Spencer asked Emily out on a date, but not really a date, just two friends going to the Homecoming Dance together, but really secretly a date.

Ch. 25 – Double Whammy

Emily's POV – Aria's Bedroom

Spencer and I came running over after I got the S.O.S from Hanna. Well, I came running over. Spencer was a little hesitant since I told her Hanna would be here. But I convinced her it was time for the two of them to make up.

Spencer's got a death-grip on my arm as I slowly open the door to Aria's bedroom.

"Aria, Hanna?" I whisper as I open the door.

"Em?" Hanna smiles back at me.

Hanna's sitting on the floor, her arms wrapped around Aria. Aria's eyes are red, wet and puffy, from what I can only assume has been a lot of crying.

Suddenly, Spencer lets go of my arm and she's instantly next to Aria, wrapping her arms around the tiny brunette and Hanna too. It's like an Aria sandwich.

"What's wrong Pumpkin?" Spencer asks her softly.

Aria doesn't answer. She quickly glances at me and then looks back to Spencer. I'm not sure why that bothered me so much, but it just felt like Aria was almost glaring at me.

Spencer kisses Aria on the top of the head and squeezes her tight.

A pang of jealousy fleetingly runs through my body, but I realize I'm just being stupid. Spencer's just comforting her best friend.

"Pumpkin... tell me what's wrong," Spencer urges.

After sniffling a few times, Aria finally answers.

"I broke up with Ezra," Aria whimpers.

"What happened?" Spencer asks, gently stroking Aria's hair, while Hanna strokes Aria's arm. Surprisingly, Hanna hasn't stood up to get away from Spencer, considering their little rift.

"I don't love him," Aria admits. "I thought I did, but I was wrong."

That's weird, I think. If she didn't love him and she broke up with him, why all the tears? I want to ask, but I don't want to pry. She's already pretty upset, the last thing I want to do is make things worse.

"Hey, don't worry, Aria, you'll find your soul mate someday," I tell her encouragingly.

Aria doesn't answer, she just sniffles into Spencer's shoulder. I guess it was too soon to say that. Now I feel like an idiot.

The only thing I can think of doing is giving Aria a hug too. I walk over and wrap my arms around all the girls and give Aria a kiss on the forehead.

"It'll be alright," I soothe.

Emily's POV – Emily's bedroom (2 days Later)

It's been two days since Aria told us she broke up with Ezra and to be honest I think it helped all of us get back to being friends again.

Ever since then Spencer and Hanna have started talking again, though with lots of tension. Aria remains quieter than normal, but that's to be expected since she just broke up.

Everyone's in my room talking about the latest gossip. Hanna's curled up next to me in my bed, and Spencer's braiding Aria's hair, or whatever she's trying to do to Aria's hair. I'm not sure you could call it braiding, but I'm not about to tell Spencer that.

"So Hanna, rumour has it, you've said 'no' to every guy who's asked you out to Homecoming," Aria mentions, while sucking on a lollipop.

"Rumour's right," Hanna says nonchalantly, while playing with my hair.

"Still waiting for Mr. Right?" I ask nervously. The way Hanna keeps running her hands through my hair and her fingertips along my arm is extremely distracting, not to mention electric. Ever since she sleep-sexed me, it's been hard to be around Hanna without thinking about that night.

"Something like that," Hanna brushes off, as she lays her head on my shoulder. There she goes again with all the touching, snuggling and just all around close body contact.

"How are you going to win Homecoming Queen if you don't have a date?" Spencer asks.

"I don't need a man to win Homecoming Queen," Hanna argues.

"High-school kids are like lemmings. They won't vote for you to be Homecoming Queen unless you have a hunk attached at your hip," Spencer points out.

"Lemmings don't vote," Hanna counters.

"It was a metaphor," Spencer sighs.

"Doesn't matter. I was gonna ask Em if she wanted to be my date," Hanna smiles, as she squeezes my arm.

"Wait, what?" I ask, confused and blushing at the same time.

"Yeah, you wanna be my date?" Hanna beams at me with those beautiful blue eyes. God she looks so adorable, which totally throws me off balance.

"Um, I'm... actually..." I ramble nervously before Spencer interrupts.

"What Emily's trying to say is that she's actually already taken. She's 'my' date for Homecoming," Spencer says smoothly, emphasizing the word 'my' a little too much.

"What?" Hanna and Aria scream at the same time, as Hanna crushes my arm with both her hands.

A/N: Thanks for the feedback everyone! The slow build up to Homecoming is killing everyone I'm sure. But it'll be worth it. Homecoming is going to be at least 2 chapters long, probably more, just because of all the 'crazy' I have planned. :)

Guest 11/23 to 11/24 – Hahaha. Thanks for all the feedback! Yeah, Spencer probably would've freaked out if she knew what Hanna did to Emily in the stall. Spencer and Hanna are in the same room now and some fireworks are going to happen. Don't worry about not knowing who to ship, they're all good. I think Spencer would react like anyone would react to seeing Em naked - Mouth on the floor. :) Glad you enjoy the competition between Hanna and Spencer, it's gonna heat up soon. And there will be more 'intimate' contact coming. Lol.
