Amy's P.O.V.
"Kylie, what do I do?" I groaned. We'd been at the mall for a couple hours now and it was starting to get dark. Kylie had bought a couple more things, but my mood was ruined so I just sulked and followed her around.
"Dude, for the last time, stop moping around and just go back to Kendall's house! It's not like he kicked you out!" she exclaimed.
"Yeah, but I can't just go back to his house after I kissed his best friend!" I said.
"Here we go again. Amy, he kissed you. I still can't believe Edward Cullen from Texas came back here though. I've always known he was such a loser. Anyways, your stuff is back at Kendall's place and if you explain, I'm sure he'll understand. So just go home ok? I have to get back and help James memorize his script for something. Come on, I'll drop you off," she said.
"Meh," I muttered. I dragged myself to her car and thought about the possibilities of Kendall breaking up with me.
Before I knew it, Kylie was nudging me. "Hey, we're here," she said.
"Huh? Oh, well thanks for the ride," I said flatly.
"No problem, you want me to come inside with you?" she asked.
"No, I better deal with this myself. Thanks though," I said, getting out of the car.
"Ok, call me to let me know it's all good, bye!" she said as she drove away.
I stood there on Kendall's wide grassy, green lawn. The chilly autumn air hissed at me, bringing strands of my dark hair to my face. My light blue summer dress flew up, and I was thankful that I was wearing shorts underneath. I immediately wished I was wearing a cardigan on top of my dress, the cold air stung my skin. The moment may have seemed overly dramatic, but I had no idea what to do. Was I supposed to walk and be like "I'm home!" or do I go apologize instantly and say how sorry I was and how it wasn't my fault...
How could I be on the edge of my relationship just because of my stupid ex-boyfriend? Wasn't my life so perfect just yesterday? I took a deep breath and took a couple soft steps across the lawn, getting closer to the door by each second. Finally, I was face to face with the door. My hands were too sweaty, I couldn't reach for the doorknob. Usually, even though it wasn't too safe to do so, Kendall always left his door unlocked because he knew I came in and out a lot. He promised to give me a spare key as soon as possible, but that hadn't happened yet. So for now, all I had to do was twist open that door knob and let myself in to the comfort of Kendall's home.
Except today it wasn't a place of comfort. And turning a door knob wasn't as simple as it sounded. I reached for the door knob and shivered from its cold touch. The metal was quite freezing, and believe it or not it sent weird chills down my spine. I bit my lip as I slowly turned the knob. To my surprise, it opened. I sighed. Kendall was at least kind enough to let me in. He knew I was coming home, so he had left it open. I cleaned my shoes on the mat, and let myself in to the warmth of his house. Only the living room light was on, and maybe a room upstairs, but everything else dark. It was eerie actually, and for a second I wondered if anyone was home. Suddenly, Kendall appeared on the top of the dark wooden staircase. He cleared his throat and raised his eyebrows.
"Um, hi," my voice croaked.
He nodded. "You're finally home. I was wondering if you were coming home or not. I figured you'd stay with Kylie, if not, maybe Edward," He said, putting a slight emphasis on Edward. You could almost hear the disgust in his voice at the mention of Edward's name.
My heart sunk; did he really think I would go home with Edward? I figured by now he would know that I wasn't that type of girl. I guess not.
"Listen, you have every right to be mad at me right now Kendall," I whispered. "But I promise, it wasn't my fault. He kissed me first. I tried pulling away but his grip was too strong and-"
"Hey hey hey, shhh, calm down. I believe you," Kendall said, wiping away the tears on my face that I didn't not even know were there. "I know you well enough to know that you would never do that to me. Well, at least I hope I do. And even though Edward and I are friends, he's always been that kind of a guy. Always goes back to his ex-girlfriends and stuff. So it's all right ok? Just calm down," he assured me.
I sobbed even harder. Kendall was the most caring and understanding boyfriend ever, and here I was kissing other guys (although it wasn't my fault) Honestly, I didn't deserve him. I don't think anyone did. He was just so innocent and caring and I could go on forever...
Kendall wrapped his arms around me and gave me a warm hug. He grasped me tightly and whispered "I'm sorry for getting mad at you. I was worried I would lose you."
I buried my head in his shoulders and held on to him, not wanting to let go. Why couldn't we stay in that position forever?
"Hey, you wanna go get some coffee? It's pretty chilly outside, and a cup of warm coffee would be nice," he said.
