So, I did type a chapter before I left for my weekend of camping, and I was able to upload it when we went into town. Other than that, I couldn't upload anything else so I didn't bother typing. But now I am home, and school started. Needless to say so has the homework.
Good news-I mapped out the next 9 chapters and they are entertainingly good.
Bad news-school is about to take over my life, so I'm most likely only going to update on the weekends.
Alek POV:
I was dancing, with one of the prettiest girls I have ever met. Every time I whispered something in her ear she giggled. She had her arms around my neck, and she kept glancing on the rock that now had a home on her finger. She giggled, at that, too.
I would occasionally glance at the other in the room, and I would notice how large their smiles are. Nobody in the room could stay mad. Many must have been jealous, but having witnessed this fairy tale cured the jealousy.
Fairy tale. I guess that is what you could call this. Chloe was most definitely my Cinderella. I hoped that I was her Prince Charming, but I couldn't read minds. It wasn't hard to read her eyes, though. Her eyes clearly answered my question.
Yes, this was, indeed, a fairy tale. And all fairy tales end in happy endings.
After our dance, the party came to an end. It took about an hour to say goodbye to everyone, but we both received plenty of blessings and requests for invitations to the wedding.
After the last person left, we were alone. Valentina had walked them out, since they were the last ones, and Jasmine had long ago started cleaning up.
"So, did you survive?" I asked her, my fiancé.
"Yes. Actually, I finished with a miracle." She said.
"It's not a miracle that I'm in love with you. It's a miracle that you said yes." I explained to her.
She smiled at me and I pulled her head to my chest. She wrapped her arms around me, and we cuddled, alone on the dance floor.
"I love you." We both said at once. We then laughed.
She pulled her head off my chest and grabbed my hand. I lead her up to the penthouse.
When we walked in Jasmine was cleaning some dishes in the kitchen. She was singing softly to herself, but Chloe and I were both capable of hearing her.
"First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in the baby carriage!" She sang.
Chloe looked up at me and she gently shook her head as she giggled. Jasmine knew that we heard her, but she made no remark. I continued to lead Chloe into my bedroom, so we could lay down and talk.
We started off with small talk. We talked a little about some of the people Chloe met tonight. But our conversation was short lived by a shout from the next room.
"Then come a baby in the baby carriage!" The voice shouted.
"Jasmine, your wrong. Before the baby comes the saving of the Mai. That's one of the main lines in the song." Chloe shouted back.
There was no response from the kitchen, since Jasmine had clearly felt defeated.
"How about blue and brown for our colors." Chloe exclaimed.
"Our colors?" I questioned, because I had no idea what she was talking about.
"Yes, our colors. You know, the colors of everything in the wedding?" She asked.
"Oh, of course. Anything you want, make this your dream wedding." I told her. Money was not an issue.
"So we can run off to Vegas together?" She asked.
I shook my head and frowned at her.
"Okay, okay. A small wedding with just our main family and friends?" She asked, with a more reasonable request. But it was still a no.
"After you just promised how many Mai they could attend?" I reminded her.
"Darn. Fine, big wedding. You win." She said, in defeat.
"When are you going to tell your mom?" I questioned her.
"Oh, yeah. I'm not sure on that one. Not right away, that's for sure." She said.
Chloe lifted her hand and she took a closer look at the ring. Then she laid her hand down on her lap.
"I want Jasmine and Amy to stand up." She told me.
"Okay, I'll ask my buddy from school and I guess, if it will make you happy, I'll ask Paul." I said.
Chloe leaned over and kissed me. I knew I was making her happy. As much as I hated Paul, I loved Chloe. So if this was one small thing that would make her smile, I would go to all costs.
"I really can't pick a made of honor. I'll just have co-made of honors." She said, after she thought for a minute about the situation.
"That will make them both happy." I reassured her. "Chloe? How soon can we make this happen? I'm dying to have you be mine, legally."
"Six months." She said, confidently.
"Why so long?" I asked her.
"Any sooner and it will be bad luck." She said, proving her knowledge about weddings.
"Fine, if its what you want. But I'm just saying that cats cause bad luck, so I don't really think we will get affected by that myth." I said.
Chloe snuggled deeper into my arms, and she soon drifted to sleep. I held her and I thought about the day when I'll be able to do this every night. About the day that she will be mine, and I will be hers. That day will be here soon, before I know it. And she will make me the luckiest man in the world. And the happiest.
I know that Chloe wouldn't be able to bear children if she was fighting for her lives. She has responsibilities that she needs to attend to, and I respect that. One day, I hope that she will bless me with a son.
I've always thought about having one. I guess since I didn't have a dad for the most recent part of my life, I've always wondered what it would be like. How a dad would talk to his son about girls, and what he would say to his son on his wedding day. I knew that one day, if I had a son, I would be the best father there could be.
We would play baseball, and I would teach him how to fly a kite, and I would make sure he knows how to treat a lady. My method might not have been the best, but it, at least, worked for me. How else did I score the beautiful Uniter that lays nested in my side?
Hopefully, Chloe wants children, too. At least in the future. But that is nothing to worry about now, because Chloe has a long life ahead of her. Much has to be accomplished. And it will. I can feel it in my bones, that Chloe will change our race, forever.
It just hasn't happened yet.
Chloe POV:
In my dream, I was confused. I was wondering around like a lost puppy. I had no idea where I was going, or what was happening. I was just…confused.
I finally approached a gate that had a matching number as to the slip of paper in my hands. I paused and sighed. Then I continued to walk towards the gate. I handed the slip of paper to the lady at the counter and she gave it a stamp. I took it back and I stumbled onto the plane.
When I sat down, I waited anxiously for take off. Worry started to replace the confusion, but not fully. I was both worried, and confused.
When the plane took off, I didn't relax. If anything, I was even more worried than before. I kept looking out the window, hoping for answers, but nothing happened.
I started getting more confused, but then I started to get sad. My eyes watered up, and I let the tears fall. I grabbed my purse, and began to dig through it, searching for a napkin. I pulled out a familiar little bag, and then I paused. I was probably thinking about something.
I suddenly dropped the bag back into my purse and my eyes widened in shock. I was wondering what was happening, but I just sat there and began to cry again.
After a few minutes of crying, my hand trembled, as it made its way to my stomach.
That's when I noticed the small bump, protruding from my abdomen.
Author note: Oh no, what could be happening! Review to find out, and possibly get another chapter this weekend!
