PLEASE NOTE THAT THE STUFF BELOW WAS WRITTEN YESTERDAY, NOT TODAY. but I couldn't upload bc for some reason it came up with an error.

Okay. My dad got back from the hospital a couple of days as he's not badly hurt, he has a broken sternum but apparently the only thing you can do for it is to wait for it to heal and avoid moving too much. He's okay and we've got a hire car and stuff now as our old one is currently wrapped around another one like a pretzel. So yeah, everything's good. Here's another chapter; I wasn't sure whether or not to update so soon but it's my 16th birthday today so I thought it was a good enough excuse to post another chapter ;) Thank you all for your wonderful supportive reviews. You guys are all so lovely! x

Also, wildcitrsusunflower, thankyou for pointing that out! I didn't really think about that when I wrote it. I just became a bit negligent while trying to make the chapter a little more dramatic. :( So yeah, please forgive me for that mistake. Let's assume she had a drink (or several) sometime between then and now. I'm sorry!

Matt was still sitting there, watching Jenna close her eyes and try to get to sleep when the bell rang. Jenna frowned, sitting up. 'So much for getting some sleep.' She said, moving to get up.

'No, no, I'll get it.' Matt said, walking out of the room. He could hear Jenna getting up anyway and he sighed.

He opened the door and was met by a smiling blond man with blue eyes.

'Hi.' He said. 'Who are you?' He stretched out his hand and the blond man took it, shaking it.

'I'm Daniel. Jenna's boyfriend. You must be Matt. She's told me all about you. What are you doing here?'

A moment of shock made Matt freeze and he prayed Daniel hadn't noticed. A slow, burning anger filled him and he could feel his body tensing. But he knew he couldn't give away the fact that he knew or Jenna might get hurt again. He felt torn.

'Hi, Daniel.' He said, loud enough for Jenna, who had followed him, to hear. He glanced over his shoulder to the doorway where she was cowering. She shook her head imploringly, miming zipping her lips.

'I'm not sure where Jenna is; I think she's in bed right now. She said she wasn't feeling well but you were out and she needed someone to do a few chores for her, I hope you don't mind. She's asleep right now, though. I wouldn't disturb her.'

Daniel shook his head. 'Oh, it's quite all right. I won't be loud. She won't mind.'

I rather think she will.

Matt heard Jenna's footsteps quietly head back towards the bedroom.

'I'm – I'm not sure.' He frowned, scratching his head. 'She's really quite sick at the moment.'

Daniel gave him a look. Matt thought he might have missed the point of it as he was busy pondering ways in which he could subtly punch the man in the face.

Probably none; he concluded.

'Look, mate;' Daniel said, and Matt cringed at the use of the word 'mate'.

'I really would like to see my own girlfriend. So if you could just let me in...' He pushed past Matt into the hallway. 'Jenna?' He called. 'Jenna, honey? Are you okay?'

Matt felt sick at the false sweetness to his tone. Gritting his teeth, he turned to say something but Daniel didn't give him a chance to speak.

'I think you ought to head back.' Daniel told him. 'I'm here now. You don't need to worry.' With a smile plastered onto his face Daniel nudged Matt towards the door.

Matt was burning with the desire to do something, anything, but he knew that if he even hinted at knowing what Daniel had done to Jenna then she was the one who'd get punished. Swearing inwardly he turned on his heel and walked out of the door, stopping himself from slamming it behind him at the last moment.

As soon as the door closed he raked his hands through the small amount of hair growing back on his head. He knew that, at the moment, Jenna was having to deal with Daniel by herself and he wanted more than anything to go in and help her. He resigned himself to waiting; went down to the parking lot and sat in his car. He put on the radio and told himself that if Daniel didn't leave of his own volition within the next hour then he would go up and do something. He prayed that he wouldn't have to break his promise to Jenna and that Daniel would leave soon enough but he was prepared to do whatever it took to keep her safe. He would make sure that Daniel never touched her again.

An hour elapsed faster than he would have thought possible, sitting bored in a car.

He got out with a grim expression and slowly re-entered the building. On his way up the stairs he wondered what he would do if nobody answered. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

He knocked on the door sharply, ringing the bell for good measure. To his relief it swung open and he was met again by Daniel, this time on opposite sides of the door. He pushed past roughly before the door could close again.

