Vigilante Chapter 25 'Vengeance Blooms from the Darkness'
A/N: Hey guys, this chapter is shorter than the rest but it's about the mission. And I decided to put more swearing in from now on, if you don't like it, sorry about that.
Day: August 24, 2777
Time: 11:00pm
Location: Police HQ in Washington D.C.
"Everyone here?" Jack asked the 12 groups, known as the Infiltration Unit.
Each of the agents reported back.
"Juno, you in the reactor?" Jack asked while he and May were moving through the buildings, disguised as masked soldiers.
"I'm in the reactor sir, the charges are already placed and primed for detonation. All I need to hear is your word," Juno said as she got out of the reactor room by the ducts.
"Good to hear, diversion team, you ready?" Jack asked the groups who would provide a line of defense so the swat team and military won't interfere.
Tech, Slam, Rev and Duck were with the diversion group. Many of the members who could do massive damage in a specific area would be placed here. They were all ready to teleport, once the battle starts, they will be in front of the place and make the defensive line.
Seth answered back, "Seth reporting, we're ready."
"Mu, how's the hacking" May ask the group.
Over in a mysterious location, a group of 20 people were on computers, hacking and uploading the data.
"No worries guys, once we download everything, blow it up." An agent said while hacking into the HQ that Jack was in.
"Good, did you hear Juno?"
"Yeah" Juno said while she safely placed the detonator away.
"Infiltrators, you ready?" Jack the last group.
Ace and Lexi were with this group, they are the ones who are already in the building, ready to kill everyone in the building and secure the documents not saved on servers.
Luna answered in as she was walking around using her invisibility, "We're ready here brother."
"Ok, this may be our last time as a group so I am glad that I'm fighting with you, you guys are always family" Jack felt emotional, that this was it, their final mission.
"Yeah, yeah, enough with the emotional pity, I can't wait for some bloodshed bitc-" Seth was saying before 2 people slapped him behind his head. He looked behind and it was both Lucian and Ella Blackfang who stopped him.
"Enough is enough Blaze." Lucian knew that he was excited but it wasn't nice to stop an emotional moment.
"You may continue Shadow" Ella said as Seth was glaring at them.
"Ok, but thank you Seth, I needed that" Jack felt emotional, but it was thanks to Seth who brought him back.
"Ok," Ella said as she slapped Seth again.
"Bitch" Seth was annoyed at her.
"You're annoying." Ella blankly said at him.
Ace and Lexi were anxious; they knocked out some guards and used their new toys to look like them. They walked around the building, examining the building.
"How long until it starts?" Ace asked as he was out of sight of the other personnel.
Jack looked at the clock, reading 11:15, "In 2 minutes."
"Ok" Ace decided to have a chat with Lexi like normal guards.
A minute went by and they heard an agent say, "Ok, I got the data, destroy it!"
Right after, a large explosion went off below the bunnies and the lights went out the second it happened. They turned their disguises off and turned their night vision on.
May, Artemis, Luna and Jack came out of the vents behind them.
"Let's go" They went up a few floors to find some people stumbling the dark.
Jack pulled out his pistol and fired on them. The security guards went down with every shot fired but some police were ready for them, they had bulletproof armor and night vision goggles on. They rushed in and fired onto the group.
Jack looked back at them as they got behind cover, "Go, we got this," he and May got up and fired at them. The soldiers got back to a defensive position while the bunnies and twins got out of there.
Luna appeared right in front of them as they entered a room.
"Come on, this way" She led them to the Intel room 10 floors down.
They didn't find too many people to stop them because Luna and the others from the infiltration unit already killed them.
Ace put his pistol away and so did Lexi, thinking that there's not much to worry.
They heard police sirens going off outside of the building but smaller explosions happened. They ran over to a window to see what's going on. They seen 5 agents down on the ground, with grenade launchers, RPGs, mini-guns, anything that can do a lot of damage.
They also had the armored cloaks, it looked almost like the regular ones but it had more metallic finishes on it and heavily armored.
"Where's Project Nightfall?" Luna asked the others who were still in the building.
"They're still in the training facility 70 floors below the ground. Heavy resistance down here though, its like these soldiers know what was going to happen today shit-" Juno said while she was firing back on the comms.
"Don't worry, team 1 and 2, go down there and provide assistance" Luna commanded.
"On it," 4 agents said as they rushed down there.
"Team 7, you're with me and team 8, you're requested with team 9" She looked back at bunnies and twins.
