AN: I won't lie, I had a little more free time this week so I decided to write this up. Also I posted my oneshot on Easter, it's called Freedom For anyone that is curious. Either way I'll let you guys read now.

The next week consisted of the same schedule. Toothless and I would go to the smithy and work until dark. Gobber would bring me meals and the guards were always within eyesight. I did make myself the Gladius (Type of sword) though, but I haven't had any time to test it. But today I'm going to change up my schedule up a bit, even if I didn't want to.

We were walking to the mead hall for lunch because Toothless insisted that we should "Do we really have to?" I asked her feeling nervous. She nodded her head "Hiccup, nothing will get done if we stay in that god forsaken building."

"Hey, I love that god forsaken building." I defended. She rolled her eyes before smirking "I guess you do look pretty hot swinging that hammer." I started to blush "Toothless!" She started to laugh and pressed her head up on my side "I'm just messing with you… but you do look pretty attractive though." She said with a purr while winking at me. I let out a little laugh before rolling my eyes "Lets just get some food you mischievous lizard."

We were at the door and took a deep breath before entering. The room went silent almost instantly and we got a number of looks. I looked back at Toothless who nudged me forward 'We're going to die in here.' I thought before walking to where the food was 'Don't be so negative, no one has their weapons out.' Toothless said trying to comfort me.

Well I guess she wasn't wrong. I grabbed myself some fish and bread before walking over to the table that I always sit at. The room was still staring at me "Unless you want to come over quit staring." I looked over to see Astrid along with the others sitting down with me. Everyone turned away back to their little groups.

"Thanks." I told her before taking a bite of my fish "No problem, they were starting to annoy me as well." I smiled before continuing to eat. After a couple of minutes of silence Snotlout spoke up "So, when will we be able to bring our dragons?" I looked over at him and opened my mouth just to close it and think "I… honestly don't know, I mean not everyone likes Toothless yet so what do you think four more dragons will do?" He mumbled in agreement.

"But I do want to get them here as well I just… I don't know how." I explained to them "Don't worry Hiccup, we can always visit them." Astrid said putting her hand on my shoulder. I nodded "I know it's just, I'm really worried." I told them truthfully "Every time we go to sleep I'm scared someone will try to hurt Toothless or I. Every time we walk around the village I feel like we're going to get jumped." I told them expressing my fears.

She punched me on the arm lightly "You should really try and not to worry so much Hiccup. No one would think of actually trying to hurting you unless they had a death wish." She told me gesturing to Toothless and my dad who was eating by some of his friends "I've been trying to tell him this all week." Toothless muttered behind me.

"I'll try my hardest but you can't blame me for being worried." I felt something lightly hit me in the head. I turned to see Toothless pulling her tail back "Yes we can. As long as I'm around no harm will come of us so quite worrying so much." She said looking me in the eye. I turned back to my food and took a bite "Whatever you say." I muttered before taking another bite.

I finished my meal shortly after and I watched as my dad started to walk over to me with a couple of villagers behind him. I stood up and put myself in front of Toothless. When he got over to me gestured to the villagers "I was telling them that progress would go faster if a couple of volunteers were to… accept a dragon partner." He said gesturing his head towards the teens.

My eyes widened as I looked at them as well "Well yes it would… but I would need some volunteers." They quickly understood and Astrid stood up "We'll do it." My dad turned back to the villagers he was with "So, is this something that could be negotiated into the deal?" He asked them.

They all started to talk amongst themselves and within minutes the entire mead hall was talking with each other. I nudged Toothless and brought us a little further from the big group. I leaned up on the wall while patting Toothless on the head "This may take a while." I told her while watching the crowd argue amongst itself.

After about good ten minutes the room started to quiet down. I watched my dad talk with several villagers before nodding and gesturing me over. I walked over to him and he spoke up so the room could hear "We have come to a decision, if anyone is willing to volunteer Hiccup will attempt to match you with a dragon counterpart."

The teens accepted almost immediately. A sizable amount of people said that they wanted to watch as I worked with them. Out of the corner of my eye I watched one of my guards walk up to my dad and whisper in his ear. His eyes widened and he looked over at me "Well it seems that your guards are convinced." I was kinda surprised but I didn't object.

I cleared my throat before speaking up "Later today at the ring I will be with everyone that has volunteered." I said informing everyone. I walked over to Astrid and whispered in her ear "Go get the dragons and bring them to the arena… unnoticed." She nodded her head and gestured the teen to follow her.

As soon as they left people surrounded me asking me questions about dragons. I started to feel claustrophobic and began to panic as more people closed in on me. I heard a short roar and everyone backed away. Toothless came up on my side looking up at me 'You alright?' I nodded.

I took a deep breath "If anyone had question I will be at the arena later. That's when I'll answer questions alright?" They all agreed while still keeping an eye on Toothless. I patted her on the head before heading to the exit "No one will ask him questions until tonight." I heard my dad say before I left.

