Chapter 25
Surprise Surprise
Alaska stood up. Virginia was caught off guard by the fact that Alaska was a woman. Alaska walked up to her.
"Out of punches, little girl?" Alaska snickered. She picked Virginia up above her head by her chest-piece. "Too bad. It was fun for a while." Alaska's arm started glowing white, the same as her armor was before. She spun around and threw Virginia full force across the canyon. Virginia went flying. Just before Virginia hit the cliff side, high pressure flames shot out of her armor, slowing her a little. She hit the cliff with a thud, but she survived it.
"Fuel tanks: empty." Rho said. "Power failing, severe damage to outer armor. Sorry Virginia, I can't stay online much longer." Rho's voice faded. Virginia was scared and in pain, it felt like she had broken several ribs and maybe her arm. She couldn't move. Alaska started walking toward her.
Virginia heard a loud sound above her. She looked up, a pelican ship was landing in the middle of the battlefield. Alaska stopped and observed what was happening. The drop ship landed between Alaska and Virginia, then the door opened. Then someone walked out.
"That's enough, Alaska." Arizona shouted, walking out of the pelican.
"Stay out of this, Arizona! This is my mission!" Alaska shouted back.
"You have a new mission, we all do." Arizona looked back at Virginia. Alaska stopped.
"What the hell do you mean?"
"I mean we have new orders."
Alaska laughed. "Sorry, I didn't get the message." She charged at Arizona. Arizona pulled out his twin swords and swung, but Alaska dodged. She dipped away from another swipe and got behind him and wrapped her arm around his neck. He tried to reach his swords behind him to stop her but she moved out of the way each time, tightening her grip. Arizona dropped his swords then grabbed Alaska's head. Suddenly dropping to his knees, he smashed Alaska's already damaged faceplate against the top of his own helmet. Alaska backed off for a second, which gave Arizona enough time to swing his leg to trip her. She hit the ground hard, Arizona dove and her and punched her in the face again. Alaska's faceplate was now cracked all the way around with pieces of it completely broken off and missing.
"Having a little trouble seeing?" Arizona laughed. Alaska tried to get up but Arizona swiftly picked up one of his swords off the ground and swung it at her head. Alaska flinched as the sword barely touched a bit of exposed skin through her faceplate. Arizona flipped the switch on the hilt of his sword and it cracked with electricity. The electricity surged through Alaska's body and she passed out.
Arizona walked over to Virginia.
"Are you okay?" He asked her.
"I'm alive, but I don't think I can move." She said, struggling.
"Come on, we're going back to command." He helped her up and walked her to the pelican. After she was sat down, he got Alaska too. "I think things are gonna get pretty complicated now."
The pelican took off.