"Gotchya" they said at the same time. The twins went up 3 floors to assist with Jack and May with their firefight.
The trio opened elevator doors and went down the elevator shaft to go to the -4th floor.
When they entered the -4th floor, they noticed that floors down here were huge, almost like it was designed for war. Everything here is like a hidden underground bunker type of basement. Concrete walls, ceiling, and floors and metal doors leading to somewhere.
They seen more dead bodies down here but some of the lights were on, powered by a backup generator.
They walked around the floor for a few minutes, looking for their target. Each floor was designed for something but overall; the floors were like a maze, easy to get lost.
After searching, they found a large metal door.
"It's here," Luna ran over to a large vault.
"We need a metal bender or something to get rid of this door here stat" Luna requested.
"On my way" Kaiya said as she teleported over to them in a few seconds.
"Ok, this may take some time," She put her hands on the door and used her fire to melt the metal.
As she was doing that, some soldiers running in their direction.
Luna turned invisible and ran towards them, she disarmed them and shot them in the head.
She grabbed their rifles and ammunition. She got back to the group and gave it to the bunnies, "Just in case, save your ammo and use these."
Every few seconds there was explosions and gunfire either nearby or from their comms.
"How's everyone doing," Luna asked for a status report.
Each were fighting soldiers but overall good.
"Ok" Kaiya said as she pulled the metal door apart. The intense heat made it flimsy and she pulled it away from the group so they won't get burned.
"Great work Kaiya" Luna said as she and the bunnies ran in to grab the info.
"I'll go back to the action" She teleported out of there and back to her team.
Luna compiled the papers and when the group had the papers all in one place, they activated their comms and teleported the papers instead.
Once they were done, they ran back to the action. Luna ran back to team 3 while team 7, the bunnies, ran back to where team 8 and 9 were. There was still some more Intel needed on the -7 floor.
"Team 8 and 9, were going to our next destination" Ace said as they grabbed the cables and went down another 3 levels but it took longer because the distance from each elevator door grew longer, meaning the floors here were large.
When they reached floor -7, they noticed that the doors were already opened.
They jumped in and noticed that this place was nothing like they ever seen before. Doctors and scientists were lying on the ground with blood puddles forming around them. The corridor they were in was enormous, some lights were on but it gave an ominous feeling as they walked past the bodies, looking for team 8 and 9.
A few minutes went by looking around the area, they guess that the lower they go down; it becomes more ominous as they go. How does it look at the -70th floor?
They walked by and seen their partners.
They ran over to see another large metal door with Jack, May, Artemis and Luna waiting for them.
"Glad you can make it" Jack said as he used his earth bending techniques to rip the stones around the door.
"This the last one?" Ace asked as he heard more chatter.
"Yeah, this one contains their military secrets, secrets not known for hundreds of years" Jack said as he used his powers to rip the doors but something stopped him. He pulled back as the others got out of the way, but something was preventing him from doing so from the inside.
He let go, to see what's going on.
The large metal doors suddenly fell down, causing a large smoke cloud to form. They heard something thrown towards them, it landed in front of Jack, May, Artemis and Luna.
They couldn't react fast enough but heard ticking for a second.
"Grenade!" Ace yelled as the grenade went off.
Once the smoke settled, the 4 agents were down. The bunnies ran over to check on them, luckily they were still breathing.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, we finally got something brother!" they heard a female say as there was something making the ground shake every second.
"Agreed sis, and we got something interesting, 4 agents down and 2 still up. Should we kill them?" A male said.
"Hell yeah, time for some action!" the girl said.
The smoke quickly dispersed and the bunnies seen 2 high tech battle suits, it resembled their bionic armor, but it was designed for something else. They knew who was in the suits, Andrew and his sister Andrea Rivers, a Major and Captain of this sector.
Ace looked at Lexi and back towards them. They walked past the area where the door used to be so they could battle without getting their partners more injured.
They pulled out their weapons and fired at them, but it was ineffective, their armor was bullet proof.
"Let's do it" Andrea ran back and to the bunnies amazement, a larger battle suit activated and the armored police captain got into the seat and started it up, and so did the police major.
It got up and started moving, the weapons also came online and aimed it at them.
"I bet you're wondering about our star-crushers" Andrea said as she examined the cloaked figures.
"It was originally placed so non-super powered law enforcement officers could have a chance to fight against though disgusting and ugly super powered beings. And just in case the Loonatics gone rogue, we will use our bionic suits and star-crushers to deal with this" The bunnies felt offended as she said ugly.
