QUESTION: I would love to be a part of a role play story with spanking/discipline but I can't seem to find an active one or at least one I can figure out lol. If anyone knows of one or would like to start a role play story with me, message me :)

CHAPTER 25

Mark was really tired of looking at the intersection of these two walls of his room. Actually he was past tired of it! It felt like hours since Gibbs had left with Penny and he could not imagine what they were doing. Penny seemed really pissed at Gibbs so he was hoping that Penny was finally chewing Gibbs out and the man might be out of their lives now forever! In just the short time since Agent Pain in the Ass had become a part of his life his world had been turned upside down and he hated Gibbs for that. At least, on the surface that's how he felt, but if he was honest…really honest he wasn't sure if he wanted Gibbs in or out of his life. He was starting to like him, a little. Working on the boat together today was really fun, minus the whole bad grades spanking part. It felt nice to have someone around besides his sister. Gibbs wasn't just someone to talk about guy stuff with although that was cool, but he seemed to "get" him or at least seemed to want to. No one besides Penny had ever tried to talk to him about his anger or that there might be ways he could control it. Mark knew he needed to learn to control the anger, but it was hard when he felt like he was always angry. Did he hate Gibbs or did he not hate Gibbs…. that was a question he could not seem to settle on an answer for.

It was those thoughts that were constantly warring inside him as he stood there staring at the corner. One part of him knew he was out of line tonight and had purposely gone out of his way in the last conversation to piss off Gibbs. Mark did not trust anyone easily, people he loved always left so there really was no reason to let someone close to you just to have them leave. Penny left for college and then moved two hours away after law school, his best friend since first grade moved just months before his parents died and then he lost them. Even living here with Penny did not help the ache of feeling abandoned. He knew she loved him, knew she was trying her best, but she seemed to always be gone, always working. It was just easier to be mad at her, mad at the world, than to let anyone close to him again. Now here was Gibbs promising he wouldn't leave, promising he wanted to be a part of his life. Could he trust that? His heart wanted to but his head knew better. That voice in his head (or chip on his shoulder) started screaming at him that he was wrong. Gibbs would turn tail and run as soon as things got too hard or he and Penny got tired of each other. It was the truth he guessed. No one stayed. That's when the anger shot back up… fine, no one stays, he can live with that, but he'd be dammed if he was going to stand in this corner like a two year old waiting to get his butt beat but a damn spoon! Nope…he was outta here!

And with that thought Mark turned around, peeked down the hall to make sure there was no sign of Gibbs and found his shoes, phone and backpack and turned to the window. Within a couple of minutes Mark was out of the window and jogging away from his house. Another voice in his head, this one quieter than the earlier one but just as demanding, kept nagging at him that this was a bad idea and he should turn around and go home now. He even stopped at one point and turned back to the house but he could not make his feet move that direction. Going back now would be like butt suicide! No, he'd just have to wait until everyone cooled off and then maybe he could consider going back. With that he turned and jogged away really not sure where he was heading.

Gibbs was heading back down the hall towards Mark's room glad that things seemed to be ok with Penny and glad that he had given himself a bit to calm down. He actually felt more prepared to deal with Mark now than if he had not taken this short break with Penny. He was already starting to really love this kid and he wanted to help him so much. It was so important he always keep his emotions in check though so Mark didn't use Gibbs' anger as a means to increase his own. Gibbs was all to familiar with how quickly emotions and escalate when both parties couldn't see past their own anger.

Deciding they should take care of the cussing first, he stopped in the hall bathroom on the way to Mark's room and found where Penny kept the new bars of soap, unwrapped one and placed it on the sink to be used in just a couple of minutes. That task finished he turned to go into Mark's room and frowned, frowned deeper than he had in years. Not only was the kid not in the corner it only took a second to notice the window was open and a quick scan confirmed his shoes and backpack were gone. Gibbs immediately pulled out his phone and tried to call Mark but it went straight to voice mail. It did not, however, ring in his room so he figured that at least meant Mark had it on him which was a good.

Turning to walk down the hall he quickly dialed a familiar number. "McGee I need you to get me the location of this number right now!" Gibbs barked Mark's number into the phone.

"Ummmm sure Boss" McGee stammered caught off guard at the request since they weren't currently working a new case. "Give me a few minutes Boss, I need to boot up my system and hack into the towers. Ugh, Boss did we get a new case?" McGee questioned.

