Bonus Chapter Two.

Coming up to the end of Hi Skool, many of the teenagers started to get excited about something called Prom. It happened at roughly the same time every year and normally Dib ignored it. Zim had made a few studies of the phenomenon for his file's but he'd simply listed it as a mating ritual, since a percentage of females that attended were impregnated after the annual event. He was never sure what the real decided factors were between those that attended and didn't, and those that produced offspring afterwards compared to those that didn't. He'd written it off as gross and disgusting, leaving it at that.

For all the pair's lack of interest, it seemed the rest of the Skool didn't see it the same way. There were many that were interested in them, especially since Hi Skool would be over soon and they were both still -apparently- single. Neither showed any romantic interest in each other -as once believed by the student population- or in anyone else for that matter.

So it was with some surprise one day, that while at his locker, Dib felt someone tug on his coat gently. Turning around and looked down -as was the case when you were one of the tallest people in the Skool- Dib saw a young woman smiling shyly up at him. She was one of the more 'normal' girls he thought, and he'd seen her around Skool, even shared a few classes with her but at that moment he couldn't recall her name.

"Er, yeah?" He managed after a few minutes of awkward silence, him standing there waiting, she standing there smiling up at him.

"Um... D-Dib... um.. well, oh, um..." The noises seemed to be trying to form into words, but Dib wasn't too sure.

Frowning in confusion, he leaned down a little to try and seem less intimidating. If she had a message to pass on, all the mumbling wouldn't help. "Are you alright?"

The girl gasped and her face blossomed with red but she turned and ran away before saying another word. Leaving the taller teen to stand there in silence, still confused. Turning around and returning to his locker, Dib dropped all his books off and made sure his proper note book was still safely in his bag before shutting the locker up. His proper notebook contained his designs and concepts for more inventions, twisting Irken and Human technology together into a new fusion; it was also full of notes about space travel equations and chemical formulas waiting to be tried out for one reason or another.

His normal notebooks contained nothing more exciting than Hi Skool maths notes and doodles of stick men doing things.

But the girls actions had made him aware that he was once again the center of a lot of quiet -but intense- attention from the student body around him. It wasn't the tension of fear that filled the place now, Dib thought as he headed to his next classroom, it was something else. His next class was one of the three that he didn't share with Zim, so he couldn't ask the Irken if he'd noticed anything different. He'd have to wait until the class afterwards, which was the last one before lunch.

Sitting down in his seat near the middle of the room, Dib's skin crawled as he felt eyes on him from all angles. When he'd returned and been treated like a bomb waiting to explode, he'd sat in the middle of the room out of malicious joy. It had been funny to see people try to lean away from him and act normal at the same time, in case he noticed them trying to lean away from him.

Now it was unnerving to have them all watching him hungrily.

Dib took his coat off, and dropped it on the back of his chair before sitting down again. Shifting in his seat, he was reminded for the fifth time that day, that his normally baggy blue top had been shrunk in the wash and was pulling tight over his chest and around his upper arms. He knew it had been shrunk since he could also see the waist band on his jeans and if he sat up properly, a strip of pale skin.

So he had been feeling self conscious since he'd noticed his top that morning, now it was getting worse. Sighing and shifting in his seat, Dib lifted a hand to rub at his shoulder, trying to ease the ache from a fight he'd had two days ago. The bruising was gone but there was still an ache from abused tendons, and the tight top wasn't helping the tenderness either.

Stretching out and shifting, Dib froze as he heard a few sighs and moans from behind him. Blinking and dismissing it at nothing -since his precognition showed that if he turned around, he'd see nothing more than a few people watching him- Dib flexed his arm again, fingers pressing deep at the shoulder muscles and easing the ache.

A girl sitting on his right was watching him out the corner of her eye and biting her bottom lip, her cheeks blushing red. Seeing that he had caught her watching, the blush grew and she demurely looked down at her notebook, doodling some more hearts on the page while trying not to fidget under his gaze.

