Spencer couldn't breath. Everything was moving too fast and too slow at the same time. It was cold. The last thing he remembered was the opposing teams linebacker slamming into him. His head had hit the ground and his leg twisted painfully underneath him. After that he had blacked out. The first time he woke up he was in an ambulance. He could hear the sirens. A girl dressed in white was sitting next to him. She smiled at him when she noticed that his eyes where open.

"Hi Spencer, my name is Kam. Can you tell me what day it is?"

Spencer closed his eyes and groaned,

"Friday, November 3rd." He mumbled.

"Well done, how about your parents' names?" Spencer thought hard for a minute the names alluding him before finally remembering them.

"Um... Sydney and Tony Porter."

"Was that hard to remember?" Kam asked.

"Kinda, what is this for anyway?"

"I'm trying to see if you're concussed. What about your girlfriends name? Do you have a girlfriend?"

Spencer thought for a hard minute, trying to remember his boyfriend's name. It was on the tip of his tongue,

"Alastair." He grunted. Kam frowned.

"I thought you just had a small concussion but this might be worse than I thought, what did you say your girlfriend's name was?"

"Boyfriend," Spencer corrected. "My boyfriend's name is Alastair." Kam's frown disappear. Her face became strict and she didn't respond. Her voice was tense when she spoke next.

"We're almost at the hospital. You have a small concussion and a broken leg. We've notified your parents they should be waiting for you when you get there."

Spencer looked down at his leg and suddenly felt pain shot through him. It was strong and overpowering and his vision faded for the second time that day.

It wasn't until the next day when he saw Alastair that he really remembered his ambulance ride. He was alone with Alastair in his bedroom chatting and lazily making out when Kam crossed his mind.

"So when do you get this cast off?" Alastair asked, looking down at the blue that encased his boyfriend's leg.

"I think the doctor said six months."

"That sucks."

"Yeah, all of this does."

"Your head still hurting?"

"Yeah, and my heart a little." Spencer replied. Alastair looked at him confused. "I was just remembering my ride in the ambulance. The girl who was in the back with me, she was checking if I had a concussion by asking me loads of question. She asked what my girlfriend's name was. I told her my /boyfriend's/ name was Alastair. She got all weird after that." Alastair mules this over, running a hand through his hair.

"Do you think she was homophobic?" He asked.

"Not sure, I blacked out before I could figure that out."

Alastair nodded. "Well screw her if she is and forget her if she isn't. Just kiss me. Fuck the homophobes." Spencer pressed his lips against his boyfriend's. Couldn't agree more he thought.