I made it to the smithy and walked inside to find Gobber working "So how did that mess go?" He asked not looking away from the axe he was sharpening "Surprisingly good, I think people are starting to see." He pulled the axe away and was checking the edge "That's good…"

I could hear that his voice was off a little "Gobber… what is it?" He twiddled his thumbs "Well, I was wondering if maybe… you could maybe pair me up with a dragon?" That was not at all what I was expecting to come out of his mouth. After all, Gobber is probably one of the best dragon killers next to my dad. I guess I am good at changing people.

"Of course Gobber… come with me to the arena later on and I will show you what you need to know." I said happy that he was one of the few that would join me "From what I can see with her, you two just… make one another happy." I smiled a little 'If only he knew' I thought looking over at Toothless. She smiled back knowing what I was thinking even without the bond. I grabbed a dagger and started to sharpen it with the smile still on my face.

After about two hours I told Gobber that I was going to go to the arena. We put everything away before leaving. As soon as we started to walk in the direction of the arena people started to follow us. I peered behind us at the crowd "Don't worry about them Hic, we'll be fine." Toothless said beside me "I know." Gobber looked at me weirdly and I realized what I did 'Whoops'

When we got there it took about five minutes until the arena was full of people and everyone that wanted a partner was in the ring. Gobber went over with them after I told him to. I looked at the little group of people "The number one thing to training a dragon is knowing that you both are trying train one another. A dragon is not dumber or less intelligent than you, if fact you are equals. That is one of the most important things to know."

The crowd at this point had gone quiet and I started to get nervous. Toothless nudged me "Remember, I'm right by your side." I smiled and nodded "The next thing is that both sides require trust. You trust they won't burn you and they trust that you won't chop them." They all nodded and that's when I realized that they didn't have weapons. The teens must have told them to not bring weapons.

I looked at the teens "They have already had experience with dragons and they are the only ones with dragons right now so the rest of you will have to watch." The crowd started to talk when I said that they had experience. I pulled the master switch releasing all of the dragons. I watched people reach for their weapons but all stopped when the teens rushed to greet their dragons.

I waved the others over to me "So, select the type of dragon that you like and go stand near them." It was almost an even break for what people wanted. But Gobber stayed by me looking at the dragons "I would advise a nadder." I said whispered over to him. He shrugged "I dunno Hiccup, how can I decide what type of dragon to choose when I have no idea of their personalities?"

I smiled a bit "You know what Gobber you're right. I honestly don't think any of these breeds suit you." He looked at me confused "Really?" I nodded "You can learn from me." He smiled before patting me on the shoulder "Thank you." I nodded before walking over to the group.

"The first step is trust, stick out your hand and look away. This is the ultimate sign of trust in the dragon's eyes." I got multiple looks of disapproval except for Gobber and the villager that I had with the demonstration. I gestured for everyone to try. Everyone did as I said and Gobber did it with Toothless. After it was all over they all stared at the dragons with wide eyes, including the people on the outside.

I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear "You guys take over and tell them about your dragons." I told the teens. I turned to Gobber "As for you, go with Fishlegs. I think you will like a boulder class." He nodded and went over to them. I sighed and looked up at the spectators. They were going ballistic amongst themselves.

I chuckled "You know Tooth, this is working a lot better than I hoped." She hummed in agreement "And you were worried." I slowly shook my head watching the teens explain what their dragons liked "Just a little bit more and maybe we can end this." I told her knowing that we were close "I hope so."

For the next hour the teens taught them about their dragons. Then I decided that a little demonstration was in order so I waved the teens over while keeping the rest on the other side. I looked up at the people "Now I bet you are all wondering why there are saddle on these dragons right? Well it's exactly what you think, right in front of you are dragon riders."

Once again the crowd exploded which didn't even phase me at this point "So I will show the best proof of peace that I have, the act of flying. It requires the ultimate level of trust to fly." I looked over at the teens and gestured them to saddle up "So how about a little air show?"

Gobber was sitting by the gate and realized what I said and opened it. They all flew past me and up into the air "Are we going as well?" I looked at Toothless and shook my head no "Not now, maybe tonight though." I said walking out of the ring. People were losing it as I came out.

The teens were flying around above the bridge to the arena as I spoke "The ability of flight can do wonders for both sides. Fishing, travel, moving items… the list is limitless." I said gesturing to them "Just imagine, no fighting, no death, and we might even get a plus from this. There is no negative to this situation."

Some people started to agree with what I was saying as soon as I said it "But to make this possible I will need the full trust of the entire village. I have already shown you all that they are not just some animal, but intelligent beings." I heard more people start to join in with me and before I knew it had tons of people agreeing with me and willing to try. I was shocked at how fast that I was able to convince them. Of course there were still some that disagreed but the people who were accepting outnumbered them greatly.