'What do you think you're doing?' Daniel asked incredulously. 'You can't just barge in like that-'

'Where's Jenna?'

'I'm sorry?'

'Where is she? I need to see her.'

'You love her, don't you?'

The sudden statement made Matt pause.

'What?'

'You love her.'

'I don't know what you mean.'

'I'm warning you. She's not worth it. Have you seen her?'

Matt took a deep breath, struggling to compose himself.

'Jenna is worth the world. And if you don't see that, then you're a fool.'

He walked through the living room, to her bedroom. She was sitting on the bed, hair hanging forwards over her face. At the sound of his footsteps she let out a whimper and threw her arms up in front of her. 'Please-' She whispered. 'Please don't, Daniel-'

'It's me, Jenna. It's Matt.'

At the sound of his voice she looked up and he saw that she'd been crying again, fresh tears on her cheeks. 'What did he do to you?'

'Nothing yet, but he's so angry, Matt, where did he go? Did he leave?'

A voice from behind Matt interrupted.

'I'm still right here.' The words sounded incredibly sinister.

'Well,' Matt said firmly. 'I think it's time for you to leave now.'

Daniel ignored him. 'You told him, didn't you?' His face twisted in anger as he turned towards Jenna. 'You bitch.'

Matt felt a wave of anger sweep over him, brighter and hotter than a flame, and he stepped in front of Daniel.

'Don't talk to Jenna like that.'

Daniel sneered into his face. 'I don't think you can stop me. She's told you what I've done, hasn't she? You know what I've done to her. What I can still do to her. And there's nothing you can do to-'

His words were cut off as Matt's fist slammed into his mouth.

Surprised, Matt stared at his hand as if it were someone else's.

His knuckles stung slightly but he shook away the pain; squaring up as if he was in a boxing ring, he stared into Daniel's ice-blue eyes.

He watched as anger bloomed within them; a cold, quiet fury.

Before Daniel could make a move, Matt grabbed the front of his jacket; pushed him backwards and slammed him into the wall. He felt relieved he'd hit the gym and bulked up for his next role in TV.

'You need to stay away from Jenna.' He told Daniel, a dark edge to his voice. 'Forever. If I ever hear that you've hurt her again, in any way, I will come for you.' He fought down the emotion that threatened to make him lose control.

'Walk away now.' He said. 'Before I do something really stupid.'

He slowly relaxed his hands, watching as they came away from the other man's jacket. Daniel straightened up, brushing down his clothes. He opened his mouth as if to say something; then turned, walking away. A moment later, Matt heard him open the door and walk out before slamming it behind him.

The tension drained from his body; legs suddenly feeling weak, he stumbled back and sank down onto the bed. He jumped as he felt Jenna's hand touch his shoulder.

'Matt? Are you all right?'

'Yeah, yeah, fine.' He muttered. 'Just surprised at myself, really.' He turned to face her.
'What about you?' He asked. 'You're the one who had to deal with him for an hour.'

'I'm okay. He didn't...do anything.' She smiled softly. 'You came just in time.' She told him. 'He was just about to start on me for being a "slut". I'd thought I'd seen the last of him. Apparently not.'

Matt frowned. 'Well, he'd better not be coming back again.'

Jenna sighed, rubbing her forehead tiredly. 'It doesn't matter. What matters is that you helped me. Again.' It was her turn to frown. 'I wish you wouldn't. It's all so one-sided. You always help me, and I just bring you down.' She looked away. 'I'm sorry.'

Matt sighed, gently putting his hand to her face and turning it so she was looking at him once more.

'Jenna. You don't bring me down.' He took both of her hands in his; looked down at their interlocked fingers. 'Helping you isn't a burden. It's a privilege. I'm happy that I get to be the one to make you better.'

He glanced up and their eyes locked; green against brown. He cleared his throat nervously. A sense of anxious anticipation was curling through his veins; he hesitated before continuing.

'Listen, I know you're not perfect.' He said. 'But you're perfect to me. Don't you understand? I can see your flaws just as well as you, but to me, they make no difference because you are the purest, kindest, most beautiful person I've ever met. Everything you've gone through could have turned you into a bitter, angry person, but you've remained sweet and warm-hearted and lovely. And that is why, to me, you'll always be the person I – the person who matters the most.'