"NO" was the only answer McGee got before hearing a dial tone because Gibbs had hung up on him. Sitting there for a stunned moment trying to figure out what was going on McGee finally shock his head to clear his thoughts and headed to his computer. The last thing he wanted was for Gibbs to call him back before he had an answer for him.

Satisfied that McGee would get him what he needed in just a few minutes he headed back to Penny's home office. Walking in the room he could tell he startled her. He was too worried and angry at Mark to comment on her choice of chairs at the moment but it did not go unnoticed.

"Mark made a break for it through his window. I am heading out to get him." Gibbs barked at her and then turned to leave. "Wait, Gibbs Stop!" Penny all but screamed. "What do you mean he made a break for it? You know where he is?" Penny asked, standing and heading towards Gibbs.

"Looks like he climbed out his window while I was in here with you. I don't know yet where he is but he has his phone on him so I have one of my team getting me his phone's location. I will have it in minutes and then I'll go find him and bring him home." Gibbs tried to sound reassuring for her in the hopes of stopping the panic he could see visibly cross her face.

"Oh my god Gibbs, this is my fault! I could not wait until after to talk to you and we made Mark wait to long and now he's out there after dark where anyone could hurt him and we have no idea where he is and…and …he could" Penny started to ramble with tears coming to her eyes.

Gibbs cut off her rambling and pulled her into a hug, "Ssshhh honey, I promise I will have his location in just a minute or two and I will go get him. This is not your fault. Mark knew he was supposed to stay in that corner and I guarantee you he knows he's in even big trouble for his little prison break, but we will deal with that once he's home. It will be ok I promise." Gibbs soothed, running his hands down her back.

Taking a deep breath Penny pushed Gibbs back, "Ok, go get my brother Gibbs!" Penny ordered turning Gibbs around and pushing him towards the door. As Gibbs turned the handle Penny called his name. Turning back, she looked like a very scary combination of calm but determined. He figured this was close to her "game face" for court and he had to admit it was a fierce look. "I think it's time Mark realize just how true his nickname for you is, Agent Pain in the Ass." Penny stated. With a half-smile and nod Gibbs opened the door and walked out, grabbing his keys off the table as he passed it.

Starting the engine Gibbs his redial on his phone. "Hi Boss" McGee answered on the first ring.

"Talk to me McGee" Gibbs gruffed.

"The number you gave me is pining on the corner of First and Washington. There is a park there and it looks like that's where the phone is. Do you need backup Boss? I'm dressed I can be there in 10 minutes." McGee informed him

"No but thanks. This is personal. Good work, see you in the morning." With that Gibbs hung up the phone and sped towards the park.

Mark had been sitting on the swing kicking the dirt for about 10 minutes just trying to decide what to do but had yet to figure it out. It's not like he had somewhere to go or any money even if he did. He knew he would have to go home but he figured if he waited it out for a few hours at least Gibbs would give up and go home and he would only have his sister to deal with. He could handle Penny much better than Gibbs.

"Hey kid" came a call from two people Mark could see heading his way. They looked grimy and dirty and not at all like people he wanted to hang out with in the dark in an abandoned park. Mark tried to just ignore them in the hopes that they would just go away but it didn't work. The two men, who looked like they were definitely not friendly, just continued to head his way. Contemplating whether or not he should run took too long and before he knew it there was one guy in front of him and one in back of him. Mark quickly got up off the swing trying to get out from between them. Having them both in front of him at least made him feel better for a moment then one man got back behind him grabbing at his backpack. "What ya got in here kid?" the man behind him asked yanking Mark's backpack off his shoulder.

"Stop that. Give that back!" Mark yelled trying to grab the bag back. At the same time though the man in front of him grabbed his arm and started manhandling Mark to search his pockets. "What kind of money you got kid?" Mark tried batting his hands away but it didn't do any good. Mark was just starting to really panic when he heard behind him a gravely voice he never thought he would be so glad to hear.

"You have exactly 2 seconds to step away from the kid before I shoot the both of you." Growled Gibbs with his gun drawn and pointed at the group. All three of them turned to find a very menacing looking Gibbs with his badge in one hand and his gun in the other.

