damian asked as we opened the door, the dogs bolting down the stairs barking.
I frowned, running after Ace and Titus. I was still training Ace, but even before I started training him, he was never a loud dog. He never barked like this, not unless someone was trying to hurt me. And Titus, I don't think I've ever heard him bark like he is now. He was barking like something was wrong, like we were all in danger or something.
"Ace, Titus, get back here! What's the matter with you... two?" I asked, stopping in the middle of the cave to as Ace and Titus raced a head of me.
"Why did you stop, Christina?" Damian asked, stopping next to me when he saw why Ace and Titus were barking so loudly.
I felt the blood drain from my face, my body shaking slightly. This shouldn't have happened, they shouldn't have been here.
They shouldn't be standing outside the batmobile, with Ace and Titus barking at them. They shouldn't be here, looking at our dogs with wariness and fear. Because- "You two are dead." Damian whispered next to me, and I could tell he was just as shocked as I was.
Because Martha and Thomas Wayne should not be in the Batcave, with Dad walking out of the Batmobile while glaring at us.
"What are you two doing up, your supposed to be in bed." Dad demanded, pushing off his cowl as he neared us, blocking our view of the two people who should have been dead.
"We were getting ready for bed. But then Ace and Titus started freaking out, and we wanted to see if you came back. " I said, trying to move around Dad so I could see the couple that was suppose to be my grandparents.
"You two just wanted to get out of bed." Dad said, his voice losing some of the edge he had before. "Go back up stairs."
"But Dad, they're dead. They're dead. How are they alive? Was it someone in Gotham? Or- please don't tell it's the Lazarus Pit, please don't tell me Talia did this to them like she did to Ja-"
"Tori, that's enough. Call Ace and Titus and both of you go back to bed. Now." Dad snapped, his voice losing any softness it had before as he pushed us towards the cave entrance by our shoulders.
I shuffled back, staring at up at him. The only time Dad's voice had ever been like this- cold, as sharp as a knife, angry- was when we had our first fight, when I wanted in on the case to stop Talia and Ra's. I understood why he used it then, after all, we had been fighting. But, he never snapped at me like that when we weren't fighting.
I narrowed my eyes, hearing the sound of shuffling behind Dad that echoed slightly through the cave. "Fine. Come on, Ace!" I called, turning around as I heard the sound of Ace's panting while he caught up with me.
Maybe this wouldn't be a boring Christmas after all.
So, originally I was planning to write this without the Christmas theme in it. But, I got distracted with my other stories and wasn't able to work on this till now, and since Christmas is only a few days away, I thought I should write a Christmas fanfiction with the entire Wayne family. I hope you guys liked the first part!
