Angel's Last Song
Twenty- fourth Song: THE BEGINNING
Allen Walker... The one in the prophesy when the darkness in him came will become the destroyer of Time, the host of the 14th Noah of Destruction also known as the Musician who betrayed the family. It was also said that he will be the one to judge the war. Will Allen help the exorcists win the holy war or join the Noah?
Link sighed at the thought. Based from his observation, Allen was a very hard working exorcist and loyal to his comrades though his selfishness made his friends worried. He noted that Allen wasn't just destroying the akuma to save innocent people, he could feel that Allen was much livelier when in battle field. He wonder what made Allen like this. He also learned from Lavi that Allen was obsessed to akuma. What is he thinking? He even attempted to save Tyki back in the ark, but that was understandable. Allen was so kind and thought he already killed Tyki's Noah. Now that he thought about it, could it be because Allen was also a Noah? What will happen then? Now that he was locked up in the cell. And what about the prophecy.
Shrugging the thought, Link closed the notebook he used to record Allen's behavior and went out of the room, locking it. He tucked the key in his pocket and turned around.
"Wha-" he recoiled upon seeing a brown haired teen with icy blue eyes in gray polo and white pants. His arms crossed behind his head.
"I saw the key." the teen said.
"Who are you?" Link glared at him.
"What? Don't you recognize me?"
Now that the teen said it, Link took a closer look and gasped. They may differ in colors but they have same facial features.
"Lou?"
"Yep. I finally dared to drink Komui's potion and it work! I'm back to normal now."
"I see. What are you doing here?"
"Huh? I want to see Allen."
Link stared at him for awhile then he noticed the guards sprawled on the floor behind Lou.
"What did you do to them?" he asked pointing to the unconscious guards.
"Put them to sleep. Why?"
"Nothing. How did you do it?"
"My innocence. It can produce air and I can manipulate it into anything sharp. I just used a needle type weapon with tranquilizer on it." Lou explained with a smile. "I can also repel and nullify your technique." he added.
"That explained why you were able to escape my barrier before." Link muttered to himself. "Let's go before Inspector sees you." he said and dragged Lou by his collar.
"H-hey! Wait! Liiink!" Lou's scream faded as he was dragged by Link away from Allen's cell so as not to wake the latter. But little did they know, Allen Walker had escaped.

"Good evening, Millennium Earl." Neah, who resurfaced once again, greeted as he entered the parlour, where the Earl sat on the couch knitting a scarf, through the ark's gate. "Want to know something?" He asked, smiling like a Cheshire cat.
The Earl stopped knitting and looked up to see the 14th, who he treated as his brother, standing in front of him with a sinister smile. "Neah…" he breathed out the name as he sat aside his knitted scarf and stood, inching towards the 14th. He's been waiting to see him again. "Neah~! I missed you-" he cried, making an attempt to touch him but was stopped as Neah slapped his hand away and turned around.
"Don't touch me so casually Earl." He said. "Though I'm happy for our little reunion after all these years." Neah turned to his right and walked up to the window. He looked outside, observing the place and then watched as the cloud cleared its way to show the bright silver full moon that illuminated then dark place. "What a beautiful moon…" he moaned, longing for something-or rather someone he hadn't seen for a long time. "What if I awoke sooner? What if I came back sooner, as I promised Cross? Would him and Mana still be here fooling around like the old times?" he whispered to himself, smiling a sad and genuine smile at the memories when they were still kids living a normal life. The Earl heard these and felt sorry for his lost.
The Earl sighed.
"Neah?" he inquired, slowly making his way closer to the 14th.
"Earl of the Millennium." Neah addressed in a warning tone that made the Earl hesitated and stopped inching closer to him, afraid that Neah might run away from him. "Please answer my question, Earl. Do you want to know something?"
"What is it?"
Neah moved from the window to the couch, the Earl followed him and sat across him.
"The Black Order locked Allen up in the cell, I just borrowed his body to escape and come here. You know that Allen is in a bad shape, no?" the Earl nodded. "Well, the Higher ups still are oblivious about that little fact and just locked him up, treating him as a traitor. Oh, sorry I didn't brought Lou with me. I know why you want him, so… here." Neah took out the notebook from his pocket and handed it to the Earl.
"What's this?" he asked upon receiving the small maroon notebook.
"A notebook, I think?"
"Ohoho~ sarcastic, are we?"
"Just read it Earl." He snorted.