Both men put their hands in the air and backed a step away from Mark. "Come here to me Mark" Gibbs barked. Mark did not have to be told twice. He grabbed his backpack from the dirty hands of the man who was behind him and jogged the few steps to Gibbs. Gibbs immediately took a step around Mark to place himself in front of him then said in a low growl, "grab the keys from my pocket, get in the car and lock the doors. DO NOT MOVE FROM THE CAR NO MATTER WHAT!" the last part being said in such a low growl it made the hair on the back of Mark's neck stand up. Doing exactly as he was told for probably the first time ever in his life, Mark grabbed the keys hanging partially out of Gibbs front pocket, all but ran to the car, got in and locked the door with his eyes glued on Gibbs and the two men.

Mark saw Gibbs approach the men without lowering his gun. He saw them exchange words but could not hear what was being said. He was tempted to roll down the window to listen but decided he had tempted fate one time too many tonight and he was going to sit right there exactly like Gibbs told him. Mark watched as the two men vehemently shook their heads up and down, as if trying hard to make sure Gibbs knew they were in agreement and then turned and ran away. The fear of what happened, what could have happened, and the fact that he was now safe hit Mark all at once and he started to tremble. He was having trouble catching his breath and he could feel the tears starting but he just could not seem to stop them. Mark couldn't stop thinking about what would have happened had Gibbs not found him.

Gibbs unlocked the car with the keypad on the door and got in ready to unleash all kinds of fury on Mark only to turn and see the kid's shoulders going up and down rapidly. The kid seemed to be trying to calm himself down but was only taking shallow breaths and quickly headed towards hyperventilating if he didn't stop.

"Mark, I need you to take deep breaths" Gibbs growled. Mark turned to look at Gibbs realizing for the first time he was in the car but instead of taking deep breaths the site of a very angry Gibbs only made Mark's breathing worse. The kid was practically radiating fear at this point and Gibbs knew he needed to get him calmed down.

Although Gibbs was not sure his voice actually did "soothing" he tried to curb his anger and push down the fear he felt when he pulled up on the scene, and find a more soothing tone to help Mark calm down. "Mark" he started in a tone he hoped sounded better to Mark than it did to him. "You need to calm down. You are going to make yourself sick if you do not start breathing more slowly. You need to take slow, deep breaths. It's ok, those guys are long gone and I am here. Everything is ok – I've got you. It's going to be ok." With that Gibbs could see Mark trying to better regulate his breathing. "That's it kid" Gibbs encouraged. "Slow and deep, keep breathing just like that."

Within a couple of minutes Mark started to feel better. He knew he was safe and Gibbs was here. He realized he wasn't just safe, but he actually felt safe… because Gibbs was here. He wasn't really sure what to think of that new revelation so he just tucked it away to worry about later.

Gibbs could see the kid was ok which meant it was time to head home. He knew Penny would be worried sick by now. Turning back towards the steering wheel Gibbs started the car. "We need to head home, your sister is probably wearing out the carpet pacing in worry right now." Gibbs said, his voice back to more of a growl.

Mark tried to find some anger to tap into so he could better respond but he couldn't. At least right now, at this moment, the anger was gone and he just felt bad. He felt bad for how he'd acted all night, bad that he ran away and worried his sister, bad that he had put himself and Gibbs in danger… Bowing his head and overly examining a piece of lint on his pants Mark mumbled, "I'm sorry Gibbs."

Gibbs glanced over at the kid and could tell he meant that apology. While Gibbs wasn't a big fan of apologies if there ever was a time for one it was now, and it appeared the one he had been given was sincere. Blowing out a breath he reached over and not so gently smacked the back of Mark's head getting his attention. "Don't you ever scare me like that again kid, you got me."

Looking up for a moment, Mark met Gibbs' eyes to respond, "yes sir" and then looked back down. Gibbs felt for the kid. It was one thing to be facing punishment when you were holding onto what you thought was righteous anger but it was a whole different ball game to be facing punishment when you were holding onto guilt. Neither was good but at least having Mark in a mind set that was not fueled by anger gave Gibbs hope the remaining part of the evening, while still going to suck, might at least move them forward a bit in helping Mark deal with his anger issues and accept the consequences to his actions.

Gibbs then reach back over and rubbed the back of Mark's head in the same spot he had smacked a moment ago, "It will be alright kid. I'm not going to lie to you, the rest of tonight is going to be unpleasant for the both of us, but we will get through it and tomorrow we will start fresh." At that Gibbs turned the car back towards Penny's house.

I'm sorry to end there but the chapter is getting too long. I promise in the next chapter Mark will be facing some very real, very painful consequences. Thanks for being patient with me while we got there…_
