Emma's Choice ch25
Hey guys, in a review Leanne asked me why I put 'believe in second chances' at the beginning of each chapter and 'never lose hope' at the end of it. The first one is that slogan that was put on Neal's promotional poster that was released just before episode 3x11, and the other phrase is sort of another theme of the show, that you shouldn't give up hope of a happy ending. I'm kind of just saying that we shouldn't give up hope that Neal is not going to die. There are so many reasons why he won't die, if you want I can write them out and post them on here.
With that said,
Believe in second chances.
Emma looked to the back of the room and saw Felix standing there, Emma pulled out her gun and aimed it at him, Felix immediately put his hands up in surrender
"What are you doing here?" she asked wearily,
"Whoa, I came to help. The same thing that's happening here happened in Neverland, I know what happened to your kids." Said Felix, Emma lowered her weapon an inch but still kept it ready, Charming drew his gun too but kept it at his side.
"What? What happened to my kids?" it was Hansel and Gretel's father who had spoken
"All the kids, those younger than fifteen, got transformed into flying monkeys, most of them as they were trying to leave Neverland, but some just out of nowhere. I believe that that is what's happening here. I tracked the witch here, I just want the boys back, I just want them free." Emma lowered her weapon completely and even holstered, Charming copied her.
"Emma what are you doing we can't trust this guy!" protested Neal
"Neal he's telling the truth, I can tell. He didn't come to hurt us." Said Emma
"But Emma!" Neal had been in one too many scrapes with this guy to let it go that easily
"Neal you once said that you trusted my judgment when it came to other people, is that true?" said Emma
"Yeah Emma I trust you, but I don't trust him!" said Neal
"Baelfire, please, everything I did to you in the past was because Pan ordered me to, I was scared of him. I never wanted to harm anyone! I just wanted to get away from my parents!" Neal didn't say anything else, Emma took that to mean that he had no other argument, for now. Emma turned back to Felix
"Alright, what do you know about the witch?" she asked him
"Unfortunately not much, I have never crossed paths with her before. Her name is Zelena, and her skin is green, and she prefers her army of flying monkeys to anything else." Said Felix, Charming interrupted him
"So she is recruiting for her army." He said as if to clarify
"Yes." Answered Felix
"And I'm gonna go out on a whim here and say that when they are transformed they don't have any memory of who they are, who their friends are and only have one thought coursing through their brain." Said Red
"I can't be sure about that, because no one who was transformed into a monkey has ever transformed back into human form so I don't know what it's like but that's a good guess. How did you know?" Felix asked her, Red looked uncomfortable for a second before answering
"Because it's the same as turning into a werewolf, at least it was like that before I could control it." She said
"Wait, you guys have a werewolf in this town?" asked Felix, pointing a finger at Red
"You got a problem with that?" interjected Hook, stepping in front of Red protectively
"No, not at all." Said Felix hurriedly
"Good." Said Hook. He stepped back and put an arm around Reds waist supportively.
"So when you turn into a flying monkey is the one thought coursing through, find the green lady?" asked Grumpy
"Probably, we have to keep a close eye on everyone younger then fifteen." Said Emma, turning to look at Henry, who was clearly scared but trying not to show it.
"It will be ok Henry, we'll figure this out." Said Emma, It was getting late, no one knew what else to say.
"Alright, we can't do anything tonight, we should all get some sleep now and face this tomorrow." Said Charming, everyone nodded and started to leave, soon it was just Emma, Neal, Charming, Snow, Henry and Felix left in the town hall.
"Uh, I don't have anywhere to stay, could I sleep here?" asked Felix
"You can stay with us." Said Snow Felix smiled and nodded.
"Alright, goodnight guys, be careful." Said Charming before he, Snow and Felix left. Henry had begun to fall asleep so Neal picked him up and carried him outside, Emma walking beside him. There was silence for a few blocks before Emma couldn't take it anymore
"I know you don't trust Felix, but I know he isn't lying and we needed answers." She said, Neal sighed
"You're right, I don't trust Felix… but I trust you, and if you say that we can go by what Felix says about this witch then I'm all for it." Neal smiled at Emma and she smiled back
"Thanks." She said, when they got home Neal took Henry upstairs and put him in bed, Emma went over and sat on the couch in the living room
"Alright, he should be good, I sealed the room with blood magic." Said Neal, Emma looked at him
"My dad did teach me a few things, as reluctant as I was to learn, I still remember most of it. If Henry turns into a monkey during the night he won't be able to leave his room." Said Neal
"But he's you're blood, won't he be able to break it?" asked Emma
"Yes he's my blood but although he may have it, he doesn't know how to uses magic, and in monkey form he'll know even less." Emma nodded
"And if he wakes up in the morning still human?" she asked
"Then I'll let him out when I wake up, don't worry I told him the plan before I sealed the room, he was still awake when I left. He was completely ok with it." Said Neal
"Alright." Said Emma, Neal smiled and inched closer to her.
"You know, we haven't had any alone time all day." He said, reaching over and pulling her across his lap.
"We've been busy all day." Said Emma before kissing Neal lightly on the lips, Neal pulled her closer and deepened the kiss before picking her up and carrying her upstairs.
"Henry's still awake." Said Emma as the passed Henry's door. Neal kicked at Henry's door, if Henry were awake he would have shouted out 'what?' but there wasn't a single sound coming from his room.
"All right then." Said Emma before kissing Neal again as he carried her into their room and laying her on the bed before carefully getting on top of her
