Previously on Pokémon Black and White, the group payed a visit to the Pokémon Gym in Castelia City where Ash battled Gym Leader Burgh. Ash won the battle and got his third badge. Now they are leaving the city and continuing the journey.
Today, our heroes are leaving Castelia City and are now on their way to Nimbasa.
The group exited Castelia and ahead of them was a sandstorm.
"Looks like there's a big storm." stated Brock.
"Won't stop me." said Ash.
"I didn't say we weren't going through it." said Brock "Besides, it's the fastest way to Nimbasa."
The group continued following the road, and the sandstorm kept getting heavier.
"Is everybody here?" asked Brock.
"I think so." answered Max.
"I've been through one of these before." explained Nate "My dad taught me how, in fact, I think that is where he got his Darmanitan."
"Then, let's try and find some Pokémon." said Ash.
"I'm in!" agreed Nate.
The group continued walking, then out of no where the sand started getting deep.
"I think we've stepped in quick sand." said Ash.
"Don't worry." said Nate "It's just deep sand, my dad taught me the difference."
"Is your dad a sand expert?" asked Misty.
"No," said Nate "He just knows things."
Just then Ash and Pikachu started sinking in.
"I think somethings pulling on me." said Ash.
"Pika pi!" shouted Pikachu.
"I'll help you." said Tracey.
"So will I." said Gary.
Gary and Tracey pulled Ash and Pikachu out of the sand.
Ash and Pikachu both sighed in relief.
"Thank you." thanked Ash.
"Pika." thanked Pikachu.
"No problem." said Gary.
"Ash," said Tracey "I think the Pokémon is still on you though."
Ash freaked out when he noticed a Pokémon on his leg. He pulled out his Pokédex to find out what it was.
"Sandile, the Desert Croc Pokémon," explained the Pokédex "This Pokémon moves along below the sand's surface, except for it's nose and eyes, which are shielded by a dark membrane."
"I'm going to have to capture it." said Ash "Go Leavanny!"
Leavanny was let out of the Pokéball.
"Leavanny, use razor leaf!" commanded Ash.
Leavanny used razor leaf on Sandile, then Ash threw a Pokéball and Sandile was caught.
"Alright!" shouted Ash "I caught a Sandile!"
"Pikachu!" shouted Pikachu.
The Pokéball with Sandile in it faded away.
"And there it goes to Professor Oak." said Ash.
"Do you plan to swap out any time soon?" asked Max.
"I think I'll wait." answered Ash.
Ash returned Leavanny to her Pokéball.
"Let's keep going." suggested Ash.
"But I want to catch a Pokémon too." complained Nate.
"Fine," said Misty "You can get one too."
"Yes!" shouted Nate "I'm getting something different, does anyone here have binoculars?"
"I do." said Gary.
"May I use them?" asked Nate.
"Help yourself." said Gary handing Nate the binoculars.
Nate started using the binoculars and then he found a water area.
"Guys," said Nate "I want to a water Pokémon, follow me."
"I guess we'll do what he wants." said Misty.
The group followed Nate to the water area, when they got there Nate pulled out his fishing rod and began fishing.
"I still think it would have been easier if you just caught the Squirtle that follows us everywhere." said Misty.
"I told you," said Nate "I can't. Anyway, May can you open up my Elektrike's Pokéball, I want to be prepared."
"Sure," said May "But which one is it."
"I have three Pokéballs on my belt." explained Nate "The middle one is Elektrike."
"Got it." said May.
May let out Nate's Elektrike.
"Thank you." thanked Nate "Anyway, I think I got a bite, I better reel it in."
Nate reeled it in, and sure enough he got something.
"Elektrike, thunder wave!" commanded Nate.
Elektrike paralyzed the Pokémon.
"Now I need to check my Pokédex first." said Nate.
"Why didn't you check it before attacking it?" asked Dawn.
"So it doesn't escape." explained Nate pulling out his Pokédex.
"Frillish, the Floating Pokémon," explained the Pokédex "With it's thin, veil-like arms wrapped around the body of it's opponent, this Pokémon sinks to the ocean floor."
"Apparently, there is a difference between genders of this Pokémon." explained Nate "The male being blue and the female being pink, this one is male."
Nate threw a Pokéball and succeeded at catching Frillish.
"I finally have a fourth Pokémon." said Nate.
Nate and Charmander high fived while he returned Elektrike to the Pokéball.
"Now that both of you have caught a Pokémon," said Misty "Can we leave now? It's really hot here."
"Yes!" Ash and Nate said at the same time.
The group continued traveling through and they finally got out.
"Looks like we've made it," said Brock "It's kind of late now, so why don't we crash at the nearest Pokémon Center."
"Sounds good." said Gary "I need to leave soon, but I'll stick with you guys until you leave, then I'll do my thing."
The group went inside the Center and Brock flirted with Nurse Joy as usual, but because of Hilda, he got the same outcome.
"Seriously Hilda." said Brock.
