Coming to Light

Nate and Elena danced the night away at their reception. Their first dance seemed as magical as a fairy tale. The cake that Trish had made tasted better than it even looked. For a wedding that did have a chance in the beginning, it turned out to be more wonderful than either one of them could have imagined. But the best part wasn't the cake, or the champagne or the dancing—it was the fact that they were finally married, and no one could tear them asunder. Being man and wife...it was a feeling they couldn't describe. It felt different but in a phenomenal way.

Elena never thought that she would get this day. After all the obstacles that tried to hinder them from being together. She and Nate were kissing passionately was they busted into their romantic sweet above the ballroom. It was a classic wedding scene—rose petals on the bed, hot tub in the corner, and a bowl of chocolate-covered strawberries. There was also a large can of whipped cream on the nightstand to do with...well you know.

But none of that mattered to them, they were too wrapped up in one another. Literally. As Nate guided Elena to the bed, he slowly slid her dress from her shoulders. Elena, in response, quickly unbuttoned his jacket and shirt and ripped them from his body. Their passionate pants filled the room. Underneath her dress, Elena wore some sexy, lacy, white lingerie. A very short dress that level just as little to the imagination.

"God I want you." Nate panted into her ear.

"Then take me." she answered. And with that the two collapsed onto the bed. Nate pinned her down and began kissing her neck. Elena just let out sounds of pleasure. She ran her hands over his chest but stopped when she got to his stomach.

Nate stopped for a moment. "What's wrong?" he asked.

Elena shook her head. "Nothing. It's just weird seeing all your scars gone."

Nate sat up and looked at his shirtless body. "Yeah...I know it always bothered you. I'm glad you don't have to look at them anymore."

"It's just..." Elena began but Nate hushed her.

Nate took his hand and put it on her face. "Look at me, Elena." he said in a firm yet loving voice. "I'm right here. I'm just fine. I promise I won't ever leave you again."

Elena smiled at him. "Neither will I." she told him. "It's a brand new start for us." She suddenly got a mischievous look on her face. "Show me how much you love me." she said, biting her lip.

Nate grinned and pinned her back down on the bed. "You asked for it." he said playfully.

That night, the couple made some serious love, like, all over the hotel, cops are going to get called soon, love. And what made it all the better, they were making love as man and wife. Committed to one another always.

When the morning came, Elena was wrapped tightly in Nate's arms. They had fallen asleep that way. His arms never felt more like home. The couple was awoke by some loud knocking on the door. The two quickly scrambled out of bed, grabbing the two robes that were on the edge of the bed.

Nate grabbed the doorknob and opened it. There Vergil stood. "Vergil, this really isn't a good time." he said, wanting to take Elena once more.

Vergil threw his hands up in defeat. "I know, I know. Newlyweds do it 24/7. But I have a really thing to tell you." he said.

Elena walked up to the door, tying her robe together. "Is everything okay, Vergil?"

Vergil just walked into the room, seeing that everything was thrown all over the place. He nodded his head in approval. "Niiiiiiice." he said with a wink. Elena blushed and put a hand over her face.

"What are you doing here?" Nate said with aggravation.

Vergil answered by pulling Nate's black bloodstained shirt out of the back of his jeans. Nate took it in his hands.

"Okay...is there a reason you have my bloodied shirt casually tucked in your pants?" Nate asked, wondering what the hell was going on.

Vergil pointed at the shirt. "That shirt told me everything."

Nate and Elena looked at the shirt then to one another. "Everything what?" Nate asked, growing irritated.

Vergil sighed and ran his fingers through his long, blond hair. "Sully told me about you. About how you didn't have much of parents growing up and that you don't know anything about your childhood."

Nate shot him an angry look. "Point being?" he asked, throwing the shirt into Vergil's face. He didn't like thinking about any of that. He figured his life didn't really start being relevant until he met Sully. As far as he was concerned, Sully was his father and his shitty childhood was all just a bad dream.

Vergil took the shirt from his face and went on. "When I was younger, I was in a car accident with my parents and my brother. I was told that all of them were killed on impact and I was the only survivor. After that I went to orphanage to orphanage trying to find a stable home...never knowing how I am."

Nate rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry your childhood days were shit like mine, but what the hell do you want me to do about it?"

"I found it odd that both of us had lost our parents and at the same age." Vergil said.

"Seven." Nate and Vergil said in unison. Nate looked up at Vergil.

"Exactly." Vergil said, pointing at him. "The coroners were only able to find my mother and father...not my older brother."

Nate narrowed his eyes at him. "What are you getting at, Vergil?" Nate asked him.

Vergil pulled some papers out of his back pocket he walked over to Nate and handed them to him. "I'm saying...that you, Nathan Drake...are my brother."

Elena had a look of total shock on her face. "Vergil...are you sure?" She asked.

"It's all there in those papers." He said to her.

Nate felt himself becoming enraged, he didn't even glance at the papers in his hands. "Get. Out." he said in a seething voice that was eerily calm.

Vergil was thrown by his reaction. "Hey, I know you're upset but-"

"This isn't some goddamn game, Vergil!" Nate screamed at him. "You this isn't a funny prank you thought up!"

"Nate..." Elena began.

"No, Elena." Nate snapped back. "He's gone to far this time." he said, throwing the papers down and storming out of the room, to the den of the hotel room, slamming the door hard behind him.

Vergil just scoffed and went for the door. "I don't know why the hell I even bothered."

"Vergil, you can leave." Elena told him. "Let me talk to him." she insisted.

"Thanks, sis." he called her. "But he won't accept it until he confronts his past. Until then, I'm giving him space. You let me know when he grows the hell up." he said, slamming the door closed behind him.

Elena sighed and grabbed her hair. What a mess. She knelt down and grabbed the papers from the floor that Nate had thrown down. She looked to see if this was a prank in fact, or Vergil telling the truth. When she saw the answer she gasped in shock and slowly sat down.

"Oh my God..." she said softly to herself. "He was telling the truth..."

"Vergil is Nate's brother."
