More Hiatus Talk
...It's been a while.
I'm writing this little anecdote specifically because I'm taking so long to continue writing Continuum Shift despite saying I would start again in a few months.
The truth is, I had ideas, but I didn't like them. And then I began to realize that the story needs to go back quite a bit so I can crawl myself out from the deep dark hole I dug.
That said, as I proclaimed before, I won't give up on this story. But now it's more like I won't give up on this idea. Continuum Shift will still be a story focusing on Morgan and the various changes that happen around her, but I want to try it all over again. Or close to all over again.
The route I plan to go with it stays the same for the first few chapters, up until Emmeryn's attempted assassination. That's when I feel I started spiraling out of control. There's a lot of potential in what I had set up there and I threw it all away for whatever reason.
But since I feel like it would be really weird to just keep those first few chapters and be rid of the rest, I'm going to rewrite the whole thing.
Yes, this is throwing away a lot of hard work. And it pains me. But that's the benefit of this website. I can go back and fix my mistakes.
If anyone wants the old stuff here(personally I think the last few chapters are garbage), let me know and I'll keep it, either starting the reboot I'm doing through a different page, or putting those old chapters under a specific title(like an "OLD" at the front or something).
Oh, and that brings me to the other issue.
As I've been writing "A Mundane Life" another FE story that I had started as a side project, I've gotten really into it. I haven't posted but one chapter for it, but that's because I'm getting really creative and thought out for its ideas and story route. Something I want to do when I restart Continuum Shift.
As a result, that new story is currently my main focus, and I'm gonna put Continuum Shift on the backburner. It's a little too hard trying to create ideas for both at once, because I'm going for entirely different ideas for each one.
I'm not restricting myself to any time limit this time, as to keep ideas fresh with no stress whatsoever. I apologize if you liked where the current story was headed, but as its writer, I didn't like writing it. I'm gonna need a lot of time to rework it.
Continuum Shift probably won't update for the next few months, maybe even the rest of the year. I just can't do it right now. I hope you guys understand and I'd really like it if you gave "A Mundane Life" a shot(Whenever I get to updating that)!