"Yes." said Hilda.
"I better call my Dad." said Nate.
Nate picked up the phone and called his Dad.
"Hello son." said Nate's father.
"Hi Dad, guess what I did today." said Nate.
"What did you do?" asked his father.
"I traveled through a Sandstorm and caught a Pokémon." answered Nate.
"That's my boy." said his father "You still remember the rules, right?"
"Of course I do." said Nate.
"And you know that if you break any of them," said his father "That you are heading straight home."
"I know," said Nate "Stop worrying. I won't break any of them."
"You better not." he replied.
"Bye Dad." said Nate.
"Bye son." replied his father.
Nate went over to see the rest of the group.
"I can't believe my father thinks I'm gonna break his rules." said Nate.
"What about your mom?" asked Dawn.
"She would probably agree with my Dad." replied Nate "It took them this long to let me go on a journey."
"That's nothing," said Ash "I never really knew my Dad, and my Mom also worries about me."
"Pika!" agreed Pikachu nodding his head.
"Oh yeah." said Brock "My Dad left my family, and I lost my Mom afterward."
"Guys," said Hilda "Can we talk about something else?"
The group ignored her and continued the conversation.
"You have no idea." said Misty "My parents made me feel like they regretted having me, because my sisters beat me at everything."
"Really now," said May "My dad doesn't really have time for me, because he's a gym leader, and my mom and I really weren't that close."
"I know right." said Max "I know how you feel."
"I'm serious," said Hilda "We can talk about something else."
"I never really knew either of my parents." said Gary "Gramps raised me."
"I would rather be in your position than mine." said Dawn "My dad is very strict, and I don't even see him very much, and my mom can be a little overprotective of me."
Piplup nodded his head.
The group all except Hilda started laughing.
"Can we change the subject now?" asked Hilda.
"Wait," said Tracey "When I told my parents I was going on my journey, they didn't even care!"
For the exception of Hilda, they all started laughing even harder.
"We sure do have some crazy parents." said Max.
Hilda couldn't take it anymore and went outside.
"I wonder what's wrong." wondered Dawn.
"I'll go check on her." said Tracey.
Tracey went outside to talk to Hilda.
"Is there something wrong?" asked Tracey.
"No," lied Hilda "And besides, you wouldn't care anyway!"
"Hilda." said Tracey "You can talk to me, I care."
"Why should I tell you?" asked Hilda.
"Because we're worried about you." explained Tracey.
Tracey sat down next to Hilda in front of the Pokémon Center.
"You can tell me anything." said Tracey "I don't mind."
"I was trying to avoid this conversation." said Hilda.
"Is there a reason why?" asked Tracey.
"Because I don't like talking about my family life." explained Hilda.
"I understand," said Tracey "And I'm sorry we ignored you."
"It's okay." said Hilda.
Hilda took a deep breath.
"Is it okay if I tell you about my parents?" asked Hilda "I haven't told anyone, and I need to talk to someone about it."
"Go ahead." said Tracey.
"My parents would protest against Pokémon trainers, because they assumed that they were treating Pokémon as slaves." explained Hilda.
"I really hate it when people say that." said Tracey.
"I know," said Hilda "Anyway, they didn't want me to become a trainer, but it was my dream. So when I turned ten, I got my Bulbasaur without letting them know, but they soon discovered it and told me to release it immediately."
"But you still have your Bulbasaur." said Tracey.
"I know," said Hilda "I said I would do it, but what I really did was run away from home."
Hilda soon started to cry.
"My parents probably don't know where I am." cried Hilda.
"Hilda," said Tracey "That's horrible."
"I know." cried Hilda "I got on a plane and went to Unova, so I could get away, because I knew I would be in a lot of trouble if they found me."
Hilda began to hug Tracey and continued to cry. Tracey put his arms around her.
"What region are your parents from?" asked Tracey.
"Johto." answered Hilda "But I want to stay here, I like it here, I want to stay with you guys."
"Don't worry." said Tracey "You can stay with us as long as you need to."
Hilda started to cry even more. She was hugging Tracey even tighter.
"I didn't think you would ever see me like this." said Hilda.
"It's okay to cry." said Tracey "I'm here for you."
"Thank you." thanked Hilda.
"Why don't we go back inside." suggested Tracey "Everyone else is probably waiting on us."
"Okay." accepted Hilda.
Tracey and Hilda went back inside.
"Are you okay Hilda?" asked Dawn.
"I am now." answered Hilda.
Max saw that Tracey's shirt was wet.
"What happened?" asked Max looking at his shirt that was covered in Hilda's tears.
"It's nothing." replied Tracey.
"So who wants to play some games?" asked Brock.
Everyone agreed to do so, and enjoyed the rest of the night.
And so, Ash and his friends are now in Nimbasa City, both Ash and Nate got new Pokémon today, and Tracey and Hilda have began getting closer to each other. What will happen between the two of them. We'll just have to see on the next exciting episode of Pokémon Black and White!
