It was a couple of days later and Lucy still hadn't told anyone about her period. She had been able to just use toilet roll but it was a bit disgusting. She just couldn't tell anyone, it was all too embarrassing.

She got up this morning and quickly ran to the bathroom. She quickly started herself out, thank god her mum left feminine wipes in the bathroom. She just had to work out how to get them down the stairs. She didn't think her mum would believe that she had another nose bleed so she just had to sneak down the stairs again. Luckily she managed to get down without anyone seeing her and she quickly hid them in the bin before disappear to finish getting ready.

Once she was ready, she went back down the stairs to have her breakfast. Eryn came down too and they both sat eating in silence. Zoe was running about mad as she was running late. Soon they were in the car and heading to school.

"Lucy" Zoe said as her daughter stared out the window.

"Lucy" Zoe said again. This time Eryn turned around and hit her sister gently in the leg to get her attention.

"What?" She snapped.

"God, I only was going to ask if you are okay. You seem really dazed and dreamy today" Zoe said.

"I'm fine" Emma snapped again. Zoe and Eryn just looked at each other and decided to leave it.

They arrived at school and both girls jumped out the car. They walked into the school and then split up to go and find their friend groups.

The school day went quickly and soon the girls walked home. They arrived home and Lucy disappeared up the stairs to her room. Eryn also went up the stairs to get changed before shortly coming back down.

"Mum, can you get me new pads just because I'm due in a week or so? I thought I had one left but I don't" Eryn said and Zoe nodded.

"I always have one left so I don't know what. I might have used it and just forgotten about it" Eryn said and Zoe nodded.

"That's a weird one. Maybe you gave it to a friend by accident and just forgot" Zoe said and Eryn nodded.

"I probably did" Eryn said and Zoe nodded.

Eryn then disappeared back up the stairs and did some homework in her room.

"Girls, I'm going away to wash my car and do the shopping. I'll be back in about an hour" Zoe shouted and both girls shouted back in reply.

Eryn decided to go through her underwear drawer one more time to check if her pad was there. She looked through and their definitely wasn't one there. She sighed, who could have taken it? Suddenly it clicked, what if Lucy had taken it? Eryn walked to her sister's room. She knocked and walked in.

"Lucy, did you take a pad from my room" Eryn asked. Lucy quickly looked away.

"No" She said but Eryn could tell she was lying.

"Luc, come here" Eryn asked sitting on her sister's bed. Lucy didn't move from the floor. Eryn slip down onto the ground.

"Lucy, look at me and just tell the truth. All you have to do is nod or shake your head" Eryn said gently. "Have you started your period?"

Lucy hesitated. She just wanted to cry. She couldn't lie to her sister so she just nodded her head before bursting into tears.

"Oh Lucy Lou" Eryn said pulling her sister into her arms.

"I'm sorry" Lucy said as Eryn rocked her sister in her arms. Eryn held her sister until Lucy had stopped crying and Eryn pulled her away slightly.

"Why didn't you say anything" Eryn asked.

"I couldn't, it was too embarrassing" Lucy said.

"Oh Lucy, you could have told me earlier. I could have helped" Eryn said. "What have you been using?"

"Just toilet roll" Lucy said.

"Oh baby, you have to tell mum" Eryn said and Lucy shook her head.

"No, I'll tell her next time. It's nearly done now" Lucy said and Eryn raised her eyebrow.

"Please tell mum" Eryn said and Lucy shook her head.

"Please don't tell her. I will tell her next time" Lucy said again.

"Are you sure?" Eryn said and Lucy nodded.

"I promise, I will tell her next time" Lucy said and Eryn nodded.

"As look as you do" Eryn said "And if you don't tell her, I will"

Lucy nodded.

"Oh come here, you silly girl" Eryn said and Lucy cuddled up with her sister.

"Can you wash my pants because I have some which are really dirty" Lucy asked quietly and Eryn nodded.

"Give them here then" Eryn said and Lucy got up and gave them to her sister.

"I think I'll have to bin these but the rest should come out" Eryn said and Lucy nodded.

"Don't let mum see" Lucy said and Eryn nodded.

"I wouldn't" Eryn said as she disappeared down the stairs to get them into the wash with some of her clothes too so it looked less suspicious.

Eryn then called Lucy down the stairs.

"I don't have any pads, I'm sorry so you are just going to have to continue using toilet roll unless mum gets me more today" Eryn said and Lucy nodded.

"It's fine, it's really light anyway" Lucy said and Eryn nodded.

"I still can't believe you didn't tell anyone" Eryn said. "Even I told mum once I started. I cried in the toilet begging Alannah to get mum"

They both laughed.

"It was quite scary at the start" Lucy said.

"So why didn't you tell me?" Eryn asked.

"I was going to tell you, when I asked for paracetamol but then I backed out. I just couldn't do it" Lucy said and Eryn felt bad.

"I should have been nicer so that you felt you could talk to me" Eryn said and Lucy shook her head.

"No, it's nothing to do with that. I love you and trust you, it was just something I couldn't tell anyone. I didn't know which words to use to tell anyone" Lucy said and Eryn nodded hugging Lucy again.

"Is mum going to be angry that I didn't tell her" Lucy asked.

"Oh sweetie no, I think she will be upset that you didn't tell her" Eryn said.

"I don't want her to be upset" Lucy said crying.

"Hey, it's okay. Why don't we tell her together" Eryn asked and Lucy nodded her head.

"I feel really bad that I haven't told her" Lucy said and Eryn nodded.

"It's okay sweetie" Eryn said.

"Do you want to tell her tonight or tomorrow?" Eryn asked.

"Em, tomorrow" Lucy said and Eryn nodded.

"We'll sit down for a movie afternoon and then we can tell her" Eryn said and Lucy nodded.

"Eryn, how do you know if your period has finished?" Lucy asked.

"Em you stop bleeding" Eryn said unsure of what she was meaning.

"Does it go brown?" Lucy asked and Eryn nodded.

"It can, that usually means that your body is just flushing out the old blood" Eryn said and Lucy nodded.

"It's only been 3 days" Lucy said.

"Yeah that's fine, it can be that short especially as it is just your first and they tend to be lighter anyway" Eryn said and Lucy nodded. She was just nervous but it was slightly easier to talk to Eryn about this than she thought it was going to.

She wasn't completely sure if she was differently going to tell her mum in the morning as her period was nearly finished but she still felt bad. What if this really upset her mum?

They were still talking when Zoe walked in. She just looked at them and then decided to let them carry on talking while she unpacked.

"So girls what do you want to do tonight?" Zoe asked.

"I fancy a cuddle up on the sofa" Lucy said and Zoe nodded.

"I'd like that" Zoe said smiling. She was not expecting Lucy to say that. They quickly got tidied up before getting changed into their jammies and cuddled up on the sofa. Before they knew it Lucy was completely onto of Zoe lying on her like a baby.

"You are in a very cuddly mood" Zoe said and Lucy just nodded.

"I just want my mum" Lucy said.

"Is there a reason you want me" Zoe asked

"No, I just want you" Lucy said and Zoe nodded cuddling her youngest closer to her