The teens landed and people swarmed them asking questions. I along with them was also surrounded being asked questions that I was happily answering. After all if this would help them accept dragons I would answer questions all day if I had to.

But as time went along my father stepped in "At dinner we will have a mass vote on whether to accept dragons into the or not, ad to try and make peace with them. It will be secret vote so that your opinion won't be influenced. Though I will say that if this doesn't prove that peace is possible… I don't know what would." People agreed with him. Of course there were a couple of people that disagreed but that was to be expected.

I was asked questions until it started to get around dusk and then people wanted food. I told everyone that I was done with questions and went over to my dad "Hey dad, is it alright if I have Toothless and I stay you know where tonight. I'll check in tomorrow to see the vote results." He told me that it was ok.

"Hiccup will be staying in a safe environment while the vote takes place is that acceptable?" He asked everyone. No one objected so I hopped on Toothless "Come on let's get out of here." I told her before taking off. The teen's dragons followed us as we flew back to the cove.

Within minutes the cove came into view and we landed. I looked around and saw my mom tending to a fire. She looked over at me with a surprised look "What are you doing here?" I shrugged while walking over to her "I needed a break from all of… that." I said pointing behind me. She hummed "I bet."

She offered me a fish and I gladly accepted. She also gave a couple of them to Toothless "Soo… how is it going with the village?" I looked up after taking a bite "Surprisingly good, people were almost… eager to watch me." She shook he head "I can't believe that you were actually able to convince them." I put up my hand "Well they're taking a vote right now so don't jinx it." I told her. I did feel confident that the village would vote yes but I couldn't be too sure.

"So uh… can we go flying?" I heard Toothless ask after she finished her meal. I looked over at her and nodded "I suppose that I've neglected you enough." I said looking over at my mom who was looking at me confused "We're going on a flight, haven't had the chance all week." She opened her mouth in an O "Ok, I'll see you two later tonight then."

I hopped on Toothless and we took to the sky. She took us in the direction of the ocean "So… anywhere particular that we are going?" I asked her. I felt her shrug under me "Not really… figured we would just fly." I hummed in agreement, then I got an idea.

"You know Tooth… you haven't really shown me how fast you can actually go." I said to her. She picked up on what I was saying and started to fly upwards "Well… I guess I'm going to have to fix that aren't I?" She said now flying almost straight up. After a minute Berk looked no bigger than a boot or axe head.

"I would highly advise holding on tightly." I did just that as I leaned close onto the saddle and gripped the sides tightly. I felt her start to tip forward and within seconds we were diving at incredible speeds. I couldn't help but laugh as the ground started to come up closer.

As we were nearing the ground I saw a maze of sea stacks off to the side 'Are you thinking what I'm thinking?' She said mentally. I started to laugh even harder 'Oh ya… let's do it.' I replied with a grin plastered on my face. She angled the dive towards the sea stacks and opened her wings to slow us down a bit.

We were gliding across the tips of the pine trees on a hill and then we were in the maze. Almost as if someone kicked on a switch I started to steer Toothless through it. Left. Right. Right. Sideways. We finished off with a roll through a hole in one of the stacks.

"YAAA!" I threw my arms up in the air and Toothless shot a weak plasma shot that exploded only meters in front of us. I shielded my face instinctively even though I was fire proof. We continued to slow down and I couldn't get the smile to leave my face "That. Was. AWESOME!" I yelled out leaning back on Toothless.

She chuckled under me "At least I know now that you don't get movement sickness." We flew up higher once more and that when I got another crazy idea… even crazier than what I have already done "You want to have a little trust exercise Tooth?" I asked her "Umm… sure. What do you have in mind?"

I clenched my fists and stood up balancing myself on the saddle "THIS!" I shouted out before jumping off "HICCUP!" She was instantly next to me looking at me with worried eyes before having an annoyed look "You should have told me." I grinned and looked at the upcoming ground, I still had a minute.

I spun around and it was wonderful. The feeling of nothing tying me down was the best. Once my minute was up Toothless spun around and I grabbed on to the saddle pulling myself on. Once I was on she quickly spun again and opened her wings slowing us down.

"You're going to give me grey scales you know that?" I chuckled a little "I had nothing to worry about, you were next to me the whole time." I said referencing to lunch "Oh ha ha, very funny." I smiled a little before rubbing the top of her head "So… can we do it again?" I asked now addicted to the adrenaline high.

I could practically feel her roll her eyes "Maybe later." I accepted that answer knowing that we would probably do it again in the future "You'd make a great leader." She said randomly. I was a little surprised at the statement "Why would you say that?" I asked.