Dib started to get a sinking feeling as he looked around him carefully. Most of the room was giving him gooey or heated looks, male and female alike. Although some of the guys were just glaring nastily, feeling challenged but too smart to make a point of it to the crazy guy that had knocked a hole in the wall last week. By accident.

Sinking down in his seat, Dib tried to keep his head down during class, focusing on the notes he was making for a variant on Zim's artificial gravity system in his Voot cruiser. It didn't stop him hearing the occasional sigh from his female classmates, making him shiver in fear each time.

Heading out the corridors as quickly as he could, Dib aimed for the picnic bench he usually shared with Zim and Gaz. His food was already wrapped and ready in his bag and it gave him cause to avoid the lunch room altogether, thus avoiding more people.

But as he headed to the table, he heard another shy female voice piping up.

"-liked you for a while now, Zim." It was saying, making Dib lengthen his stride to try and get around the corner faster. And indeed, there was Zim sitting on the bench and giving a blushing young blond a look of complete confusion and disgust.

Knowing Zim still had a habit of reacting badly to people trying to get closer to him, Dib jogged closer and called out. "Zim! Where the hell have you been hiding?" It wasn't much really, but it was enough to make the Irken turn in his seat and see him coming over, black coat flapping around him as he jogged over.

"Dib-thing," called Zim, almost seeming relieved to see him. "Hurry up and sit down before Gaz arrives. She said she needed to talk about something with us." Zim looked at the blushing blond next to him, taking note of her attempts to make herself seem more beautiful in the common fashions of the earth culture and society. "Thank you for telling me what you thought of the mighty Zim but you can leave us now, hyuman. I need to converse with Dib about matters your puny monkey brain cannot begin to understand."

The girl tilted her head to the side in confusion for a moment but then smiled and said she'd see him in class again later for his answer. Dib watched her go, feeling something inside of him growl quietly as he did. It had never bothered him before, but he didn't like the idea of pretty girls talking to his beloved enemy.

"What was that all about?" Asked Gaz suddenly, slamming her tray down and getting both of there attentions as they jumped around to face her.

"She was muttering about something," said Dib grumpily, sitting down next to Zim and pulling a box out of his bag. "I couldn't hear it."

"She said something about liking me, and wanting to go to the 'Prom'." Answered Zim now, leaning one elbow on the table and resting his chin in his hand while looking up at nothing. "She's the third girl to ask me that today."

"What?!" Growled Dib in a low voice, sitting up straighter.

"That's what I needed to talk to you both about," snapped Gaz before the pair could descend into one of there frequent and varied fights. She got a pair of owlish looks and continued on, "neither of you will have noticed, but right now your both being sized up like a pair of stallions on market day. By guys and girls. And as far as the Skool is concerned, your both free and single."

"What do you mean?" Asked Zim, his years of Earth knowledge failing him at the moment.

"If I understand her right, she means that most of the girls in the Skool, currently want one of us two to take them to the Prom at the end of the month." Explained Dib, his voice sounding a little wooden as he spoke. "And even thought we are seen as 'the crazy ones to be avoided at all costs', almost overnight we've both become prime dating material instead."

"But the Prom is a human mating ritual." Said Zim with a frown, still trying to catch up.

"We are the only two that think -and know- your not human, remember?" Dib pointed out, gesturing to himself and his sister. "They think your a normal-ish human male."

"And now crazy is the new sexy," teased Gaz nastily from behind her tray of food. "I don't know what it is you pair have been doing recently, but you've got most the girls in the Skool drooling over you."

Dib and Zim shared a look, both completely at a loss.

"We've not done anything out of the ordinary," mused Dib, slowly.

"We still fight and argue all around the place," shrugged Zim.

"And no one really talks to us still."

"They have been watching both of us though, since you came back."

"That was nearly four months ago," frowned Dib, feeling his temper picking up. "Why would they still be watching?"

"Duh, because you two have grown up and your tight." Interrupted a new voice.