"Enough talk" Andrew said as he fired a missile at them.
The bunnies quickly got out of the area and missed the missile.
Luckily the enormous concrete room contained many concrete pillars, it provided much protection for the 2 bunnies.
"Come on out little bitches, enough hiding. You were hiding for 18 fucking YEARS," Andrea said as she fired her entire load out in all directions.
The bunnies used their agility and dodged all of the rockets but sadly; most of their cover was blown away.
"I don't know if we could do it" Lexi said to Ace.
"We faced many impossible challenges before, we could do this" Ace pulled out his dual swords and activated his new ability, he charged towards the robots with his laser swords.
Jack just started to wake up from the explosion. He looked up to see both Ace and Lexi battling 2 of their targets.
"This is Jack reporting, we found 2 of our targets."
George fired a RPG towards some cops, "We're handling the police here, so far they're bringing in the SWAT teams now. It will be getting tough so we can't send any backup in there."
"Copy that" Jack got up and woke everyone else up.
Ace fire his lasers and Lexi fire her brain-blasts. Luckily their suits were made for them, it also made their powers appear black instead of being red or pink.
Lexi jumped on robot's back and pulled out one of her wakizachis, to use it to jab into one of the arms of Andrew's robot.
"Get off" He attempted to get her off but she cut some cables and his left arm went limp. He rushed over to a wall to crush her but she got off of him just in time.
"That's it" he pushed a button and got out of the robot. The robot followed him and he battle Lexi, as the robot will help him.
Andrea did the same thing; the robot was in autopilot and set to kill the Shadow Claws agents.
The Rivers attacked the bunnies, the robots tried to attack but ice covered one and the large metal door pushed the other one.
Not caring of the situation, the Rivers set the robots to take the others while they kill these 2 first.
The robots complied and used their rocket thrusters under their feet to go through the floors above them. Jack was on one robot while May was on the second one.
The Asuna Twins stayed behind and aided the bunnies.
Andrew was hard to hit, he could almost absorb any damage and could reflect it back the original user. So Lexi and Artemis had to find a way to defeat him while Andrea was too quick for Ace and Luna.
The robots went up 20 floors and 2 more teams came in and helped them defeat the robots. It was a tough battle, 19 floors were destroyed from these new prototypes. Luckily the building was still stable, most of the floors mostly destroyed with large holes. The front of the building still stood but the insides of the building was like a war zone, everything destroyed, walls gone, ceilings and floors collapse and tough to see because of no lights.
Seth was laughing as he charged towards the police and used his melee weapons to kill everyone. Each police office went down as his scythes cut through them. He knew how to kill people if they have armor on, just hit them behind the joints.
Duck was behind him to, thanks to the new improvements, his power orbs or 'eggs' improved ten-fold. He could form the egg and it will be whichever one he wanted, and he could make it explode like a grenade.
He teleported a lot and used his eggs to blow up the vehicles while Seth will kill the officers. Even Duck's other abilities improved as well, he could quack to any place at will and his aqua dense gained more power. If he formed 2 eggs in his hands and held them together, the egg would be 2x stronger.
"How long until the military arrive?" George asked the agents in Mu.
"They will arrive in 5 minutes with their best, so be prepared for the worst guys" the same person who hacked HQ said to towards their teammates.
Jack examined the area, "If these robots could do this much damage and make matter's worse, these prototypes did this." The 19 floors above the vault was destroyed by these 2 robots.
"Agreed, I'm glad we're doing the mission now" May said while she jumped down a floor at a time, "you guys" she looked at the 4 agents who helped them, "go up to the diversion team and help them."
The agents followed her orders and went up to aid them.
Jack followed his wife down to help Ace and Lexi, "How's everyone doing inside?"
"There's still police in the building and Project Nightfall" Luna said as she and some teams got together so they could prevent the project, but they were fighting some tough adversaries. These soldiers also wore bionic suits to fight against super-powered foes to protect the experiments.
"Ok, everyone else, either go find Luna or go up to the diversion team" He heard the others saying, 'yes sir' and moved out.
"Agh" Ace said as Andrea knocked him back. He had a hard time getting a punch because she was too fast.
Luna jumped up and tried to kick her but she got out of the way and counter-attacked the young agent.
Ace got up and tried to attack but ice formed around him, he looked up to see May froze him.