"Mmm, no. Let's just drink some hot chocolate here. I can make some mean hot cocoa," I giggled, my head still buried in his shoulders.
"Well then, to do that you'd have to let go of me," Kendall smirked. He let his arms drop and I whined. I reluctantly removed my arms from his body and walked over to the kitchen.
"Hey can I go change into my pajamas? This dress is too airy, and I'm getting cold," I said.
"Yeah sure. You should wear the hot pink one with the dark polka dots," Kendall replied.
"Why?"
"Cuz you look good in them and they show off your curves," he said with a wink. I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at him. I quickly went upstairs and changed into my warm fuzzy pajamas with a black tank top. I slipped on my fuzzy slippers, let my hair loose, and went back downstairs.
"Aww, don't you look cute as a button," Kendall cooed, nudging my side. I lightly punched him in the shoulder and got our mugs down from the cabinet to make the hot chocolate. I boiled the milk on the stove and added a couple pieces of milk chocolate to the cocoa powder to make the taste richer. Kendall stood behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Kendall, let go, I can't concentrate," I whined.
"Who concentrates while making hot chocolate? Oh, to make the percentage of hot chocolate taste better, I must add this much cocoa powder along with boiling milk that is 90 degrees...you're such a nerd," he laughed.
I shoved him away and pushed him into the living room. "Stay," I commanded.
"Oh, you're so scary," he said sarcastically. He shrugged his shoulders and laid down on the couch with a magazine. I went back to the kitchen and poured the hot chocolate into two mugs.
"Kendall! Hot chocolate's ready!" I yelled. He quickly came in and grabbed his mug. He took a sip of his and immediately set it down.
"Ooowww! I burned my tongue!" he screamed. I started to laugh.
"Wow, dude obviously! It's still like super hot!" I exclaimed.
"Ugh, dude, I like need some ice," he said glumly. He went to the refrigerator and got a small ice cube and set it on his tongue. I got the can of whip cream out and squirted it all over my hot cocoa.
"Hey, Kendall, Ima go get my phone from upstairs. Gimme a minute," I said. He was too busy with his ice so I just left.
When I came back downstairs, Kendall was drinking hot chocolate again. Except it was my mug.
"Kendall! That's my hot chocolate!" I shrieked.
"So? It's colder than mine, so I drank it!" he shot back.
"Wait...you mean you finished my hot chocolate?" I asked slowly.
He slowly nodded his head. I slapped my forehead. Kendall was so paying me back for drinking my hot cocoa.
"Kendall, darling, will you come here for a second? I have to show you something," I said. He walked over and I lead him to the front door.
"It's outside?" he asked confused.
"Yeah, just step outside."
I opened the door and he stepped outside. "Close your eyes and when I say open, you can open you eyes okay?" I asked.
He nodded his head and closed his eyes. "No peeking," I whispered seductively. I slowly stepped away from him and silently shut the door.
"Okay, you can open your eyes!" I said loudly through the window.
Kendall opened his eyes, and looked hopelessly confused. Then, he realized I had locked him out.
"Hey! Princess, what was that for? There's no surprise is there?!" he yelled.
"Next time, don't drink my hot chocolate!" I yelled back, laughing.
"Aw come on Princess, it's getting cold out here! Let me in!" he whined.
"Tell me that you love me!" I shouted.
"I like you!"
"Oh you don't love me?"
"No, I like you at the moment, he smirked. I think the word love and hate are too strong to describe my feelings for you right now," he yelled back with a smirk.
"Ugh, you suck. Fine!" I ran to the front door and let him in. He brushed by me and the touch of his skin against mine made me jump. "Man, you're freezing!"
"Hey, you're the one who locked me out!" he defended himself. Then he went back to the kitchen and grabbed his mug of hot cocoa.
"Wait wait wait, don't you think that cup should be mine? I mean you already drank mine, so-"
"I don't know, do you deserve it after locking me out? Nope, I don't think so," he said. Then he gulped down the hot cocoa and finished with a "mmm that was soo good."
I glared at him. And I could do nothing but stare.
"Uh, are you okay Princess? You're kinda scaring me..." Kendall said.
I simply stared, and walked out of the kitchen.
"Oh so you're giving me the silent treatment now?" he called out.
I didn't bother answering back and I just sat down on the couch.
