A/N: I love how all you guys hate on Skyler. I mean she's my oc and I still don't like her. Don't worry four will find out soon enough. Fours pov

"So will, you've done the deed with Christina yet?" Zeke asks with a smirk on his face. We're currently in the control room, throwing a plastic orange ball around.

"Zeke!" I chortled, while catching the ball, throwing it to Will who caught it and threw it at Zeke with so much force it hit him in the face.

"Ow!" He whines rubbing the red spot on his cheek.

"That is none of your business!" He says standing up. He looks at the clock on the wall and then looks at the screen monitoring the pit, it was going all fuzzy and needed some readjusting. "Going to fix that camera." He mutters to no one in particular. He grabs a ladder and aset of tools from the corner of the large room and walks out the door, letting it slam shut.

"So you want to tell me what's going on between you and Tris?" He asks throwing the ball back to me.

"Nothing we're friends."

"Uh huh." He says rolling his eyes. "She doesn't hold any of our hands under the table during lunch."

"That's because you guys have girlfriends." I defend lamely.

"Yeah, will, and myself have girlfriends. That still leaves Uriah. Plus you have a girlfriend." He says emphasizing the you.

"I know I have a girlfriend Zeke."

"Yeah one who's a bitch. Seriously dump her and date Tris. I know you have a thing for her."

"She's not a bitch!" I protest.

"And you're delusional." He throws the ball against a wall, and catches it while it bounces back. He does this several times before speaking again. "But just dump her. We all know you guys been growing apart since Tris entered dauntless."

"I'm not going to break up with her just because I've fallen for another girl.-"

"Ha! I knew it!" He shouts at me. "Wait are you seeing tris behind Skyler's back?"

"Do you really think that low of me?" I ask, hurt In my voice.

He shrugs. "There is a charm about forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable."

My mouth drops open in shock at his words. It's a rare occasion when Zeke or even Uriah says something intelligible, it's like you'd expect pigs to start flying or something. But Zeke's words did have truth to it. Growing up in abnegation you've always craved forbidden things - mostly the food. It did remind me of tris. She is like the banana bread my mother used to bake for the faction less. It smelt delicious but we were never allowed to eat it.

"Close your mouth!" Zeke says throwing the ball at me.

"You should've transferred to erudite, Zeke!" I tease, throwing the ball up in the air while catching it.

"Did you kiss her? Four you can talk to me about this. I can keep a secret."

"No I didn't kiss her."

"But you want too?"

I nod. "There's just something about her that intrigued me since she landed in the net. It's wrong that I fell out of love with Sky, and fell In love with someone else. I feel so guilty because I feel like I'm cheating on her." I say putting my face in my hands.

"Then break up with her and be with Tris."

I shake my head no. "I can't do that to her. I've been committed to her for two years now."

"Why not? It's not like you're married to her, or that she's pregnant with your baby. There is nothing binding you to her."

"What would you do Zeke? What if Shauna fell in love with someone else?"

"Then I'd let her go."

"Just like that?" I ask in disbelief.

He shrugs. "Yeah it would hurt. The pain would be unbearable, but because I love her I'd let her go and let her be happy. If Tris makes you happy be with Tris. You can't have them both four."

The rest of the day around dauntless was the same as usual, just minus seeing Tris around at break. I haven't seen or heard from Skyler since lunch break and I have a feeling she's no longer at the compound. I replay over the conversation I had with Zeke in my head as I lied there. Apart of me thinks he's right, but there is another part of me who loves Skyler and doesn't want to hurt her. No matter what happens between the two of us, she's always going to be a part of me -besides Zeke - she was one of my first real friends here at dauntless. She became my best friend and I fell in love with her.

I won't allow myself to hurt her like that, to cause her so much pain, because the boy she fell in love with, stopped loving her and fell hard for another girl. I'll pretend for her sake, because all I want is for her to be happy, and I can't live with myself if I caused her pain.

So for now Tris will have to be the one that got away.

A/N: so grammar question here someone please help me! Is it grammatically incorrect to use "that" twice? Is it frowned upon, like should I avoid it?