"Don't worry guys" May said as she battled against Andrea while Jack will battle Andrew.
Andrea charged towards the wolf but May used her powers to make the ground icy.
The police captain had great balance, she ran on ice.
May made an ice wall to protect herself but the bionic suit had power enhancements. So Andrea punched through the wall of ice, what she didn't expect was that it was a trick.
May used this as a trick to appear behind the woman and used her ice fists and landed a series of punches and kicks that did a lot of damage.
Luckily Andrea's suit was made for a variety of powers, even ones that only existed in fiction. So overcoming ice was one that it was built for. Her armor activated a heat so it would melt the ice from the May's arms and legs.
Andrea decided to use a dirty trick; she pulled out some brass knuckles and used them to hit May. She was knocked down for a second, Andrea tried another punch on the down agent but luckily Ace ran over there and used his sword to cut her hand.
The sword, infused with his Energy Beam Emission, it turned one sword red and one with black energy. The swords were regular looking katanas but the sharp side glowed with his energy, but he was angry enough to have the energy grow bigger than the sword. The energy was powerful enough to extend the blade further and become much sharper.
Even the bionic suit wasn't enough for Ace and his swords.
"AH," Andrea looked at her hand, lying on the ground. She looked back and she had a look of pure utter hatred.
"You piece of fucking shit!" She pulled out a large axe. The large axe was her height but she still wielded it with ease with her left hand.
Jack used his powers to make his hands into metal and punched Andrew. Each punch was working but he threw punches back. Jack felt each blow but still persisted.
Lexi and Artemis decided to help Jack; they drew their weapons and attempted to stab him in his joints.
Jack pulled out his axe and charged at the major, he jumped up and hit him in the head. The shock made him crash to the ground and made a crater where his head landed.
He heard the other 3 cry out in pain, he looked back to see Andrea holding May by the neck, Ace was pinned by her foot and Luna had the axe hit her in the side.
Furious, Jack released a little bit of his rampant; he grabbed the axe from Luna and used it to hit the captain.
Andrea couldn't move as the axe hit her. She let go of both May and Ace as she got hit. The shock of that hit sent her back to her brother, who's still on the ground.
"How do we destroy bionic suits?" Jack asked both of the bunnies.
"The suits were made to improve the functions and powers, the only thing it never encountered was intense heat, I wanted to add it but it was didn't happen yet." Tech said as he used his magnetic polarity to take the military attack choppers and drones down.
"That's why…" Ace decided to increase his power to his swords, to protect the agents around him.
His swords glowed black, even the energy going passed the swords. He prepared and charged towards them.
Andrea got up and sees an agent charging towards her and her brother. She tried to pull out a weapon but she didn't find any, so she tried to anticipate his attacks and block them.
Ace swung one sword and missed her but his other sword hit her on the chest, he pushed her and cut her a few more times on the chest. He seen Andrew get up also, he pulled out a gun to shoot him.
Ace had great prediction; he knew where he was going to shoot so when he fired, he got out of the path just in time. He swung his sword to destroy the gun and cut the chest plate apart.
The plan worked, the metal plating around the chest fell. They were bleeding but nothing to extreme. They had some black under clothes on, so when the metal fell off, nothing was showing.
-BAM BAM-
Ace looked back to see Jack and May pulled out their pistols and fired at their hearts.
Andrew fell to his knees, "Damn it" he then fell face first onto the concrete ground.
Andrea glared at them and chuckled, "It's too late for u, and we were just a diversion." She closed her eyes and fell down to the hard ground.
"Where is he?" Jack asked whoever is still alive of the twins.
Andrea lifted her good hand and pointed down to a hallway past the large room.
"May, you and the twins will teleport this info out of here and follow us, we're after Blake." Jack said as he and the bunnies ran past the hundreds of year's worth of secrets, to their mission, to kill Joseph Blake.
After a few minutes of going down a corridor located behind the large pillar room, they noticed a large set of doors. The doors opened to reveal their target, Joseph Blake.
He was wearing bionic armor as well but he had his customized. He looked like a great representation of the grim reaper, who's about to go after its latest victim.
He smiled as he seen 3 agents running towards him, "Welcome to your demise."
Lexi pulled out her wakizachis, Jack pulled out his dual axes and Ace used his swords.
Ace decided to yell out, "BLAKE!"
Blake was thrilled to get some action, he pulled out his weapon, which was a large black metal scythe, "This is going to be fun."