"I don't know you just… you're calm, you're smart, and you treat everyone equal." She said under me "For one I'm not a good leader, two I'm not that smart, and three…" I couldn't come up with anything else. She huffed under me. "You may not be able to see it Hic, but you are more than just those words. Trust me, you're not giving yourself enough credit." I stayed silent and she sighed under me.

"Also… when do you plan on telling your dad about… us." She asked. I gripped the hair on the side of my head and groaned "I have no idea Tooth. I haven't really thought about telling him with everything that's going on." I said truthfully "Well you should at least think about it because that isn't something that I would want him to find out from someone else like he has everything else."

She was right of course but I had no idea how to tell him. It's not like I can just go "Hey dad I'm in love with Toothless." It wouldn't end so well "I'll tell him sometime after we take out the red death." I said giving myself time to think of a way to tell him. She nodded and we continued to fly.

We continued to fly well past sunset until we decided that we should get some back. Halfway back I noticed that the northern lights were shining a bit brighter than usual tonight "They're beautiful tonight aren't they?" She said under me.

"Not as beautiful as you though." I replied with a slight blush forming at what I just said. She glanced up at me with a smile on her face. I looked away embarrassed "You're so fun to watch when you get embarrassed." She said with a smirk building up on the smile "Shut up." I murmured out. She let out a slight chuckled "Just saying… it's kinda cute."

We flew down into the cove a few minutes later. When we landed I hopped off and walked over to mom who was sitting next to the fire "Good flight?" I nodded and grinned remembering the adrenaline high I was on "It was amazing." I told her sitting down and leaning up against Toothless "That's good, that's good…"

She said all of a sudden staring off into nothingness "Mom?" She snapped back into reality "What?" I took a quick glance at Cloudjumper before returning back to her "Are you alright you seem… out of it?" I asked her feeling a little worried for her.

"I'm alright, I've just been thinking of the nest… our nest. I've been gone for a while and I just realized that we haven't checked in since I found you." I watched as Cloudjumper's eyes widened a little. He must have forgotten as well. She started to talk to herself quietly "So… why don't you just go check in?" I asked her.

"I guess… I just didn't want to leave you." I shrugged and gestured to Toothless "I'll be alright mom, you won't be missing much anyway." I told her. She looked up at Cloudjumper who nodded. She sighed "Ok, we'll go in the morning. But sometime soon you will come with me to meet the king." She said with a slight smile "Of course, I honestly am excited to meet this… king." I said back to her.

Toothless yawned next to me and I let out a light chuckle "I think it's about time we get some sleep." Mom nodded and lied up even closer to Cloudjumper. I followed suit and pushed myself up on Toothless. She grabbed me and wrapped her wings around me once more.

"Tooth?" She shifted herself and looked at me "Yes Hiccup?" I took a little breath "Did you mean what you said when we were flying about you know… all that stuff?" She chuckled lightly "Every word, and I didn't even say all of them, why?" I shrugged "Just wondering thats all."

She hummed "Well you should think about what I said because it's true." I nodded and buried myself even further in her embrace ""Good night Tooth." I mumbled out. She wrapped her wing around me once more and lied her head down "Good night to you too Hic."

Tomorrow would be the results on everything I have worked on thus far

AN: I'm not sure if I rushed this too much but even if I did maybe now I can get the plot to thicken once more. I dunno, tell me if I did a crappy job because I'm a terrible judge. Also, my writing might slow down a bit because of school but I'm not 100% sure yet but I wanted to warn you all just in case. So, review time…

ArthurShade- Why thank you.

Dimentional Phaser- I'm still trying to make up my mind but thanks for your input.

Shadows Rise From The Tides- Ya, I just fear that I'm pushing it along too quickly though.

scribe0magic- I was nervous writing it, and he might try to sabotage them later… maybe.

Kennayil- Ya, I'm not fully sure if I will or not but I am thinking about it. It's like I said, what can you say when your leader is already on board? As for the whole loophole thing, tell me about it, people always use it, hell seen it less than a year ago in person. Oh and I did put in your idea even if it's not what you expected.

Viper4K- Nope not this time, trust me I thought about it but I couldn't figure out what to do next. So for now they are still in the clear.

Ayyren- So I already replied Via PM in detail how I felt about your review. But I'll tell you again, thank you. As I said, I'm very happy that you were straight forward with me. Also sorry for any grammar mistakes, sometimes I skip a letter or hit another one as I'm moving my fingers.

So that's all of the reviews and I hope those were good answers. I'm going to continue to think on whether or not I will make this into two stories or one HUGE story. I'll figure it out when the time comes. So again from earlier please go check out Freedom and the other oneshots included in the challenge. Check out my BIO if you are interested in the whole oneshot challenge business, it involves a couple of my fanfic friends and me. So with all of that out of the way I hope you all enjoyed and I'll see you guys in the next chapter.

You took the time to read this; you can take the time to review
