AN: FINALLY THE NASTY ONE IS READY TO FINISH HIS FIRST FANFICTION STORY EVER! That's right guys here is the epilogue of my first FanFiction Story "XCOM: Earth's Guarding Saviors"! I'd just like to say that this was a blast to write, even if under 2,000 people read the whole thing. That's understandable since I'm only a rookie author, and I was writing a story about XCOM which isn't exactly the most popular topic to write about on here. Anyway just a few quick shout outs to some people who favorited and followed the story throughout its life: Darthfuzz7, Dragonsoul1, Zoids Fanatic, cheekymanwaffle and chaos nutter. I'd also like to give a shout out to wup5 for being the only person to leave a review. Thanks so much guys for your support! It makes me feel good knowing that at least somebody out there reads this and enjoys what I write. Anyway I have started writing another story that I hope people will enjoy entitled "Luis' Survivor: Andes" which is a novelization of a Survivor group game that I participated in under the same name on Tengaged. Please go check it out and give it a read. Anyway on with the finale!

Chapter 25: Epilogue

As the squad was being flown back to the base, Prophet was able to set Smokey's broken ankle and got him a brace to where, but told him to report directly to the Infirmary once they landed once he regained consciousness. The others were celebrating with one another and giving each other high-fives as they landed at the base.

When the ramp descended they were greeted by the entire base giving them cheers and clapping for their success signaling the end of the war. Strike One quickly joined in amongst the festivities as they were personally congratulated by Dr. Shen, Dr. Vahlen, Bradford, the Commander, and Strike Two for a job well done. They all got together for one final group picture in their uniforms before DOA and Smokey made their way to the Infirmary to be cared for by the staff on hand.

== 5 Years Later ==

Smokey looked upon that last group photo as he smiled warmly at the memories of that last time the team was all together. After the battle, the war was over so XCOM was quickly disbanded seeing how there was no longer any need for the group's operation with the aliens defeated wholeheartedly.

All the members of Strike One were discharged from XCOM and were allowed to go back to their normal lives if they so chose. Over the years, they had drifted apart a bit but they still made it a point to meet up on the anniversary of the war's end.

Dr. Shen had gone back to Japan and created his own manufacturing business focused on developing newer equipment for the military. Thinking that his equipment should be put to good use since wars will always exist in the world. Currently, his company is the leading armor and weapons provider for the Japanese military.

Dr. Vahlen returned to Germany and proceeded to develop new psionic booster which were used to test soldiers to see if they could harness the powers that Smokey used during the war. Currently, it's still in development but the results are very promising.

Bradford returned to the U.S. military, and currently works as a top advisor for the President. His opinions always hold the most weight due to his dispatcher experience in XCOM, and his handling of Strike One and Two during that time.

The Commander retired from the military and proceeded to go back to a quiet life with his wife in Scottsdale, Arizona. He spends every day playing golf with other retired service personnel and telling them stories about the alien war. His stories always got him out of paying for the drinks after the golf games since they were always the best.

The members of Strike Two decided to stay in the military and are currently all working together as a Special Ops team that specializes in the neutralization of terrorist cells worldwide. The four members are even still dating to this day, but haven't found time to get married due to their busy lifestyles.

Watson and Kauffman had both gone back to school after being discharged at the ranks of Sergeant. But before they left, they got to choose their nicknames which were "Ice" and "Dozer" respectively. The two continued to date after the war and had even gone to school together at Cambridge University. The two eventually got married after college and were currently pursuing careers as a doctor and architect respectively.

Chris and Roadblock were also discharged and sought for asylum in the United States once their papers came. (Chris managed to also get promoted to Sergeant and chose the nickname "Heavy Duty"). They along with the whole Muton race were granted asylum thanks to their heroism during the war, and built a community of farmers neighboring the Amish in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Needless to say the entire squad was shocked that had occurred and hoped the Amish could deal with Mutons as their neighbors. So far no fights had broken out, and the two even agreed to open farmer's markets together and splitting the profits 50-50.

Renegade and Prophet both decided to end their lives as soldiers, and moved back home to Prophet's hometown of Glasgow, Scotland once Renegade has his passport approved by the Scottish officials. The two go about traveling the world as authors, as they wrote books dedicated to their own personal war experiences, as well as collaborating with each other on a book focusing on XCOM's actions during the war. Needless to say that the books were hits with readers everywhere as they wanted to know how the war was won.

Ghost and Black Widow both went back to their careers as competitive shooters and competed against each other numerous times over the years. Each of them managed to win the same amount of competitions and are now the two best shooters worldwide. They got engaged a year after the war, and were married six months after that. Currently both were off of the circuit for awhile, as they were expecting their first child shortly.

DOA and himself had gotten married once his ankle had healed, and they welcomed their first child, Jesus Rodriguez Jr. seven months later. They had chosen to retire to the civilian life as well, and currently resided in the Tampa, Florida so they could be closer to their former squad mates and the reunions. DOA was employed as a contractor for the city helping to build houses to replace the ones destroyed by the aliens attacks years ago. Smokey was operating as the town's mayor since the city needed someone to lead them back after the war and he was the best choice since he helped to win the war. Plus, he used his psionic abilities to influence people to voting for me.

'Things couldn't be any more perfect' thought Smokey as he watched his wife and son play together on the playground he built in the backyard.

'I wonder how the reunion will go in a few weeks?' but his thoughts were interrupted by his son.

"Daddy come play with us!"

"Sure thing son" replied Smokey as he headed over to them.

'I hope that we never have to go through another war like that again anytime soon.'

AN: And Cut! That's where we'll end it. I didn't want to drag it out anymore as I felt it would be forced and cause the chapter as a whole to suffer. Anyway, this is the end of my very first story and I'd like to thank everyone who read it. There may or may not be another XCOM story in the future depending on how I feel about the game coming out this fall. Anyway this is "The Nasty One" signing off for the final time from "XCOM: Earth's Guarding Saviors". -PRAK