Neah played on Timcanpy while waiting for the Earl to finish. Just like Allen used to do when something was bothering him, Neah pinched Timcanpy's cheeks and pulled it, stretching Timcanpy. With a plop, he released the golden golem who flop its wings and flew round and round of his head before it settled down his scalp and chew on his hair. "Don't chew my hair, Tim." He scolded the golem as he reached out and pulled him away his head. He then rested his hand on his lap where Tim sat and poked Timcanpy's head, stretched its wings, picked it up using its tail, and swishing Timcanpy round and round until the golden golem had had enough and bit Neah's thumb.
"Ow!" Neah yelped and released the golem who flew up and sat on his head. "Sorry, Tim." He muttered.
He noticed as the Earl closed the notebook and settled it on table that was between them.
"So." Said the Earl and looked at Neah's silver eyes. "Allen and Lou is my grandson and Allen is the heart?" Neah nodded. "Now I know why I didn't kill Allen before when I have the chance."
"You've forgotten about your son after the tragedy that leads you to insanity. But now that you are reminded of your family and the location of the heart, what are your plans Earl? You can't destroy the innocence that is this arm-" he held up his left arm. "-unless the wielder is dead. But if you kill me, the innocence would just heal me like when Tyki punctured Allen's heart." Neah paused as he watched the Earl whose face still grinning, but he could feel the mixed emotions the Earl was radiating. "If I were to die, you will lose the 14th once again and at the same time, you will also lose a grandson whom you hadn't spent much time. I know you very well Earl. I had seen you before entertaining some little kids on the street and gave them treats. You really looked like a very good person back then and I know you still do that thing whenever you are out there as you yourself. We may be bad and bloodlust in their eyes but I know you care for your family so much. Now, do you still want to end me?"
The Millennium Earl was speechless for awhile as he took time in absorbing every words that Neah said.
"I can't… can't you just come back to me Neah?" he pleaded. "I already forgive your betrayal. Just come back to me and everything will be back to how it used to be."
"I am glad." He smiled what it seemed like pure, but has a hint of mockery. "Thank you for forgiving me, but…" he paused and glared daggers to the Earl. "I won't and will never forgive you for what you have done." Neah growled. In flashed, he was already and inch away from the Earl. He was on the table, kneeled on one knee and yanked the Earl closer to his face. Neah's face became twisted, his eyes were wide like saucers and irises were small like a dot, his sinister grin just widened that would put the Cheshire in shame. "I WILL END YOU AND BECOME THE NEW MILLENNIUM EARL!" the Earl wasn't frightened at all, but sad for he was force to kill his beloved family once again. Not only that, he will kill two of his family.
"I guess you are on their side then?"
Neah relaxed his tensed muscles that were itching to kill and released the Earl, going back on the couch. "Who said that I am on their side? I hate the Black Order. They are corrupted. Treating their people like mere tools." Neah muttered the last sentenced as he averted his gazed and rested his chin on his palm. "Noah and Black Order or no different." He said. "The Noah aimed to destroy human race and reign. We may be in the darkness but there's a light within us. Just like Tyki who chose to keep his human side because he cared for his human friends, Road who loved Allen despite being an exorcist, and Cyril who married a fragile human even though the reason was only to adopt Road. While the Black Order appears as the light but there's darkness within their walls. They were corrupted, doing experiments on humans and treating them like tools. If you put them together, you won't be able to identify which is white and which is black for everything was gray."
The Earl just listened to Neah. None could tell what he looked like behind the mask but Neah can feel the aura he was radiating.
He was furious and sad at the same time.
"Can't you forgive me Neah?" he asked suddenly.
"No can do Earl. I told you already. There's no way back."
"I guess we don't have a choice then?" he asked, his grin widened even more as he made up his mind.
He will end Neah Walker and destroy the Heart of innocence.

"Nii-san? What's happening?" Lenalee asked upon entering the messy office of her brother together with Lavi and Kanda who just returned from their mission.
When they came back through the ark's gate, they noticed how the finders and scientists were on such a hurry with worry and fright. They attempted to ask one but ignored them so they went to see Komui, who sat behind his desk with a serious look, to give their report and asked what on Earth was happening.
"The 14th had escaped." Said bookman who they hadn't notice on the couch with a very serious look.
"Escape? What do you mean?" Lavi asked for clarification.
"D-did you…locked him up? Nii-san?" tears welled up in her eyes.
"Yes, Lenalee. I'm sorry. We couldn't do anything. It was the Higher ups' decision."
"So, where is he?" Kanda asked. "How did he escape?"
"We don't know yet." Komui answered and Bookman added. "He escaped using the Noah's ark."
Thank you for reading!