Kendall walked over and sat down beside me. He stretched out his arms, and purposely knocked me over, pushing me off the couch. I landed with a thump on the hard ground. "Woops, my bad," he smirked. But I continued the silent treatment. I simply stood up, dusted myself off, and sat back on the couch. Then, I had an idea. I got up, walked over to my purse, and took out the bottle of perfume that had a 'seductive' scent that Kendall simply could not withstand. I sprayed some on and walked back over to the couch. I think Kendall noticed.
"Did you put something on? You smell really nice," he said, coming closer to me. He started putting his arm around me but I shoved them away and scooted over. He raised his eyebrows. "Oh, playing hard to get huh? Well two can play that game. It's getting hot in here, don't you think?" he asked. Then, he took off the white V-neck he was wearing, so that the only apparel he had on was his long fuzzy pajama pants. His rock hard abs were clearly visible in the dim light, and I had the urge to- wait, stop it Amy, control yourself.
I stood back up and started to walk towards the kitchen to make myself another cup of hot chocolate. Suddenly, I slipped on something on the carpet. Who else but Kendall caught me. This was so bizarre; we were always in this position. Me on the bottom and his arms behind my back so that they were supporting me so I wouldn't fall. I stared into his beautiful green eyes and I could feel the warmth of his body. I wanted to kiss him so bad, but that meant losing the fight.
"How stupid is this? We're avoiding each other because of an ordinary cup of hot chocolate. I know it's nothing serious, but I guess I should've let you win from the start. I'm sorry Princess," Kendall breathed.
I don't know if I was having mood swings because it was almost that time of the month again or if there was just something wrong with me, but my eyes welled up with tears. "Kendall, why are you apologizing? I don't want to bring it up, but after what I did to you today, how could you just let it go and apologize to me instead?" I whispered.
"Because you have to let go of the past and live the present. I give up, you win Princess," he murmured.
"You should've never drank my hot chocolate," I cracked a smile.
"You should've never locked me outside," he smirked.
"You should've never pushed me off the couch."
"You should've never seduced me with your perfume."
I laughed. "Well then, you should've never teased me by taking off your shirt and showing off those abs."
He raised his eyebrows. "So you admit that you were tempted? You admit that you wanted me? 'Cause boy did I want you," he breathed in my ear.
"Mmm, Kendall stop. Let go of me..." I mumbled.
"If it makes you feel better, you are wayyy hotter than hot chocolate," Kendall whispered.
I giggled. "If it makes you feel better, you're the cheesiest person I know," I replied. "Mm, can we-"
Before I could finish my sentence, Kendall shut me up with a kiss. I couldn't help but say "Mmm, you taste like hot chocolate."
I could tell he was trying not to laugh. As the kiss deepened, I wrapped my legs around his waist and he carried us upstairs. He laid me down on the bed and started to kiss my neck. Then slowly, he started to remove a strap of my tank top. I realized what he was doing and suddenly grabbed his hand.
"Kendall, I'm sorry, I... can't. I-I not r-ready yet..." I said, my face turning red. Kendall stopped kissing me and slowly lifted himself off my body and sat up.
"Oh Princess, don't apologize! I definitely understand. I should be the one apologizing; sorry my hormones have been out of control ever since you put that damned perfume on. Funny how you turn me on within a spray from a bottle."
"Are you sure you're not mad...?" I asked.
"Why would I be mad? I'm hoping that you're not mad at me for doing that! I'm really sorry though. If that ever happens again, just let me know you're not ready. I respect your decision and I'm willing to wait til the right time comes. You're a smart girl Princess, don't let anyone affect your decisions," Kendall finished. He placed a kiss on my forehead and laid down next to me.
"Thank you Kendall. Thanks so much, that means a lot..." I whispered, a tear of anxiety strolling down my cheek. "Ugh, damn this perfume is strong. It's like it's made of onions or something, making me cry and all," I laughed. Kendall wiped my cheek and kissed my cheek where the tear had been.
"Even if it had a horrid stench, it still wouldn't keep me away from you," Kendall whispered.
He gave me one last kiss until I stopped him.
"Kendall?"
"Yeah Princess?"
"You still owe me a cup of hot chocolate."
Kendall sighed as he rubbed his eyes. I scooted closer to him and snuggled with him.
"I like you Kendall," I said softly, making a reference to earlier today.
"Love you too," he smiled.
And although I absolutely loved hot chocolate, I liked Kendall just a bit better.
Soooo, how was that? What did you guys think?! Plz leave me a review! I'm dying to know what you guys think!
